Great devotional that's focused on the Holy Spirit, which we sometimes overlook by is vital in our Spiritual walk!
Thoughts:
Author Jennifer LeClaire dares to take Scripture to heart and imagines a devotional in a conversational style through EVENINGS WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT!
This difference makes for an enjoyable meditation for your heart to bond deeply in His Word, and it keeps you moving in faith through prayer, Bible study, and chosen verses. It serves as a daily reminder as we sludge through life’s problems to watch out for a trap of trying to handle things all on our own.
Journalizing comes back into focus inside an inspiring work of faith!

End of the day prayers is growing, through Spirit led conversational devotions where faith comes alive in EVENINGS WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT by Jennifer LeClaire! Through her journal entries, a devotional style begins to lead a creative meditation to grow in faith through Scripture, prayer and Bible studies.
Evenings With the Holy Spirit is basically the companion devotional of LeClaire’s Mornings With the Holy Spirit; Listening to the Still Small Voice of God. It is a devotional broken into twelve months of the year, with a small devotion for every day, making this a comprehensive book.
Each daily reading begins with a message given from God’s point of view, as if God was speaking to us personally. It is only a small section, a brief paragraph at best. There are then normally three Bible passages or verses listed for the reader to take the time to read and meditate on. The final part of
each devotion is a guided prayer to fully embrace what the day’s topic was about.
Some people might think it sacrilegious to write something as if from God Himself. What one needs to remember is that this is simply a work of fiction. It’s not claiming to be a new revelation from God, it is not replacing the Word as the cannon of text for believers to turn to. It is simply imagining God talking to us one to one. It’s meant as an encouragement, not a replacement of God’s Word.
This is a reassuring book to use, although it would have been great if there had been an index in the back to look up the themes found in the entries through the year. It is not a huge commitment of time to use this devotional, making it perfect for those facing a time crunch or those who are new to the daily devotional habit.
A positive book.
We all need to take time with the Lord each and every day. This book was wonderful. I would buy for gifts.
I received an ARC copy of this book for free in return for an honest review
This book review is part of a blogging challenge which asks read something diverse from what we are used to reading, may it be from a different country, a different viewpoint, from an author of a different culture, or a different religion.
I chose to read Evenings With The Holy Spirit, for this challenge, because I am not Christian, actually I am Pagan.
I like daily devotionals in general. One thing that I miss from being Christian is the ready-available devotionals that can literally be found anywhere here in the US. They are encouraging, motivating, and often heart-warming in content and advice.
This daily devotional reminded me of these charms and the feelings they evoked. Even as a practicing Pagan, I can appreciate the comfort a reader of that faith can find in the words written for each and every evening. It is tempting to loose myself - for at least a moment - in that comfort.
I am not going to start a theological debate, or divulge all of the reasons why I left Christianity, this is not the place for that, but this book does highlight some of what works, and some of the reasons why someone would be attaching themselves to the protecting ways a book religion can offer.
Evenings With The Holy Spirit is well written, and lovely voiced, warm and welcoming. I think for someone of the Christian faith, this book would make a great read because I can truly see how it will ease the anxiety we often feel after a long hard day of working toward whatever goals we have in life.
