This was a tough book for me to get interested in- mainly due to it being the last book in the series & I hadn't read the previous books. I felt like I was missing a lot. The story itself was good & I wouldn't mind reading more by Sandra Blazo.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A delightful mystery that captures the reader from page one. The coffee house is a fun element to these mysteries and the sleuth is well crafted with many elements to surprise even the most avid mystery fan. I loved the setting, the characters how each character added depth to the story and the sleuth. The clues will keep you guessing as our intrepid sleuth solves the case. Well Done. ! Thank you for the advance reading copy with gratitude. I look forward to the next in series.
Maggy Thorsen has a complicated life filled with people she'd connected with... even if she doesn't really like them. This may be why, when her ex-husband's ex-partner falls -- or jumps -- to his death, she finds herself embroiled in the mystery.
As skeletons pop out of closets whose owners surely thought their secrets were securely in the past, Maggy can't agree with the local law enforcement's view of the crime -- even though she's dating the detective in charge of the case. Her relationships are threatened on every side, and her life may be in danger, too, but Maggy can't give up till the truth is out.
The characters in the story aren't particularly likeable, but the puzzle is clever and the clues drew me in. I look forward to more of Maggy.
