Book two in the series. An enjoyable cozy mystery of Mallory, the ex-lawyer turned wedding planner and sleuth. Fun series. Would recommend this book and author.

I read this book in one sitting. There are so many twists and turns that I felt like I was on a carnival ride. And when all was said and done, and the person I didn't think had done it turns out to be the person who did it, it seemed so obvious that I couldn't believe I didn't figure it out for myself.

I'd read more from this author. I think that the characters could use a little more development.

The first was great this one had my head spinning with everything going on in book. This series has so much potential but to many subplots here and there. If the author would have just focused on one them- this book would've been great

This is the second in this series and I enjoyed it. I know nothing about wedding planning but found this cozy to be lots of fun plus a good mystery. Full of returning characters, new characters, plots within plots - never dull or slow. Between finishing the plans for converting the mansion into a B&B/wedding venue and rushing to stage the first wedding, things start to unravel when things don't go well for the construction and then the aunt of the bride dies during the food tasting. Talk about having a mess on her hands, Rachel and Mallory need things set right, murderer found and a wedding to complete. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

This book is jammed pack full of so many twists, turns and subplots that I was worried that the author would drop the ball somewhere, however that did not happen. Stephanie wrote this book beautifully and kept me fully engaged and on the edge of my seat through the entire read. I was excited to see more well-written characters introduced and plenty of face time with some of my already favorites from the first book. I completely enjoyed the read and found myself laughing throughout the story, especially in regards to some havoc-making pets! Another great add to this series. I can't wait to get my hands on book three, Murder Borrowed, Murder Blue, set to release on January 30, 2018!

Link will be live Friday, September 8th at 7:00am MST

This book was a great follow-up to the first one in the series.

Interesting twists through out the story both in the mystery and also in the characters' relationships. I also enjoyed reading about the challenges renovating an older historical house. This book kept me turning pages until the end!

Mallory is still trying to get her new business off the ground but renovations to transform her inheritance into a B&B as well as wedding venue are being held up. A wealthy bride wants to move up her wedding date but things only get more complicated when things start to go wrong - disappearing equipment, accidents on the work-site just to name a few. Then talk of the house being haunted brings a group of paranormal hunters into the mix.

This was such a fun adventure, the characters are well-developed and the mystery is engaging.

Mallory Shepard's B & B/wedding planner business doesn't look like it will ever get off the ground. This is enjoyable but had a lot going on which made the story quite busy. The mystery part was good, and the red herrings well-established. It's a nice afternoon read with a small-town setting.

This series just keeps getting better and better. The renovations at the B & B are continuing at breakneck pace now that the first wedding they are to host has been moved way up. Mallory & Rachel's mom comes for a visit and stays to help. I love the sisters' tight bond and how they keep fighting against many obstacles to renovate the dilapidated house into a beautiful B & B in time.
Mallory and Garrett's relationship is heating up and his daughter, Summer, is just adorable.
All of the characters are very likable and well written and I enjoy reading their interactions with each other as much as the mystery itself.
The descriptions of Thistle Park are written in a way that I can see the house in my mind. This made it more suspenseful for me as much of the action happens in the house.
There is so much going on in this book with an old Murder mystery, a new murder, several side mysteries and a Ghost-hunting expedition. I was so involved in this one that I read most of it in one night. The author is good at drawing you in and creating delicious suspense with each new event. I'm happy to say that each mystery was brought to a very satisfactory conclusion (that were all surprises) and I'm definitely hooked on this series. I cannot wait for Murder Borrowed, Murder Blue!

Murder Wears White is the second book in the "Wedding Planners Mystery" series. I thoroughly enjoyed this follow-up to Engaged To Murder. The action did not stop from the beginning to the end.

Mallory Shepard is looking forward to getting the renovations completed on her inherited home, Thistle Park. In the first book, she was bequeathed the home by the grandmother of her ex-fiancee. He was not happy to say the least and he is still trying to sabotage Mallory's new life in this book. Mallory's plan is to open a B&B as well as continue her Wedding Planning Business, using Thistle Park to host weddings. Whitney Scanlon, her first client and wedding is in the planning stages when the wedding date gets moved up due to the bride’s father's health. The contractor hopes he can get things done in time, but there are complications. It seems there might be a ghost on the premises who is sabotaging the work, stealing equipment and materials and scaring off the help. Mallory’s sister, Rachel, has asked Hunter Heywood of the Port Quincy Paranormal Society to come in to check for any ghosts in the home. At the same time, Whitney is having issues as well. She is getting anonymous notes and her room is trashed along with her wedding dress. Then there is the mystery of the murder twenty years earlier of Whitney's mother. The notes say, the person convicted is not guilty. Garrett, Mallory's beau, was the defense attorney in that case and he also feels Eugene is innocent. When there is a murder at Thistle Park, Mallory thinks everything is tied together and tries to solve the various mysteries. With the help of three Westies, Mallory puts herself in danger while trying to sort things out and save her not even opened business.

The author once again provides the reader with a well-plotted and told story with an enjoyable and believable cast of characters. Mallory's mother shows up in this book and she is a hoot. I enjoyed getting to know her. The relationship of Mallory and Garrett develops further in this book, yet in a slow and realistic way. I love how Mallory takes the bull by the horns and doesn't let her sister talk her into too much, but it is obvious the girls love each other and have a great relationship. A couple of the storylines were a little out there, but for the most part, the story was believable. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

A cute cozy mystery about a young woman who is trying to set up a new bed and breakfast in a small town. The one difference in the property is that she also wants to hold weddings there. Her plans change when the first bride needs the wedding moved up due to her father's illness. So the owner has to deal with getting the venue finished, the unexpected death of the aunt of the bride and all the extras that go along with the mystery. I really enjoyed it, with all the other smaller investigations in the book I was kept guessing almost until the end on who committed the main murder in the book. I do suggest reading the first in the series since I was a bit lost on how the main character ended up with the property for the bed and breakfast/wedding venue.

Anyone who has had renovations can sympathize with Mallory - who turns out to be a pretty darn good detective. This is classic cozy, complete with some twists you won't see coming as well as some fairly predictable things. It's a quick read because it's written in a breezy, clear style and because it's just a page turner. The characters (I liked Whitney also) are well done. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Add this one to your list if you're looking for a cozy with a bit of zing.

Wedding bells are ringing and love isn't the only thing on people's mind in this charming cozy mystery. How much can one enjoy reading about disasters, ghosts and murder? Well I certainly enjoyed this book a lot. This has to be the coolest new series I have come across. And I loved how you were kept going right up to the last page. The foreshadowing and predicting for the next book was provided throughout the story so the reader can only have positive thoughts for the next novel.

Dollycas’s Thoughts

In this 2nd installment Mallory and Rachel have moved in to Thistle Park while it is being renovated. They have plans to make the old mansion into a wedding venue and B&B, if they can get the permits. The timetable for their plans been pushed in a major way. A bride has asked to move her wedding up to just a few weeks away after she finds her father is dying. Mallory probably should have checked with her contractor but she gives the bride the o.k. and pushes full speed ahead with all the plans. But then the place and wedding seems to be plagued with problems. Stair railing falling, a floor being destroyed, a wedding dress in tatters, and then an aunt to the bride dies at the food tasting. Subsequently Mallory finds this is not the first murder for this family and the first death is connected to her backyard neighbor and close friend, (she wants it to be closer) Garrett. So Mallory has a couple of deaths to investigate, plus get the mansion ready for its first wedding, oh I can’t forget to mention, Thistle Park may be haunted…

There is so much happening in this story but this author keeps all the balls in the air, never dropping one.

First, her writing style is very descriptive, which is good, I loved learning about all the rooms in Thistle Park and it gave me the knowledge I needed to understand how it could handle weddings for up to 200 people. The outside space sounds like it will be amazing as well.

She also introduces us to several new characters, the bridal family, the construction crews, Port Quincy residents, and even some wonderful canines. Each character was distinct and well written, very easy to picture in my mind.

The story is very fast paced with plots and subplots converging and intermingling together all while standing out on their own and there is more than one mystery to solve. It never became too much or confusing, except I was sure kept guessing right up until the very end about who did what. She included humor in the right places, the romantic element is moving a pleasing pace, and the drama was the star as it should be but normal life events played their parts as well.

This book has everything I look for in a cozy mystery. Cozy lovers, I highly recommend this one. I am very excited for the next book in this series too!

I love these type of mysteries, what are called cozy mysteries, because they aren't full of all the gore and everything. Cute, enjoyable, and a quick read you will totally fall in love with this series.

Murder Wears White by Stephanie Blackmoore is the second book A Wedding Planner Mystery series. Mallory Shephard is having Thistle Park, the home she inherited from Sylvia Pierce, renovated. She is turning it into a bed and breakfast as well as a wedding venue (Mallory is also launching a wedding planning business). Then Whitney Scanlon throws a wrench in the works. She wishes to move her wedding from June to November 1 (in just four weeks). Whitney’s father, Porter is ill and his last wish is to walk Whitney down the aisle. Mallory, of course, agrees without consulting with her contractor, Jesse Flowers. It turns out that there have been “accidents” on the site. After Rachel, Mallory’s sister, almost falls through a newly installed railing, it is suggested that the house is haunted. Rachel (without Mallory’s permission) agrees to have The Port Quincy Paranormal Society check out the house. Whitney is attending a tasting with Porter, and her two aunts, Lois and Angela (along with Lois’ three Westies). Afterward, Lois starts choking and collapses. Lois dies before the paramedics can arrive. Who wanted Lois dead? Whitney’s mother was murdered twenty years prior. The man convicted of the crime claims he is innocent and Whitney has been receiving anonymous letters regarding Eugene Newton, the convicted man. Is there a connection between the deaths of Vanessa and Lois Scanlon? Mallory wants to resolve these issues for Whitney before her wedding. Someone, though, sets out to sabotage her efforts. It is going to be a busy four weeks for Mallory. Will Whitney be able to get married on November 1?

Murder Wears White is a very busy novel. I only summarized the main events. It seems there is one zany thing after another (and I was not laughing). Murder Wears White is easy to read and can be finished in just a few hours. While it is the second book A Wedding Planner Mystery series, it can be read as a stand-alone. The contents of the first book (Engaged in Death) are summarized in Murder Wears White. I give Murder Wears White 3 out of 5 stars. The murders of Lois and Vanessa were complex, but easily solved. I knew exactly what killed Lois before she started choking. I could tell you the culprits identity by the time I was 40% of the way through the novel. The secondary riddle of the mysterious ghost and the work-related accidents is no brain teaser. One conversation gave away the identity of the perpetrator. I wish this author had not packed such much nuttiness into Murder Wears White. I especially detested Delilah Flowers, Jesse’s obnoxious mother. She is a tarot reading, scooter riding terror that comes to work with Jesse. She drives her scooter around Thistle Park terrorizing the workers and Mallory. Why would anyone hire Jesse if he insists on bringing Delilah with him? Rachel Shephard continually steals her sister’s clothes and jewelry without returning them. She is also a big flirt who dates any handsome man with a heartbeat (or so it seems). Lois and her three dogs that she takes with her including to a stranger’s home for a wedding tasting. Do you see what I mean (and there is still more)? One of these things would be funny, but several of them has me just shaking my head. I just felt that all this detracted from the novel. I wish the author had focused on the main mystery. It was enough for this book along with the wedding and house renovations. I believe it would have made for a more enjoyable novel.
