I struggled a bit with this and decided to come back to it. Haven’t done that nothing changed. I could hardly agree with any suggestions, points made, in fact it was irritating.

Sorry there was nothing that help me at all here.

One of my favorite of Doreen's books, although it does go off on tangents still. Focuses primarily on the attachment to drama due to some form of trauma, and then how to work through it.

Some chapters I felt were more helpful than others. The one focusing on the Bright/Dark Yin/Yang was especially enlightening, while the work surrounding food, histamines and the need for drama was also something new-to-me. Alternatively, the whole section on Getting Support felt thin, I wanted more here, especially if I were still attached to drama like I used to be.

A few phrases stuck out as being adversarial or even defeatest - which seemed counter to the book's premise. One in particular stung more than the rest, something about "back to therapy" if you hadn't done XYZ yet regarding romantic relationships. While I understood what the author meant, I didn't feel the comment (while intended to be a joke) that lighthearted or supportive for someone struggling with reducing the drama in their lives in order to attract a loving partnership.

All in all, I'd recommend this book. It's written with a simple, straightforward focus, and takes otherwise woo-woo topics and makes them seem like no big deal. The subtitle, I feel, described the book more than the actual title.

This was a great book. It offered some insight into drama addicts and dealing with people who are addicted to drama. It also offered some advice on how to deal with drama addicts and how to keep your sparkle throughout all life. I recommend it. I received an advance copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

DON'T LET ANYTHING DULL YOUR SPARKLE BY DOREEN VIRTUE

This book was marketed as in the subtitle: How to Break free of Negativity and Drama. The book mostly talked about the different types of traumas, complex trauma, PTSD. This book wasn't a good fit for me. Those dealing with PTSD and different types of trauma might find it helpful. I did learn about histamine and how that can be damaging to your body. Like cortisol, histamine isn't good for you and this book is helpful as it gives a list of Histamine food.

The book's author gives a kind and gentle approach when discussing trauma and steps one can take to help with trauma.

Thank you to Net Galley, Doreen Virtue and the Publisher for providing me with a digital copy in exchange for an honest and fair r

This book wasn't for me. Doreen Virtue lists various ways that one may lower histamine levels including: major dietary changes, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, certain types of exercise, therapy, dry cleaning chemicals, what types of plastic bottles to drink from, what types of television programs to expose yourself to, what types of make up to wear and much, much more. I hope that the readers who are looking for this type of information find Don't Let Anything Dull Your Sparkle because it is one of the most complete types of books of this kind that I've ever read.

The thing is, I could make myself crazy if I tried to control all of that stuff. I've discovered, through my own life, that if I do the inner work of feeling better then external circumstances sort of fall into place on their own without me dancing around trying to make it so. Don't get me wrong- I am all for self care. Regular massages, aromatherapy, professional therapy, organic foods, support groups, whatever you need to make yourself feel better, do it. I just don't need to adjust those things to sparkle.
