Another wonderful instalment in this hugely successful hockey series.
Ok, so I know nothing, nada, zilch, about hockey but still, I love this series, despite skimming over some of the terminology at times! All I know about hockey is that it involves ice, sticks (I think) and hunky men who like to play dirty on the ice, or so I’m led to believe.
Apart from one, slightly challenging, hurdle along the way, where I’m sure Ms Bennett tried to rile us on purpose, I have loved each and every one of the Cold Fury characters that we’ve met to date and, even at book 7, I still want more (thank goodness Lucas is waiting in the wings!!!).
Roman’s book was probably one of my favourites, if not my number 1 favourite, why because we get two romance stories for the price of one. Yes, you’ve got it, two romances. In this instalment, we get to experience just what, or who, gets under Gray’s skin and it’s none other than the enigmatic, but slightly infuriating, Roman Sýkora. A Czech player with anger management issues, Roman plays hard off the ice but even harder on it, much to Gray’s frustration. But when Roman meets his love match, he reveals a depth which Gray doesn’t see, at first.
As mentioned in the synopsis, this story brings about a turn of events for Brian Brannon as he finds out that he has another daughter that he was unaware of. Lexi Robertson is a ukulele playing barista who charms Roman from the first moment he casts his eyes on her. She is quirky, funny and fun-loving and just what he needs to stop his playboy ways.
News of a daughter and sister for the Brannon’s is fraught with tension, especially for Gray who is immediately suspicious of Lexi’s motives. Despite a DNA test being sought, Brian knows in his heart that Lexi is his daughter though and it’s only a matter of time before it is irrefutably proven.
The friction between Lexi and Gray isn’t the only problem that Brian has to contend with in this story as Gray and Roman continue to clash fiercely at the detriment of Lexi. Lexi is torn between her feelings for Roman and her love for her new sister and despite trying to remain neutral, her heart breaks with their constant feuding.
As mentioned above, there is another romance blossoming and it may just be sweeter than Roman and Lexi’s. Brian becomes enamoured with Lexi’s boss/mother figure, the wonderful and slightly bonkers, Georgia Mack. I loved this woman and the way she warmed Brian’s heart. I’d love a side story about their romance, despite Brian being a silver fox!
All in all, another fantastic story by Sawyer Bennett and another that I couldn’t put down. These stories are captivating without being overly challenging and enjoyable without unnecessary angst. Sawyer Bennett has an easy writing style which draws you in and leaves you with a warm and satisfied feeling.
This ebook was kindly provided by the author, publisher and Netgalley prior to release date in return for an honest and unbiased review.
Sawyer Bennett was an author that I fell in love with in 2016! Her Cold Fury series captured my heart and made me fall in love with her hockey boys. But I have to tell you, Roman may just be my favorite book in the series thus far! There was so much here that I am not even sure where to start!!!
One thing that I love about a series like Cold Fury is that you get to enjoy a single couple in a single book and yet the entire series works as one large story. So, although you can read each book as a standalone, I recommend that you read the entire Cold Fury series. This is specifically the case with Roman. You really need to read Ryker (Cold Fury Hockey #4). There are key thing that happen in Roman that you need to know the back story in order to understand things.
I love the first paragraph of Roman...
"Roman Sykora goes balls to the wall, 100 percent of the time. I do this whether I'm on the ice or f*cking a hot chick. I have two speeds.. fast and dead stopped, and the latter only happens when I'm sleeping.
It's how I've lived me live and I'm not going to stop now."
~ Sawyer Bennett, Roman (Cold Furry #7)
That is all you need to know about Roman Sykora!
Lexi Robertson comes into the Cold Fury world in a very unconventional way. I feel like that's the best way to describe it... Needless to say, she is not wanted and yet she's there. She is determined to get to know her father, president and CEO of the Carolina Cold Fury, Brian Brannon. Brian is eager to get to know his new daughter.
Bad boy, Roman Sykora meets Lexi Robinson and sparks fly! I loved them together. She turns this bad boy into a man. He was hooked!
Oh, and Brian has his own love story along the way. I loved that!! We get his POV and it was perfect! I can't imagine Roman without his POV. It just added a depth to Roman that was unexpected. Brian & Georgia were unexpectedly perfect!
"She looks amazing and I gave in to admitting that I'm wildly attracted to her. I'm still put off by her brash manner, but there is no denying I like what I see before me."
~ Sawyer Bennett, Roman (Cold Furry #7)
Out of all the books in the Cold Fury series, this book was my absolute favorite! Thank you Sawyer Bennett for bringing these characters into my life. I will treasure them forever.
Luca Fournier is up next! If He is Max Fournier's little brother. September 19th can't come soon enough!!! I am so in love with this series. I have no words...

Ok, this is a sweet romance between 2 couples.
New love, new relationships and new beginnings. Love at first sight and redemption. Setting priorities straight. You will need tissues. I teared up half of the way through, and didn't stop until the end.
I love the Cold Fury series! Roman and Lexi's story was very sweet but I wish it had been longer....it was too quick of a read! The bonus of Brian's HEA was great but did take away from Roman and Lexi's story. Loved seeing more of Ryker and Gray!
Welcome Back to the Hot Hockey Players of the Cold Fury Team! Bad Boy Roman is melting the pages as he melts the Ice. Roman and Lexi.... that is problem waiting to happen.... we all know what happens when a team player and the owner's daughter get together.
From the beginning, this was a easy read for me to get into and fall in love with these characters, Lexi and Roman were the perfect mix of sweet and passion. I love the mix of the different lifestyles as well, Lexi as the singer and coffee barista and Roman, the hard hitting hot defense-men for one of the best Hockey Teams in the nation. This book had me turning the pages waiting to see what would happen next.
5 Stars to this read from Sawyer, cannot wait to see what else will come from her.
Roman is book 7 in the Cold Fury series however I did not read any of the other books so this can most definitely be read as a standalone story. Roman is told from multiple points-of-view which, at first confused me a bit but as the story panned out, it made way more sense. While it is a love story for Roman and Lexi, we also get a second love story with the love story between Lexi's recently discovered father, Brian and her boss/close friend, Georgia (who was a total pistol and had me smiling each time she appeared in the story). Having Brian's POV throughout the story added depth to Lexi's story of finding her family after 26 years of not knowing who they were. The story was funny, emotional, sexy and so much more than I expected. It tugged at my heartstrings each time Lexi interacted with her newfound half-sister Grey who put up a protective wall that Lexi constantly had to try to knock down.
As for Roman and Lexi----I loved their fun, easy banter together. Roman is no-holds barred both in his career and in his private life. Lexi brought out his tender side which constantly had me smiling. Their chemistry was superb and the build up to their sexual relationship was perfect. While there was a lot going on in this story with the subplots, I felt that Bennett helped the reader navigate through the various pathways with ease and ultimately, she fit it all together in one beautifully packaged novel. After enjoying this story as my first in the Cold Fury series, I'll most definitely be going back to read the others, especially Grey and Ryker's story as I'm dying to know how they came to be a couple!
A must read for any lover of the Cold Fury series. I loved seeing Roman the bad boy of Cold Fury finally find love, with a free spirit who showed him the importance of family. I really enjoyed Lexi, her spunk and open heart nature. Another hot story in this series, which is a must read for me.
“all I can do is smile at him and say, “I know. I felt it too.”
This latest instalment into all that is the Cold Fury Hockey series was very different. Instead of focusing on one couple’s story, Roman had three very distinct, yet related stories all happening at the same time. Readers were treated to the story of how troublemaker Roman Sýkora had his "bad publicity" ways knocked out of him when he met Lexi Robertson. Both Roman and Lexi each had their own side stories, causing friction in what otherwise might have been a smooth sailing romance.
Lexi, after having lost her mother to cancer less than a year ago, was in town to meet and try to forge a relationship with her father, Brian Brannon and her sister, Gray. If you have read other books in this series, you may already know Gray, the general manager for the Cold Fury Hockey team.
I found myself quite anxious for Lexi upon her first meeting with her father. I have seen this kind of story get very nasty before and Lexi was in quite a vulnerable state. She was alone and really wanted to connect with someone that was family. Brian was amazing in how he dealt with the news and how he treated Lexi. Lexi’s initial interactions with Gray were very entertaining.
Despite Roman being a self-proclaimed bachelor and having admittedly little closeness with his own family, he changed his ways pretty easily once Lexi came into his life. I believe she was the missing piece for him.
“We were dating the minute I heard you on that stage playing your ukulele,” I tell her. “Even if neither of us fully realized it then.”
Aside from Roman feeling he wasn’t a “family” man, the main source of conflict between him and Lexi came in the form of Gray. She already had a negative personal opinion of Roman and didn’t approve of him for Lexi. I cringed any times throughout the book when, though I believe her heart was in the right place, she interfered and manipulated things between the couple.
There was also a pleasantly surprising little side story for Brian. Romance stories seem to often focus on the young so it was nice to see Brian get his own piece of a happy ending.
“We’re going to lunch,” she affirms. “I’m killing two birds with one stone. We need to talk about Lexi and I’m tired of waiting for you to ask me out. You move at the speed of molasses and I’m not getting any younger.”
This was a sweet and touching story.
Absolutely loved this book!!!! Sawyer Bennett outdoes herself with every one of these players' stories from the Cold Fury.
Roman and Lexi really nuzzled their way into my heart! I adored everything about Lexi including the fact that she plays the ukulele. Roman turned out to be exactly the man I knew he would be. I really can't say enough about the character development and the way this author allows us to watch them grow.
Just a fantastic read!!!
I love that even though this series has grown as large as it has, that we still get to see characters from the other books throughout each of these. It's like they say, Cold Fury is a family. And I like to get caught up with what the family has going on now too.
Roman is another bad boy, who needs to change his way. His attitude in the beginning was, you knew that about me before signing me on so deal with it. Then Lexi enters the picture, she doesn't ask him to change. I think that's one of her best attributes, she is willing to take him as he is. But loves him more because he chooses to change. Roman is just in awe of Lexi, even when she has trials going on in her life, she goes out of her way to make time for him. Not because he's famous or has money. But just because he's Roman.
ROMAN is the seventh book in the Cold Fury hockey series. Each book in the series is a standalone, although all the characters are interconnected. This is a charming story about Roman Sykora, the enforcer for the Cold Fury hockey team. He is the bad boy on the team and his antics keep getting him into trouble.
Lexi Robertson and Roman meet at the Cold Fury offices. Lexi is there to introduce herself to her newfound father. She is surprised when her dying mother tells her she is the daughter of Brian, owner of the Cold Fury. Brian is surprised and excited to discover Lexi is his daughter. He is wonderful and welcomes Lexi into his family but his only daughter Gray, has a difficult time accepting Lexi.
I enjoyed this sweet story and all the characters. Roman and Lexi make a great couple and bring out the best in each other. Roman has never been in a relationship before, so it takes him a while to figure out how to be a boyfriend. I love how he tries to be a good boyfriend, even though he makes a few mistakes along the way. He is dedicated to Lexi and treats her well and is always sweet to her. Lexi is a free spirit. She is carefree and fun and people naturally gravitate to her. She has a soothing effect on Roman. She teaches him how to enjoy life. This touching story pulled at my heartstrings.

Wow I cant believe we are 7 books into this wonderful series, and that even after so many later they are still some of the best sports romance books I have ever read!!!
This is Roman and Lexi's story. Now Lexi arrives at the Cold Fury Hockey Club as the long lost daughter of Brian Brannon. He had no idea she existed, but is more than happy to welcome her into the fold. Her half sister Gray is not so welcoming though!!!
On the first day she arrives to introduce herself to her dad, she meets Roman the bad boy of hockey. She is taken with him and soon after their relationship begins. The problem however is that her sister and CEO of the Cold Fury Hockey Team does not like Roman at all. She thinks his bad behavior on and off the ice are not good for the team. This causes problems for Roman and Lexi as she is trying to win over her new family so she wants to keep them happy, but she really feels something for Roman as well. Can she choose between the 2 or can she have both?
Now while I loved Roman and Lexi, her father Brian and his lady interest Olivia stole the show for me. I would have loved to read more about them. Brian is a uptight 61 year old owner of a hockey team and Olivia is a 47 year free spirted coffee shop owner. I loved all their scenes together and I loved how he went from uptight to casual when he was with Olivia.
Another awesome read and next up is going to be Lucas!!! Looking forward to that!!!
Roman is wonderful! Just when I didn't think Sawyer could out do herself she does! Another Fury player I'm in love with! I'm a Puck Bunny for these men!!
3.5-4 stars!
One of the best stories Sawyer has ever written. I don't know what she did because it was really different from the way she wrote Roman was fantastic and I loved the way she incorporated a love story for Brian, Lexi's dad into this story. I can't wait for more!
Roman Sykora has a reputation as an enforcer for Cold Fury Hockey team, he also has a reputation of being a bad boy and finding trouble outside of the rink. His boss has had enough, she makes a threat either ship up or ship out. Roman finds himself distracted though when he meets Lexi Robertson. He doesn't know what Lexi was doing at the Cold Fury office, but he is definitely intrigued by the little rebel.
Lexi has a secret one that is about to be revealed and it involves the owner of Cold Fury. Lexi is definitely attracted to Roman and the feeling is mutual, both are out of their element with one another but can't seem to resist one another. However there is someone else in Lexi's life that wants her far away from Roman, but what does Lexi want?
Loved this, Lexi is a hoot and so sassy. Roman is a fascinating character because he is kind of cold and distant, but with Lexi he opens up. I think this might be my favorite in the series thus far. If you like Hockey, alpha men and romance, this is one to pick up.
Loved it!! This is, in my opinion, the best book in the Cold Fury series. From the very first sentence, I was hooked.
All Lexi wanted was a family. After her mom died, she was hoping to find her family and connect with them.
Roman just wanted his one-night stands, to play hockey (the way he wanted to) and to be left alone.
Until Lexi. The relationship they have is amazing! I was able to feel the love they had to give, long before they showed it to each other. It was very refreshing to see there was no cheating in this book, and when there was a chance to cheat, the character was extremely uncomfortable. It was also good to see that there was no "other woman/other man" issue. Honestly, after a while, the other woman story line gets to be a little old.
If you haven't read anything by Sawyer Bennett, I highly suggest you start. She's amazing.
Just when I think this author that can't possibly top the previous book in the series, she goes out and nails another one. I loved everything about this book! Roman and Lexi were the perfect couple together and I am so glad they were allowed to explore that. They balanced each other perfectly and the chemistry could not be denied. I liked that we got glimpses into the Fury organization and reconnect with characters from previous books in the series. I cannot wait to see what this author has next in the series! If you enjoy great series reads, then pick up the first book in this one and get reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book provided by NetGalley.
Author Sawyer Bennett is always a go to when I crave naughty dirty talking men.
Once again, she left me drooling!
There’s a triple story going on here.
One is Roman Sýkora, team player with Cold Fury and he is a bad, bad boy!
He’s aggressive on and off the ice with players and management.
Second, Lexi Robertson the woman who not only catches Roman’s eye but is a bit
of a surprise for team owner Brian Brannon.
Third, a love I wasn’t expecting.
Roman and Lexi steamed up my kindle screen with earth shattering orgasms while
family drama and sweet new beginnings provided an even blend of both erotic
and contemporary love.
It was nice catching up with Ryker and Grey but my girlie parts are waiting for
Lucas (Cold Fury Hockey #8) due out in September!
Roman (Cold Fury Hockey #7)

Another fabulous book by Sawyer. I thought the three person point of view would difficult to read. But I really enjoyed reading Roman, Lexi and Brian's views of the storyline. It was like two stories rolled into one and completely worked! Can't wait to see what's next!
I did request and received an advanced copy of this story in exchange for my honest review.
SAWYER BENNETT KEEPS GETTING BETTER!!! I really keep thinking there is no way she can make the next in the series better and she tops it over and over. Roman and Lexi SIZZLE. Not just the sex chemistry but the dynamic of the relationship and I LOVED the third POV in this book, it added a dynamic I was NOT expecting. The overall feel of this book gives you one of longing and hope for all involved. LOVE IT!
