Irene Hannon is a master of characterization. The people in her stories are so real. I’m sure I could meet them on the street and recognize them and I wish I would. While I personally wouldn’t want to eat fish tacos, I’d love to meet Charley and see what kind of mysterious wisdom he’d have for me. In fact, I hope there’s a future book that tells more of Charley’s story. He encourages both Lexi Graham, the police chief, and Adam Stone, an ex-con, and reminds them that God’s ways are not our ways. Don’t we all need that friend who will give us a gentle prod once in a while?
Lexi is the police chief and a single mom. While investigating some acts of vandalism, she meets the ex-con in town. I appreciate that after a short time, Lexi sees beyond who Adam was to who Adam is. She wasn’t wishy washy but after thinking things through was faithful to their budding friendship even when suspicious started lurking around Adam. That was beautifully refreshing.
Adam is fighting to make a new start for himself in Hope Harbor. He doesn’t believe anyone would want anything to do with him but keeps serving and plugging away and living the life he wishes he had lived earlier. He even tries to intervene in a young man’s life when he starts making some really bad choices. When hard times come around, he needs to decide if he has what it takes to stick it out in Hope Harbor.
Hope Harbor reminds me of the little town I grew up in where everyone knew you and people helped each other out. Reading Sandpiper Cove was like going home. I would highly recommend it.
Thank you to Revell for providing me with a free e-copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This is a nice relaxing story. It is predictable but has teachable moments throughout. A relationship with the Lord is emphasized. Very enjoyable.

Irene Hannon does not disappoint with this third installment of the Hope Harbor series with Sandpiper Cove. Although part of the series, it can be read as a stand alone novel. It's the story of Adam Stone, an ex-con, who is trying to start a new life in Hope Harbor, and he crosses paths with the Sheriff Lexie Graham over a series of vandalism incidents. Hannon develops her characters and lets their flaws show to help readers relate and learn life lessons through the characters' journey. Pick up this book today, and be prepared to be sucked into the world of Hope Harbor.

The third book in the Hope Harbor series brings the romance to a whole new level. Romance lovers will not want to miss this one.
Lexi Graham is the Hope Harbor police chief and is being pulled in too many directions at once. She has her son to take care of along with the residents of Hope Harbor, who have been dealing with a string of theft and vandalism. All of this is more than enough to keep her busy and leave zero time for anything else, romance included. With being so busy, she is caught completely off guard when she finds herself attracted to one of the victims of vandalism, Adam Stone. To make matters more complicated, Adam is an ex-con. He came to town after getting out of prison trying to make a new start. When Lexi catches one of the vandals, she talks to Adam about trying to be a mentor to the boy who is going through a tough time at home and could use his influence. Adam isn’t sure he is the right person to help the boy, but feels God leading him to try. Together Adam and Lexi work to make a difference in the lives of those they can reach and see if there is anything left to make work between the two of them.
This story is one of second chances. Lexi needs a second chance at love and Adam needs a second chance to prove he can be a good person. He doesn’t come to town looking for love and doesn’t think he deserves it either. I like the way he doesn’t want feel as if he isn’t good enough for Lexi, (even though deep down that is how he feels.) He has several people in town looking out for him who tell him that he doesn’t have to be the same person that spent time in prison. He did his time and now he needs to be willing to move on from that. I love the message of knowing it is ok to make mistakes as long as we learn from them and move on to do the work God has planned for us to do. Sometimes we tend to beat ourselves up over things that we need to let go of. If God can forgive us, then we should be able to forgive ourselves and move on too. Irene Hannon is one of the top Christian Romance writers and it is for good reason. She can weave good story with a message and characters we want to see happy. Sandpiper Cove has all of that and more. It is the third in the series, some of the characters are the same, Charley is back and you can’t help but love him, and some are new. You don’t have to read all to enjoy each separately, which is nice. I recommend this to readers that love a good, clean romance story that will put a smile on your face.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

Hannon does it again - a realistic storyline, believable characters and excellent narrations. I look forward to the next one!

Reading a book in the Hope Harbor series is like coming home and revisiting good friends, much like Debbie Macomber’s Cedar Cove series. Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon is Adam Stone and police officer Lexie Graham’s story. But in telling their story, Irene Hannon updates us on other characters’ lives as well. The new characters introduced in this book are well developed and have authentic, relatable struggles. This is a fantastic book, as are all the books in this series. I sincerely hope this author continues with this series. I received a digital copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

Up until recently when I thought of Irene Hannon's books I thought of romantic suspense. With her new adventure into contemporary fiction I'm beginning to broaden my thought classification of her as a writer. I love her voice in suspense and her contemporary fiction writings aren't far behind.
Irene's Hope Harbor series makes me want to take a trip to the Oregon coast. The town is full of what all small towns should be, friendly neighbors that care about and for each other, quirky characters that keep things from being boring, and a sense of belonging that makes you feel like you've been a part of the community forever. Plus the beautiful seaside setting doesn't hurt anything.
In Sandpiper Cove we focus on two people that should belong to two different worlds. Lexie Graham is the police chief and Adam Stone is an ex-con. You would think that the two would steer clear of each other. But the heart is a funny thing. It doesn't consider a person's past, only those possibilities that lie ahead. I enjoyed reading about how these two seemingly incompatible puzzle pieces began to fit together.
There are other ongoing storylines that allow the readers of the series to catch up on what has been going on between the books. Even though this book is part of a series I still think it can be read as a stand-alone novel. There is enough background given for the reader to understand what is going on without being redundant for the series reader. If you've liked Irene Hannon's romantic suspense I urge you to give her contemporary romance a try. You won't be sorry!
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN STORY!!
This is a captivating story that has all the elements of an excellent romantic suspense novel. There are multifaceted characters whom you come to know and love as well as a few who are in need of serious reforming. The description of the different settings makes me want to visit Sandpiper Cove and enjoy the views for myself. The plot involves a mystery but to me it also involves the mystery of human nature as to how opinions about individuals are formed. There are family stories. There is faith lived out for the world to witness. There is a beautiful love story just waiting to happen between two wounded souls. The question is are they willing to take the chance? I received an ARC from NetGalley and Revell. The opinion is expressed here is entirely my own.

I have a confession to make. I like to read romance novels. No, not the kind you're thinking of! All those with the risqué covers, double entendre titles and sizzling situations are not my type. I actually find them to be a bit demeaning to women. But, a good, clean, boy-meets-girl romance is one of my guilty pleasures. And no one writes Christian romance like Irene Hannon! Her latest book Sandpiper Cove is one of my favorites! I love when an author throws a little twist in a story to make it interesting. This book is about a police chief who falls in love with an ex-con. How exciting is that?
Adam Stone had a rough childhood, ran away from home when he was a teenager, ended up in trouble with the law, and went to prison. He got involved in a Christian ministry in prison, and turned his life around. When he got out, he decided to move to Hope Harbor to start a new life. He has a job on a construction crew, has his own little house, attends church every week, has made a few friends in the community, and is living a good life. Lexie Graham is the police chief in Hope Harbor. She spent some time overseas working for a government protection agency where her husband was killed. Now, she lives with her mother and her young son, and has no desire for a new romance. When the town vandals strike Adam, Lexie goes to investigate. She finds herself drawn to the quiet, kind man, who is so very different from her. The two of them realize they have feelings for one another, but can a police chief have a relationship with an ex-con? When accusations against Adam surface, will he walk away? Or will Lexie convince him that his past is behind him, and they can move on together?
In addition to being a sweet romance, Sandpiper Cove has a great message. A person's past does not have to define them. When you give your life to Christ, He gives you a new future. Adam received a life he never could have expected because he opened his heart to others. He saw a young man who was facing some of the same struggles that he went through, and he decided to help him. He earned the love and respect of people in the community through his selfless, giving spirit. He still saw himself as an ex-con, but his friends didn't see him that way. He even inspired Lexie to open her heart again, move past her guilt and return to her faith.
The end of this book promises another installment in this series next spring, and I'm really excited about it! I want to find out who the next lovebirds in Hope Harbor will be, as well as catch up with the characters from other books. I love Charley, with his famous tacos and his endless insights. I never read one of these book without wanting to try a fish taco! The banter between the pastor and the priest is pretty funny, too. And it's always great to get a glimpse of the subjects from other books to see what's happening to them.
This is a great series of not-so-guilty pleasures that inspire and encourage while entertaining. Ms. Hannon is a great Christian romance author, but don't miss out on her thrillers, too! (You can see my review of her book Tangled Webs, here.) Again, some of my favorite reads!
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own, and a favorable review was not required.

When incidents of vandalism keep popping up in the quiet town of Hope Harbor, Oregon, police chief Lexie Graham finds herself spending time with ex-con and new resident Adam Stone. When Lexie realizes quite quickly that Adam isn't behind the recent crimes affecting the town, she enlists his help in mentoring a troubled young teenager. Determined to build a new life for himself, Adam doesn't understand his fascination with Lexie, and tries his best not to wish for things he can never have. While Lexi tries to focus on her job and raising her son, she also can't seem to keep her mind off of the enigmatic Adam. As the pair spend more time together, will they each be able to let go of the past, and learn to truly trust God and each other?
Irene Hannon tells yet another heart-wrenching story of love and forgiveness in hew latest Hope Harbor novel, Sandpiper Cove. Both Lexie and Adam were wonderfully complex and extremely well-developed, and I truly enjoyed every page of their journey. As with Hannon's previous installment, Sea Rose Lane, the plot itself is a bit predictable, and lacks many twists or turns. As character studies, however, Hannon's Hope Harbor novels are nothing short of masterful. While contemporary fiction isn't generally my genre of choice, Sandpiper Cove is equal parts romantic and lovely. I anxiously await any subsequent additions to the Hope Harbor series.

It has been quite a while since I have falling in love with a place and it residents as much as I did with Hope Harbor while reading Sandpiper Cove by Irene Hannon. This small Oregon community will forever stand in my mind as a place that gives second chances while guiding people to trust in God. Police Chief Lexie Graham and ex-con Adam Stone have lived opposite lives but both needed second chances. I was thrilled to see how God worked in both their lives, then to see Him bring these two together.
Besides the two complex main characters there are a host of supporting characters that became an intricate part of the story while becoming unforgettable in their own small way. Now, I want to buy tacos from Charley, hear Rev. Baker’s Sunday sermon, have donuts with Father Murphy, tea with Lexi’s mother, play ball with Clyde and feed the seagulls with Matt.
This is a keeper, one to reread when my spirits need a lift. The only problem is I finished my visit to this place and these people long before I was ready. So it off to purchase the first two books in the series, Hope Harbor and Sea Rose Lane because I can’t wait until the fourth book is released to revisit this community.
The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.

This was a poignant story that will tug at your heartstrings and have you cheering for the underdog. I really appreciated the depth of characters with each of them having multi layers. The spiritual aspect was solid and well placed. Another hit for Irene Hannon!

I have a real weakness for books set in American coastal towns and Hope Harbor sounds like the sort of place I'd love to visit. The writing style has a lovely, comfortable feel about it and I'm delighted that this is part of a series I can catch up with. The characters are drawn so that you feel you know them and can join them in amongst the story, A great mix of romance and friendships. You see the characters working through life's issues and I can't wait to read more by Irene Hannon

I love Irene Hannon books and look forward to a new one being released and this one did not disappoint! This is the 3rd installment in the Hope Harbor series. This book follows Lexie Graham who is not only a single mother, but also the police chief of Hope Harbor and working hard to figure out who is responsible for the string of vandalism throughout the community. She also meets Adam Stone, who is an ex-con and enlists his help to guide a young man away from a life of crime. The longer they work together; they realize sparks are flying and that God has a better plan for their lives.
This is such a sweet story. You really feel for Adam who is turning his life around after his conviction and that people need a second chance at life. You see how alone he is because of the stigma surrounding his life – some by choice and some from some of the community members. He finds a friend in the police chief and learns that he deserves a second chance to be happy and build the life he wants. I would definitely recommend this book to others, just a great story.
** I received a free copy of the book to read for an unbiased review from Netgalley**

Irene Hannon has done it again. What a tremendous addition to the Hope Harbor Series. Sandpiper Cove has all the ingredients of a good book, great plot, great setting and great characters. I highly recommend this book.

Another wonderful journey to Hope Harbor! I think this may have been my favourite so far. In particular, this story takes on the challenge of an ex-felon who has tried to find new life in this small town on the Oregon coast. After meeting the Pastor of Grace Christian during his stint in prison, Adam Stone has found a purpose to life. With the addition of Jesus, and the promise of help from the Pastor, Adam has been working for BJs construction company. Volunteering behind the scenes to help others in the town, he has started to build the kind of reputation he never dreamed possible.
Lexie Graham is the Hope Harbor Police Chief. She's had a rough past of her own. With the tragic death of her husband 5 years ago she's found peace and contentment back in the hometown of her youth. Living with her Mom, while she raises her son Matt, she's quite happy to not upset the status quo. That is until her world collides with Adam's and she discovers just how much she misses her role as 'woman'. That is, once she realizes she is more than cop & mother.
There's trouble brewing in the town, will she be able to solve the case and protect her heart and reputation?
There is a line that stood out to me - "Those who smile the least are often the ones who need the smiles the most." How often do we notice those living on the fringes of our lives that may have needs we are unaware of. It doesn't take much to share a smile, and there is great power in a real genuine smile towards those who just may need it.
Thanks to Netgalley & Revell for the eARC. This is my honest review.

his is the kind of book you want to curl up with on a rainy day. Hope Harbor is a small town, but vandalism is breaking the tranquility of it's residents. Adam Stone is a man with a tainted past, that you come to feel for. His story is one that reminds us that God can work good out of our bad. The romance between Adam and Lexi was sweet and just right. A light easy read for when you need a little escape. Thank you Netgalley for my copy. All of my opinions are my own.

I loved Sandpiper Cove! Irene Hannon is one of my favorite authors and she did not disappoint me with this one. An ex-con and a police chief are like oil and water—but that’s not the case here. Both Hope Harbor Police Chief Lexie Graham and felon Adam Stone both learn that second chances are possible and can bring happiness. Adam comes to Hope Harbor with the appearance of a hardcore, no-nonsense biker. With Lexie’s strong insistence, Adam’s reluctance subsides and he agrees to mentor fifteen-year-old Brian who has been bullied by Lucas Fisher into hanging with the wrong crowd and causing trouble. Brian gets caught in vandalism in Hope Harbor and agrees to help Adam with the repairs of the damaged property. Everyone in Hope Harbor sees the good in Adam. It just goes to show you can’t judge a person based on their outward appearance. Adam has a beautiful soul and Lexie saw through that tough exterior. All of the characters in this book have roles in leading to the happy ending--from Charley and his taco truck, Annette Clark (Lexie’s mom), Matt (Lexie’s son), Luis Dominguez, Brenda Hutton (Brian’s mom) to Lucas Fisher and his parents. As Adam points out, God does, indeed, work for the good of those who love Him.

This is a sweet yet realistic tale of second chances. Both Lexie and Adam have a lot of pain and unresolved emotions in their pasts, and it seems like Hope Harbor is the place for starting over. Plus, who doesn’t love an appearance of Charley and his taco truck? (If you’ve read the preceding HH novels, you know Charley. If you haven’t, well, what’re you waiting for? An engraved invitation? It’s a TACO TRUCK. Get going already.)
If you like stories about redemption and a little romance, Sandpiper Cove is the book for you.
