Wow! This one is packed full of action and surprises! I'm not an outdoorsy girl but I sure love reading these adventurous stories about people doing cool things like hiking, skiing, rappelling, flying helicopters, escaping grizzlies...

And then you add in the love stories and the suspense and mystery and you have a real winner. I was so thrilled to get two love stories in this book. Obviously one was the main story but they both were great. I really loved watching the relationships develop from the first kiss all the way to the very end of the story. I loved Sam. Such a stubborn man. And Willow was amazing. Some of the things she accomplished in this story were nothing short of amazing.

I cannot wait for book three in this series.

Revell provided me a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Lots of adventure in this one. Bears. Ice. Storms. Wilderness survival. I was hooked and invested. Susie’s storytelling style kept me returning because even after putting the book down, I could dive right back in. The story reads fast because of all the action.

The story follows two different couples as we watch two romances develop. The relationship between Sam and Willow, and a relationship between Pete and Jess. I liked this because both stories were engaging and offered more mirrors for the book’s overall theme.

Some of the novel’s themes include: forgiveness, family relationships, trust, and definitely the theme of rescue, as the book’s title implies. Everyone needs rescue, even though to admit it means swallowing one’s pride. The author includes the salvation message in this story of hope. Her female characters are strong and capable, though we do have the heroic and romantic aspect of the heroes rushing in to protect them as the need arises.

Here is another enjoyable book by one of the strongest Christian fiction voices of our time. Loved it!

Highly recommended.

Rescue Me
Montana Rescue #2
By Susan May Warren

Deputy Sam Brooks knows that Sierra Rose is the perfect one for him - smart, efficient - what more could anyone ask for? But for some reason something is missing in their relationship - if only he could figure out what it is...

Sierra's heart has been broken by Ian Shaw but whether or not he still has it is a question that remains to be seen. But Sierra's younger sister Willow sees Sam larger than life and if she ever needs to be saved Sam is the man she hopes will be there for her. But Willow is a flighty walking disaster to Sam's eyes nothing like Sierra. But Willow is always ready to offer a smile or a word of encouragement. And Willow has her heart sent on being named the new youth pastor, but her unconventional upbringing just might stand between her and her dream.

And then there is Pete, Sam's younger brother who can do no good in Sam's eyes. Pete has his eye on a position in PEAK Rescue but having to go through Sam may keep him from his goal. If only he could find a way to convince Sam that he is dependable...

When another youth group activity goes wrong Willow, Sam and a group of teens are stranded in a precarious situation and a storm front is about to make it much more dangerous. Everyone is going to have to pull together and do what they do best if everyone is going to make it. But nature never makes it easy...

Fans of Susan May Warren's previous works will enjoy this, the second book in the Montana Rescue series. In this book some of the secondary characters from Wild Montana Skies get their starring role in the meat of the story. I'm interested in seeing how exactly Ian Shaw and the mystery surrounding his missing / run-away niece Esme plays out in future books. This is an easy read that is perfect for unwinding with after a trying (or not so trying) day at work. Get ready for some wilderness survival and some deep soul healing with this latest Montana rescue!

I was provided a review copy of this book by the publisher Revell with no expectations of a positive review ~ all opinions expressed are my own.

I really enjoyed this story. Susan May Warren does a fabulous job of developing characters that are realistic and relatable in Rescue Me. Willow longs for a home with someone dependable who loves her – something she never had living with her hippie mother. Sam still battles old grievances against his brother Pete, who just wants his big brother’s respect. All too common problems that can complicate relationships, but Warren still manages to make them fresh and unique to Sam and Willow’s burgeoning romance.

The second book in the Montana Rescue series cranks up the suspense and romance with returning characters and new ones to love.

Sam Brooks is the deputy with the Mercy Falls sheriff’s department and works with the PEAK Rescue team. He likes to keep things in order on the job, in private that is another story. His father died in a skiing accident and since then he has stuck around to take care of his mother while his brother Pete did whatever he wanted. He hopes he has found true love with Sierra Rose. Sierra is also one that likes order, her sister, Willow, is opposite of her in almost every way. Willow has been in love with Sam since the first time she saw him. She has never wanted to cause her sister harm in any way and has kept her feelings to herself, but it is becoming more difficult to keep it bottled up. Willow may be a free spirit, but she has worked hard to get the job of youth pastor at their small town church. While leading a hike in the mountains, Willow and Sam find themselves thrown together in a fight to survive and save the youth with them. As tension mounts, their feelings grow as well, but things get far worse before they get better.

As the second book in Susan May Warren’s Montana Rescue series, the whole gang at PEAK rescue is back and things are heating up. This book focuses on several groups, Sam, Willow, and Sierra along with Pete, Jess and Ty. These groups find themselves thrown together in frightening, and strenuous situations that cause emotions to go haywire. Warren did an excellent job weaving these relationships in a way that allowed each one be believable and fit with the characters. I particularly liked the way Sam worked out his feelings. The wilderness setting and the way the characters dealt with the wilds of nature kept the suspense at a great pace. There were situations that everyone can relate to and learn a lesson from. I can’t wait to see what Warren does with the next book in the series. There are still several characters that have much to be explored. The book was left open for the next in a way that makes me frustrated that I have to wait for it to come out. I love this series and the characters in it. I will be anxiously awaiting the next in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

Rescue Me is the second book in the Montana Rescue Series. I have read the first book in this series and loved it! That being said, you don't have to read the first book to enjoy this one. But who am I kidding, I love reading any book by Susan May Warren, and will read any I can get my hands on. I found this book impossible to put down, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I need someone to rescue me because I can't stand to wait for the next book in this series. This story had the perfect amount of romance mixed with suspense. I enjoyed every page. This book follows the whole PEAK rescue team, but focus' on Sam and Willow.

Willows has always wanted what is best for her sister, even if it ends up being Sam, the man of her dreams. Her sister has been hurt enough already and Willow doesn't want to add to any heart break. Even if it's her own heart that gets broken, she will do everything in her power to make everyone else happy. The kids in her youth group are far from perfect, and Willow wants nothing more then to be there for them. She hasn't had the best track record when it comes to their group hikes, but in nature is where she feels closest to God. When disaster strikes Willow must lean on her faith like never before. Can she bring the kids home safe?

Sam is always the dependable one. Being the deputy is the perfect job for him. Now if he could only get his love life in line he would be set. Sierra is beautiful and organized and would make anyone the perfect wife. If there is one thing you can't force it's love. Being stranded in the snow was never part of the plan, and now Sam has to rely on someone other then himself, Willow. Always seeing the bright side, she isn't the worst person to have along when trapped in the wilderness. Will their circumstances cause them to grow closer? Or will Sam believe more then ever that he is meant to be with Sierra?

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Fiction with the perfect amount of suspense mixed in. Warren had me from the very first page. I loved getting to know the characters and were pulling for them the whole time. I found I could relate to many of their struggles and loved that they weren't perfect. I can't wait to see what is next! I received a copy of this book from Revell Books in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

I am enjoying the Montana Rescue series so much! I like how it is loosely connected to the author’s Montana Fire series, as well. Both of these series are packed with wonderful casts of characters, and this book is no exception to that.

In Rescue Me, I enjoyed that there were two potential romances brewing. The main romance between Willow and Sam was fraught with confusion, danger, and the complication of Sam dating Willow’s sister, Sierra. I loved the way these two came together.

The other great, romantic tension and side story in the novel related to Sam’s brother, Pete, and his teammate, Jess. There was a lot of chemistry between these two. Their growing attraction kept the story moving along nicely.

There was plenty of danger, quite a few close calls, and a touching back story about Sam and Pete, which explained the hostility between these two brothers. I really enjoyed Rescue Me and I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Rescue Me is a terrific Christian romance. I love this author's book and Ms. Warren never fails to deliver. I was immediately pulled into the drama and could not put the book down. Rescue Me has a great plot with many twist and turns. The characters are well thought out and believable. Lest I forget the book has a fantastic setting! I could picture those beautiful mountains.

RESCUE ME is Susan May Warren’s second book in her Montana Rescue Series.

The PEAK team in Montana is back and RESCUE ME picks up where WILD MONTANA SKIES left off. I’m loving this series.

RESCUE ME is Sam Brooks’s story. At the end of WILD MONTANA SKIES, he’d asked Sierra Rose out and made his interest in her plain. Sierra and Ian had stopped working together their incipient romance crashed and burned. Sierra’s heart was broken, but she was determined to move on and she accepted Sam’s invitation.

Fast forward a few weeks and Sam and Sierra are still dating. The PEAK team is still searching and rescuing both locals and tourists in the area and in Glacier National Park.

Sam is busy with his job, caring for his mom recovering from cancer treatments, dealing with an increase in bear attacks in the park, and his flaky younger brother Pete, a fellow PEAK team member. Sam still blames Pete for their father’s death when the boys were teenagers.

Willow, Sierra’s sister, has been trying to get over her crush on her sister’s new boyfriend by concentrating on her job and volunteering as a youth leader at her church. Then she is passed over for the youth director job at the church and her father marries and is so busy with his new family that he doesn’t have time or space for Willow anymore.

Sam keeps denying how drawn he feels to Sierra’s sister. Sierra is perfect for him. They’re both organized, steady, focused. Willow is … well, she never finished high school. She’s a free spirit who loves Jesus and her sister.

For Willow, getting over Sam is even harder when she and Sam end up leading several youth group members on a day hike. They have an accident on the way back and are stranded in the park with injured kids.

The PEAK team swings into action, searching for their missing friends. Especially Pete who is determined not to let his brother down again.

Like all of Warren’s best books, RESCUE ME has several plot threads that are woven tightly to make an incredible read. The characters’s faith is real and not heavy-handed.

Willow struggles with feeling worthy and like she belongs. Sam finally sees just what his anger and unforgiveness has cost him.

Pete has a sub-plot with Jess, one of the other PEAK Team members. I’m guessing their story will be in a future book. And, I hope, we’ll finally get back to Ian and Sierra in an upcoming book.

I was so sad when Warren’s Christiansen Family series ended, but Montana Rescue is a worthy successor. I’m looking forward to A MATTER OF TRUST, due in early July.

It’s a very sweet story!

Sam is a great character, and Willow is nice too. This book has an incredible message on forgiveness and taking chances in order to live fully!

However, the thing that touched me the most was how Sam had to let go an option in his life that seemed so right but didn’t bring him joy.

Sometimes, we fall into the trap of doing our “duty” without any delight, and it becomes a burden! Of course, we’re not supposed to do what we feel all the time, but it doesn’t mean our feelings are not important or that we shouldn’t pay attention to them. That was a great lesson!

This crew feels like family already, and I really can’t wait to read Ian and Sierra’s story! I know Gage is next, though, but I’m sure I’ll like it too.

First of all, this is the second book in a series, and if you haven't read the first one, don't start with this one. There is so much going on in this book, and much of it comes from the first book, so even though it all dealt with minor characters, I think the reader would be lost if they hadn't started with the first one.

I did enjoy this book much better than the first one. However, like I said, there was a lot going on. A lot...and it was much like a soap opera. I'm embarrassed to admit that I was totally taken in by that aspect and will finish the series because of it. I generally avoid soap operaish books, but I'm curious about the minor characters so I'll keep reading.

There was a lot of action in this book and, again, it was like, "Can't these characters ever get a break?" I'm not a bear expert in any shape or form, but I did wonder how researched that aspect of the book was. It didn't seem all accurate, but since I haven't done any research I can't say one way or the other.

Like I said, I will read the next in the series because I'm curious about the minor characters, but honestly, I wouldn't recommend this series to my friends.

Have you ever felt like your life was falling apart? That no matter what your heart desired, you seem to mess it up? That’s what Willow felt.
You see, Willow’s sort of a free spirit and often did things before really thinking. Driven by her heart and many times not her head. She had a heart that truly desired to reach out to the youth from her church, but one thing after another happened and she started doubting her worth and value as a leader.
Sam is an, “everything in it’s place” kind of guy. A guy who’s also holding onto deep hurt from his past, and in one impulsive moment Willow steps into his life and throws everything off kilter.
Now add to this mix - action packed adventure in the wilderness, many near death situations, up and down relationships and vivid examples of God’s protection and love. That’s what changes Willow and Sam’s lives.
Susan May Warren never disappoints in her storytelling. Her books are packed full of suspense, action, drama, fantastic word pictures that vividly describe landscape many don’t see and bits of romance to warm your heart. As well as wonderfully stated examples of God’s love and care for us.
My emotions were all over the place while reading this book. I actually stayed up way too late and literally could not put it down until I finished it.
I received a copy of this wonderful book from the publisher to read. All opinions are my own.
I LOVED this book and HIGHLY recommend it!

Rescue Me is the first book written by Susan Mae Warren that I have had the pleasure of reading. I enjoyed the style of the author. The romance and drama unfolded at a realistic pace which was enhanced by the multiple points of view within the story. There is much soul searching angst thrown in too as Sam and Willow emotionally flounder at times. It also teased the reader with a second couple whose romance never really got off the ground in this book but enticed me to hope that the next book concerns them. I will certainly be looking for it to read.

Rescue Me is a riveting story filled with complex and flawed characters who need rescuing in some way. Besides the obvious physical rescue, there is a deeper spiritual one shown. I appreciate the complexity of the characters and the relationships that they were working through. The sibling relationships were a complete contrast between the brothers and the sisters. The romance builds slowly having to work through obstacles. The two most incompatible people fit together beautifully. The story is rounded out with a strong convincing supporting cast.

While the author is not preachy this is definitely a wonderful Christian story.

Susan May Warren has written a Bite-Your-Fingers to Keep Your Teeth From Chattering, Exciting,  Christian SAR (Search And Rescue) Romance in, "Rescue Me (Montana Rescue Book #2)". Revel published the story 1/31/2017. I didn't read the 1st book in the series, but SMW quickly pulled me into the storyline & its well defined characters.
I love the Title. Everyone who seeks Jesus forgiveness, grace, & help ask Him to, "Rescue Me". Sam Brooks seeks to help others, but he's mired in anger. Willow Rose lives to inspire her Church's Youth Group as it's leader. But her impulsiveness has lead from one major tragedy to another. Can Sam & Willow find a love to last a lifetime in each other? Do they miss God's miracles in their lives, from unworthy feelings? Read the story to find out.
I couldn't put this fastastic story down until I finished it. I loved, loved, loved this book, & highly recommend it. I can't  wait to read more of SMW's stories. Although I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley, I'm voluntarily choosing to review it.

Rescue Me, written by Susan May Warren, is book two in the Montana Rescue Series.

I was so looking forward to this continuation after reading about Ben and Kacey's story from book one. This story about Sam, Sierra, Willow, Pete, Jess, Ty and so many more...was just as expected....edge of the seat! Warren takes us on an adventure from our own homes through the lives of the crazy life-saving SAR team!

If these characters aren't in the middle of repelling down a mountainside, or running away from a crazed bear or trying to stay warm in a sudden ice storm...you'll find them trying to figure out just who is the one that they should be falling in love with. Sam is the ever dependable Sheriff who is always responsible...who has the hots for Sierra and Sierra is trying to care for Sam, but she still has feelings for Ian...then there's Sierra's sister, Willow, who's always had a crush on Sam, but she's been raised in a commune by her flower child mother and Willow depends on God for everything yet everyone thinks she's a bit flighty.

If you want a highly adventurous story, this book is for you. If you're looking for romance...yep, it's definitely not lacking in most every scene!

I was given this book through Netgalley. All thoughts and comments are my own.

I love this series. I gobble up these books as soon as they are out and as fast as I can. This book in particular lends itself to be gobbled. It's full on, non stop and fast paced from the very beginning. Seriously- it was like a action/drama on steroids! It was hard to put down.

Sam and Willow are both such great characters. Opposite in a lot of ways, but so good for each other. Sam doesn't get on board with this plan for quite awhile so we have to sit by and watch with frustration as he bumbles up pretty much everything when it comes to Willow. But, even when bumbling, Sam is a hero, a protector, a larger than life character that steals your heart. Watching him fight his demons and ultimately win was very satisfying.

Willow is one of my favorites. She has such enthusiasm and joy, it's hard not to like her. She wears her heart on her sleeve and I love that. She genuinely cares about others and wants to help wherever she can. I want Willow to be my friend.

And, like I said above, this book is full of action packed drama. I was all sorts of worked up! I can't wait for the next book!! (July)

Content: Christian Fiction so there was talk of God and religious things. Some peril and mild violence. Kissing.

- I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was under no obligation to review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Plenty of action, adventure and romantic entanglements kept this story interesting from beginning to the end!
Love how this author skillfully uses the situations to illustrate spiritual truths, like parallels between a search and rescue operation, and the need for a Savior. The beautiful setting of the Rocky Mountains in Glacier National Park is a great place for many such perilous scenarios too. Felt like the characters had a lot going on, with discussions about relationships and spiritual struggles, but it was balanced well with a lot of action, so didn't bog down at all; it made the people seem real, with all of their ups and downs. Willow was my favorite person in the story, with her sincere faith, desire to help teens, and underlying insecurities. She's someone I'd like to have as a friend in real life!
This is the second book in this exciting series, but it was fine to read as a stand alone. It helped to have read the prequel for some background however; there is also a bit of a spoiler from the quick summary of book one. I plan on going back and read that one to fill in the details.
Recommend to anyone who enjoys Christian romances with action! 4.5 stars

This is a review of Rescue Me by Susan May Warren. This is part of the series Montana Rescue Book #2
Deputy Sam Brooks is a liaison between the Mercy Falls sheriff's department and PEAK Rescue. This is Sam and Willow story. Even though Sam is currently dating her sister Sierra; Sierra however is dating Sam to try to get over her boss who is still obsessed with trying to find his niece whose been missing. I know it probably sounds like a soap opera. But it's very well done.
You can empathize with Willow and her insecurities. And you cannot help but love her for her free spirit, her desire to help the young kids, and her positive attitude.
Sam and his brother Pete still have issues from when their father died on a skiing accident with them. Sam blames Pete and harbors so much anger still.
There were some very funny things regarding Pete's and Sam and the bear.
If you have been following the story you'll be excited that Chet is doing so much better. I also felt the author did a very good job of not making the characters cliché. The young youth group leader was well done character. We’ve already met the cast of characters.
I love the story between Pete and just as much as the story of Sam and Sierra. The author trickles in just enough information about jess’s backstory but I'm hoping we get a lot more in the next book. There are a lot of characters but they're easy to keep track of.
Although you get a complete story with Sam and Sierra, the author leaves an earth shattering closing that you cannot wait to read the next book.

Loved this book and the series. As good as the Christiansen series. Didn't want it to end and looking forward to next. I hope Susan stays up late to write it! Several times had quotes or thoughts that I could have highlighted to go back to.
