Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury series is one that has been consistent and highly enjoyable. With every character she finds a way to bring a new dimension to the series. Although the bad boy of hockey, Roman falls into category of one of her sweeter heroes.
On a whole Roman felt a less angsty read than I would have liked judging by my rating, but I can't deny it was still a delightful read.

This series gets me every time. This is the seventh book and I feel like the series is still nailing it because -- Roman. *sigh* God. I loved Roman.
I also love that each book in this series gets it's own little twist. Roman is told in three different points of view, and it contains two separate love stories and -- it worked for me. I didn't feel like it was confusing or alienating at all. In fact, I thought it was kind of adorable, incredibly sweet, and it added an extra layer to this story that I just completely ate up.
I adored - adored Lexi. She's definitely a new favorite Sawyer Bennett heroine. She's strong and smart and quirky and completely free spirited - but her heart is genuine and warm and wide open. She's just...perfect. I want to make her my best friend and force her to give me private ukelele concerts. That's how much I adored her.
I also loved Roman -- the reformed bad boy hero is a favorite of mine and Roman was perfect. I loved that when he committed, he went all in. And I adored how sometimes he was a little out of his depth with Lexi. She completely bowled him over, and that was incredibly fun to read about. I also enjoyed his interactions with Ryker and Alex. They were completely adorable and as a loyal fan of this series, it touched a special place in my heart.
In all - I'd say this was one of Ms. Bennett's more heartwarming stories. It's a quick, easy read - perfectly swoony and flirty with just enough emotion to keep me invested. I loved it. I feel like I could read about these Cold Fury boys forever!

This is a cute, sexy fun read. The series is great and I always look forward to the next. In this book we get a quirky fun free spirited ukulele playing barista and the hockey bad boy enforcer. On the outside they do not mesh. But underneath, they are are a match made in heaven. Roman is a softy under that tough exterior. He is a loner with few commitments. It seems no one can resist Lexi's pull. He is so sweet with her. She is just cute. She does not try to impress or be more than what she is. She is just a happy roll with type of person.
Lexi moved to NC to meet the Brannons. She recently found out that Brian is her father. Her mother gave her the information shortly before she passed away. Lexi is looking for a family connection. The instant acceptance by Brian was so sweet. Gray's hesitation was realistic so I kind of liked that it wasn't all smooth sailing. There was tension between Gray and Roman that made things awkward for Lexi.
The side story with Brian and Georgia is cute and adds a little humor too. Different spin with multiple points of view from all characters. which actually worked for this story.

I am a fan of the Cold Fury books (Alex, Zach, Ryker, and now Roman being my favorites). This book was different as it give the POV of not only Roman and Lexi, but also Brian Brannon who joins his daughters in getting his own HEA. I loved the sweet goofiness of Lexi and adored Roman and his tough but caring personality. I adore how family played into the story and the character growth that Roman and Gray went through. The way Roman declared his love just might be the sweetest ever.

Roman’s dedication to his sport has left him with an emotional void and his sex scandals and other bad boy activities have given him a reputation with the GM of the team. On the day he’s meeting with the GM to be told he needs to clean up his act, he runs into Lexi who is there to meet her father and half sister who have no idea she exists. Talk about family drama!
Lexi’s father is more accepting of Lexi’s claims, but her half-sister questions her motives. When there’s some mega-attraction between Roman and Lexi, her half sister isn’t too thrilled about them dating because of his reputation. So Lexi is faced with the dilemma of going for the guy she is attracted to, or risking her new relationship with her newly found half-sister.
This is definitely an opposites attract (and very sexy) sort of story. Lexi is very independent and makes Roman work for it, which was a nice touch. I liked how he handled these new feelings toward Lexi, even though they scare him.
The story is told in dual POV from Roman and Lexi and with a surprise POV from Lexi’s father which adds a nice treat to the book with a more seasoned romance between Brian and Lexi’s boss Georgia. The scenes between these two were equally interesting.
Roman works very well as a standalone, as this was my first book read in this series and I didn’t have any trouble following along. If you are a fan of sports romance, you will want to check this out. I really like Sawyer Bennett’s writing voice and it comes across very well in Roman.

I am a huge Sawyer Bennett fan and absolutely love the Cold Fury series, all of the men on the Carolina's Cold Fury Hockey Team have wormed their way into my heart, and Roman was no different.
Roman is a bad boy through and through and Gray is sick of it, so she gives him an ultimatum shape up or ship out, not something he wants to hear especially since they hired him knowing his reputation. I have to mention that Roman is not as bad as Gray would like you to think, there is a LOT of good in him and in my opinion it far outweighs the bad.
Lexi is a quirky, fun loving, free spirit, that knows what she wants and goes for it. She plays the ukulele and sings like an angel at the coffee shop where she is a barista. Lexi's mother passed away ten months ago and before she died she told Lexi about the father she never knew, now she is about to meet her father and half-sister for the first time.
This story had a different feel to it than others in the series, I would have to say the biggest difference was that this story was told in multiple points of view, you have Lexi and Roman's which are the majority of the book but then you also have Brian Brannon's, who is Lexi's father and Roman's boss, POV as well. It was great seeing his reaction to not only finding out he had another daughter that he knew nothing about but also watching him find love of his own.

4 Family CROWNS
Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury Hockey series has a special place in my heart. These boys were my first introduction to the fantastic writing of Ms. Bennett, and I have devoured everything since. Each one is filled with a sexy and often broody hockey player, a fiercely independent and intelligent heroine, and story that is either heartwarming or riddled with suspense. Either way, each book in this series is entirely entertaining, and Roman is not any different.
As I said, the sexy, broody hero is a must on for the Cold Fury Hockey team, and Roman fits the bill. As the enforcer and the bad boy on the team, he has little regard for rules and authority, and his lack of familial interactions leads him to live a fairly isolated life, making him uncomfortable with certain family dynamics and obligations. Underneath this layer, though, is a completely sweet and romantic man. Watching him with Lexi, showcases everything that is good about him that he likes to hide under his tough exterior.
Lexi is one of the most logical and sensible heroines I can recall. She deals with her feelings in a logical and rational way, never overreacting and always listening before making judgments, which comes from a place of love. Her desire for family, for a place to belong drives most of her choices in the book, and makes her a very likable heroine.
The story-line for Roman is entertaining and enjoyable to read. Readers get to see the bad boy get tamed and fall in love. They get to see the heroine they love find her place with a new family. Plus, there is the added secondary plot line that I really enjoyed with two of the secondary characters. And while the romance of Roman and Lexi is more than enough to entice the reader to read the book, the overarching ideas of the importance of family and being accepted resonate with me more than anything.
Roman is another solid addition to the Cold Fury Hockey series. It is fun, entertaining, steamy, and filled with not only romance that will melt your heart but also the added message of the importance of family. It delivers on everything that I have come to expect from Ms. Bennett's writing, and for that it is another must read.

Sometimes it's nice to read a feel good story and that is Roman's installment of the Cold Fury series.
When we first meet Roman, he comes across as an unrepentant bad boy/player. It was fun to get to know him, see what made him tick, and see how much he was willing to change for Lexi.
Lexi is such a fun heroine! She's dealing with a potentially rough personal situation and handles it with complete grace.
This well written and fun book is mainly Lexi and Roman's story, but key characters from previous books play a big part here as well giving readers a chance to get caught up with them. If you are a fan of the Cold Fury series, you will definitely enjoy getting to meet Roman and Lexi. Don't worry if you are just finding these books, you can pick up here and dive right in.

This is Book #7 of the Cold Fury Series and can be read as standalone!!
No doubt Roman Sykora's reputation as the rebel, troublemaker bad boy of the Cold Fury Hockey Team is well known everywhere. However, he's about the meet his match and possibly find love along the way!! Would he also be able to change his bad boy behavior?
Lexi Robertson has move to Raleigh, North Carolina following her mother's death and finding out the identity of her father. She's not after money or fortune as her half-sister Gray is assuming, all she wants is answers to a shocking revelations about Brian Brannon, the owner of the Cold Fury Ice Hockey team being her father.
In this book we get to know more about Brian Brannon and his daughter Gray. In addition there is an unexpected second romance along the pages.
In all honesty, I really did enjoyed this book as much as I did the previous six. The character development and story-line are excellent. The only thing I would have liked since we were gifted with not one but two romances, that the story will have been a little longer, but hey it was great nonetheless!
I highly recommend the entire series!!
ARC Kindly provided in exchange for an honest review, however as always I did purchased my own copy!!

This was one of the most enjoyable Cold Fury instalments yet. I loved some of the early books most until now, until ROMAN. This was a book with parallel stories and family was central to the feel of this read.
ROMAN has one of my favourite heroines in the whole series. Lexi is really out of the box in terms of the women that have come before in Cold Fury. She was quirky and strong with a soft, loving centre. Lexi was the kind of woman who is willing to put herself out there and risk her heart for the promise of reward. It was impossible not to like her, her spark, sense of style and simplicity of life. Roman himself was not a natural pairing for Lexi at first glance but Lexi brought him to a standstill and caused re-evaluation of his lifestyle and isolation. I wasn't sure I liked Roman until I saw how he was with Lexi; these two were total, serious steam with a side of slow burn. Their connection felt fresh within the series and the chemistry was convincing and enjoyable.
One of the key parts of this book is the family story. I loved everything about this storyline and the weaving of previous characters within this. The richness of this particular part of the story was wonderful and I felt sucked in.
Sawyer Bennett can write me a Cold Fury man of Roman's ilk anytime and I'll be ready to read it. This remains a series I'll keep coming back for more of.

4.5 stars--ROMAN is the seventh installment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult COLD FURY HOCKEY romance series focusing on the members of the professional hockey team the Carolina Fury. This is team enforcer/bad boy Roman Sykora, and barista/musician Lexi Robertson’s story line. ROMAN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story line is revealed where necessary.
There is a secondary romance developing between Lexi’s father, Carolina Fury team owner Brian Brannon, and Lexi’s boss Georgia Mack
Told from three first person points of view (Roman, Lexi, Brian) ROMAN focuses on the troubled career of hockey enforcer Roman Sykora. Growing up in the Czech Republic, the son of absentee parents, Roman Sykora put all of his efforts into the game of hockey finally making something of himself in the NHL. As one of the league’s toughest enforcers Roman finds himself on the receiving end of too many suspensions, fines and negative press, and it doesn’t help that many of his less than stellar off ice activities have landed him on the front page news resulting in more suspensions and team fines. Meeting Lexi Robertson, Carolina Fury’s owner ‘secret daughter’ finds Roman focusing more on his volatile relationship with the team’s manager Gray Brannon seeing that Gray is Lexi’s half-sister by blood. What ensues is the building relationship between Lexi and Roman; Roman’s ongoing battle with the team’s manager; and team owner Brian Brannon’s new found love in the guise of Lexi’s boss and friend Georgia Mack.
Lexi grew up never knowing her father-a man she believed abandoned her mother without a second glance. Upon her death bed Lexi’s mother revealed the identity of the man she would come to call father-a man who would find himself falling in love with a girl he knew nothing about, and a woman that would call to his heart. Lexi’s relationship with Roman is threatened on numerous occasions by a well-meaning sister whose experiences with our story line hero are less than positive-experiences that have colored Gray’s opinion of the man that Lexi loves. The $ex scenes are seductive and provocative without the use of over the top sexually graphic language and text.
There are a large number of secondary and supporting characters including several members of the Carolina Fury hockey team, as well as team owner Brian Brannon, team manager Gray and her husband, former Fury goalie Ryker Evans, and Lexi’s boss/mother like figure Georgia Mack.
The world building divides its focus on two relationships: Lexi and Roman, Brian and Georgia, as well as Roman’s struggle to amend his bad boy reputation-with or without the support of team manager Gray Brannon-Evans. Gray will interfere on more than one occasion leaving a heartbroken Lexi to mourn the loss of several relationships that were starting to bloom.
ROMAN is a story of destined mates; of one woman’s search for a family she new had, and one man’s battle with the family he never wanted. The premise is heartwarming and energetic; the characters are spirited and passionate; the romance is captivating and spicy. Sawyer Bennett will arouse your senses with her breathtaking COLD FURY series focusing on the men and women of the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team.

OMG!!!! I loved this novel! Lexi is a carefree, fun-loving, ukulele-playing, young woman who wants nothing more than to get to know her family. Her mom, who passed away of cancer 10mths ago, informed Lexi that her dad was Brian Brannon--CEO of Cold Fury. Lexi's mom had kept this secret from her and her father. So Lexi studies the team, her dad, and Gray so she'll be familiar with them when she meets them. Lexi sets up a meeting with Brian to let him know and to offer a DNA test. Gray, having been an only child and the sole object of her dad's affection is less than welcoming. She's not willing to include Lexi into the family until the results are back. However, she is willing to get to know her possible sister.
Along the way, Lexi catches the eye of Cold Fury's "bad boy". Roman wants Lexi, but senses she's "different" so he's willing to take things at her pace. Roman also doesn't get along with Gray. Gray's the GM of Cold Fury and Roman's latest bad boy ways have him in the doghouse with Gray. She uses her position and her "new" relationship with her sister to draw a wedge between Lexi and Roman. While trying to please everyone, Lexi comes to the realization that she's not happy without Roman, so she tells Gray she's going to date him anyway because she has to follow her heart.
During Lexi's birthday celebration, Roman and Gray get into an argument where Gray threatens to trade him. Lexi overhears them tearing each other apart, so she leaves her party. She tells her dad to let Roman and Gray know they are not to contact her until they work it out....Later that night, Lexi is hit by a drunk driver. Gray calls Roman to let him know about the wreck. When he arrives at the hospital, he's afraid he may never be able to make it right. Can he and Gray set aside their differences to make Lexi happy?
I loved how quirky and funny Lexi was. I liked how Roman saw Lexi for who she really was. I loved that Roman didn't try to take over Lexi's life, pay for things, etc. I truly appreciated Georgia and Lexi's mother-daughter relationship, even though they weren't related by blood. Then Georgia and Brian's relationship.....too funny! This novel ends with a HEA and no cliffhanger! I read a gifted copy of this novel and all opinions stated are my own.

Sawyer Bennett
Yet another great addition to the Cold Fury Series!!
Roman hurled though my heart, like a blaze of glory!
Brining my emotions to the edge and back. Which a intensity and drama that had me on edge. But I was swept up in Lexia and Roman! Their journey of loss, love and heartache. Was worth it all!

We're back with the hotties from the Carolina Hockey team!
This time we have team bad boy & troublemaker Roman!
The czech defense man is constantly forced to miss games due to violence on and off the field! He's always late to everything. Team manager Gray is just now giving him his last warning - clean up his troublemaking ways or he might be sitting on the bench for the rest of his life!
And right there in the Cold Fury's office is where he meets Lexi.
And he's instantly charmed!
Lexi is there to see Brian (Gray's dad and the boss of the team!)
Ten months ago, shortly before Lexi's mom died, she told her only daughter who her father was.
Yup, you guessed it, Brian the hockey boss!
And since Lexi hates being all alone in the world, she moved to Raleigh and has been building up the courage to visit her dad for the last months.
And now here she is.... about to become part of the Cold Fury family....
But can the boss's new daughter date the team's troublemaker without getting in trouble herself???
And can a handsome 61 year-old hockey team boss, who's very set in his ways, date a quirky coffee shop owner in her late 40s?☺
WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO LEXi & ROMAN & LEXi & HER NEW FAMiLY????
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER FOR ALL OF THEM?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺☺☺

Finally a new book in this adorable Hockey series.
ROMAN!
He's so adorable. And he's so anti-hero-ish!
Such a trouble magnet! Too adorable!
But of course he wants to be better - he doesn't want to be fired from the team!
But falling for the boss's new daughter might also get him in some other kind of troubles!
I just loved it!
I also loved the other little love story in the book - Brian - Lexi's new dad - is kind of interested in Lexi's very colorful boss at the coffee shop - Georgia! Cute!!!
I really enjoyed this book!!
I also loved that we got to see lots of Gray & Ryker!
I cried a lot - it's all so moving, with Lexi finally having a family again and ugh... really adoarable!
And poor and lonely Roman. He never really had a family and he doesn't know what to do with all those new people in his life!
I had some problems with the writing...as with every Sawyer book. It's Sawyer's and my THING ☺ It's only me who has those problems with her writing. So please don't be worried or just scroll down and don't read the following...
I have a HUGE AS problem! And it was extreme in this book!!!☺ You know the AS's I'm talking about? The AS that could be exchanged for a SINCE or BECAUSE ☺ It's a British thing (if it's a thing at all!) and it doesn't have anything to do in an American book by an American author. I would be ok with it if one character would use it, but everyone uses it! I really don't want to insult Sawyer. I love her books, but maybe she should just think about why she's doing it and then please stop doing it. But pfff who am I to tell her what to do, so just forget I said anything! It doesn't stop her books from being great!
ROMAN was another super-adorable, sexy, funny and moving addition to this great series! Run to your nearest amazon to fall in love/lust with this Bad-Boy-Hockey-Hottie!!!!!

Sawyer Bennett did it again and scored a huge goal with this book. Not only do we get. Roman and Lexi's story but we also get a long awaited story of Brian Brannon and Georgia's story all wrapped in to one amazing story! This hits all the feelers! I laughed, swooned and cried at time. I wanted to reach into the book and strangle a few of them from time to time as well. I love how Sawyer sucks you in and you hope and pray that she does not let you go. She never does even tho the book has ended the characters have found a place in your heart and stay forever! Thank you for another amazing and great read! A must one click!

I liked this book, I felt it was a little different from the other Cold Fury books. Roman definitely beats to his own drum, I liked him a lot. Lexi, I am not sure about her and her connection to the story. Roman is a bad boy who has never really fit in, she is a free spirit who is looking for her family who never knew she existed...... and this part of the book was hard for me. I felt the chemistry between Roman and Lexi, but I did not enjoy the story line and interactions between her sister and her.... I felt like it was not developed enough and there were feelings and things done to divide their relationship and her relationship with Roman. I liked reading about Lexi and Roman, but was not fan of the interactions between Lexi and her new found sister. Lexi is strong in who she is with Roman, but waivers with who she is with her farther a bit, but does not feel she can be her with her sister. I liked the book, it was a good read, but did not love it as much as I loved the others.

I’ve come to one conclusion: Sawyer Bennett is not human. It seems like she adds to her impressive arsenal of work every couple months with books ranging from romantic suspense and erotica to lighthearted contemporary romance. How is that even possible? How, I ask you?! I don’t know, but as long as she keeps cooking up these sweet sports romances with a hint of spice, I’ll keep gobbling them up like candy. Roman was a tasty treat for me.
Roman is the bad boy of the Cold Fury professional hockey team. His scandalous antics off the ice and his penchant for racking up suspensions due to losing his cool on the ice have put his position with the team in jeopardy. The General Manger, Gray, is not exactly his number one fan at the moment.
Roman meets Lexi and immediately takes a liking to the unconventional barista. Things get complicated when he discovers Lexi is possibly the long-lost daughter that the Fury’s owner, Brian, never knew existed. That would also make her Gray’s half sister. This puts Lexi between a rock and a hard place if she wants to pursue a relationship with her new family as well as Roman.
Lexi is lovely, talented, easy going, and totally quirky but completely comfortable in her own skin. It’s easy to see why everyone is drawn to her. Lexi’s personality and her relationship with her potential father is a major highlight of the story. Her flamboyant surrogate mom, Georgia, is also delightful, and I loved how she’s integrated into the story.
I was totally on board with most of the book, but I did feel like some things are too easy. There’s some great tension between Gray and Lexi, but for the most part, the conflicts are rather easy to resolve, especially with Lexi being so agreeable. Roman effortlessly changes his lifestyle almost overnight except for a couple hiccups, and towards the end of the book it seems like the author is trying to dredge up drama when there just isn’t much there.
The story is told from the perspective of three characters: Lexi, Roman, and Brian. It’s an unusual choice, and one that I really enjoyed. Roman is a nice addition to the series and a satisfying story that’s a winner for this sports romance junkie.

You gotta love these Cold Fury guys!!
Each book stands alone, but they do have interconnections throughout. This one features Roman who is a "balls to the wall" type of guy - both on the ice and off and Lexi who is a free-spirit who enjoys playing the ukulele at the local coffeehouse.
Lexi meets Roman by chance and fate when she finally takes the final step to introduce herself to her father, Brian Brannon who just happens to be the owner of Roman's hockey team, Carolina Cold Fury. Oh - and the GM just happens to be Lexi's half sister and not a big fan of Roman's antics.
While Roman may have a reputation (which is well deserved) of being a bad boy and a player - he is one of the sweetest men of the series, in my opinion. His and Lexi's chemistry is sizzling and Lexi definitely brings out a side to Roman that no other woman has seen.
Add to this that we get to see Brian have his own HEA - that was another favorite part to have his story interlaced with his new daughter's and to enjoy the bantering with Gray and Ryker. It was a true treat all the way around.
And the ending - OMG - you have to have fallen in love with Roman by then. There are certainly bumps along the way - it's hard to try and fit in with your new family, especially when one of them is at odds with your new boyfriend. It's a tricky road to navigate, but Lexi does just fine. I found her character refreshing and Roman was definitely not what I expected. He was sweet, charming and adorable!!
This is a fantastic series and I can't wait for Book #8!

4.5 stars
The Cold Fury books have always been a family feel as a organization and team. Roman has a different approach to that theme and it works well. I've always enjoyed them immensely. To see the other side of the Brannon's after the bombshell they got was interesting. Brian was more accepting than other would be and react not as well. You can tell he may be a tough owner but he is a good guy and dad. Gray is pretty similar and a skeptic at times a strict GM when it comes to the team but one you respect.
Roman is bonafide troublemaker off and on the ice, his antics piling up earned him a reprimand from the Cold Fury higher ups who have had it. It's shape up or ship out. It's not gonna be easy for this badboy to follow the rules, that's for sure. It's usually the same antics that you see in many players that you feel it become tiresome and you get labeled with this goon reputation. I see it as something that takes away from you being a great player. I feel conflicted on that side of him while I like his play his heart out mentality and overall charm. He makes for an interesting hero. I totally pictured another real hockey player with the same name reading this though for some reason.
Lexi sees something Roman that's quite similar to her. The way she marches to her own beat and doesn't care. Her style of clothing is pretty funky, free-spirited and funny. A people person, warm and draws you in. Eclectic but cool, not the typical heroine. She's been lonely ever since her mom passed away. Meeting her father for the first time is intimidating also an adventure for her. Plus getting to know a certain hockey player as well. The intense chemistry is pretty obvious and their relationship transitioned smoothly from flirting to more.
Thing is their situation is complicated now. What with the friction with the management aka Gray her sister. That's tough to be in the middle of new found family and a guy you like. It's hard all around, Roman can be defensive it may come off disrespectful, he thinks his plsying style is his own. Gray has to do her job but also still be family. I honestly see something different with Roman around Lexi, it would be a waste of potential. Cause he can really be good guy. Sometimes it takes moment of clarity to realize the important things overlook the pettiness. Lexi was a good influence on everyone I would say.
While comparing books isn't but the last book I read had a similar issues with the troubled player and conflict of interest but felt totally different in ways. I like how the characters are introduced and featured. I appreciated the reality of their situation. Dating an athlete is not easy, having the usual woes of family not liking the guy or what not. As a sports fan, Roman is a typical d-man he gets lots of flak. Sawyer Bennett made it a appealing and entertaining installment of a hockey series I'm fond of. I hope there would still be more books in the series in the future.
