I love all kinds of shifter romances, but wolves have and always will be one of my favorites, so when I saw the title and then read the synopsis, I couldn't wait to read Between a Wolf and a Hard Place! It's the first Terry Spear book I've read and it will definitely not be the last. It was excellent and I really enjoyed reading it!
I liked Ellie - she's sweet, kind, and compassionate, but she has a fiery, wicked side to her as well. She's warm and giving, but she's certainly no pushover. Ellie does things her own way and I loved that about her. She's a great heroine and I loved getting to meet her!
Brett is just as wonderful as Ellie! He's kind, patient, understanding, and he keeps an open mind. He accepts Ellie for who she is and he goes out of his way to assure her that he wants her, supports her, and will do anything he can to help her however she needs. Brett is so sweet and thoughtful - he's totally heart-melting worthy and I completely loved him!
I don't know why it happened, but there was something that kept me from connecting with Ellie and Brett one hundred percent. I didn't have any problems with the storyline and even though I loved them both, there was just a part of me that was a little detached from them and their relationship. That didn't stop me from loving the book though and in fact, before I started Between a Wolf and a Hard Place, I was somewhat in my own "between a rock and a hard place" because I couldn't decide on a book until this one. It sucked me in and was a tale full of mystery, humor, sweet sexy times, and some heart pounding, heartwarming moments. It was fantastic and I can't wait to read the next book!
Between a Wolf and a Hard Place can be read as a standalone, it's told mainly from Brett and Ellie's POV, and they do get their HEA.
~ A Hopeless Romantic's Booklandia, 4 Stars

"Between a Wolf and a Hard Place" by Terry Spear. This is a sweet and endearing story - I truly enjoyed it. It's an easy read that is filled with friendship and family, a bit of suspense and even a touch of angst. Everything that is needed to make a story flow and keep the mind and heart of the reader engaged. The characters were real (well, as real as a shifter can be) and likable. Both our Hero and heroine warmed my heart - they were true to each other, even when obstacles appeared in their way. The romance blossoms and blooms and was simply lovely to read. The secondary characters, including Brett's aunt, were fun and added so much to the story. This one certainly falls into the paranormal world, with shifters and ghosts and supernatural stuff but, even with all of that, it is simply a love story. And Ms. Spear did a wonderful job. It's not filled with sex scenes or lusting after the other, but with heartfelt feelings and actions. I say thumbs up for this one! (received ARC for honest review)

Ellie and her werewolf sisters own a shifter hotel. Brett Silver, an alpha werewolf, has been dating Ellie for a while. They even started having the shared dreams that show you your true mate…But Ellie is afraid to tell Brett about her special ability to see ghost. When Brett brings over his great aunt’s piano, Ellie can’t hide the fact that his great aunt’s ghost came with the piano. Especially when those ghosts hold secrets that uncover the strange happenings in Silver Town.
This is not your typical shifter read, Spear writes sweet and building romances that have characters that happen to be shifters. Of course, changing into a werewolf doesn’t happen in your typical contemporary romance and neither do the story’s characters normally have extraordinary abilities as seeing ghosts...but you get my drift.
Enjoyable, Entertaining and Easy, Between a Wolf and a Hard Place just hits the spot. There is some action, some suspense, a group of great characters and a cute and endearing romance.

A MacTire/Silver romance. Ellie MacTire and her sister have had their Inn in Silver Town open for a while now. They have lived with one ghost that so far hasn’t bothered their guests. Until a piano is delivered to the Inn from the Silver brothers.
Their GreatAunt Matilda always loved the piano, but it isn’t until they get the piano to the Inn that the GreatAunt makes her first appearance. Now Ellie and her sister, which help of the Silver brother, Brett, have to work quickly to see if they can get GreatAunt Matilda on her way.
The only question is, why after so many years has Matilda decided to make herself know. Is there a mystery to her death or does she just really love her piano and wants to stay with it until eternity.
In the meanwhile, Brett Silver knows that Ellie is her mate, but he realizes right away that Ellie is going to take a little time to convince. Are they dream mating, or is Ellie just really attracted to Brett. Once a wolf mates, it is for life, so Ellie really wants to be sure.
Solid story that can be read alone or with other parts of the series, especially A Silver Wolf Christmas (Silver Town Wolf Book 5). I like the ghost story and the briefly added comic relief with the sister’s cousins, who have their own ghost hunting television show.

A great read. Definitely captivating and full of excitement for the reader.

Okay...so i was kinda lost on this one.
I really liked this series. So are the Silver Wolf Pack. However, I am not really sure how to truly feel with this one. The main theme is the same with CJ's mate. There is still the inn. Then Brett, gave a piano... not not just that. From there, all sort of things started to happen. Some were nice, some were not. But the way the story was written was an okay one for me.
There is not much, other than you can really feel how the pack works in this book. Especially the quad. Since, Eric, CJ, and now Brett is mated, all that is left is Sarando? Not sure of the spelling. Looking forward to read his book!

I believed this is the 2nd novel that I read from the Heart of the Wolf series.
I love how headstrong Ellie is and how her ability makes her perfect for Brett. I'm so envious of her for having Brett, who is very romantic, caring and nice.
I enjoy the 'ghost' story that Terry Spear incorporates about Aunt Matilda, it is cool!

Anyone for a ghostly chaperone?
When Brett decided to donate his aunt’s piano to the Silver Town Hotel he didn’t expect his dead aunt to move in with it. Of course, Brett wouldn’t have a clue because he’s never seen the ghost of his aunt but his potential mate, Ellie certainly has. Having a Victorian era ghost frown upon your first kiss isn’t very conducive to romance. Lord knows what might happen as the hotel fills if this ghost decides to do a little haunting. Now Ellie and her sisters have their hands full trying to figure out how to get their newest ghost to move on. At the same time, Ellie has to decide how to break the news to Brett because if Brett can’t accept her ghostly talents then there really is no future for them.
Prepare for a ghostly good time as sensuous dreams lead our hero and heroine further down the road to matehood. Ms. Spears has produced another delightful shifter tale in the Silver Town Wolf series.

Between a Wolf and a Hard Place (Heart of the Wolf #21)

Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ❣
Between a Wolf and a hard place is part of a bigger series of books, however, can be read as a standalone. It just means you have more to digest at the beginning, but I managed just fine. This is the first book I have read by Terry Spear, and it was an interesting read. Paranormal fantasy romance which is so much more than just a shapeshifter mating story.
Ellie is a beautiful wolf with a special gift. She will only date guys who accept her talent. She's had problems in the past and doesn't want to make the same mistake again. Brett is her potential mate, and Ellie needs to tell him about her ghost whispering before things become too heated.
Brett wants Ellie more than anything. He knows she's special but hasn't yet found out just how talented she is.
A ghost wants Ellie's help, and Brett is a relative. It's linked to an old piano delivered to the inn Ellie owns with her sisters. The family heirloom belongs to Brett's great aunt, and she wants them to solve a mystery.
4.5 stars out of 5.
I was gifted this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

Since the A Very Jaguar Christmas, I hadn't read anything from Terry Spear. So when I saw Between a Wolf and a Hard Place on Netgalley, I had to request it. I was curious if this book was going to give you the same cozy feeling of the jaguar christmas or not.
And indeed, Terry just writes in a very relaxing and enchanting way. You meet Ellie and her two sisters, who are running the Silver Town hotel. In this town, there are a lot of wolf-shifters living, so alpha guys defending their territory (read: there girls) is quit normal. And since they are good looking, like Brett, I certainly have no problems with that. Ellie, however, is more hesitant to engage with the romantic guy. Because she has a little secret: she can see and communicate with the dead. And since the last guy she told her secret has been treating her horribly, she is not very open to a new relationship.
But clumsy Brett is trying really hard and being very sweet. Makes me want to remind my husband about bringing flowers, LOL.
So in all, a very pleasant read, with some excitement here and there. You gotta love Brett's (already deceased) great aunt, because she is hilarious. If you want to have a nice and feelgood read, sit back and relax with Between a Wolf and a Hard Place. Four out of five stars from me.

Terry Spears new book is loaded with a ghost or three that change the lives of our heroine Ellie and hero Brett. We meet these two in the previous Silver Town Wolf series and the next MacTire sister gets her own story. Ellie's special gift is that she can communicate with ghosts and as Brett has moved his Aunt Matilda's piano into the inn the girls are renovating his aunt has come along. Brett and Ellie are sharing their first kiss when Aunt Matilda makes her appearance. From there, the story of Matilda, Sam and Chrissy the town ghosts set the stage for a mystery among the romance of Brett and Ellie. Keep reading to solve the link between these three lost souls and enjoy "Between a Wolf and a Hard Place".

Love this story as I have many others by this author, no spoilers but I absolutely recommend you read it asap!

another awesome story by Ms. Spear. Enjoyed the story. Romance was good

I couldn't seem to get into this book, unfortunately. I haven't read the others in the series, but I can usually jump into a story without any backstory and just appreciate the book for what it is. I couldn't with this one. Perhaps fans of the series will appreciate it more than I did.
