I’m going to be really honest with you, I requested Up the Seine Without a Paddle from NetGalley based entirely on the book’s cover. I’d never read anything by Eliza Watson before and on the cover was a picture of the Eiffel Tower and since I am a bit of a Francophile I decided that I wanted to read it. This is one of those serendipitous moments in the life of a book lover because this book was really good.
Up The Seine Without A Paddle follows the adventures of Caity Shaw who travels to Paris to take on her event planner job to a new level. Declan, Caity's hot Irish coworker, helps her maintain her sanity and sense of humor when she is repeatedly thrown out of places in Paris. Caity and Declan spend evenings exploring Paris and researching her Irish grandmother's mysterious past, uncovering secrets that could tear Caity's family apart.
Up The Seine Without A Paddle was a quick light-hearted read that constantly left me with that feel good feeling. If you love a good series with great characters who you feel part of, and uplifting tales, this is perfect. I would really recommend reading The Travel Mishaps of Caity Shaw books in order.
A wonderful story filled with funny, engaging moments. Loved the characters and the writing so much!
