In An Inconvenient Lie, Louise Goueffic explores the misogyny and oppression of women inherent in language.. While linguistics plays an important role and deserves a closer look, Goueffic tends toward overly repetitive arguments, causing the book to read more like propaganda. In the decade since the book was written, it seems to have been swept under the rug, languishing and in dire need of a rewrite.
