Can you find happiness before it is too late? Tace knows that he is getting worse, the virus has taken over and he has new issues but he is too scared to say anything as he doesn't want everyone to think that he has gone dark. Sami knows something is up with him but she has enough problems with keeping people from knowing the truth about her.
Can they ever find the bunker and get the cure that everyone needs before even more people die?
Can Tace & Sami cross that line or will it destroy everything for them? Can Jax get them to work it out he knows that he has to give them a chance as he is a happy man now and he wants his friends to be able to experience it.
Can they make more allies as they know where a bunker is and Sami has no secret any longer as she did the right thing by telling everybody about her past and she hopes that she can save Tace before it is too late.
Maybe the President is dead we can only hope. But they still need to find a cure and hopefully someone with the virus will be able to have a baby.
Another great book in the series full of action, new beginnings and understanding. I hope that we learn more about Lena and her story as she knows so much and I hope that the two children can help her. Can't wait for the next one. I was lucky enough to get a copy through Netgalley & the publishing house in exchange for a honest unbiased review.

I just love this series! Tace was from Texas but now he is part of the Vanguard guards and he was infected with the Scorpius virus and is having some episodes. Tace works with Sami a girl who joined the force when she had no where else to go, she told Jax and the guys she was in the LAPD so they let her fight with them. Tace was always attracted to Sami but after being infected it's even more pronounced and it is making him protective of Sami. Sami is attracted to Tace to but she isn't going to let him treat her any different. All this is happening as the world around them slowly dies, supplies are drying up and medical help for the infected is little if at all what they really are looking for is a cure. If you haven't read the first two books you are really missing out on story, the thought is really scary that something like that could happen. With the world falling down around them can Tace and Sami find love?

4.25*
I have to say I love this series! I never thought I'd say that about a dystopian book, but it was written by one of my favorite authors so I had to give it a try. Each book in the series has been so good and this one did not disappoint. Tace Justice was always a good ole Texas boy full of life and and easygoing. Then he contracted to virus and everything changed. Sami Steel a soldier for Vanguard and Tace's partner has been hiding something from the beginning. Tace vows to uncover her secret one way or another but since the virus he can no longer keep his feelings at bay. Sami's about to see the new Tace and their relationship takes a very hot turn. Their budding romance may not survive their secrets.

3 1\2 stars out of 5
The reason I am not giving this book a full 4 is because honestly I felt the author relied on the sexual side of her story too much and didn't give us more meat. Justice Ascending isn't a stand alone like the book 2 it instead dives right in from where the last book ended.
Rebecca Zanetti created an amazing post apocalyptic where men and women know it is only a matter of time because they contact the Scorpius and either turn into a crazy killer/zombie/rippers . I enjoyed how enemies redraw lines constantly in hopes they can one day work together.
The romance is darker because of the Scorpius and everyone seems to lust after each other. I don't see or even understand how the Scorpius is suppose to work and I guess that is true with all virus they work different in all persons but the book feels like the author doesn't os hasn't potted what the the virus is either.
Readers will be happy to get to know more about Sami and her background but Tace seems to be someone completely different from time to time. I understand that is the virus but for reader it didn't make any since and was distracting from the story.
The subplots are never finished, the ending is just thrown at the readers and the HEA is just that. It fells like the second move in a trilogy something to keep thing moving slowly so that the next story can really shine.
Way to many unanswered questions and to many dangling story lines for me to really enjoy this story.

Rebecca Zanetti can write a sex scene no doubt about it and her actions scenes flowed well and kept me reading but everything else seemed to fall apart.

Thank you Netgalley for the advance Copy.
I will plan on reading the next in the series but if subplots are not closed it might be my last.

Ms Zanetti continues to reel readers in with this compelling series about the effects of bacterium that has essentially wiped out over 90% of the world’s population and the struggle to rebuild while constantly fighting those infected beyond redemption.

It was wonderful to see Tace and Sami get their own story as they have played a significant role since the series commenced as part of the elite Vanguard, protecting their territory in the fight against this debilitating virus and the monsters it creates.

As always the story is jam-packed with action, danger, passion and some pretty awesome one-liners. Talented writers know what their audience want and deliver time and time again; and that’s what you get when you read a Rebecca Zanetti novel.

Justice Ascending is extremely tense, there are traitors in the midst of our heroes, and there is love, betrayal, hope and so much action it's impossible to sit still while reading!

The Scorpius Syndrome is one of my favorite dystopian series - it is really realistic in many ways, and even more so in Justice Ascending. There is a lot of tension, as different factions continue to fight, all the while trying to see if there is any cooperation possible. The president and his elite guard are lurking in the dark, at the outskirts, partly out of reach, but still able to meddle where they aren't wanted. Of course, some suspension of disbelief is needed, but the fact that there is love and hope actually makes it more realistic to me - not less. I think we are hardwired for hope, and so, seeing Jax, Raze, Tace and the others keep moving forward, protecting the people they love, and ultimately, seeing the light somewhere sends a really strong message.

Sami is one of the stronger female characters I've had the pleasure to get to know lately. Present and important in the prior installments, in Justice Ascending, she takes on a leading role, next to Tace. And their dance is filled with equal parts romance and violence. Both want the power, and neither wants to admit to anything. However, even with Sami's excellent fighting skills, Tace just might be stronger than her.

The overall plot of the series moves forward very nicely in Justice Ascending, and some loose ends are tied up, while others seem to keep unraveling. I really enjoyed that both Lynne and Vinnie are present and have important roles in the storyline, especially as the next novel has been neatly set up. (Please tell me there is a next novel being written?!?) The pace is extremely fast, and I have to admit that my heart-rate is still way up there, while I am thinking of possibilities and directions for these vanguards who need to build something strong to keep humanity going.

Written in third person point of view, focusing mostly on Sami and Tace, and in past tense, the action was really never-ending here. The way the story unfolded kept me in suspense, and I loved that even with some devastating moments, the characters were able to both grieve and stay strong all at the same time. Leaning on each other, and being strong for each other - again, a message of hope and strength that is important in a series that could easily become very bleak.

Another thrilling chapter in the apocalyptic world were the Scorpius virus has killed off 99% of the population. I think I liked this story more than the other because now we have two established couples along with the “new” couple the book is about plus the addition of the Mercenaries who get more page time along with finally learning more about the Bunkers that have been talked about in all the previous books.

Tace Justice and Sami Steel are characters that we've known since the first book. Tace we've known both before and after he contracted the virus. Before he was the good ole boy from Texas with a wicked sense of humor. Since surviving it his thoughts have become darker and his obsessions rampant. With his biggest being his attraction to Sami. Turns out Sami has been hiding some pretty big secrets about her past and her knowledge of the location of the Bunkers. She is pretty kick ass and as tough as the guys and her past of hacking for the government just ups her coolness.

I was happy that things moved along knowledge wise in finding out what went on in the Bunkers and the huge surprise that we learned in it. I hope there are many more books to come as I would love to have Greyson and Maureen's story along with a surprise couple we met in this book. Plus there are still plenty of loose ends still rolling around that need to be tied up.

Advanced Readers Copy Courtesy of Netgalley....:)

If there is a author out there who is better in this genre then I will personally eat my hat!!! No -one and I mean no-one can write paranormal or apocalyptic romance like Rebecca Zanetti. I swear to all that she is the Queen of what she does and I humbly bow down to her....:)

This is the 3rd book in the Scorpius Series and as the previous 2 did, it held me captive from start to finish.....sleep.....please who needs it.....this book and I were up and bonding till almost 4am!!!

This is Tace Justice and Sami Steele's story and I think we have all been waiting for it to happen.

This is NOT a standalone book and this series needs to be read in order to capture all that is going on. So if you reading this review, then its time to run along and purchase the previous 2 and get reading.

I cant even go into too much detail as it wont make sense, because I would be throwing around words like Scorpius Bacteria, Rippers, Presidents that are psychopathic, a women with a blue heart, a mysterious bunker that might hold the cure, a religious cult that is not all that it seems to be, a little girl who does not speak with mysterious abilities etc etc .......yeah you are intrigued now, I know you are!!!

Looking forward to the next installment and what I also love most about this author, is she never keeps us waiting long.....she is a writing machine.....so whoo hoo......bring it on!!!

I love disaster fiction, but this just is not a great example of the genre. This felt much like pulp fiction.

Justice Ascending is another phenomenal book from these series. I was scared in the beginning that the author wouldn’t keep the greatness but she did it again. Sami and Texas their story so different from the previous but amazing like the others. The story is full of suspense unpredictable events so many things happened in the book I was shocked because I didn’t not see them coming. Sami is so different that I thought so much more likable and her love for Texas beautiful. Texas is also so much more lovable he has the part that even he didn’t know that he have and he is amazing person. I hope the author continuous to write another amazing book from series I can’t wait to read it and to see what happens next.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

I enjoy most of Rebecca Zanetti books but I don't think this series is for me.

In my review I'm not going into the synopsis of the book as it's pretty clear on the blurb, just my thoughts why it didn't work for me.

I like the idea of what the author tried to project on this plot and storyline but I found the romance and world building almost in conflict with each other if that makes any sense. What came across for me was a mediocre romance that was flat and cheesy at times. We have the typical fights and then the sex. Trace was okay, but his reasons for his behavior just didn't really work for me, too typical or predictable. Sami's character I liked and you did feel for her and what she's gone through but again pretty predictable.

The pacing was good but as I alluded to earlier my main complaint is the conflict of romance and world building.. You're engrossed in the world building storyline and then it felt like a switch was made to the romance side and vice versa.

I think that I'll pass on future books in this series, it doesn't seem to work for me (could be just me). I'll continue to read other future books from this author though

I have fallen in love with this series. So when I saw this book was available to request I knew I had to see if I would get accept.
OMG we are now in the p.o.v of Tace our handsome Texan with his Texas and Sami the bad-a-- female solider.
We see how Tace fights the darkness within him and you have to wonder will he even make it?
He has always liked Sami so I was excited to see if that was going to ever head somewhere.
Even though I like Sami and Tace as a couple their approach of lusting for each other didn't sit too well with me. The fact they would fight each other and then have hot sex had me shaking my head a bit. Hence the only reason I gave this book a four and not a five. Though I could understand the author's thought process behind it.
We also get to finally see who Sami truly is. Her past will come into play and it will play a big part in finding the bunker that Vanguard is looking for.
As we read in the previous book we know that Vanguard was fighting the president who has scorpius as well, so we shouldn't be too surprised if he plays a role in this one as well right?

Vanguard will team up with their enemy when they get word where the bunker is but who will survive, what will be found, will they get answer, and will our poor Jax finally find his brother who he has been searching for?

So much intensity, action, love and lust is happening within these pages. This is one series that I highly recommend but you need to read from the beginning.

2017 has already given me two awesome 5 star reads!

Ms. Zanetti can write the heck out of some dystopian romance, folks. I was enthralled by this book. It captured and consistently held my attention. Though part of a series, it can be read as a standalone but to be frank, you'd be missing out on some great stories if you skip to this.

I didn't want to put Tace and Sami down. Tace is a seductive southern boy who is going through some interesting changes that include a darker side to his good ole boy personality. I liked him in the last book and he definitely caught my attention then, but boy did he have it now. There was something about him, this darker version of him, that really connected with Sami. Their fights? (/fans self) Who would've thought hand to hand combat could be hot as hell? Their chemistry was combustible. So. flipping. sexy. Sami was a sleeper for me. I vaguely remember her in the other books but she definitely shone a unique light upon this tale. This flawed pair were unique and complex. Each offering distinct value not only to one another but to the main plot.

The world building, imagery, and writing are spectacular. I feel vested in all these characters and committed to seeing the main storyline through.

Safety: Tace has been actively hooking up with two ladies in the camp. They break it off when Tace and Sami start to become more than fellow soldiers. They are all amicable and the ladies don't cause drama. There is no sharing. In fact, Tace is downright possessive and loyal after they get together. No rape or abuse.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

OMG! OMG! Justice Ascending is one of my TOP 5 FAVORITE books of 2017! Steamy, sexy, dark, gritty, action-packed, this story is one I want to reread, again and again! Rebecca Zanetti is an author you find yourself stalking non-stop online to keep up with ALL her books. Her writing takes you away and makes you wish you could live in her worlds. Whether its this dark, post-apocalyptic world, or her paranormal world, or her steamy contemporary world, her books make you wish for her sexy, cocky, dominant alphas and the love and protection they bring: EVERY TIME!

So Justice Ascending is darker, and spicier and definitely sexier, than her two previous books. I loved how dominant, dark, and edgy Tace was and how strong and brave and yea, I loved how Sami could hold her own in the post-apocalyptic world. Only Miss Zanetti can create a heroine who is strong and badass and make me love her. Tace and Sami are just so dynamic together and I loved it! And the fact that there was danger and action in between just had my heart constantly slamming against my chest and had me on the edge the whole time. And the sex...HOLY HOT HOT HOT BATMAN! I freaking love the challenge, the heat, the sizzle with every interaction between these two lovers. This book is one you won't soon forget, I GUARANTEE IT!

Justice Ascending gets a DARK AND SEXY FIVE SHOOTING STARS! Its breathtaking action, steamy sex and edgy world will have you wishing for more books IMMEDIATELY by our queen of romance, Rebecca Zanetti!

ARC received for review

It was good, but not as good as the first two. It bogged down in the middle. I'm guessing because it was more of the same. Sami and Tace/Texas were hot and it was great seeing all the old peeps. There are some new ones introduced and new alliances made, but we are again left with so many unanswered questions....
