The 2nd installment in this series was very enjoyable but in all honesty I was ready for it to be over and not dragged on into another book as it is a lot of the same. Casey is still on the run and is still finding people to help, the situation she is trying to remedy is heartbreaking, the parents of the little girl abused are so awful it was heartbreaking to read! Even though this is a work of fiction I know there are situations like this that happens and that is heartbreaking!
This book is part of a series and while I never read book one, it really didn’t hinder too much as I dove into this one.
This is the first time I’ve read this author and she’s very good at the intrigue and suspense. The pace of the story was very fast and for me there was never a dull moment. There is always something happening and plenty of twists to keep you wondering what was going to happen next.
I loved the character of Dylan. He is caring and understanding. His belief in Casey was refreshing as well as his belief in God.
Casey was a kind and compassionate woman who believed fiercely in caring for others. She was strong and intuitive and I can see where her and Dylan would make the perfect couple. Hint Hint
This book had a few surprises in it that kept me intrigued throughout the whole story. This is one author that I will definitely read again. Plenty of detail, suspense, and interesting turn of events made this a wonderful read. The bad news is we have to wait for book three for a complete conclusion!
I have never read anything by Terri Blackstock and now I've become a fan! Loved this book! You have to read If I run first and then read this book to get the full story they are not stand alones. I loved from the first page If I run and I was so glad the next book was out for me to read because I ran thru both books in one weekend. Loved the suspense of Keegan chasing Casey and Dylan trying to help her. This book has twists and turns that I couldn't put it down! Highly recommend if you love a good thriller. If I could give more then five stars I would!!!!!
If I’m found is the second book in Terri Blackstock’s If I Run series. The story picks up where the second book leaves off,. While you could jump into the story with this book, I recommend that you start with the first book, so that you don’t miss all the interesting details and ongoing action.
The story smoothly moves back and forth between the two main characters. They are both very likeable, caring people and I found myself rooting for them; although, quite honestly, their ability to take the bad guys down seems very improbable at this point. The odds are stacked so high against them it seems as if they will be lucky to even live much longer. Blackstock had me reading long into the night with this one and picking up the book whenever I had even a few minutes to spare. The ending did not neatly tie everything up, and the next book is sure to pick up with an exciting opening. I hope it comes out soon.
Since this is a Christian fiction book, there were details about the Christian life such as faith and prayer. I appreciated that the author incorporated belief into her book, and having one of the characters wrestle with where she stood as far as faith was concerned, was a nice touch. You also won’t find cursing or sex in this book which really just goes to show you that you can have an edge-of-your-seat thriller without making it trashy. (I hope some of the authors who feel “sex sells” read this comment!)
Don’t forget to read the author’s message at the end. I appreciated how she shared a bit of herself, and a message that I found helpful.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good, clean story.
I was so pumped when I got an email from Zondervan Publishing approving me to review this book. I’ve been waiting to read it since I finished the first one last year. And for those of you who don’t know me, I’m a HUGE fan of Terri’s books. I’ve read almost every book she’s written and personally own quite a few, so being able to review this book before the publishing date had me a bit excited.
Casey Cox is a wanted fugitive for supposedly killing her best friend, Brent Pace. Upon finding him dead in his home, and figuring out she’s been set up for a murder she didn’t commit, Casey goes into hiding. ‘If I’m Found’ is the continuation in Terri’s latest series, ‘If I Run’. In this second installment, Casey is still hiding from those who have destroyed her life. She’s also trying to gain evidence against them. With the help of private investigator, Dylan Roberts, (who was hired to bring Cox in) they start to build a case against detectives Keegan and Rollins, the people who did this to her. Together, Dylan and Casey try to bring justice to everyone that have been harmed, including Casey. As in the previous book, Casey is still putting herself at risk by helping those who need it even if it means exposing who she is, while also finding help and comfort for herself through a loving God she’s just starting to find out exists. This book had the perfect blend of action, suspense, mystery, and romance.
I loved everything about the book; from Casey running for her very life, to helping save a little girl and a family wrongly accused, to sitting in a church pew learning more about this God who keeps showing up in her life in more ways than one, to Dylan who is constantly trying to protect and help her. And speaking of Dylan… Oh man, where do I start? He is everything you’d hope for in a guy. He fights for truth-even if the world thinks he’s wrong. He helps those who need it most, loves people who least expect it, and most importantly, he doesn’t give up in what he believes. I also really enjoyed meeting Dylan’s friend, Dex. He was such a loyal, kind, and understanding friend. Definitely someone you would want beside you during life’s trials.
As for the plot, it was very well thought out and developed throughout the book. I was nearly always on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Of course, you had those points in the story where it wasn’t action-packed or suspenseful, but mattered just the same.
“Yes, it blows my mind. I don’t know why I’m wiping tears, but I’ve never felt quite like this before. Sitting in here in this place {church} gives me the most peace I’ve felt in years-maybe a decade, maybe more. I haven’t really had peace since my dad died. There’s been a bitterness eating a hole deep in me, burning the edges of my insides. But here I feel as if that heaviness is lifted, as if I can think more clearly. I can feel a power greater than me working right in front of me…and even through me. Maybe God does care about me after all.”
Over all, this book was well written. Definitely looking forward to reading the next book! And something I’ve always enjoyed while reading Christian fiction is that I can always take something from it that I can use in my own life. In this case, Casey, on advice from Dylan, forced herself to start noticing how God was working in her life. It definitely convicted me, because that’s honestly not something I do, and it should be. As Christians, we should try our best to see how God is working in our lives. And then thank Him for what He has done.
Terri even explained in her author’s note how she was going through some things and how a friend encouraged her with this truth. “Starting immediately, thank God for every gift He gives, from those as small as a whiff of honeysuckle or jasmine in your backyard, to the realization that you just had a few moments without back pain, to really big things like the fact that the people you love are in the next room safe and sound.”
“I’m talking about the practice of intentional gratitude. Intentional, because it involves an aggressive effort to remain aware of God’s gifts as you move through your day, and to actively acknowledge each gift with a simple ‘Thank You.’”
*I recommend this book for ages 13+*
I’d like to thank NetGalley and Zondervan Publishing for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
The only negative I can find is that this is the second in a trilogy so the wait continues to discover what will be Casey’s end game and who is going to survive a cross country chess match between her and the authorities; particularly when the authorities aren’t always on the right side of the law they should be upholding.
Due to the nature of this story it’s an absolute must that you read these books in order or important clues, backstory and context will be missed not to mention the character development that has been carefully put in place to help explain motivations and personalities.
The suspense and action continue from the first book as action movie like sequences abound to keep you glued to the pages. Abuse, guns, car accidents, car chases, fake identities and near death experiences will ensure boredom is NOT a word used to describe your feelings for this novel. Her dialogue is realistic and will add to the adrenaline rush as you’re able to experience what these characters are going through.
The suspenseful drama is so intriguing it’ll be worth the wait for that third book to emerge to put an end to our eager anticipation. Along with the main story line in the book of Casey’s search for the truth and to clear her name there is also a moving look at the effect of PTSD on our Veterans through character development. Even though it’s not a focal point Terri Blackstock still manages to handle it with respect and grace. The two person perspective used in her first two books provides for a wider view of the story and the full impact on everyone involved which thankfully she’s pulled off so it adds to the story rather than taking away from it.
Along with all the action Blackstock, gives a voice to those situations no one wants to talk about when the legal system gets tunnel vision and doesn’t care about the guilt or innocence of a person, just that a person gets held responsible for the mess.
I have enjoyed Terri Blackstock's writing for many years and was excited to see this book because I wanted to see what happened after the last book, If I Run, ended. Blackstock has a great way of building suspense and plopping her readers down into the action. I would not hesitate to recommend her work to anyone.
The adventures of Casey and Dylan continue to provide a high level of entertainment. If you haven’t read book one in the series, though, please do so before picking up If I’m Found. Both are outstanding Christian thrillers, and everything I wrote in my review of If I Run applies to its sequel. I won’t risk giving anything away by delving into the plot, but be assured that you’re in for another suspenseful outing as the mystery deepens and the danger mounts.
As in the first book, this story unfolds through the eyes of several narrators. What Terri Blackstock does as well as or better than any of her contemporaries is recognize where to end an arc of chapters devoted to the same speaker. Some authors — most in fact — who employ this device choose to cut off their narrator at cliff’s edge and proceed directly to another character’s viewpoint, thereby ensuring that the reader remains in suspense. Or so they hope. Too often, what actually happens is the reader’s interest level plunges as the next chapter begins, and that chapter becomes a stumbling block, interrupting our concern about a character’s fate. Blackstock sticks with her narrator until the current crisis finds, if not resolution, then a natural resting place. It’s as if she composes long chapters, and later divides them into shorter ones, keeping them unbroken by other narrators. This gives the reader the ability to dive wholeheartedly into a narrative arc knowing she won’t be jerked out of it prematurely.
Where If I’m Found outdoes its predecessor is in its religious discussions. If I Run did not hide its light by any means, but here, as the characters grow closer to God and begin to see His hand active in their lives, the meaning and power of Christian faith are expounded upon in greater detail. Such is the author’s ability that never does anything seem contrived about those moments; instead, they occur as part of the familiar and inborn path one travels when moving towards a fuller understanding and a deeper faith. At the conclusion of the book, there’s even a multi-page author’s note where Blackstock discusses her personal efforts at striving to see God in everything and giving thanks to Him. It’s an excellent wrap-up to the novel and reminds the reader that the three hundred plus pages she has just read contained more than a fictional story. (To emphasize: Last year, I placed my review of If I Run on ReadLove‘s “Fiction Shelves”; this time around, If I’m Found has landed squarely in our “Christian Chapters” category.)
I’ll end this review paraphrasing the sentence I used to conclude my review of the first novel: When the final page is turned, the reader feels perfectly satisfied with the present book, but is eagerly looking forward to the next!
Verdict: 5 of 5 Hearts. Top-Notch Christian Suspense That Teaches and Inspires.
It’s another heart-pounding, page-turning Christian thriller from the pen of Terri Blackstock. But If I’m Found is more than its sub-genre. It’s the story of two people learning to trust God and each other while battling seemingly impossible odds, their wits their only weapon, their faith their only shield.

Overall, decent book. The second book in a three-part story, If I’m Found is exactly that: the second installment of a three-part story. I had fun reading most of it, up until I got depressed for Casey when reading the climax/mini-conclusion (mini-conclusion because it was the conclusion of this book, not of the whole story) and took a break from the book for a few days. I feel like toward the end things got very dark kind of suddenly, which is fine, but the darkness happening how it did didn’t make a lot of sense or could have been improved without major changes, which is not fine. Case in point: After Casey’s disguise is blown and pictures of her in the wigs make their rounds on the news, how come the news reporters to whom she gave the Whittington-Trendall-Fred tip did not make the connection between her in the wig and the tip that opened that case? Or have security video of her in disguise entering the news building with the papers and leaving after dropping them off, or of the Trendalls attacking her outside the building? That would have made sense plus wonderfully linked the mini-story of this book with the mini-story of its predecessor.
Also, one of my favorite things about Casey from the first book is how in control and independent and proactive she is. Casey makes a decision and follows through on it. She does not dither about trying to think of an easier thing to do, nor does she wait around for other people to think for her: Casey sees the hard truth for what it is, accepts it, and gets on with what she has to do. I felt like some of that was lost in this book after she and Dylan met up, and suddenly she followed his lead on where to go and what to do. And I knew Dylan would be involved in saving her again, but I was kind of hoping that this time they could save Ava and themselves together, instead of Casey going in alone and needing rescuing at the eleventh hour. I get that she is tired and injured and sad, but she is also strong and smart and brave.
Different subject, the author does an impressive job of balancing the alternating points of view. She refrained from only dwelling on Dylan’s background, which I feel like a lot of authors do when writing the point of view of the minor primary character, and she gave him current issues in his non-Casey-related life to deal with. Giving him those issues, and letting them take up some of his time, was very realistic.
So again, overall a decent book. I look forward to finishing the story with the third book.
If I Run, the first book in the series, left us dangling from a cliff wondering what would happen to Casey Cox next. If I’m Found picks up where If I Run left off. Casey is still on the run, fleeing prosecution for a murder she didn’t commit. If you haven't read the first book, have no fear. You can read this one as a stand-alone.
Dylan Roberts is still on Casey’s trail, but his secret emails insist that he knows the truth and wants to help her. Casey continues to work to collect evidence about the murder she is accused of. However, as she does in the first book, Casey stumbles upon a situation that doesn’t involve her case, but is one she can’t walk away from. Casey risks her own safety to right this wrong, but doing so is risky and may result in her capture. I enjoyed this side story. The twist, turns and suspense of the book come more from these events than from Casey’s case. One part of me couldn’t help thinking though that Casey should worry about saving herself! The other part was proud of her for putting others needs above her own.
Fast paced and suspenseful, I read If I’m Found in a day. I needed to know if Casey would finally clear her name? Or would she continue to run? Would the sparks that seemed to fly between her and Dylan ignite? All these questions are answered … sort of. There is a third book scheduled for this series, so there is more of Casey’s story to come. I’m eagerly awaiting the conclusion to Casey’s story. She has to stop running eventually, right?
Wow..... That's all I can say.... Wow!
This book just kept getting more and more intense as I kept reading.
It's full of action, suspense, drama. There were times I wanted to cry and times I wanted to scream at the characters! Terri Blackstock has written another fantastic spell binding book.
It will keep you reading until the last page..... Well at least it did for me!
If I’m Found picks up right where If I Run ended, with Casey Cox still running from evil men that are out to get her. What has changed? She may have an ally now, but she’s not yet sure if she can trust him. Terri Blackstock is a master of this genre and her writing keeps you reading and longing to finish reading even when your to do list prevents it. I would not recommend this book as a stand alone novel. Take the time to read book one, you will not regret it! My only regret in reading this book is the long wait until the next book comes out. Honestly, this is the kind of book I like to read once all books in the series have been released, so that I can read them all at once. I look forward to book 3, as well as other books by this author. I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
A fugitive on the run!
'If I'm Found' is the second book in a series of three. It features Casey Cox, a fugitive on the run. She has been accused of a murder she didn't commit and we learn of her stoic personality and resourcefulness as she continues with her quest for justice.
Casey is pursued by Dylan Roberts, an interesting Private Investigator who suffers from PTSD after a spell in Afghanistan. Does Dylan believe that Casey is guilty or can Casey gain his trust? The relationship between the two of them unravels and Casey has to prove that two bent cops actually need investigating!
This thriller has all the elements of suspense, high emotions, tension, even religion and possibly romance. Coupled with the main plot, Casey becomes involved in solving another crime involving a rather suicidal man, an abused child and some evil persecutors. She tends to put others before herself, even at her own peril.
I awarded four stars because I hadn't read the previous book in this series. Therefore, I recommend that you should read 'If I Run' first to gain more of an insight into the characters.

This is the second book in the Casey Cox "If I Run" series and I really like this series. However, I am not liking the fact that this poor girl has been running for two books now. Can somebody please give this girl a break? Ha! JK Actually, I would really like to see that Keegan guy get his just desserts - what an A$$.
This was definitely a suspenseful book. There were plenty of hold your breath moments going on. Car chases, jumping out windows to escape, child abuse, drug dealers with guns, cars being run off the road, innocents being brought in for questioning, disguises, changing hotels nightly - sometimes twice a night, etc. I mean we are talking some serious action going on in this book. The only thing I didn't like - there's a book 3. Casey is still on the run. However, if the author keeps the suspense and the drama going like she has - it will be worth the wait!
Thanks to Zondervan Fiction for approving my request and to Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.
Most nights, I fall asleep reading a book. But once in a while, a story comes along that pulls me in so deeply, I forget about rest. I want to know what happens next.
If I’m Found by Terri Blackstock was one of those books. I could not put it down and finished it in one night.
Readers meet Casey Cox in the first book, If I Run. A young woman who flees the scene of the murder of her best friend. We also learned how intelligent Casey is and got a peek of her tender heart toward injustice.
Now, as Casey continues to hide from people who will surely kill her when/if they do find her, she works to uncover the truth of who killed her friend. She’s on her own with no one to trust. Though she wants to trust Dylan Roberts. The PI who found her but let her go.
Blackstock once again takes readers on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Through discoveries and close calls—a little too close for comfort sometimes—readers follow Casey through difficult choices, a little depression and glimpses of hope. Through it all, she remains true to herself. A suspense that left me on the edge of my seat, up late at night, and wanting more.
What’s the release date for the next book in the series?

IF I'M FOUND by Terri Blackstock.Anther thriller that catches you from first page. Casey on the run, needs to ditch car, needs sleep. A hotel that's probably not even a one star, dark lot in back for car. Dylan hired to find her, but believes she innocent, lets her slip. Police within 5 states on look out for her. Email lets her know he believes she is innocent, she didn't commit murder. Can she disguise herself enough, while collecting solid evidence, against the murderers. She stumbles upon an abused child, will this destroy her chances of freeing herself. Evil surrounds her, she doesn't know who to trust. Will she even get out alive. A delightful thriller, once again. by Terri Blackstock. Given ARC by Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Thought the beginning was slow but it picked up quickly. Have always enjoyed this author and I am looking forward to the conclusion of this series.
My review of this title will be short, sweet and straightforward.
The first book in the series, If I Run, was "unputdownable"and I anxiously awaited book 2. However, it seemed to me to just be a kind of "filler" book before we get to the end of Dylan and Casey's story in book 3. I guess authors sign a contract to write a three-book series and that's what they have to do. But in this case, guess I wish we could've just cut to the chase and had a conclusion to the story. Book also seemed quite short.
Only reason I would get it for my library is that it's part of a series and I already have book one.
This is #2 in the "If I Run" series. The first book builds suspense.
This book continues the excitement and will keep you running.
Love the inspiration and reminders of God.
I have shared many of her same feelings sitting in church or reading my Bible.
PTSD is an important element of this series and we need to learn more how to help PTSD victims.
Terri Blackstock's books are filled with inspiration.
I am looking forward to her next one.
