If you love to crochet amigurumi designs, this book is definitely for you. Each small pattern marries up with a cute tale from Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Even if you are a beginner crocheter, I think you could tackle these mini character designs. There are two different Alice patterns, a big one and a small one which go along with the “eat me” and “drink me” sections of the book.

I personally would only try and tackle big Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Red Queen and the White Rabbit. Although, I love the idea of a crocheted Cheshire Cat, this design didn’t particularly appeal to me.

Besides characters there are all types of accessories to create to make your own Mad Hatter Tea Party, if you so choose. Such a fun book filled with designs that will keep you busy for quite awihle.

If you love a good crochet book that you can keep in your craft reference section, this book is perfect for your collection! Try it out and see for yourself.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

Pat Olski's Crochet Stories: Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland provides patterns for all of the characters from the book. The patterns are clear and easy to follow even for a beginner. The photos of each character are very helpful as well. I think a set of the crocheted characters and a copy of Alice in Wonderland would make a great gift. This is an excellent book for anyone just starting to crochet dolls.

I didn't like these little characters because I grew up with the Tenniel illustrations. This is probably an unfair criticism since I don't see how you can copy them in an easy way. These toys seem like they would be easy to make, and they look like the characters they represent (unless you're me). I can see these scattered around the library when you are reading "Alice in Wonderland" to the kids.

This book is adorable and easier enough for most beginner crocheters to follow.

I'm not sure if it was for me as it feels almost too basic. There are more advanced / cuter Alice patterns out there. But if you want quick, easy, and clearly identifiable as Alice characters then these are perfect. Would probably be a really good way to add decorations for an Alice themed party. If you crocheted up a set they'd be a nice gift for Alice lovers.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Thanks to Dover Publications and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review Crochet Stories: Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland by Pat Olski. This book is a feast for crocheters and readers combined. The crocheted characters are introduced through excerpts from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and right after the story sections, comes the crochet projects' details. The key of crochet abbreviations is at the beginning of the book and each pattern uses these abbreviations. The detailed instructions give information on finished measurements, materials needed and the gauge of stitches per row and number of rows when complete. The colored photos of the finished products are too cute to not crochet! My favorite photo is of Alice, the dormouse, the Mad Hatter and the tea set - all crocheted pieces. The Queen and King are comically cute. The skill levels for crocheters are easy and intermediate. There are even patterns for a croquet card arch and a flamingo mallet. Adorable and fun! 5 stars!

I have friends who are going to squeal when I get them this book! Huge fans of both textiles and Alice! Awesome projects! Some lucky child may find themselves with a complete collection of Alice in Wonderland stuffies! Great book! Great photos!

This is a cute book on Alice in Wonderland patterns and story. The story I could have done without as it seemed to be just filler. The patterns are really cute though. I like the fact that there is a big normal sized Alice and a smaller one from after she drinks the potion. There are lots of accessories to make along with the characters in the story. The patterns look very straightforward and fairly easy to do, an advanced beginner should be able to make these patterns.

This book has a wonderful cast of characters to crochet, from Alice (and a mini Alice) to the White Rabbit and even a pink flamingo mallet! The book is laid out with snippets of the story and clear instructions for each character and full colour photos of the finished projects. Hours of crochet fun lie ahead.

As a child I think everyone gets introduced to Alice in Wonderland and the amazing story has every young child enchanted!

This book was kindly sent to me to review and I loved the way the book reads. Not just straight forward into pattern after pattern of each character, between each one pretty much is an excerpt of a scene from Alice in Wonderland. Enabling a family friendly like feel to the book as a whole.

The patterns are intricate and finely detailed. Characters are portrayed as alike as I personally feel possible to the ones drawn in the picture books and all are sure to have children engrossed in the classic tale that will share the magic of storytelling from generation to generation.

For "Alice in Wonderland" fans who like to crochet, this book was made for you. An abridgde version of the classic tale is included, interspersed between photographs of the book's characters in crocheted form. Each set of instructions includes a picture of the finished product and a list of materials needed. Instructions are graded as far as complexity. We liked the Dodo Bird and set of teacups the best. The Cheshire Cat looked a little anemic (sorry, but he did), especially in the legs. Nevertheless, four stars. Fun projects for a rainy afternoon.

I know every time I read one of these crochet books I say that I am going to learn to crochet, but I truly thing this year is going to be my year. The latest book I read was all about the characters from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. In addition to the instructions on how to make the characters (which are ranked with skill levels like easy or intermediate so you know where to begin based on your skill level) there is also some excerpts of the book included as well. There are some really cute characters like the door mouse and the hedgehogs as well as your favorites like Alice, Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter. You can also make accessories for your tea party as well! All characters come with crochet instructions and how many to make as well as photos of the finished products.

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.
