This is written well enough, though clearly I should stop requesting to review anything in this genre. Not much new to ponder in these pages, but for those who do well with hearing similar messages repeated in order to self-improve, I expect this will be well-received. Not for me, but definitely good for some. Thanks for the opportunity to review this book.
Isaac Lidsky seems like a great guy. His writing style is likable, enjoyable, and conversational. For a Harvard educated lawyer, I might have expected something a bit more stuffy.
Lidsky is very real in his presentation. He laughs about the true tales behind his year as a teenage celebrity, He shares his moments of doubt and anger upon learning he was going blind. He affirms what it means to embrace the fear instead of letting it rule over you. To live with Eyes Wide Open.
Lidsky has a great many stories and ideas, but they don't always congeal together. I can see where a reader might see this as a "hardship occurs, and somehow Lidsky still overcomes the obstacle and achieves success." His book is definitely more of a philosophical look as opposed to a self help book, but it fights to maintain what the overall thesis should be. There are some great sections of the book that would be helpful to a parent or teacher with their kids.
I did enjoy reading Eyes Wide Open, but I don't know if I would go back and read it again.
