I really enjoyed Grace and Sin's story!

Grace's father is determined that she will wed again, but she is equally determined that she won't. She decides that if she can ruin her reputation, then the man her father has picked out for her will not want her. She goes to the one man that she knows can get the job done, Sebastian (Sin), the co-owner of a scandalous club.

This was a wonderful quick read, full of passionate encounters!! Definitely one to pick up, read and put on your shelf (or digital device) to read again later!

This book didn't really connect with me. I did not warm up to the heroine and I also didn't like the romance.

I decided to take a trip to my romance reading roots and read an historical romance. I haven’t read one in a long while. I have to say other than the arranged marriage and the clothing, this didn’t really “feel” like an historical novel. That being said, it was incredibly steamy, fast paced and entertaining. The chemistry between Sin and Grace was combustible.

Sin is a dirty talking alpha male with a heart of gold that he keeps hidden from the ton. This man literally drips sex from his pores. He’s what makes the book. Grace is a conundrum. She’s been raised uber-sheltered, has limited sexual experience but has all these dirty fantasies. It made me wonder where she got those fantasies. It’s not like nowadays where we have naughty books that tell us how pleasurable sex can be. Back then, women weren’t told that crap. This contributed to the lack of a historical feel.

I loved that even though it was a novella, I didn’t feel cheated out of a full story. There’s definitely a plot mixed in with all the sex that abounds. And there is a lot of sex, very well written, very hot sex. This is where it differs from traditional historical romance and goes a whole lot more spicy—there was threesomes, girl on girl action, toys, a pleasure club, etc. I don’t want to give too away.

If you like spicy, dirty reads with a historical bent then this is definitely worth a read. I’d highly recommend it. Just don’t expect historical accuracy. I can’t wait to see if the rest of the Fallen men get their own books.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Surrender to Sin is the first book in the Fallen series by Nicola Davidson. Wow! That was a fast read in every way. EVERY way. I know it's a short story, so things have to happen fast, but there was so much that happens, and you can take fast to mean any number of things in this case, both salacious and not. In reality, I'm not sure things would have happened quite as quick as they did, because that just didn't seem to match Grace's personality, but hey.. sometimes girls go wild. She certainly did. She did contradict herself at times about her past "experience" too though. So, what's really her history? Hmm.

Some of the slang and terminology didn't match this time period, and call me weird, but that distracts me sometimes, especially when used repetitiously. The story itself was entertaining. I can't think of a better way to try to force a man to end a betrothal in this time period than to thoroughly ruin yourself. It made for a fun and humorous story, with a little suspense thrown in to keep things a more interesting. I'd be curious to read the next book.
