(33% in), and this one's not for me. A lot of amazing concepts and ideas, but I'm yet to find a character I like.
I'm also not sold on some of the relationships. In one of the stories, the characters have been in a relationship for 6 months, but they act awkward/more like co-workers (*cough* at first, I thought the guy had hired a prostitute *cough*). It's weird as hell that she's never been to his place by 6 months into their relationship. And there are too many unrealistic reactions to "there's a skeleton that's kinda alive living in my closet", like continuing their date night as normal (watching a movie, etc) and forgetting the skeleton "roommate" is there (if temporarily), and y'know... getting involved in someone else's meds, when clearly the relationship isn't far enough along for that; it's not far enough along if she had to find out he's on meds 6 months in and from looking through his bathroom cabinet...
Another story ends with a "this short story is continued in [novel]". If including a short story that continues in a novel, it should stand alone. This one does not. It feels incomplete and has ideas brought up, but left unanswered.
Despite my above comments, the actual sci-fi parts are pretty cool (and sometimes quite amusing). That said, I decided not to continue reading this.
Thank you for the chance to read and review the book.
