A good book for anyone interested in the practice of yoga. Also good for anyone looking to infuse their life with mindfulness practice and just generally looking for a more fulfilling experience.
So let me get to the point I tired to give this book a chance but it had things that turned me off. His comment regarding eczema and heart attacks occur because we don't breathe deeply enough is a long shot. Stating that "breathing correctly is more powerful than any food, medicine, or treatment you could ever have" is just misleading. The topics where nothing life changing and he promotes his stuff which always is a dislike on it own to me. Your work should speak for itself and if I am really interested I will pick up the other books.
There are daily practices in the book and some are good. There are some insightful things in the book but not that many. I just felt this book didn't hit the mark for me.
The Yogi Code: Seven Universal Laws of Infinite Success by Yogi Cameron introduces us to seven principles that we can incorporate into our modern lives to bring peace and move towards more enlightened living.
Each of the chapters has a summary at the end as well as practices we can incorporate into our lives. We are taught the importance of daily practice. This is one of my favorite concepts as it shows us the importance of starting and ending our day with a mindful approach to our actions and improving ourselves.
I really liked how these practices can be used in our modern times and are meant for a modern yogi and not one that is secluded from the world. I would recommend this book for anyone wanting to live a more spiritual life.
I acknowledge that I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
I felt this guide had too many strict guidelines and must/should dos instead of loving suggestions for a yogi-lifestyle. Thank you for the copy.
