This book is a very interesting contribution to the history of the Cold War, particularly the US operations in Europe based in Germany and Berlin. Based on document and interviews with people that served in the special forces for over 30 years, it fills an informational void about episodes very much kept away from the public eye and for a good, security reason. It also brings light onto the US foreign and intervention policy at the time, not strong enough to defend directly a revolt in the communist block, but ready to overcome the intelligence gap through well targeted operations. The writing may sound a bit technical and specialized sometimes, but given the sensitivity of the topic, it is the best 'literary' choice for keeping a higher level of accuracy. A book recommended to historian and political scientists interested in this period of time, as well as journalists.
