Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

A cute read! Watching Emma deal with her private life as an author and her chemistry with the guest at her inn, all while dodging cameras and a very conservative mother was fun. There were certain scenes I would have liked to see in place of others, but a fun time all around.

Nobody would have thought, shy Emma Duffy wrote erotic romance, about her hot and steamy one night stand. A secret one night stand that nobody knows about, and nobody would ever think Emma had it in her to do.
By day she works for her mother's bed and breakfast and her mother informs her that she has booked a professional snowboarded and a film crew to show his comeback. Emma soon realizes it is Wyatt Lawson. Her secret one night stand! And to make matters worse, the man doesn't even know who Emma is and that they shared a night together. Soon after, Wyatt's film crew finds out that Emma has a debut novel coming out and it is under a pen name. And lo and behold it is about a night that Wyatt starts to remember about.
Can they come past this?

Sweet, fast-paced romance featuring the charming, creative Emma and snowboarder Wyatt in a second-chance-at-romance story. Secrets are revealed, testing loyalty, family bonds, and the ability of people to be who they really are, for themselves as well as with one another.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This can be read as a stand alone book although it is part of a series and i did not feel as if anything was lost with the other characters by not having read their stories.

This book was ok, but i really struggled that at age 31 Emma was such a wet blanket with her mother and had not reached out to be more of her own person before now. The fact that she was still living with her mother at the end of the book and using her royalties to fix up the inn also sat as daft, especially as she could have used that money to get her own place and be her own person. Just daft!!

Emma's mum was also someone i did not like, i mean what adult chastises their 31 year old daughter for kissing someone. I mean really!

Wyatt was ok but again i had issues with his character, but i did live his brother Ryder who seemed to have more character and lovability than his bland brother.

I will not be reading any further book in this series.

I tried to read Unexpectedly Hers but was unable to get into the story. I have moved on to another of Jamie's books and will be reviewing that in the future.

This was a great read! It is the 3rd book in the Sterling Canyon Series but can be read as a stand alone.

I loved the story between Cassie & Wyatt- there was a fun twist on finding HEA

I will be reading more by Jamie Beck

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I absolutely loved this book. Don't start it unless you have time to sit and read because you won't be able to put it down. Emma and Wyatt are so cute togather even if Wyatt does not remember their previous encounter. The support characters were all enjoyable except for the producer I didn't like her. I really hope there is another book that has Wyatts brother as the main character. If there is one for the producer I hope she gets burned like she did Emma.

You will want to read this book it is well worth the time.

Althought the narration is good, the sentences are well built and the vocabulary is easy-to-understand and not very heavy, I gave it 2 stars because of the story.
At the very beginging, I enjoyed the idea "they-had-sex-but-he-doesn't-remember-and-she-wrote-a-book-but-doesn't-want-anyone-to-know-about-it" However, it all changed soon. The story felt slow at the begining and I only felt it took an interesting turn and the story change for the better after the engagement *wink wink*. Althought, the sex scenes I'd rate them a 2 out of 10 because they weren't very detailed, everything happened so fast. The characters have, in my opinion, too much "thinking", that's it, too much pondering, reflexing, and too little dialogue in the most interesting scenes. There's also too much "sports" scenes, altought I get they're neccessary for his point of view but they're not very appealing in a romantic book.
The character of Emma seemed, to me, like a weak and insecure woman. It's not very "normal" to be worrying about things that you should be wanting at your 20's like independence (having her own place), when she's 31 years old. It'd have made her look more real if she'd have feel worse, or more corncerned, about marriage and kids when she had that conversation with Andy almost at the beginging of the book. The relationship she had with her mother is out of this world. I think that she brainwashed into thinking that all men will eventually leave like her father did "Sex is sin and you should be ashamed of even thinking about it" could easily summarize her mother's twisted and evil character. She should have gone through that rebellious phase earlier. She seems like a late bloomer. She's always talking about making her mom proud, and it made me go nuts. She's 31! I get that she wants to hide her real name with a pen name because she lives in a small town or even because it could affect her future or other possible jobs she might have. but not because of her mother! Her mom's reaction when she tells her the truth about the book was what I thought it'd happen but still Emma didn't react like a grown-up bussinesswoman published-author woman would have reacted.
Also, I didn't understand (and I still don't) why did Emma invite Wyatt's mom for Thanksgiving? His mother seemed like a bitch, blaming her own son, who pays for her bills, for her other son's accident.
It was kinda weird when the first day (when the avalanche happened), during the morning, she argued with Wyatt and Ryder with so much familiarity, althought it's suppossed that she only knew them for less than 24 hours.
The character of Wyatt seemed more down-to-earth and real than Emma's. Even tho I didn't like that he narrated some sex scenes (sorry, but it's my preference), it made him feel human and kind and a really good person that he worried so much about his brother. However, he drove me nuts when he didn't recognise Emma (or better said, Alexa) but could remember when they had sex, her name, that she left after without saying goodbye and that he was drinking before. Her talking, her moves and they having sex, and he still didn't figure it out!!
Some other characters, like her friends, were a little confusing. Since I hadn't read the previous books I couldn't tell who was Avery and who was Kelsey. And Mari's character only seems to "appear" when she drops out the "book" bomb.
In conclussion, even althought the story has potential, I didn't quite enjoyed the main character of Emma. She didn't seem like she deserved to be main character in anything.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Sterling Canyon series. Love the characters. Love the story. Definitely recommend.

I read this book before I purchased the other two in the series. I was surprised with how explicit it was from the get-go. But the rest of the book was fine. Emma was pretty well developed and I really loved Wyatt's character, as well as his interaction with his brother. I didn't love that there was so much focus on how "good" Emma is, and I really wasn't into the relationship she had with her mother. Overall, though, I really enjoyed the book (and enough to go back and purchase the first two books.) You don't need to read the series in order, but it could help if you want to know more about the other characters.

Another wonderful story in the Sterling Canyon series, with all the laughs and feelings from before. So cute and a great story to read on a cold and rainy day.

Wyatt is a snowboarder who decides to have his training for his big comeback recorded for a reality show. He is trying to solve many problems in his life with this show included helping his brother.

Emma is left in charge on the Bed and breakfast when her mom is away. She never expects to have Wyatt come in. She wants him to remember her and at the same time she wants him to not know who she is. She is harboring so many secrets and she isn't sure how much longer she can take it.

When the mutual attraction is too much for them to fight things get interesting. Top it off with a camera rolling all day when Emma is on a phone call and her huge secret gets out. It becomes quite entertaining watching everything fall apart and come together at the same time.
This book was great. It was a fast read as well.

Another wonderful story in the Sterling Canyon series, full of passion, conflict, guilty feelings & personal growth. Emma & Wyatt have a history he doesn't remember & she can't forget, one night spent together 3yrs ago. That night allowed Emma to let her hidden self shine without the small town repercussions & put her feelings to print in an erotic novel. Wyatt is drawn to Emma but doesn't understand why she's so cold & rigid with him but sympathetic to his brother. Barriers are broken down but a secret is still kept until its untimely release destroys all that has been created. Definitely recommend this book and the series.

Fantastic!! I loved this book from beginning to end. This was a unique story with a sweet, heart-warming romance. I love this authors writing and can't wait to read more!

Emma helps run her family's bed and breakfast business, but her first love is writing erotic romance novels. Unfortunately for Emma no one knows about her passion, but that is about to change when the subject for her latest novel and former one night stand Wyatt shows up at the bed and breakfast.

This was a great read. I have read other books by Jamie Beck and this one did not disappoint. I loved that Emma was able to hide who she at first because when she and Wyatt first met she pretended to be someone else. That led to Emma and Wyatt developing a more meaningful connection.

Unexpectedly Hers (Sterling Canyon #3)
Jamie Beck
Book Review: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Emma shared a night of passion years ago, with a man story books are made out of. In fact, she is about to publish that very book under a pen name. In her everyday life, Emma helps run the family's bed n breakfast. She is nothing like the character in her book. She is considered a wallflower.
Her mum has planned a trip away leaving Emma in charge of the B & B. The man of her dreams ends up being her guest, but he comes with his own baggage. A film crew are doing a story about his career come back. He is a professional skier, but things have changed. He's now the player she once knew.

4 stars out of 5. This book felt a little different to the other books by this author, however, is worth the read.

This is a second chance romance for Emma and Wyatt but it wasn't one I particularly liked. It's an ok read but frankly I found Emma pretty immature and Wyatt wasn't the best guy either. I wasn't committed to these two getting together, which disappointed me because Beck has a nice writing style and I liked the setting. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Try this one - it might have struck me wrong but that's just me.

A sweet romance in the Bachelor Bake-off series. Who ever thought a cat, Romeo would be a matchmaker. Loved it. This is story of taking risks and not always looking back but moving forward. Avery, a rodeo cowboy has returned home and recovering from injuries and has been lassoed into the baking competition. Avery needs help in the kitchen, so his friend Jillian has offered to help. Soon they are working together and baking is not the only thing heating up in the kitchen.

A great addition to this series, loved the main characters including Romeo. I highly recommend this story along with the rest of stories in this series.

I'd describe Unexpectedly Hers as more Women's Lit than Romance. Sure, there is plenty of good steamy romance packed inside the book, but that discounts the amount of story and self discovery in the book as well, for both Emma and Wyatt. This story really works in so many ways I can't help but recommend the read for anyone who is looking for a meaty story, a little romance, and little adventure along the way.

This romance revolved around two people, so caught up in trying to take care of others that they forgot to nurture their own happiness. It’s not a light fun romance, but rather Emma and Wyatt’s journey to find themselves and break free of their self-perceived obligations. It’s well written and keeps you reading and wondering until the end. I liked it.
