There were some interesting recipes that I would be interested in trying. Not sure if this cookbook is for me though but I did enjoy it none the less.
I requested this book because a fellow colleague talked about what a great section it had on smoothies. She was right, it had some very good information about smoothies, what to put in them and how to make them healthier.
Good Veg is beautifully photographed and filled with unique, aspirational yet approachable vegetarian and vegan fare. This cookbook felt very different from many I read in that Alice Hart was not trying to dumb down or oversimplify her recipes in any way, nor were they excessively complex - they were absolutely the sort of food I would see on the menu at a nice restaurant and wish I could find in a cookbook somewhere - in other words, this is a cookbook unapologetically written by a chef, and so much the better for that. Having said that, the chapters about cooking on a budget were a nice touch, and being able to make delicious and beautiful food need not cost much. Most enjoyable, however, were the chapter and recipe introductions. Hart's explanations of her foods, and the care with which these recipes was written, were a joy to read and elevated this cookbook above the fray.

I LOVE the photographs in this cookbook! I received an eBook so I am not sure how it looks in print, so I also could not provide any images as well. I have not yet tried the recipes but there are several I want to try. I am looking into a more clean living style, which includes food so I am trying to research what I need to be doing. The recipes in this collection are meals that most people can make and I want to try them all! The presentation in this book is gorgeous. If I try any of the recipes I will make sure I post it on my blog My Novelesque Life
TITLE: This cookbook will get your creative juices flowing
Lots and lots of great inspiration here! If you like reading cookbooks to glean new ideas for refreshing your own tried and true recipes, this book is for you. Turning page after page, the creativity sparked my imagination and got my mind racing.
It’s one of those cookbooks where I found it necessary to keep a notepad and my grocery list near at hand. And marking pages became useless because I was marking so many of them.
This cookbook can rekindle a taste for ingredients you have put aside distanced yourself from. It will also introduce you to new flavors and ingredient combinations.
Some of the recipes are a bit too overdone for me—especially in the first chapter “Mornings”. But they provided impetus for some more streamlined dishes. If you expend a lot of time on your breakfast meals, you will like this chapter as is.
Check out the “Look Inside” feature that the publishers have provided on this product page. You will see: Both page layout and type style are easy on the eyes. Directions/instructions are thorough and easy to understand. There is not a picture for each dish, but the pictures there are helpful and pleasant to look at.
I like the way the book is divided, finding the “Quick”, “Thrifty”, “Gatherings”, “Rawish” chapters to be great topics. I especially liked the Stalk Soup in the Quick Chapter, and the Grated Brassica and Date Salad in the Rawish Chapter.
*I received a temporary download of this book from the publisher and have worked with it for several months prior to its release in mid-April 2017.

Good Veg by Alice Hart is one of the best vegetarian cookbooks I've come across in a long while! The recipes are creative, tasty and the photography in this book is out of this world. I really liked the way Ms. Hart organized her cookbook. The recipes flow well and the categories she highlights make it easy to find the right recipe for the right occasion.
To highlight some of the recipes that drew my interest ~
Squash and Sesame Fritters
Eggplant and Sweet Potato Lasagna with Walnuts (YUM!)
Greek Coddled Eggs
A Summer Salad (can't wait to try this one!)
Cashew and Coconut Bites
Please don't even get me started on the sumptuous and heavenly desserts! 😍
I started out being a bit intimidated by this cookbook but after reading Good Veg there are plenty of recipes for the novice and the master cook. The recipes are a celebration of flavors and textures that are as pleasing to the eye as well as the taste buds. Try them out and enjoy!

I received this book for free. A favorable review was not required and all views expressed are my own. Thank you to The Experiment Publishing, Ms. Hart and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I have lived a vegan, or plant based life for over 44 years and when I began my journey there were very few resources. I am a seasoned vegan cook and have had years to develop my own recipes out of necessity. Times have changed with more information like cookbooks to educate those who want to make the change to a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle. I have few cookbooks that I cherish and have held onto. I am always interested in any plant based cookbook that comes out, but will not necessarily add it to my small collection.
I was given the opportunity to preview Good Veg and I was impressed. The recipes are innovative, and easy for times that count, or elaborate for special occasions. The book is extensive, the recipes unique. Good Veg covers so many areas and could be the one cookbook you would use on a daily basis. I am definitely adding it to my small collection of cookbooks. It will be a book well worn in my kitchen.
Healthy eating is obviously important to Ms. Hart, and she writes this, her second book about vegetarian eating, with vigorous and joyful descriptions of delicious tasting food. Fresh vegetables, grains, herbs, presenting many recipes from easy to quick to grazing to desserts. Recommended.
Fantastic vegetarian cookbook with lots of very unique and super fancy-sounding recipes. I may have to go on an ingredient-gathering scavenger hunt to make some of the more complex recipes in this book, but they all sound amazing. Now I'm hungry.
This book is very informative for people wanting to eat healthier!
This is such a beautiful cookbook - seriously the pictures are so absolutely wonderful and look at that cover! So, I will definitely have to buy this book for myself because I can just imagine that the pictures look even better in hardcover.
I loved this, there were a lot of recipes that looked brilliant and tasted great and I adore how easy to find most of the ingredients are while the recipes are still something great. After a few lackluster cookbook this really won me over.
The best part of the book for me was the section on breakfast. Recently I started to enjoy breakfast a lot more and I am eager to try new recipes for this meal that I have been ignoring most of my life (I really like to sleep). And this book definitely delivered on that front - the recipes are just the right amount of work for me to be able to do this first thing in the morning. Also, the guide to creating the best smoothies pleases the hipster in me immensely and I cannot wait to try even more of my own creations.

I received this arc curtesy of NetGalley and The Experiment in exchange for an honest review. Thanks for that!
Delectable recipes and images that made my mouth water at every page turn!
Lovely pictures that make turning each page a pleasure. I'd say you would need some knowledge of cooking to follow the recipes with ease. Although there are several very easy recipes to follow. Like the way, it's easy to substitute ingredients if you don't have the ones stated. Hope someone buys me a hard copy!
The recipes in this book call for recipes that are not easily available to the average person. Making it useless for most collectors of cook books. The photography is amazing though.
Things like samphire, Shaoxing rice, and many other things I can't pronounce can not be procured at the local grocery store. You may be able to find things online or at a coastal market or a large city. Every recipe calls for things the average person will have a hard time finding. While this may be an excellent cookbook I have no idea because I could not make a single recipe myself. :-(
I've never enjoyed vegetables. This book makes me want to eat EVERYTHING! I could cook out of this forever, and never get bored! Thank you!
Wonderful book and not just for vegetarians. It encouraged me to look at the less familiar vegetables in the supermarket. Very well laid out with plenty of pictures to wet our appetites.
Netgalley does not provide a document file type that I can actually read, so I have no clue how this book is. Either provide the information about required format readers prior to requesting, or don't make it available at all.
What a beautiful collection of vegetarian recipes! So delicious and gorgeous photographs.
Great receipes here for all vegetarian kitchens . Enjoyable format and a great variety to choose from.
