I loved this book. It was super cute and sweet, A quick but great read for me, I love this entire series.
I liked the idea of this book - I thought the Wiccan parts were weaved into the story well, and the mystery came together likely. I was happy there was not a love triangle, and I also liked the friendships shown between women.
The only part I didn't like was the whole exploring in dangerous circumstances without telling anyone. That just happens to be a trope that happens all too often in mysteries, especially with women main characters.
I found the pace to be a bit slower than I usually like but, having enjoyed her previous book in the series, I adjusted to it. Keli's a lawyer with a secret, a secret that could ruin her life if it got out. The partners in her law firm would probably not be very open to having a witch on staff. How far can she go to help a friend in need and still hide her real self? Now that I have read two books about Keli, I'm sure I will pick up the series coming out in September 2017.

Goodreads synopsis:
A new year has barely begun and Edindale, Illinois, family law attorney Keli Milanni already has her hands full at work. But her private practice--as a Wiccan--may cause her worlds to collide...
The Wiccan holiday of Candlemas is right around the corner, but when vandals target New Age gift shop Moonstone Treasures, the mood is far from festive. Frightening threats and accusations of witchcraft aimed at the owner have some Wiccan patrons calling it a hate crime. And when things escalate to murder, the community turns to Keli...
As a friend and customer, Keli wants to help. But there's one problem: she's fiercely private about her religion. How can she stop the harassment, not to mention catch a killer, while keeping her faith hidden from her colleagues, clients, and her promising--and long awaited--new boyfriend? At a time meant to banish darkness, will Keli have to choose between risking the spotlight and keeping her beliefs locked in the proverbial broom closet? Or will she call on her deepest convictions to conjure the perfect path?...

Keli Milanni is not the typical heroine of a book series. She is a lawyer, yes, but she is also a Wiccan who practices her religion regularly. So, she knows all about tarot cards, and pagan symbols and rituals. And this is good because they really needed her expertise in this story. Keli finds herself in the middle of a mystery when he local new age shop, Moonstone Treasures, is vandalized with the word “witch”. What, are we in the dark ages?
Keli is a solitary Wicca, which means she does not belong to a coven (group) of witches. She takes her religion very seriously, but keeps it to herself. Not many know of her Wiccan ways, even her best friend, Farrah. So, when multiple businesses get burglarized, Keli finds herself more drawn into the mystery.
This book was fast-paced and really kept my attention. The background of the heroine was one I hadn’t seen in books before an that made this unique and a refreshing change from the norm. People are scared of what they don’t know and Keli’s religion won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. There is a stigma and fear attached to anything new age and I applaud the author for having the courage to goo this unconventional route.
I would be interested in seeing future books get more into her Wiccan ways and maybe introduce oracle or tarot cards more fully since those readings have seemed to boom on YouTube in the last few years.
I would definitely recommend this book. The author writes a flowing, easy-to-read text and creates captivating, thought provoking characters that everyone will remember.
I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) from NetGalley in return for an honest review. I thank NetGally, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.
I haven't read any of Jennifer David Hesse's books before and unfortunately I won't be reading any more of this series. Reading about witchcraft in the depth described isn't my cup of tea and I'm sorry to say I didn't finish this book as it didn't interest me. I have read books about witchcraft before but they only touch on the subject and this book was a little deep for me personally.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this book.
Keli Milanni is an attorney and keeps her Wiccan side private. Problem if Kelli's best friend, Farrah, isn't a witch and doesn't know that Kelli is, that's a problem for me, If they don't like her because of it, they weren't truly her friends to begin with.but I did enjoy the mystery. Keli struggles not to let those two separate worlds collide. That all comes to a head when her friend and practicing Wiccan Mila's occult store gets vandalized and a murder takes place that hits close to home. IT was a quick read with a great plot and fascinating characters
This is the first book I have read in this series and I really enjoyed. Even though the main sleuth is Wiccan this is really a traditional cozy mystery. She is also a lawyer who has solved another mystery in the past. The book takes place in small town Southern Illinois. A local business is being targeted with vandalism and there many business are also being robbed. Keli sets out to solve the crimes. There are plenty of suspects to keep the mystery interesting and solution makes sense. I was able to solve the mystery. I look forword to going back and reading book 1 and waiting for book 3. Enjoy this fun small town cozy mystery.
The second book in the Wiccan Wheel series is quite good. Even though I did not read the first one, I had no trouble jumping into this. Keli Milanni is an attorney and keeps her Wiccan side private. A friend is in trouble so Keli must do what she can to help and play sleuth on her own time. A well-written light mystery with characters that readers will love. Ooh, I just noticed the first book is only 99 cents for Amazon Kindle. Looking forward to reading that as well.
This is a great book; this book is part of the Wiccan Wheel Mystery series written by Jennifer David Hesse. The Wiccan holiday of Candlemas is right around the corner, but when vandals target New Age gift shop Moonstone Treasures, the mood is far from festive. Frightening threats and accusations of witchcraft aimed at the owner have some Wiccan patrons calling it a hate crime. And when things escalate to murder, the community turns to Keli to solve the mystery. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
I love the mysteries in this series, but Keli bothers me a bit. Even though she claims to have no issues with Christianity, I keep feeling like she does have issues with it. Plus she keeps saying she wants to be able to talk to her friends about being Wiccan, but is afraid they won't like her once they know. If they don't like her because of it, they weren't truly her friends to begin with. Ok, now that my mini rant is over, I'd like to restate the fact that it is a really good mystery. There is lots going on with a bunch of great suspects, and some funny scenes to balance out the suspense.
