Two years ago Jon writhed fought although he didn’t know what he was fighting. Jon had rushed into Kasen and pushed the hybrid out of the rifle's sight. Then the shot tearing into his back and blowing a hole out the front of him. Kasen would take better care of Veronica then he ever could. She needed the hybrid more than she needed Jon. This was goodbye to the vampire world. Jon had died in Kasen's arms. Jon couldn’t remember how to move , as if this body no longer belonged to him. There were two strong males with him who weren’t fully human- Roand and Shaul. Then Jon ran his tongue over his teeth and found he had fangs. Lawan ended up in the E R she had been left on the ground outside the ambulance entrance. Lawan said her name was Jane and told everyone not to touch her. But then Amy said she would examine Jane just her and Jane. Then Amy asked Jane what they had did to her. Lawan felt a piece of her soul break off and die. Present Day - Jon went to the cemetery , he had been visiting once every week for two years. This was a place he could come and collect his thoughts and remind himself of who he had been. This was his only real home. There was a plot with his name on it but buried with an empty coffin. Then Roan showed up but Jon hadn’t sensed him since the hybrid was the psychic equivalent of Fort Knox, solid and impenetrable. Roan was why Jon was undead. Roan wanted Jon to take out some leeches. Worse was that they’re some of Ramden's old cronies. Roan was right about one thing Jon had plenty of rage to unleash. Jon wore his full uniform- black battle uniform, two - nine millimeters. Two forty fives, and four blades hidden on his person. In the Big Apple leeches ruled with an iron fist and humans were an endangered species. Now the goal was to keep the parasites from spreading any further. Then someone else was also shooting the leeches Jon had been trying to kill and now that person was trying to kill him. Then Jon realized it was a female hybrid. Jon tries to let her know they are on the same side. Jon told her he worked with Senary. Lewan was a survivor by nature and will stab anyone who comes to close to her. Lewan is struggling with a drug and alcohol addiction because it can drown out most of her memories. Jon and Lewan feel an instant connection. Jon had been a marine and an FBI agent before he was turned. Lewan hates all vampires. She had been tortured by Gemini and was out for revenge. The U S created hybrids with supernatural powers to help fight against the leeches.
For some reason i could not get into this story. I usually love vampire stories but this one just didn’t seem to keep my interest. There was a lot of violence and fighting. It was fast paced it just wasn’t for me so I am not rating this. I am sure many others will love this story just wasn’t for me.
