Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon starts you off immediately in a house break in and a torturing of a dog but not a torture torture. Whoever it was it was cruel to the dog when they destroyed the work area and painted bad things into the wood in the shed. Adam, is the care taker, he found and now owns the shy disfigured dog. Adam is an ex-con but a new CREATION - guess which one trumps the other???? that's right CHRIST:) The dog, like Adam does not trust anyone until the day he met the Sherriff Lexie - they both felt a little trust that day -- when she did an investigation into the woodworking and all the graphite and the breaking and entering. Adam was very impressed at how knowledgeable she was. Lexie treated him with love, trust, and respect - friendly right from the start and he had her on his heart from the start and she had him on her heart from the same. How do you go from graphitti to having someone stay on their mind and heart? How do you go from someone being on your mind to asking an ex-con to help this boy stop doing things that could lead to things that could lead to a life like his - a life of crime - GOD has plans and Adam is listening - thank GOD he is. Is this enough to get Lexie's attention? Would Lexie ever truly care for an ex-con? Could she ever like him as he cares for her?

Lexie Graham, Chief of Police in Hope Harbor, get's called out to check out a vandalism, one of a seemingly connected series, which is where she meets Adam Stone. Lexie is a busy mom juggling her job and raising her son, Matt. But when circumstances brings Adam and Lexie together, Lexie's mother sees a prime opportunity for matchmaking.
Adam Stone works construction and mostly keeps to himself. He came to Christ while he was in prison, and has been on the right side of the law since his release. He never planned on falling for a cop.
Can a string of vandalisms bring two heart together?
Adam rescued a dog he found hurt on the side of the road, and named him Clyde, even though Clyde still limps he doesn't let that slow him down. When the vandals hurt Clyde she arranges for her mom and Matt to watch him while Adam works. Lexie also asks Adam to help mentor a young man, encouraging him to pursue things other than crime.
I like the way that Adam get's down to Matt's level and helps him connect with Clyde. Luis is a great friend to Adam who gives him sound advice, and helps him to be more confident.
Lexie sees Adam for who he is now and doesn't hold his past against him, I like that she admires him for who he is now. She is a great mom, and has a compassionate heart.
This is a great book, I love the whole feel of the community and how they come together and come behind one of their own when times get tough and rumors fly. This is a wonderful read about two people who gave up on finding love. I loved the dialogue, the characters, interactions, and just revisiting Hope Harbor in general. Clyde is a lovely dog, who keeps reaching out even though he's been hurt in the past, and he helps Adam to do the same. All of the residents are so lovely, and there are ones that you just don't forget even though they play a seemingly small role. Fantastic read!

Best of the series so far. I found myself cheering for Adam and Lexie very quickly. I enjoyed getting to know them individually and then once they interacted I knew I wanted them together. But can that work when one is the police chief and one is an ex-con?
Adam has made mistakes in his past, but since coming to Hope Harbor he has been a model citizen, working hard and helping others. However because of his past he is dealing with self-esteem issues and wonders who would want to even be friends with him never mind who would date him. But thanks to the influence of Reverend Baker he has learned to turn to God. His confidence is just starting to build up when a rumor starts spreading about him while he debates how to handle it he gets a true surprise. Lexie on the other hand has turned away from God due to a tragic experience in her past and has not shared the full story with anyone. However she feels compelled to share her whole story with Adam. Can he help her see that God is always with her and there for her?
In addition to previous characters we have come to know over the series we meet Lexie’s mom and son, Annette & Matt. I loved the mom, she was just the right amount of pushy with Lexie. Unlike previous books where Charley seemed to know more than was possible, this time things seemed much more realistic. The secondary storyline with Brian was enjoyable as well, I liked that it didn’t seem like I was reading a separate story wondering how they would connect.
Themes of second-chances, change being possible, forgiveness being offered and good being brought out in people are evident. The budding romance was written delightful and enjoyable, with a wonderful and heart-warming ending.

Hope Harbor police chief Lexie Graham has plenty on her plate raising her son alone and dealing with a sudden rash of petty theft and vandalism in her coastal Oregon hometown. As a result, she has zero time for extracurricular activities--including romance. Ex-con Adam Stone isn't looking for love either--but how ironic is it that the first woman to catch his eye is a police chief? Yet wishing for things that can never be is foolish.
Nevertheless, when Lexie enlists Adam's help to keep a young man from falling into a life of crime, sparks begin to fly. And as they work together, it soon becomes apparent that God may have a different--and better--future planned for them than either could imagine.
This is an unusual romance in that a police chief falls in love with an ex-con. The pitfalls and public opinion are against them. There's also the crime spree that has hit town. As Lexie tries to solve the crimes she enlists Adams help in mentoring a young teen. Along the way Adam helps Lexie find her lost faith.
I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone.

Loved this book! Does Irene Hannon write any bad ones, after all?
Lexie Graham is the police chief, widow and single mom living at Hope Harbor. Vandalism in the small town is keeping Lexie busy in her attempt to solve the crimes. One of the victims of the vandalism is ex-con, Adam. Adam moved to Hope Harbor two years ago to start over fresh. When one of the vandals is caught, Lexie persuades Adam to mentor the young boy in hopes of turning his life around.
Lexie discovers she is developing romantic feelings towards Adam, something she never expected again in her life after losing her husband unexpectedly. Adam has his own concerns, as Lexie is the police chief and he is an ex-con.
Great story with mystery, romance and second chances.
I was given an ecopy of this book to read by the publisher, Revell, and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

AnotherHope Harbor winner. Irene know how to weave a mystery and to keep her audience wanting more

This is the 3rd book in the Hope Harbor series and I think it is maybe the best one yet. I felt great sympathy for Adam and his predicament—debt to society paid, but still on the outskirts of society. Lexie, the police chief, is sort of caught off guard by her feelings for Adam—an ex-convict. It takes her a while to get past her caution and give Adam a second chance. My favorite character from all the books is Charley. How does he know so much? Is he an “angel unaware?” Don’t miss this novel if you believe in second chances.
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

A Story of Grace and Redemption
Sandpiper Cove was the first book I’ve read by author Irene Hannon. I hope to read other books by this gracious and gifted author.
I loved reading this book. It was a real treasure with stories of grace and redemption in the lives several characters who live in Hope Harbor. This book is an example of why I like to read books by Christian authors who write about faith and show it lived out in their characters and everyday life.
Sandpiper Cove tells the story of Adam Stone, an ex-con who moved to Hope Harbor with the hopes of starting a new life for himself. He’s quiet and a bit of a loner. However, crime which he was hoping to get away from, comes to his doorstep, not once, but twice. Getting to know the police chief, Lexie Graham, was not on his list of things to do. However, providence was at work in the lives of these two people and their friends, family and co-workers.
I really liked the characters in this book, both the main characters and supporting characters. It felt like I could walk into Hope Harbor and meet these people and feel welcome. They were people I would want to know. I liked the relationships in this book and how it showed people can impact others for good or bad.
I appreciated that Sandpiper Cove was a safe book, one that did not assault me with vulgarity, profanity, sexual immorality and violence.
I highly recommend Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon. This book was a pleasure to read. The only problem I encountered was that it ended. I look forward to reading more of Irene’s books.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Revell publishers for the opportunity to read Sandpiper Cove. I was under no obligation to give a favorable review.

Just finished this in 3 days. I loved it and read it every spare chance I had. Lexie and Adam are a great couple. This tale of second chances was very well done. It is always a pleasure returning to Hope Harbor.

Sandpiper Cove: A Hope Harbor Novel – Irene Hannon
I really enjoy reading Irene Hannon’s book. She has a unique way of drawing people in. I love how she really gives details from past book’s characters. I LOVE THAT! Sandpiper Cove will not disappoint! Lexie Graham is the widowed police chief of Hope Harbor. She and her son live together with her mom. Unfortunately, there are cases of vandalism around town. Adam Stone, a former felon, has lent a hand repairing the vandalism. When they catch the vandals he also helps mentor the wrongdoer.
As you can possibly imagine Lexie and Adam work together. There are obstacles they have to overcome given their positions in society. I love how they take care of all involved.
This really is a good book. Read it. I was given this book in the case that I may choose to review it!

Sandpiper Cove, the 3rd in the Hope Harbor series by Irene Hannon, is a heartwarming story of second chances and hope for new beginnings. The town of Hope Harbor once again lives up to its name when ex-con Adam Stone, struggling to put his past behind him where it belongs, discovers that most of the residents, including police chief Lexie Graham, are more than willing to welcome him into their fold. Adam and his rescue dog, Clyde, share scars and hurts that only time and friendship can ease.
While each book in the series, including Sandpiper Cove, can stand alone because they have their own main characters, there is some character and event overlap. While not necessary, reading them all and watching the town and townspeople become more developed can provide the reader with a rich and satisfying experience.
Sandpiper Cove does not pack a big wallop of conflict, but it does have some tense moments and some characters bent on ruining other’s first chances and second chances. Internal conflict, however, runs rampant for both Adam and Lexie (both running from a past filled with guilt, wrong choices, and heartache) as they see in each other a chance to open their hearts and take that leap of faith called love.
One of my favorite recurring characters is Charley, artist/fish taco extraordinaire, who is heavy on wisdom and sound advice and light on stress. Anyone else would be considered a busy body when offering unsolicited observations and friendly suggestions, but the people of Hope Harbor can’t seem to resist Charley’s uncanny ability to see someone’s personal struggles and know exactly what to say. People also can’t resist Charley’s fish tacos. Be prepared to craved these tacos every time someone in the story places an order at Charley’s taco truck. I could almost smell the heavenly aroma!
Hannon’s writing style flows beautifully throughout the series as she builds the town of Hope Harbor, with its myriad characters and its Christian-based theme that will leave you filled with hope and faith in humanity. Sandpiper Cove shows us that most people are willing to look beyond a perceived negative image and rocky past and see a person’s worth and goodness, offering a smile, friendship, acceptance, love, and a place to call home.

Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon. I am convinced Hannon can write any genre from thriller to family drama and it will be a must read. She has mastered the skill of sucking you into the story where you cannot put the book down.
Lexie is the police chief of Hope Harbor. Adam Stone is an ex-con who has served time in jail for crimes he committed. It would appear as if these two could not be a more unlikely couple but Hannon builds a believable and beautiful romance between the two of them. Vandalism brings them together and then Lexie reaches out to Adam for help with a wayward teen. The more time they spend together the more the sparks begin to smolder.
The secondary characters were like the cherry on top. A heartwarming relationship between Lexie and her son, Matt and her mom Annette. Scenes between the Reverend and the priest had me chuckling as they teased each other on a variety of topics from donuts to the Old Testament. Charley, the taco truck chef, delivered much wise advice. He really makes you stop and think. For us dog lovers, Clyde, the dog that Adam rescues is a precious addition.
Sexual content: kissing,
Violence: vandalism,

Sandpiper Cove is book three from the Hope Harbor series. It was so good to be brought back to Hope Harbor, Oregon again. Police chief and single mom, Lexie Graham, has a lot to deal with that does not include a love life. The town is having issues with vandalism and theft, taking more of Lexie's time. She then asks ex-con, Adam, for help. Even though he has a past, I just loved Adam and enjoyed his personality. I enjoyed how the two were able to grow throughout the story.
I would give Sandpiper Cove 4 stars.
I received this book from NetGalley.com, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion

First book by this author. I really like everything about this book. I hope to read more by her in the future.

The Hope Harbor series is a great read and this new book in the series is no exception. I like seeing how Lexie and Adam work together even though their worlds seem very different. Lexie had a lot going on and soon learns to depend on the help of Adam to help out someone headed down the wrong path. I enjoyed seeing how the characters planned things out and learned to trust in each other.
I received a copy of the book from the publisher, the review is my own.

As always this book did not disappoint. I laughed and cried while reading this wonderful romance, I wish at times that I lived in a town like Hope Harbor. The characters are all wonderful. I wonder sometimes if Charley isn't some kind of angel. Adam and Lexie and Brian and Brenda learn many lessons. I look forward to many more stories based here in Hope Harbor. I received this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Whilst this book can be read alone, it is part of a series and I found it good to
be back amongst 'friends' - both a familiar setting, and characters.
The Christian message is not forced, rather it challenges the reader to think.
Three areas in particular are addressed : second chances ( both giving & receiving);
judging by appearances; and the importance of mentoring children/teenagers.
As Christians, we need to 'walk the talk'.
A book I wanted to keep on reading, without coming to the end of it.... I will
certainly be looking forward to visiting Hope Harbor again - and preferably soon!

I really enjoy Irene Hannon's mystery series, so I wanted to try her softer books as a something new, and I was pleasantly surprised as to how much I enjoyed this, was very quick and easy to get into and was very relaxing.

What a wonderful story of second chances and love. A powerful message displayed throughout her entire book as well, you cannot judge a book by its cover. That as well as Gods door is always open for you to come back to Him, no matter how long you’ve been away.
Charley, taco truck man, was my favorite character. He had a subtle way of pushing people into good directions and always seemed to know what was going on. He almost felt like an angel to me, there to provide support, advice, and encouragement. And that’s just what he did. While he may not have been in a lot of scenes, he was in the book enough to make a difference and a powerful impact in the community.
Then there is the sweet story between Adam and Lexie. It seemed like they couldn’t be more different, but there was so much more to Adam than meets the eye. He had this way about him, very humble and just helping others for the sake of helping, not to get attention. And I love that Lexie saw him for what he really was, p she did not let his past define him.
If you’re looking for a sweet story this is for you. There were a few tear jerking moments, but well worth it! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book but it was not my favorite by her. Too many cases going on at the same time got confusing at times
