The sexually charged and liberated Birmingham Rebels are back! Trust me, this football team is no ordinary team. They are the cast offs and bad boys of the NFL and with a couple of sex scandals under their belt, they are known for more than just the football they play. "Jacked Up" brings us two more hot football players and a woman who has always been the good girl, but discovers her bad side ;)

Sam Taylor has recently returned home from the army after two tour in Afghanistan. He was gravely injured in the line of duty and lost a team mate in an attack. He suffers from PTSD and has recurring nightmares about the incident. He hasn't been with a woman since his return and his best friend and Rebels team mate King Ulupoka is determined to put an end to his sexual draught.

King Ulupoka, the huge Samoan defensive linemam of the Birmingham Rebels has a heart as big as his body. He likes taking care of people and it devastates him to see his best friend traumatized like this. So he decides to take him out of town and end his draught. Sam is terrified to be alone with a woman, thinking that his PTSD might be triggered and be may hurt her. So when King suggests that he will stay with him to make sure that nothing happens, Sam agrees. Now all they have to do is find a woman who will be willing to play along with this plan.

Jane Foster is an ER nurse who has always played by the book. A good girl who has never strayed from the straight and narrow. She has decided to take the weekend off and have some fun. Maybe do something a little wild for a change. Yet, she never expected to be the object of lust to two hot football players. Jane soon discovers that there is a whole other Jane who has been anxiously waiting to come out and play.

Another hot and wild romance by Samantha Kane. Beware, this series is not for the shy and faint hearted!

This book was interesting in that it had a lot more emotion and thought provoking depth than you would expect from a book about a three-way/polyamorous relationship involving football players. I also liked that the relationship didn't happen by accident and that each of the characters made the choice at each step of the relationship to commit to it and proceed. Each of the characters was well developed and complemented the other partners in the relationship. Also, the sexual component was very steamy! The only thing that was odd was how many polyamorous relationships were out in the open on this football team, but I guess it is a fantasy world after all...

I received this book from NetGalley as an ARC for a freely given honest review.

I never came across the term "Jacked Up" before...um...this book is SO WELL NAMED. These people can't keep their hands off each other and do get carried away when they do. I loved King Ulupoka sooooooo much. He's the level headed one who knows what he wants but is so patient and has a loving and sacrificial heart. Poor Sam is so messed up with PTSD and survivor's guilt but wants to find himself and do what's right with his life. Jane is a good girl with a dirty girl's fantasies. Can she really give in and grasp her heart's desire? You bet she does and we benefit from reading the story. I was delighted when I was given an opportunity to read this through NetGalley. I am a huge fan of Samantha and her menage stories. The journey to love and the healing it grants was awesome.

I sure do love me some Birmingham Rebels! The team was a hodgepodge of men but they seemed to work well together and become friends. They also had each other's backs. They may not be conventional, but they learned to work with each other and grow as a team. What started out as two buddies taking a trip to the beach and finding someone for Sam, turned into so much more. Sam was returning to civilian life from serving in Afghanistan. He was following his dream to be in the NFL but his dream team had traded him for the Rebels. However, that's exactly where he needed to be. His buddy, King, had his back 110 percent. So, King talked Sam into finding someone for the night and he would stay in the room with them in case his PTSD brought trouble. However, in the great way that Samantha Kane can write, Jane lightened up the mood and made it H-O-T-T having King and Sam there with her. King and Sam started tiptoeing around, thinking about the other in ways they hadn't before. But at the same time, neither man could stop thinking about Jane. When suddenly an incident brings them face to face again, fantasy started becoming a reality. Now, I'm not usually one to gravitate toward M/M books, but I love how Samantha gets her reader good and submersed into the story and the characters' lives that when it happen, it feels right. It was new, tentative, sweet, sexy and real. Their entire relationship was something they had to figure out and learn how to maneuver in a way that worked for them. I highly enjoyed this book.

Sam and King are linemen for the Birmingham Rebels and are best buddies. Sam, a vet with PTSD, is shy and hasn't had sex since he got back from Afghanistan. King, a Samoan who is larger than life, is not shy in the least. King wants to help Sam get laid, so he agrees to be in the room in case Sam freaks out ... but they just have to find a woman who will agree to this. Jane is a nurse who by her own definition is a "good girl", but when she meets Sam she feels things she has never felt before and agrees to the situation ... and gets a lot more than she bargained for. The 3 of them are so different, but you feel the love between them! If you are looking for a HOT 3 way ... than this is the book for you.

I received an ARC copy of this book from Random House-Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

4 1/2 STARS!

A steamy-hot continuation of Samantha Kane’s Birmingham Rebels series is once again burning up the sheets! You MUST be okay with menage and M/M to enjoy this book … and if you are, you’re in for a treat! These two guys are the best of friends and then meeting that one certain lady, takes it to a whole new level! The characters are sweet and kind, they have issues just like us, and I think you’ll find yourself rooting for a happy ending for them just like I was.

The PTSD that Linebacker Sam Taylor suffers from after returning from Afghanistan has him living his life in a really stunted way. He overthinks things and worries constantly about what might set him off, and it’s driving his best friend crazy! Defensive lineman King Ulupoka just wants to see Sam be able to relax and enjoy life a little bit. He’s been living life like a monk ever since he came home, and King has decided it’s time he helps him change that!

ER nurse Jane Foster has always been the good girl, and so when she meets these two hunks and gets the opportunity to live life on the bad side for one night, she’s super tempted! Steamy sex with a gorgeous football player? YES PLEASE! So what if his friend is going to stay and watch … she’s still game!

When a chance encounter has her crossing their path again a few months later, they decide they can’t let a gift like that slide by without jumping on it. Neither of them have been able to get her or that night out of their mind … and neither has she! When they all decide to try at a relationship … together … will they be able to live with the consequences when it goes public?

Sam Taylor and King Ulupoka play football for the Birmingham Rebels. Prior to joining the team Sam served served in the military in Afghanistan where he was injured and several of his group were killed. Sam and King are best friends and one night King decides Sam needs to get laid. They go out and meet Jane Foster, a nurse. The three hit it off and go back to her hotel room. Sam is nervous about having sex since he suffers from PTSD and King stays in the room while he has sex with Jane. The first time King just watches until the end when he comes over and starts participating. All of them are turned on by the threesome, but Jane freaks out and feels like she is a bad girl for doing it. For the remainder of the book the three explore their attraction and Jane goes back and forth between enjoying herself and feeling guilty. Sam and King also deal with their attraction to each other. At a team party the three of them get physical on the dance floor and a video of it is posted to the web. Jane is branded a slut and she refuses to talk to King and Sam. All of them miss each other. Finally Jane is convinced to give them another chance. I enjoyed the sex scenes more than I thought I would, (they were hot!) but I felt the rest of the book wasn't as well formed. The dialogue is a bit stilted and I never really felt the connection besides lust. I also felt that being in Alabama, people really wouldn't be this accepting.

This is the same story over and over. I won't be reading anything else by this author. The sex scenes are hot, but the plot stinks. I like more story with my porn.

Jacked up is a fabulous story of friendship, loyalty and passion filled nights. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the relationship between Sam and King.

Another gripping tale of the hard-bodied men of the Birmingham Rebels and the complex women, who ultimately bring them to their knees!

Jacked up was my third book from author Samantha Kane, let me reassure anyone looking for a sexually charged book you found it.

This book revolves around a good girl ER nurse Jane and Two NFL football players Sam and King. They meet when they are on similar vacations and they have one of the most sex charged nights I've read about. Thinking this to be a one night stand Sam and Jane set aside fear and inhibitions and let go. King who starts the night as a spectator giving his best friend support since he hasn't been with a woman in more than two years due to traumatic events. Leaving at the end of their night together with the understanding it was one night only.

All three have spent months wishing for more because a connection like theirs felt right and so very wrong. Not knowing they are all from the same town a visit to the ER reunites the three of them and this is where I stop telling what comes next. This was easily one of the most sex charged books I've read in addition to the authors previously written books in the series. Good character development and even if the thought of a three person relationship isn't your thing omg you'll still be able to feel the chemistry page after page.

Thank you Netgally for the opportunity to review this well written book. Congrats Samantha Kane another hot read!!!

so hot!!
~~~~~~~~~~~
My brain still burns whenever I think about this sizzling hot story. Samantha Kane knows how to steam up those pages and this book is a spicy addition to the menage and m/m stories dreams are made of.
Following on the heels of her last book in the Birmingham Rebels series, Calling the Play, which was super hot too, this is one sports team you wish you could be in the locker room with every day! Sweaty hot muscular men matched with the perfect balance of a gal that can take them on. Who wouldn't dream about that? Well, in this book, (and the series) you can read about it!
Each book is a stand alone, so have no fears about locking yourself away from everyone for a few hours and delve into the fantasy world created by Samantha Kane. Make sure you have the fans running, coz you are going to need it!
I was immediately drawn to Sam in this story. Sam is a war vet with PTSD. He came back to the States with a purple heart and fulfilled his dream of playing NFL football. He was always kind of lost and King took him under his wing. King and Sam had a unique friendship and were the best of friends. When King tries to find Sam a one night stand that will allow him to watch in case Sam has any PTSD issues during intimacy, they never imagine where this path could lead. Jane meets the boys on a vacation and is set to try things for one night, but the three of them understand each other like no one else ever would.
This was a story about three people breaking down the barriers of society and accepting what will make them happy and if the world doesn't accept it, that's OK. Sam got under my skin. I loved how broken he was, but yet such a dominant person in the bedroom. King was the laid back guy who took care of everyone. And Jane was the person who brought them all together. She completed them. I loved getting to know these characters and watching them explore their relationship. It was a well done story with very hot scenes!
Even though this is the third book in this series I have to admit this was my first book by this author. You get just as the blurb says…two football players and one ordinary nurse and a lot of sex. Oh, no not just any sex but extremely tantalizing sex. Sam is a war veteran who came back to the states with many scars both physically and emotionally and is determined to live out his dream of playing professional football not just for himself but for the men that didn’t make it home to fulfil their dreams. King was Sam’s teammate and best friend and the only one who knew the background of Sam and problems since returning stateside including his severe fight with PTSD. Jane was an ER nurse who had labeled herself a “good girl” especially after her brother died on a tour overseas. Their paths crossed in a bar when an overly handsy guy was trying to hit on Jane and she was in the process of taking care of that. That’s when King and Sam saw she was having problems with this guy and they came to her rescue.
So just how does a military veteran with issues, a big Samoan star football player and a “good girl” become involved? During this coming together all three of them had a lot to learn and they learned because it was important to the other two. Be ready for a journey with Sam, King and Jane as they all learn what “normal” is and how a good girl becomes a very good bad girl.
I have been really enjoying this series so you can imagine how excited I was to get an ARC for this one. Some dancing around my home did take place. Unfortunately, this ended up falling a bit short of my expectations.
Let us start with what I did like. I love this author's writing style. It's light and flows really well. Her books are very readable and the plots easy to get sucked into. I love the secondary characters and their team interactions and look forward to more books featuring them. I enjoyed the sex scenes as well. And both King and Sam were very likable and great heroes.
So why 3 Stars? The heroine was beyond annoying. I wanted to throat punch her pretty much through the whole damn book. Her back and forth freakouts and her personal slut shaming were way overdone. The word SLUT (or a derivative thereof) was used 26 times in this book. Most of them coming from the heroine about herself after King, Sam and she had literally JUST finished having sex. If I had to hear one more time how she was a "good girl" but OMG she acted like a "slut", well let us just say my tablet was in danger of flying against the wall.
Ultimately for me, it was the heroine that let this book down and because of that, I can only give this one 3 Stars. That said I will continue reading this series and keep my fingers crossed that the next book works better for me.
I liked the book, but didn't love it, although I really wanted to. The sex was incredibly hot, I'll give it 5 stars for that. But I didn't really connect with the characters and felt as though the book lacked any real substance unfortunately. I had no issues with the premise of the book, but wished there was more relationship building throughout the book instead of just sex. They went on one or two dates, fell in love, broke up (kind of) and then eventually got their HEA. It just wasn't very believable at all since they didn't really get the chance to know one another that well.
Jane is an ER nurse and runs into Sam and King, NFL players, in an Orange Beach bar. King is on a mission to get Sam laid and Jane is their target. They hit if off and decide to spend the night together. The night turns into a really hot porn-worthy sexcapade, but the next day, they leave each other and think they'll never see one another again. Sam suffers from PTSD after serving in the military and hadn't been intimate with anyone for years, until Jane. He only felt comfortable if King was in the room with him though since he was afraid he'd have a nightmare or lose control. Jane seemed to calm him and he can't stop thinking about her after they depart ways. Apparently King, the super sexy Samoan, also can't forget about the lovely Jane, but they have no idea where she is now. They have a chance meeting several months later when King's nephew ends up in the ER and Jane is the attending nurse. They eventually all get together again and decide to give a relationship a try.
My biggest problem with the book was Jane. She really annoyed me with her hot/cold attitude towards Sam & King. She liked them, but didn't want to share the spotlight with them. She kept slut-shaming and thinking bad of herself for a majority of the book. She lacked self-esteem in public but had tons of it in the bedroom. I just didn't get it. Either own up to it and be yourself or cut ties with the guys, don't drag them into your own personal misery. And the talking during sex, it was laughable most of the time and seemed totally fake. I did however enjoy King & Sam's banter in the bedroom.
I absolutely loved King! He was swoon-worthy and just a big teddy bear. Sam was a great guy who just struggled to overcome his PTSD after his vehicle was hit by an IED. I just wanted to give him a hug. I loved that the author shined light on PTSD and the support that veterans need once they return home from war. I really hope Carmina, Sam's friend and a member of his unit, gets a HEA as well, as she seemed like a really sweet lady who needs to find her happy ending.
I LOVE this author! Her “Brothers in Arms” series is one of my very favorite! This book was the first one I read of this series, and I really liked it. King is an amazing character! His optimism was so fun to read, and the way he loves Sam and Jane is so passionate and sweet. Most times, in an MMF romance, I have a special place in my heart for the male/male romance in Samantha’s books. This book was no exception. The threesome is cute together, but Sam and King... I mean, come on! They’re so…delicious! I also like the more emotional aspects of the story, even though it doesn’t seem very realistic to me that Sam would want to have sex with Jane while King was there.
There were a couple of small things about the writing itself, but they weren’t that big. The author uses some street-talk, but writes it the way it’s spoken. “Bro” would become “brah”, and I don’t really like that. Sometimes she also uses some descriptive words a little repetitively. But I really love this book anyway!
