Taite is one of my favourite authors when it comes to legal drama. Without Justice expands Taite's normal courtroom setting when crafts a strong intrigue story that revolves around Cade a lawyer who has testified against the mob and is now in Witness Protection and Emily, a DA in the small town that Cade has been relocated to.. The attraction and the chemistry is there but Cade has to lie about everything - hardly the foundation for a long relationship. Another great book by Taite that has a really interesting premise and I enjoyed the characters.

This was my 15th book by Taite. She is one of my go-to authors. This one was not a favorite of mine, but it was still a good read. I feel like any book of hers is worth reading, and chances are you are going to be happy with the purchase. Cade is sent to small town, Texas in the witness protection program. There she meets super-hot newly elected DA, Emily. This couple had the making to be a favorite of mine. I didn’t get enough of my fill with them as a couple so the book left me wanting more. I could read another novel about this couple and perhaps be better satisfied. As always the book was well written and flowed easily. Taite is an easy choice for lesbian fiction.

Another pretty awesome lesbian mystery thriller by Carsen Taite.

It's the story of Cade and Emily. We start with Cade. She witnesses something utterly horrible and suddenly her whole life is thrown out of whack.

She has to go into Witness Protection. Going from Chicago to a super small town in Texas.

Emily is the newly elected DA of that same small town/County. She comes from a big time family in the town and has a lot of pressure on her to do well as the DA.

They meet when Emily sits on a panel that happens to be at the college where Cade has her new job as a Librarian. They also run into each other a couple of times in the small town.

They are drawn to each other with a relentless pull, but they both have a lot of issues that they have to get over and past.

It was an interesting thriller with a bit of a mystery. They characters were all very unique and at times I truly wondered if what I thought might happen would actually happen.

I've always liked Taite's thrillers and this one was no different. Pretty cool.

I got this galley via Netgalley on behalf of Bold Strokes Books.

You know what to expect if you are a fan of Carsen Taite. As a defence attorney, she knows of what she writes! This is another winning page turner with credible characters, tight pacing and a well put together story. Cade is in witness protection and the narrative mainly follows her struggle to adopt, and stay faithful to, her new persona as a small town librarian, when she had been a successful lawyer. She meets and makes friends with the DA in her new town and although drawn to Emily, finds it increasingly difficult not to fall into lawyer jargon when talking to her. But if she does, then they would both be in danger as the crime family Cade is to testify against will stop at nothing to find her. But the relationship becomes strained when Cade disagrees with something Emily is doing professionally and Emily lashes out... There is a good thriller in among the romance and if you like Ms Taite's legal stories, you won't be disappointed.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley in return for an honest review.

Carsen Taite is a wonderful author and I can never get enough of her stories. Without Justice is a story I could not put down. The story line between Cade and Emily will keep you on the edge of your seat. There is romance, crime, suspense, and great characters. I would recommend her books to everyone. I can not wait until the next book.

This is another well told legal tale by Carsen Taite. There’s tension because of secrets required by the witness protection program but undeniable chemistry between Cade and Lily. An entertaining read.

Wow! What an enjoyable book! Ms. Taite’s book caught my attention from the very first chapter. This book would fall into the category of suspense and the characters are well developed.

Cade, one of the main characters, is an attorney who witnessed a crime and needs to go into the witness protection program. Not only does she have to leave her home and family, but she goes from a large city to a small one. She needs to make many adjustments to this new area in addition to working in a job that is not related to law. Cade is always worried about being discovered and that leads to a lot of stress. All of this combines to affect her personal life and any relationships she develops while living in a small town.

Emily is the other main character. She is a prosecuting attorney who was recently elected to office. As one can expect, she, too, has problems that come with an elected office.

Cade and Emily are immediately attracted to each other. Ms. Taite does an excellent job of writing the love scenes—just enough, but not too much. I loved the way Ms. Taite builds their relationship. It seems to parallel the rapid suspense of Cade being hunted by a killer.

I have read all of Ms. Taite’s books and have enjoyed them all. This book is certainly one that I would recommend and I gave it a 5-star rating.

I was given this ARC by Netgalley and Bold Strokes Books in return for an honest review.

When prosecuting attorney Cade Kelly becomes the target of a hit man her old life is ripped away by the need for witness protection and severing all ties with the past. Slowly daring to open up the possibility of starting again she meets Emily Sinclair, newly elected DA in the small town Cade now calls home.

While their attraction is instant Cade knows it is all built on a lie and tries to keep her distance. But when the past intrudes her fierce belief in justice overcomes her fear of being found and drags Emily into the battle for survival.

This is a great read, fast passed, interesting and takes a slightly different tack from the normal crime/courtroom drama having a lawyer in the witness protection system whose case becomes the hidden centre of another crime.

Cade and Emily are likable and you want them to succeed, despite wanting to shake them sometimes to get the truth out. The attraction is instant, the sex is hot and the ‘falling’ rapid, but it exactly suits the fast paced drama. The background characters are somewhat fleeting, and there is definitely room for a sequel fleshing out family and friends as well as pitting the lawyers against each other.

As always you can wish for more, more time to get to know the characters, more time for them to develop, but that is not the nature of the beast and I really enjoyed immersing myself in this rapid fire adventure. Suspend your disbelief, take the plunge, it’s definitely worth the effort
