A re-release of a past book, but still so much fun if you want to start this series from the beginning. Hunky wolf Lex is watching sassy Nina's house, trying to find her brother Gabriel. Sparks fly, and banter galore is rampant in this one. Fun read by a great author. Would recommend.

Human meets wolf and it is explosive…

Nina is human. Lex is wolf. Things could have ended right there. Instead, the sparks that flew between meant neither could walk away…

“She found herself yearning to be close to someone she didn’t have to save, protect or bail out of trouble.”

I LOVED Nina! There was so much she went through and handled to come out as strong and successful as she had. She was tough and sarcastic on the outside with an inner core of strength that kept her going. Her brother was her only family and she was going to protect him, regardless of the cost…

“Truth was, spinster or not, he liked her. More than that, he admired her.”

Ahh, Lex. He was an Enforcer for his Pack so he was uber-strong, his mission to protect his family no matter what. Nina was a breath of fresh air as well as a kick to his ego. She knocked him sideways with her sarcasm and humour but also her confidence in her ability to help herself, her brother and even himself. This big guy was going down in the best way possible – by love!

“Mate or not, the woman was a pain in the ass.”

There was a ton of action and suspense and an equal amount of humour and heart as Nina and Lex investigated and loved their way through this top-notch read. The character development, the overarching story that will link this series together, the laughter, the love… It’s caught me and I can’t wait for more!

I've read many shapeshifter books, but this series has definitely become my favorite. It wasn't what I expected, but I enjoyed every moment of this book. When it comes to the previous shapeshifter books I've read, it's an instant love (which most tend to be), someone choosing to transform (sometimes not), and that's that. There's never really much to the story. But not with Pack Enforcer.

Nina has got to be one of my favorites EVER, she's strong, a badass, witty, and she holds to her ideals. She doesn't take sh*t from anyone and I love that about her. Nina is a character that anyone can admire.

Nina has been taking care of her brother, Gabriel, for years. And he finally pulls her into something more that she's never asked for. Because of what she has done in her past, she has gone years living the life of the straight and narrow. Keeping her small group of friends and running her floral business. She's content with her life. With Gabriel bitten years ago in a bar fight, Nina was exposed to the world of the pack. Now that he's on the run after his friend's murder, Nina is thrown into things that happen too fast and whether she's prepared for it or not, she doesn't really have a choice but to take it all in. Even if it fights everything she believes in.

Lex, he's the pack enforcer and second in command to the alpha, who just happens to be his brother. He's strong, loyal and extremely protective of not only his family, but his pack. And when Nina and Lex come together, it's nothing be interesting and hysterical. Nina definitely gives him a run for his money.

There's a lot of questions that need to be answered in this book, and they go all lengths to find the answers. Not only answers but closure as well.

We really see each character develop as the story goes on, but also about the problems within the lycan mafia (crazy, I know). There's a bigger issue at play, which could possibly expose the wolves in the human world. Yes, there's little exposure to humans, but the last thing they want is to have wolves on everyone's radar.

I thought this was a great story, you can definitely see the bigger story at play, all while it has its' focus on Nina and Lex's story. Individually they grow, but so does their relationship. I'm interested in seeing how Nina will be able to get over certain things when it comes to the wolves. She doesn't exactly trust them all and I side with her on that one. I wanted so much more at the end of the book, but we'll see more of these characters in the books to come.

If you don't like shapeshifters, erotica; don't read this series.

I was a fan of both Lex and Nina in this book. It was a good introduction to the series. Lex and especially Nina both have to overcome challenges for their relationship to succeed. After this book, I can't wait for Cade's and to see how they handle the Pellini Group!

Pack Enforcer is a re-release of a previously published book. The Cascadia Wolves series was also my introduction to Lauren Dane. I read excerpts years ago and was intrigued but never picked up the books to read. When I saw this (and Reluctant Mate) on Netgalley I couldn't resist.

First, this is early Lauren Dane. She is a much, much better writer now than this book suggests. But, the development of the strong sisterhoods and the erotic nature of her work are both here. I was less impressed with characterization and character development in Pack Enforcer than in her later books (The Hurley Boys series comes to mind).

I found the plot a bit simple and the issues facing the characters a bit hoky. There was too much fantasy and not enough realism for an urban fantasy/pnr type setting. When the police and arson investigator are involved there is a bit more that needs to happen than they show up whenever they feel like it to talk to law enforcement.

That said, I'm glad to be reading this series and I am hoping that they continue to be re-released. I'm sure I will get to see more of the evolution of Dane's style. That is a journey worth taking.

I requested this book because I love Lauren Dane's other books and have rarely been disappointed by her. I couldn't get into these and DNF these 2 books though.

The most annoying heroine i have ever had the misfortune of encountering in a book.

This is a good first book in a new paranormal series ( Cascadia wolves). Lex is the pack enforcer and is looking for Nina's brother Gabriel. She is the first human to stand up to him and tell him to get lost. As rogue wolves threaten Nina and murder her brother Lex saves her and makes her part of the pack. Got auxiliary characters for future stories.
