You know you found a great book when the heroine is as sassy as the hero is hot; the action is just as suspenseful as the sexy scenes are panty meltingly hot. Eden’s job is a little different than Kelly’s, were Kelly is a cop and fights the bad guys with a badge, Eden does things a little more in the lets say, revenge way. Eden works at making wrong doers pay for their bad ways any way she can. When detective Kelly Riordan’s case points him in the direction of a business called Dirty Deeds he finds he’s got his hands full. The author does an amazing job with this story my type of book; with character well developed just enough back story constant action and some seriously hot sexy scenes. I look forward to more books in this series. I hope she has a story for both Mocha and Tanner; they are characters worth reading about.

Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Eden's strength to survive her past and still care about others blew me away. Kelly's honest ability to read her despite her games, disguises, and secrets ensnared me. The ups and downs, dangers, and love that happens between these two was worth the read. My emotions followed the two as they traveled to their HEA. I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to the next one.

I received a copy of this story through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

Eden was putting one ounce of laxative into a chocolate covered cherry when Tanner came back in very frustrated and said she couldn’t get past the receptionist Eden’ business was called Dirty deeds and was a business to get revenge. Revenge was a tricky business, Eden and her team would only go so far. Eden felt she should have been there to reconfirm the details before Tanner went out. Tanner was Eden’s newest recruit and the first few trips out were crucial and Tanner’s confidence would play a large part in if she was successful in the future. Grant had been caught in bed with his wife-Paris-best friend’s underage daughter but he had an Ivy League education and a six figure income otherwise with his sociopathic tendencies would Have probably made him an internet troller. Eden thought of Paris Grant’s soon to be ex wife with a black eye and swollen bloody lip. This case may be a little rougher then Eden thought but Paris deserved justice. Especially as Grant is a womanizer who likes to prey on young woman who needed rescuing.Grant was a sick puppy and Paris had the right to come to Eden and those who worked with her. This case needed special attention. Then the phone rang and Mocha answered and asked for the password, the password system was effective and ensured loyal referral based clientele. Those who wanted their dirty little secrets to stay that way. It never cease to amaze Eden how much people will pay to even the score. Also if the client didn’t have the money for their fee a trade could be done. In Eden’s line of business you have to have many friends willing to help at different times. Tanner was a lost soul as had been Mocha and Eden herself until Malcolm found Eden and trained her to take over the business.Malcolm took in youths to teach them skills they could use in life and not always legal. Training another to follow in her footsteps was only the first phase of Eden’s long term goals. Goals that were put on hold until Eden’s financial status made the goals achievable. It should only take another year or two. Kelly was a homicide detective and he just picked up another case. A dead female named ruby who had one of Eden’s business cards in her hand who had been a past customer. Kelly then proceeds to talk to Eden and feels she is hiding something. Kelly is determined to uncover Eden’s past . Kelly and Eden are attracted to each other and it builds to more than lust. People are turning up dead from Eden’s past. Then Keely discovers that Eden is the ultimate target of this sick killer. Eden is not sure what to do with Kelly as he is protective and Eden has always taken care of herself.
I liked this story a lot. Eden didn’t actually kill people for her clients but she did get payback to some degree. I like how independent Eden is yet she lets Tanner into her heart and worries about her safety. I liked the action in this book and liked the plot. I also liked how Kelly became protective of Eden. I thought this had a good pace and my attention never strayed from the story. I was also rooting for Kelly and Eden. I liked the characters and how they interacted with each other and i loved the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

Eden Smith spend her days making things right. Taking the grudges held by those who were wronged and paying it forward. Her business Dirty Deeds hands out a hi-tech version of karma. Say that you stole a vast amount of money, you would mysteriously then lose that exact amount - and it won't be traceable.

Detective Kelly Riordan is on a case. A body has washed up on shore with a Dirty Deeds business card in her hand. Rumours about what Dirty Deeds get up to have been circulating for a while, and Riordan has been trying his hardest to trace the person behind it. Now it look like they're involved in this murder.

During his latest investigation Riordan and Smith's paths cross. She is in more danger that she could ever imagine, and he is determined to get to the bottom of whatever it is Eden is hiding. Will they manage to work through the kinks of their tenuous relationship and work out who it is that is after Eden.

This is the first novel by AJ Nuest that I have had the pleasure to read. The author has created two really strong characters. I took a while to warm to Eden, but as a misunderstood heroine it is nice to meet a character with a bit of an edge. Kelly Riordan was much easier to warm to. Smart and quick-witted he definitely has a handle on things. That is until Eden gets under his skin.

Unfortunately, I am not able to engage with the writing style of this book and have chosen to not finish the title at 38%.

I look forward to the next title I read from you!

Some reviews are super easy to write and others you really have to think about. Dirty Deeds is one of those books that captivated my mind right from the start. The story isn't what I thought it was going to be from the blurb, it was so much better.

Ms Nuest had me wondering where this one was going but I could never have imagined it. Amazing characters and what an imagination, a great weekend read and one I will be recommending to all of my friends.

I loved Eden and Kelly together and at one point wanted to scream (you will totally understand when you get toward the end of the book) but luckily I didn't throw my kindle and break it so I could find out it would be ok and since this is only the first book I'll get to find out in future books about where the other characters will be headed.

First impressions:

Dirty Deeds is unique, original and different to what I usually encounter in romantic suspense.

An absence of sound filled his ears. A vacuum of silence as if the entire city collectively held its breath.

With an unusual start to the book is you don't really know what's going on. Now I like to know what is going on so at the beginning it was tough going for me but the more I read the more the story unfolded and the more you got sucked into Eden and Kelly's story.

Kelly Riordan is a hard ass Chicago homicide detective. He has a soft and gooey centre and a body you want to lick from head to toe. He is the somewhat tarnished knight in shining armour.

His next case is going to give him a rollercoaster of a ride. All romantic suspense books need a dead body to get things going Kelly is called to a Lake Michigan for that exact reason. A white business card is a lead but isn't getting him any closer to solving the case. He tries to put pressure on a witness to finding the body but doesn’t get anywhere with it.

Who is Eden Smith? Eden isn't too sure about who she is. For 11 years she has been running Dirty Deeds with Tanner and Mocha. I would love to see more of Mocha. For Dirty Deeds to get involved to help you with some revenge you need a password INR will get you the help you need.

Eden has been informed that the Detective is looking for her. She decides on a meet and greet. Her past comes back to haunt her. Her mentor dead she has only one person she can turn to Detective Kelly Riordan.

Eden is devious, bloodthirsty and I love her sense of justice and intelligence. She tries to come off as a complete hard asss but it just doesn’t work. She can read people like no other and her disguises? She reminded me a bit of Sydney Bristow from Alias.

At the question of who could be out to get her? Well that gives Kelly 800 suspects to look into.

Eden and Kelly butt heads to begin with but that soon changes. The lines begin to blur for Kelly and for Eden. No one has really ever been there for her until Kelly and that is what gets to her the most. He sees her.

I enjoyed the author's writing style and she delivered a suspenseful read there were times throughout the book where it dragged. But I am a picky lass. You should go into this book blind to enjoy everything that it has to offer.

Dirty Deeds by A.J. Nuest
Likely Story #1

First book read written by this author – it won’t be my last.

That said, when I began reading I kept trying to figure who Nuest writes like and thought, “Evanovich?” then thought, “No, not really.” And the more I read the more I realized that Nuest is a fascinating unique writer with new stories to tell.” The story had a bit of the feel of Oliver Twist at one point in that Malcolm, the man who helped train Eden (and others), was a bit like Fagin. Malcolm took in youth to teach them skills that that they could use in life – although perhaps skills they could not use on the right side of the law. When Ruby is found with a business card in her hand leading to Dirty Deeds, Eden’s revenge for hire business, homicide detective Kelly Riordan picks up the case. From that point on the chase is on, another murder occurs, Eden is at risk, Kelly and Eden become a couple, and wonderful supporting characters are introduced to star in future books of the series. I am looking forward to reading book two of this series when it is ready.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Eden Smith is a tough, feisty female & as the owner of Dirty Deeds, revenge is her game.

Kelly Riordan is a homicide detective with a tough outer shell thanks to being screwed over by the woman he thought he loved.

When their world's collide in horrific circumstances there is some serious hostility between them, but even that can't stop the sizzling chemistry. Can they work together to solve the crime or will their mutual attraction be their downfall?

This book was absolutely amazing & just grabbed me right from the beginning. I loved the chemistry between the characters & found myself needing a cold shower on more than one occasion!! The suspense element was fantastic & kept me gripped. My first book by this author but I'll make damn sure it's not my last
