Emilia St George is the heiress of the millionaire Thomas St George. Her fortune was a gimmick for the fortune hunters, but in truth she was married to a duchy heir, Edmund Worseley, who was a diplomat.
But on their wedding day, Emilia's former fiancé, Hamilton Sparrow, the new Viscount Vale, appears and takes her away.
He didn't kidnap her by loving her above all things, but because he saw that one of the guests was a rent assassin and was there to kill Emilia.

Many become suspect: her fiance Edmund; a distant Emilia's cousin, Dominick Ware, who would be the heir of her father; And even a man involved in an old fraud case she discovered at the city museum.

Hamilton needed to find out quickly who wanted to see Emilia dead before she even entered the church.
While Hamilton kept her under surveillance to protect her, Emilia remembered that although her marriage to Hamilton had been arranged by their parents many years ago, she had always been in love with him and suffered greatly when he ended their engagement.
But Emilia didn't know the real reason for this breakup, only that her heart was broken. And now, as she went on forgetting him, he reappears in her life and invades her heart again.
But time runs, and death can reach them quickly...

A captivating plot, with interesting and even funny characters at times.

I really, really, really love this series. Starting with Spy Fall, every one of those books kept me glued to my reader and I didn't put it away till the last page was read.

When Sparrow kidnaps Emilia right from the altar where she was just about to get married to a duke's son, he doesn't do that, contrary to what Emilia might think, because he has a habit of breaking up weddings for sport.

Of course, Emilia might be a bit a bit touchy there as he was the last one who left her standing at the altar but facts count, don't they? And he couldn't have let her marry somebody when her life seems to be in danger, right? So...no matter how good his intentions were, right now it leaves him with a very unhappy Emilia and also (too) much time for some realizations of his own.

Needless to say, this series being as amazing as it is, nothing is as simple as it might look and very quickly it's not just their lives at risk but also their hearts.

I love those amazing, complex characters and the well written, gripping story - a wonderful book, that I can definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this book by Diana Quincy, it is everything I love in a book and more. This book tells the tale of Emilia St. George, and Hamilton Sparrow.

Emilia is minutes away from getting married when she is kidnapped by none other than the man who ruined her first wedding, her ex-fiance Hamilton Sparrow. She is beyond furious, however she has no knowledge that someone is trying to kill her, and when Sparrow sees the assassin in the crowd outside the wedding he has no other choice.

This book is full of angst, mystery and some really good encounters between Emilia and Sparrow, even though Emilia is to be married in two weeks time. I loved how the author weaved in and out of the plot with different characters, and I never knew who would be the one responsible for everything!

I really liked the dialog in this book as well, and it keeps the book moving at a good pace. So the question remains-will emilia go through with the wedding with her current fiance, or will she realize that she may have other options! Loved how the book ended!

I gave this book 5***** romantic stars!

Emilia is minutes from the altar when suddenly she finds herself tossed over the shoulder of the one man she did not expect to see on this wedding day, Hamilton Sparrow. The man who jilted her some years earlier at the altar, and who broke her heart. See, while Emilia isn’t head-over-heels in love with her now fiancé, she does wish and expect to marry, does find an attraction in being the wife of a diplomat, and does feel that she is doing the right thing. If her heart is not all in, at least she believes she can trust her soon to be husband.

Hamilton Sparrow was in His Majesty’s service as a spy for years, but an unexpected inheritance of a title meant that he no longer could continue to spy. He’s a guest at Emilia’s wedding (they were betrothed as children) and he notices an assassin he fears is coming for Emilia. So, he does the next best thing, rescues the woman he’d wronged in the past.

This easily could have turned into trite and tired, the rake making attempts to right a wrong he’d done to the innocent woman, realizing his mistake and begging her to take him back. She, still in love with her first, quickly reverting to innocent clichéd female of the time, head full of romantic possibilities and the allure of him foregoing all others due to his abiding love for her. But Quincy managed to leave that aside and take us on a fun romp through the story, adding clues and red herrings to keep our interest as the pair gradually move from polite to friends to love.

While the villain was easy to spot early on, plenty of secondary characters from dubious to upright were introduced as Hamilton unearths the who and why behind the threat to Emilia, even as there were no early indications as to why she, a rather unremarkable young woman from a moneyed family would (or could) be enough of a threat to require her demise.

For her part, although Emilia was innocent and in her way, strong in her own beliefs, she isn’t quick to forget or forgive Hamilton’s jilting, and even less apt to offer him her trust. Their friendship allows her to see the man as he truly is, and he comes to realize that she isn’t the “usual” of her type, and he perhaps didn’t see the advantages of such a woman by his side when he was younger. Gradually the reader untangles the webs of deceit, agendas and the background between our couple, most often as Hamilton himself finds the answers. Clever and quick to read, the story holds interest and is a nice twist on a more traditional romance.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

FROM LONDON WITH LOVE by Diana Quincy has everything you will ever want from a Regency romance and more. Compelling characters, danger, and passion that is off the charts, are just some of the gripping parts of this story. Twice Hamilton Sparrow has ruined wealthy heiress Emilia St. George's, wedding day - the first time when he called off their own betrothal which had been agreed upon since they were children, and secondly when he kidnaps her on the day she is supposed to marry Edmund. The first time he broke her heart, the second time he infuriates her. As soon as Sparrow spots the hired killer in the wedding crowd, he will do anything he can to protect Emilia. Although they never really knew each other that well, and he believes neither had formed an attachment, he will stop at nothing to stop whoever wants to see her dead. As Sparrow and Emilia try to uncover who is behind it all, he cannot help but want this feisty, alluring, intelligent woman who shocks him at every turn. But Sparrow's past has taught him that women cannot be trusted and love is not an option, no matter how much he wishes differently. Emilia has always loved Sparrow even though he never knew, but she is marrying Edmund now. At least that way her heart will be protected for she will never love him, and she will get to travel the world as a diplomat's wife, engrossing herself in her art and fulfilling her promise to her grandfather. But somebody wants Emilia dead and will stop at nothing to achieve it. FROM LONDON WITH LOVE by Diana Quincy swept me into this exhilarating, passionate world and I never wanted it to end. A wonderful historical romance that will melt your heart.

I found this book through netgalley and thought they blurb sounded fun and received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. A bride whisked away from her wedding by the ex that broke her heart years ago. Doesn’t that sound fun? I thought it must be because he loved her and couldn’t tolerate anyone else marrying her. Nope, it is because he saw assassins in the church’s congregation! Oh my!

I generally can’t abide reading a series out of order, so I found the first two books in this series at my local library. While the first and second books rely heavily on each other, this book could quite easily be read as a standalone novel. The characters are familiar, but fun. I enjoyed Sparrow’s sense of honor and adventure, as well as Emilia’s conversations about painting and art. I am still wondering what happened to the original painting at the heart of this book’s mystery. That plot line must get resolved in the next book, because it seems to be a hole in this one. Though, in all fairness, I stayed up well after bedtime to finish this book and may have missed that resolution. Overall, the book is well written, enjoyable, and a solid installment in this series. I love how the writer incorporates a Bond title into the book titles and into the plot. The pacing is on an even track in this book and the romance builds nicely, though the first kiss comes a bit out of the blue.

From London with Love is a fun mystery/spy themed historical romance novel. I can happily recommend it as a standalone or as part of the series and look forward to reading more books by this author.

Five years ago Sparrow broke off his engagement with Emilia. Now she is ready to marry the grandson of a duke when Sparrow kidnaps her before she can get down the aisle. Sparrow sees a hired assassin that he is familiar with and knows that Emilia is in trouble. As they escape, they are shot at and so he must get her away before anything else can happen. There are other attempts to kill her and an attempted abduction. Who is trying to kill her and are they after her family too? After being betrayed, Sparrow thinks he doesn't have a heart left, but Emilia shows him that he still has feelings. Will he be able to give her his whole heart?

I had never read anything by Diana Quincy before and since this was the third book in the series decided to go back and read the other two first. I absolutely loved the first two and was very much looking forward to this one. I liked Sparrow in the second book even though you only met him for a bit at the end. I was disappointed with him at first in this book. I understand his promiscuity was essential to the story but it made me kinda think poorly of him at first. I did come to like him very much and I loved poor Emilia. One other thing that bothered me was that after waiting and waiting for them to finally have sex this great rake who has bedded so many women kinda rushes through his and Emilia's first time together and then afterwards he reflects on how profound it was when we really didn't see that. Also after everything he just suddenly realizes he loves her. I really did actually end up loving this book and the characters just not as much as the first two. I will definitely look for more books by this Author.

Ms. Quincy writing is so wonderful and creative. From London with Love is such an engaging novel with a perfect blend of mystery, and delightful romance. Emilia and Sparrow was very good together and I loved every time they were on the page. The banter and the sensual tension was well done, and progressed in a believable way as we saw Emilia learning to trust Sparrow once more, and unwittingly laying siege to his heart. Good suspenseful plot and lovely romance.

Nice historical with a little bit of intrigue and a bit of sexy time. Sparrow and Emilia were betrothed as children, but he broke the engagement. Love wasn’t a part of the equation for him, but it was for Emilia, so when they meet again (as he’s kidnapping her from her wedding) she is furious. Soon the threat to her life is revealed and as Sparrow works to keep her safe love blossoms. In the end, we get the HEA we want, but for me the passion was somewhat lacking.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGallery, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

From London with Love by Diana Quincy is the third book in the Rebellious Brides series. Regretfully I have not read the first two books in the series, but thankfully each works as a standalone. This was an engaging, touching and sometimes humorous second chance romance that I devoured in two sittings.

Coffee dates with From London with Love

First date: Hamilton Sparrow abducts Emilia St. George moments before she is about to wed the grandson of a duke. This is the second time he has ruined her wedding plans. The first time was when he jilted her. Ooo right away I am intrigued! Quincy further ensnares me when we discover someone is attempting to kill Emilia. I enjoyed their initial interaction but can see both of these two need work. It will be interesting to watch this tale unfold.

Second date: Quincy shares some back story, as another attempt is made on Emilia's life. I like Emilia despite her self-esteem issues, and I must say I blame her mother for some of those problems. She is about to marry into a loveless marriage, but I understood her reasoning. With her reputation still intact, Sparrow, the St. George's and Emilia herself try to discover who wants her dead. The list of suspects is long from the obvious her fiance to a shady art collector. Of course, all of this has Sparrow, how Lord Vale and Emilia spending time in each other's company, While they may have been childhood neighbor's Vale begins to realize there is so much more to Emilia.

Third date: Emilia surprised the heck out of me. She is quite the forward-thinking woman. This slow building, unplanned romance begins to heat and I for one have swooned. I always laugh when characters make these plans in their heads or have preconceived notions. We all know it never turns out as they expect. I will readily admit I love seeing it all unravel! With the suspect list narrowing, Quincy had me flipping the pages as intentions are made, traps are laid, and danger ensues. The build to the climax was not rushed as the case and the romance weaved together. I was flipping the pages in hopes of a drama free HEA. While nothing was surprising I enjoyed watching the events unfold as Quincy left me grinning.

A little suspense, a little romance and two characters who deserve to find their happy. From London to Love was an addictive read.

Thoroughly entertaining read!!! This is my first book by Diana Quincy and now I am looking forward to reading more! The book is part of a series, but in my opinion it can be read as a stand-alone. I haven't read the first book and don't feel I missed anything by not having read it.

I have to say up front that I knew who the villain was right away, but the author did throw enough red herrings into the mix to make me wonder every now and again.

This is a story of second chances between Emilia St. George (a VERY rich heiress) and Hamilton Sparrow (who just unexpectedly inherited a title). Sparrow is very unhappy because inheriting the title meant he had to give up his 'job' at the Home Office and he loved that job!

Sparrow and Emilia were betrothed as children, but he broke the engagement on their wedding day. For Sparrow, there was no love involved in the betrothal and he thought Emilia felt the same. She even told him it wasn't a problem -- but it was because she loved him.

Years later, Sparrow is in attendance at Emilia's wedding to Edmund Worsley who is a diplomat and the grandson of a Duke. As he's entering the church Sparrow sees a paid assassin that he had had dealings with in the past - and the assassin was closely watching Emilia. So, Sparrow kidnaps Emilia to get her safely away from the assassin. Thus this exciting story begins!

One of the things I really, really liked about this book was that there wasn't the insta-lust that we so often see. These two characters spent time together and really got to know each other before the lust kicked in. Now Emilia didn't have to fall in love because she had always loved Sparrow, but she did have to find her way to trusting him. Sparrow had never paid attention to Emilia when they were betrothed the first time and therefore really knew very little about her. This second time around, as he gets to know her he really comes to appreciate her and finally to love her.

If you like the really steamy scenes you won't find many in this book. The first scene is at about the 70% mark in the book and then I think there is only one more.

The end of the book tickled me. There was a tense chase where the bad guy had drugged and kidnapped Emilia. He was taking her to Gretna Green to force her to marry him. Then, they arrive at Gretna Green -- well -- you'll just have to read it, but I smiled most of the way through that part! Great ending and wrap-up.

"I requested and received this book at no cost to me and volunteered to read it; my review is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher."

Spies, historical setting, gentlemen who inherit titles they do not want, and women who know what they want and go after it. Yes, this book has it all. I could not resist. Spies are a favorite so Sparrow was easy to like. Oh, make no mistake, he is a libertine until his conscience kicks in. Emilia is in a quandary over “do I act the way society wants me to act” or “to hell with it”. You can guess what she decides to do. The mystery has twists and turns even though you really know the identity of the villain. I love watching Sparrow and Emilia figure it out. A refreshing story of not love at first sight (Sparrow) but a slow realization of respect and love.

I love this new author to me. I really enjoyed her writing style and I can't wait for more books in the future from this author. This story is about Emilia St. George, who is moments away from marrying the grandson of a duke. When Hamilton Sparrow, who once jilted her decides to kidnap her at the altar. But Sparrow is trying to save her. I am not going to spoil anymore of the book but it was an amazing read.

Interesting plot that kept me reading. Bawdy fun.

The story of Emilia and Sparrow was a pretty awesome start to the first of a series! There's a lot going on with this book with all the culprits who might be attempting to kill Emilia, or her parents, or Sparrow, along with the introduction to secondary characters who might have their own story next. You're kept guessing on who the attempted killer is and their reasons til later in the book. However, there's quite a lot of people who have reasons! (Not that Emilia is bad, but there's money involved as well as her past actions) Very good read and can't wait to see what happens next! The reason for the 4 starts is I thought there should have been more repercussions at the end.

Ehh... this was ok. I found some plot points a little silly and overly coincidental. The hero and heroine were... just ok. This author loves to depict her heroes as super promiscuous (this is the third of her books that I've read). I assume it's to set them up to fall hard for one particular woman, but I really don't love these types of heroes. This one seemed particularly... gross. By the time I had gotten through 7% of the book on my kindle, I had already read (graphic) descriptions of his sexual acts with his mistress, plus a threesome, and by 16%, more descriptions of sex with yet another woman... none of whom are the heroine, who of course is pure as the driven snow. Personally, I really dislike the reformed rake (aka man-whore) trope, and this really detracted from my enjoyment of the book. I keep thinking that I hope the heroine doesn't catch any STDs. As far as the "mystery" goes - eh. Predictable. Sparrow couldn't have been much of a spy if he couldn't figure it all out.
