This is a hold nothing back volume of poetry that us powerful and real. Patricia Smith takes the news stories that we hear and turns them in to poems that are moving and compelling in a way that a news story cannot be. She brings the lives, deaths, fears, and experiences of black men in to sharp relief and I recommend that this book be read far and wide.

I was saving to read this book for the right time. Patricia Smith is one of the most important poets of our time and I wanted to give this the time it deserves.
However, by the time the moment came the book was already expired so I didn't have a chance to read it.
