I just loved this book. Such a cute story and just the perfect amount of tension between Addison and Felix. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Addison Turner works at a dachshund shelter while trying to achieve fame for her doggie design enterprise. While attending a gala event wherein she hopes to garner the interest of dog owners for her designs via a fashion show, Addison also trolls around for a possible "love connection". Unfortunately, the only male attention she gets is from Felix, the bartender, who warns her away from all of the potential suitors she sees.

Things turn ugly when several of Addison's doggie fashion models go missing and the finger of suspicion falls on Addie herself. Now she needs to prove her innocence and the only ones who believe her are her friends for the shelter and Felix. What to do? What to do? Read it for yourself and find out!!

Cute cozy romance with some mystery thrown in. I liked the two main characters and found the storyline interesting and entertaining.

BEAUTY AND THE WIENER by Casey Griffin is a cute story that’s part mystery mixed with the right amount of warmth and emotion at the end. Animal lovers will appreciate this mad little caper for its suspense and humor.

Addison Turner is looking for love in all the wrong places. Can being forced to work with bartender Felix, who is everything she doesn’t want in a husband, turn out to be the best happy accident? A fun escapade through the professional dog show circuit when dogs keep disappearing and the characters scramble to solve who done it.

Addison is quirky and silly with girly-girl habits and fantasies, always searching for her prince charming. She pushed my annoyance buttons at first, because I’m not into girly-girl froufrou. All her fuss and unrealistic expectations for the perfect man was sometimes exasperating, yet I hoped she’d discover the truth – that the perfect man was right under her nose, and not what she was searching for at all.

Felix made me laugh several times. He knew what Addison needed when she didn’t recognize it herself. He seemed like a playboy and unambitious in the beginning, but as his backstory is revealed the reader can’t help but fall hard for him right along with Addison.

At 400 pages, this story feels a bit too long. The plot isn’t overly done but the description is too much, as well as the inner thoughts stalling the story. Those two areas could have pared down the pages to make the tale flow faster for this reader.

This is one of those novels that grows on you. Addison is goofy and I couldn’t relate to her fairy tale wants half the time, but she has many good attributes, such as a kind heart and her love of animals. Felix is a real surprise. I liked him even more after his secret is revealed.

Even though there is too much inner dialogue from Addison’s point of view for my taste, I really enjoyed the suspense and the characters more than the first book. I think animal lovers will enjoy this RESCUE DOG ROMANCE series because its focus on the animals and the humor is hard to resist. Check out book one, MUST LOVE WIENERS, for double your pleasure.

Beauty and the Wiener is the second in the Rescue Dog series by Casey Griffin. I adored the first book & was excited to read this one. I will admit this one took a while to get good, the opening seemed a little tedious. But I stuck with it & really enjoyed the rest of the book. Felix & Addison are an interesting pair & as they work together to find the missing dogs from the dog show Addison was the groomer for it was fun to watch them fall in love.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

4 Much? Stars.
Addison Turner has her life planned and mapped out to the last detail. She is an up and coming dog stylist. With her soon to be Fido Fashion to come out. Her new mission is to find her dream man and she comes over as slightly desperate okay very desperate.
After a tragic incident at the age of twenty two she has decided to pursue her dream of a family but is still looking for the one. She wants her life to be a blockbuster Hollywood and a romantic comedy so not only is she desperate but also delusional and picks Phillip Montgomery III. Might I add Addison there was no relationship between the two of you. Your imagination is running slightly wild here.
Felix Vaughn is the bartender at the mixer that Addison is working at. He is a fantastic Hero. Cocky but not too cocky. He has dreams and he is all doing it for his little girl. Such a beautiful surprise. I love Dad’s with kids trope. Felix is funny and knows how to push all of Addison’s buttons so that she isn’t as uptight as she makes out to be.
“Looking for someone?” he asked. “Yes. I happen to be looking for Mr. Perfect.” “Well, it’s your lucky day,” he said. “You’ve found him.” Falling for it, she glanced back at him. He spread his arms outward, presenting himself. “Right her.”
But he also wants more and he has his eyes set on Addison. Don’t know why really but he must see something I don’t. His POV was missing.
To clear her name she asks Felix for help. As he is a fountain of information.
“I want information.” “Well I’m thirty one, I like sports-the 49ers are my favourite team-I love music. The classics, mostly. You know, Rolling Stones, Zeppelin, Journey. Oh, and don’t forget banana pancakes with caramel chocolate chips after a sleep-in on Sundays.” “No not that kind of information.” “Well, we can get a little more personal, if you like. But you’ll have to buy me dinner first.”
Addison is extremely judgemental towards Felix and he didn’t deserve one iota of that. Felix isn’t the court jester he has been the prince all along. Addison needs to come to terms with what dreams are and that reality are two different things. Her Dad is spot on:
“With enough love, you can make it through anything. There’s more to life than money.”
The plot of the book is that there is a dognapper out there and Addison is a prime suspect. After a second dognapping incident Felix is also a prime suspect. They are now in cahoots with one another. So they decide to clear both of their names and find the dognapper. With trying to solve a crime and Addison trying to deal with what she wants and balancing against what she needs. Felix is a saint. Although I found the heroine to be really annoying I prefer this book to the first one. For me there was one too many times were miscommunications arose and then the dognapping turns into kidnapping. I didn’t guess the culprit of the book that hello asylum you are getting a new patient.
Ms. Griffin has written a sweet, sexy, funny read with a to die for Hero. She has given each and every single dog in the book her own character that they are so unique you want to go out and got yourself a Doxie.

This was a delightfully funny book about dogs and their humans. Addison Turner owned a pet spa and designed a line of upscale canine clothing. She had her life planned out and was looking for her Prince Charming. Everything was running smoothly until a group of highly prized dogs were stolen right from under her nose, not once but twice and she became a suspect in their disappearance. Not only were her career aspirations in jeopardy but her hopes of finding Mr. Right were looking iffy, too.

Felix Vaughn was a hot-looking bartender whom Addison had met and kept turning up in her life. He seemed to be everywhere she was and he was nothing like her Mr. Perfect should be but there was definite chemistry between them. Then he becomes a suspect when another group of dogs is stolen. Felix and Addison team up to solve the crime and clear their names but as they spend more time together could their search for the perfect "mate" be right in front of them?

I enjoyed this story very much. Although it wasn't what I would consider a completely clean romance, it was not as descriptive as others that I have had to skip parts of.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oooooof, this one did not work for me. I loved the quirk of the first one, but it all fell flat for me in this one. Not only did I hate the heroine the whole way through, but I didn't buy the chemistry of the hero and heroine for a minute. I think i'll try the author again, but I'll be more wary the next time.

A TAIL AS OLD AS TIME...

Addison Turner has scripted a perfect future for herself, complete with a fairytale ending. She will become the name in doggie fashion design and live happily ever after with the husband of her dreams--and her dachshund, Princess, by her side. Just when her plan is on track and she's gaining recognition at the local dog show, Addison is hit with some Oscar-worthy drama. A group of prize-winning show dogs are stolen from under her nose, and she's stuck asking for help from Felix Vaughn, an infuriatingly hot bartender who is the exact opposite of Prince Charming.

When more dogs go missing--and Felix becomes a suspect--the two team up to clear their names. Although Felix and Addison fight like cats and dogs, there's an undeniable spark between them. And as the trail to the missing dogs heats up, so does their red-hot chemistry. Can Addison be persuaded to throw away her script to find an ending that just might be better than she ever expected?

I thought this book was going to be like Beauty and the Beast and to a certain extent it is. I really like the mystery of it and the characters. The mystery is one of those that you know from the start who it is...well for me I did. It had some twists and turns and at no time did I think "I'm not finishing this!!" I wish I had read Must Love Wieners first but I didn't because I might have appreciated this more. This isn't a book that you sit down and can't finish in one day and feel just absolute bliss. It's one that you really read over several days and you might read a couple books in between. All in all, I thought the author did an awesome job keeping pace and keeping our attention. I'll definitely read the next one because while it wasn't a wild, sexy romance - not all the time do you need that and I'm not one who needs explicitness in my books. This is one I can recommend to my mom and not be embarrassed that it might have sex or cussing in it. Kudos Casey Griffin!!

This delightful, often hilarious, story was a cross between a cozy mystery and Rom-Com. The characters were quirky, the story intriguing in its premise of loosing numerous show dogs all at one time...and the ensuing search for the dog napper.

I enjoyed how Addison's mind worked and her dedication to her craft and Animals. You could feel her devastation when the dogs went missing, and then her frustrations in the twists and turns she encountered in her quest to clear her name. All in all a fun read that leaves with a light hearted feeling at the end.

I seriously loved every minute of this and was sad for it to end!!

Addison is a dog groomer - sorry, <i>stylist </i> - who is trying to expand her company and introduce her fashion line of clothing for dogs. She is also on the hunt for Mr. Right. While at an event for show dogs, she thinks she meets him and everything is going well for her until most of the dogs who were supposed to be showing a preview of her line disappear. There are two suspects - her, and the obnoxious but super sexy bartender, Felix (who isn't Mr. Right because he is too much Addison type). She pretty much makes him help her figure out who stole the dogs, and it's quite the adventure!

The mystery of this was good, though I had an inkling well before the reveal (I still second guessed though, so it was still fun!). The adventure and then suspense was seriously great and had me on the edge of my seat and staying up much too late because I had to know what happened.

And oh the romance! I loved the scorching-hot chemistry Addison amd Felix had but also the depth of their relationship and how they supported one another. Their banter had me laughing and really rooting for the two of them to work it out.

I really enjoyed the lack of serious drama from their past since there was plenty in their present, and it kept things focused on the present. Addison's resistance to the burning attraction between her and Felix, and how wrong she had things added a great layer to this too.

Really, I have to say it again: I loved Felix and the reasons he is on my list of awesome book boyfriends now just became more and more as the book went on. I couldn't help but see him as Robert Downey, Jr., which is my ideal hero. Cocky and funny, yet vulnerable. 😍

And the dogs! So cute! As a huge dog lover who considers her little dog part of the family, I thought every doggy aspect was perfect.

So, yes, this was fantastic and I highly recommend it!! 🐶❤

I admit I read this book because of the really cute cover. I haven't read the first book in the series and this book can be read as a stand alone. This was a cute little mystery with a romance in it. My biggest issue was that I just never connected to the heroine. I didn't dislike her but she was immature and her I'm going to meet the "perfect man" and he'll sweep me off my feet and we'll live happily every after with our dogs attitude was ridiculous and sounded like something a teen would think. I think she was supposed to come across as a dreamer but for me she just seemed flighty and immature. This made the romance hard for me to swallow as well and it didn't work for me. Both characters seemed to annoy each other and then misunderstand each other and get their feelings hurt a bit too much that it never really gave me the chemistry I was looking for.

The mystery side was a bit basic with lots of suspects but I thought the culprit was easy to figure out. The mystery just gave us a way to see Felix and Addison interact with each other.

Overall, if you like a light, fluffy read with some humor brought on by Addison's antics or you enjoyed the first book then this story will fit the bill.

You'll like this if you like cozies with dogs and romance. Addison is a bit over the top for me occasionally but she is devoted to Princess and to her business. You'll know as soon as you meet Felix at the bar that he's going to be important to the story and indeed he is; he's a good foil for Addison. It's light, it's entertaining, and it's a fast read. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC.

Loved this book! Of course, I love dogs so that helps too but this is a funny and enjoyable story. I have read the previous story so the author is not new to me but I am looking forward to more stories.
