After being introduced to Anna in the second book of Molly Jebber's "Keepsake Pocket Quilt" series, "Grace's Forgiveness", I knew that I would LOVE a tale that centred on this interesting, lovable young woman. This book was no disappointment. Once started, I had great difficulty putting it down. I just had to read one more page....and one more and ......
The setting is perfect for this Amish tale. The adventure takes place in one of my favorite places to visit, Berlin, Ohio. It is a charming town, full of Amish character. Molly's talent in describing the scenes and characters in a vivid, picturesque manner is evident throughout this book. I found myself imagining that I was there alongside Anna, Noah and Daniel.
The characters were described in realistic detail so that the reader can easily identify with them . I found myself wanting to give Anna a big hug at some times, a good shake at others!! The feeling of frustration with some silly decisions that Anna made left me shaking my head! She became my friend as did all the characters who had a role in this story. The only way to conquer some of their challenges was to trust God and pray to make the right choices. This was the underlying theme that ran through this book. God has the answers in good times and bad, but we have to trust Him and take time to listen to Him.
The plot keeps the reader engaged from the first page of the book to the last. The tale moves quickly with just enough unexpected twists and turns to keep us guessing. Just when you think you have figured out what Anna will do, there is another roadblock! I must admit this book kept me up VERY late one night. I just had to find out how the story ended.
This heartwarming novel is definitely a five star read!!! I am eagerly awaiting the next book by this talented author.
This book was received as a gift. The opinions expressed are honest and my own.
Loved reading this book. It had me not wanting to put this book down.
Review: Two Suitors for Anna is the third book in A Keepsake Pocket Quilt Series. This is the only book I have read from the series. It is also the first novel written by Molly Jebber that I have read. In the story, Anna Plank was a young Godly women with a loving mother and sisters that she was very close with. I enjoyed reading how her family honored God in all they did. I liked Anna but I couldn’t understand why she would even consider being with a guy like Noah. The more I read about Daniel, the more I liked him and hoped that Anna would choose him.
I have to question if Noah and Daniel would be so congenial toward one another in real life, even if they are Amish. This book didn’t grab my attention and it took me a period of several days to finish it. I felt like I wasn’t getting all the information at times to make the story complete. Anna’s outspoken younger sister Beth was fun to read about. I appreciated the themes of love, forgiveness, and trusting God to meet our every need. Also, I liked seeing the characters realize that letting go of the past, whether it’s recent or distant, is the way to a better future. Two Suitors for Anna is a book for fans of sweet romance.
A protracted yet warm story with several plot twists and turns. The Amish genre is always an interesting and sweet read. Two Suitors for Anna provides good examples of the differences between the Amish and Englisch lifestyle, beliefs, manners and customs.
The story offers an eye-opening look at an especially challenging conflict between one Amish family and a young Englisch man who takes an unhealthy interest in one of the daughters. The author does a nice job of showing the stability of love and the strength of family bonds as essential elements to success in overcoming adversity.
Good detail about Anna’s dilemmas of the heart and how through prayer, close family connections and her discovery of the meaning of true love she is able to confidently make her best choice.
What a thrilling, page turning conclusion to the Keepsake Pocket Quilt series that Molly Jebber has written. Molly has out done herself with "Two Suitors for Anna". Experiencing with Anna Plank every step of the way the emotional steps involved in making a life decision in one's own relationship department.
Picture it: It's 1903 in Berlin, Ohio, young, Amish female Anna Plank is in charge of running Grace's Dry Goods Store owned by her best friend Grace. Anna has been seeing Noah Schwartz since her family, widowed mother and two younger sisters, moved to Berlin. Noah has been trying to change the smallest details at Grace's Dry Goods Store and that of Anna; Anna has picked up on this behavior. So when Noah proposes to her and adds that they will not be making their home in Berlin, it doesn't take Anna long to tell Noah that his planned life is not the life for her.
Daniel Bontrager's arrival from Lancaster, PA to Berlin, OH, gets Anna's heart ticking. Since taking over his late brother's farm, Daniel, the handsome roofer, has offered friendship and gentle attentions to Anna and her family.
Okay enough of me giving out the details of "Two Suitors for Anna" by Molly Jebber, go buy it for yourself and read it! You won't be disappointed.
I plan to read more of Molly Jebber books in the future. Molly's characters are well developed and her story line is easy to follow while reading her books.
I received a free copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review. No money was exchanged. This is my honest review in my own words.
I can't even explain how much I enjoyed this book & the characters. Two suitors for Anna is book 3 in the Keepsake Pocket Quilt series. The Plank family was so loveable and enjoyable.
Imagine loving someone for so long and planning a wedding in your mind then suddenly you start growing apart.
Even though Anna loved Noah lately she started realizing she couldn't be the wife he wanted her to be. She was content with her life and staying in Berlin. Noah enjoyed changed and excitement and wanted to move to Lancaster and start a new life there. Anna begin realizing they were different and it broke her heart when he left and moved to Lancaster.
After spending time with Daniel she realized he have more of the characteristics she want in a husband. Follow Anna on her journey as she decide which man is best for her and her future in Berlin.
Great story that I would recommend.
Thoughts:
TWO SUITORS FOR ANNA (A Keepsake Pocket Quilt Novel Book 3) by Molly Jebber brings us into an Amish community where dreams of marriage proposals and first loves come alive in 1903.
Anna Plank is living a new life inside Berlin, Ohio’s Amish community. Her first love’s relationship is years old, and things are progressing toward a lasting relationship with some hiccups along the way. She’s managing Grace’s Dry Goods Shop and works with her schweschder, Leah, while her widowed Mamm is working at the General Store. She enjoys the closeness to her family as they work and care for their home.
However, a marriage proposal hits Anna with not only surprise but much trepidation as well. She and Noah Schwartz have hit a rough patch. Now, it wasn’t the best time for their marriage to begin. In fact, his demeanor as of late is far from loving, and Anna’s irritation is growing. This was not a one-sided relationship before, but it does seem to be tilting that way.
When his proposal comes too quickly, with a stipulation that they would be moving, Anna’s need for time to think only grows. Her doubts are closing in around her, and she could think of nothing else until he demands an answer as he scheduled to leave for Lancaster with or without her.
Brokenhearted and confused, she continues on a solitary life, but the newest young man inside the community manages to put a smile on her face.
Daniel Bontrager is faithful, gracious, kind, selfless, and handsome, but now was not the time for such thoughts. It would be unseemly for Anna to seem as if she moves from one to another, and his friendship grows to include her family as well.
Does love just sneak up on the unsuspecting?
For Anna, it seems to do just that until Noah returns to declare his intentions to her.
Meanwhile, for Daniel Bontrager, Noah’s return to the community creates more problems than he could ever imagine!
***This opinion is my own.***

TWO SUITORS FOR ANNA (A Keepsake Pocket Quilt Novel Book 3) by Molly Jebber is a historical, Amish novel bringing life to 1903 inside Ohio’s Amish community. Anna Plank dreams of a wedding and her close-knit family being a new beginning, but she would never have even thought of it as an ending!
Unfortunately, she faces this circumstance with much indecision as her longtime love is presenting marriage with an unthinkable catch. Her community and family believe Noah and she will wed as their course charted this way for some years now. However, Noah’s personality once endearing has become demanding, and his inconsiderate proposal is breaking Anna’s heart.
Should a bride need to choose to leave her family and community to marry and live elsewhere? How could Noah Schwartz expect this when his own Mamm is a widow as is hers?
Choices for Anna are to remain the same or move on. Noah now says he is going on this trip with or without her, and he demands an answer! Can love stand still or does it need to grow?
While Daniel Bontrager’s arrival in Berlin, Ohio is a painful one, he is making the right decision. His family has dwindled through death, and his bruder’s house is now empty. Jonathan’s close community extends much welcome to Daniel, and he meets a beautiful woman. Unfortunately, she is spoken for, but he does enjoy friendship with her and her family.
Once her beau leaves, his faith is called upon to understand his feelings for her and how best to handle them.
When does a past end so that a future begins?
Two Suitors for Anna by Molly Jebber is A Keepsake Pocket Quilt Novel. Anna Plank has been seeing Noah Schwartz for the last three years since her family moved to Berlin, Ohio. Lately, though, Noah has begun to grate on her nerves. Noah likes to change things up, and he keeps pushing Anna. Anna is happy with her life, family and job at Grace’s Dry Goods Shop. Noah has a big surprise for Anna. After they marry, he wishes to move to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Anna does not wish to leave her family and start over especially since Noah is not sure that he wants to settle forever in Lancaster. Noah moves forward with his plans and moves within a week to Lancaster. Daniel Bontrager has just moved to Berlin from Lancaster (what a coincidence). Daniel is taking over his deceased brother’s farm. Daniel is instantly taken with Anna and is happy to hear that she is now available. Daniel slowly gets to know Anna, and they start spending more time together. Daniel is especially helpful with Anna’s younger sister, Leah. Leah gets involved with an Englischer who cannot take no for an answer. But then Noah returns to town. Anna’s heart is torn between these two men. Anna will need to pray and ask for God’s guidance so she can make the right decision. Then something unexpected enters Anna’s life that will complicate her decision, but it will greatly enhance her life. Return to Berlin, Ohio to see what choice Anna will make and catch up with the characters we have come to know and love in Two Suitors for Anna.
Two Suitors for Anna is well-written, has a good pace, lovely setting, and a nice time period (1903). I liked the characters. They are realistic and relatable (they feel like real people). I give Two Suitors for Anna 4.25 out of 5 stars. The only negative comment I have is that I did find the book predictable. I knew what would happen once April Cooper entered the scene. I like the life lessons provided by the author. Two Suitors for Anna is an uplifting novel. I enjoyed reading this book, and I stayed up late to finish it (I knew how it would end, but I still wanted to read it). Two Suitors for Anna can be read alone, but I recommend checking out the other books in A Keepsake Pocket Quilt series. All the books in the series are heartening stories that will leave you with a smile on your face and good feeling in your heart (corny, but true).
Anna has been waiting for Noah's proposal of marriage. Now that he's "asked," she's not sure about accepting! Noah leaves town as Daniel moves in, in more ways than one!
An interesting Amish romance. The indecision between the men was a little too long. The rest of the story stayed true to the genre with some Englisch and Amish family problems examined.
Good story.
I voluntarily read an ARC of this book thru Netgalley and publisher for an honest review.
Two Suitors for Anna by Molly Jebber is a heartwarming story of romance in Berlin, OH. Anna, her sisters, and their Mamm have a good life in a close Amish community. In a relationship with Noah for several years, Anna's expectation is that they will marry, settle in Berlin and have a houseful of kinner. But Noah is discontent with the status quo and has a sense of adventure and curiosity. Settling down in one place is not for him. Anna realizes that love may not be enough to overcome their differences. Then come Daniel, a man who comes to love Anna just as she is. Who can she trust? Will she let the past confuse her? Which man does God want for Anna? Family and faith are strong themes throughout. The three sisters have a very close relationship and have each others' backs and are quick to forgive when situations get a little testy. Beth, the youngest, is quick to defend her sisters and speaks her mind freely, bringing a little humor to some situations. The characters are likable and believable and throughout the book, the reader sees where they rely on God for wisdom in their lives. The author keeps the reader's interest by throwing a few wrenches into the works. While Anna is in turmoil over her decision regarding which man to love, there is frightening trouble with an Englischer, an abandoned baby and a stolen coin case to deal with. All in all a lovely story with a satisfying ending.
I really enjoyed reading this book, Anna is a character that faces so many choices and yet she makes her decisions with grace and faith. I loved her two suitors, honestly could there be more like them? I found her love triangle to be refreshing in the Amish fiction. Though certainly not racy, this was a tale of choosing the right match for your heart. Anna certainly has to do this more times than one through out the book. Her compassion and tender moments made me wish to have her as a dear friend.
Anna lives in Berlin, OH in the early 1900's with her younger sisters Leah and Beth and their mother. Life is settled and calm in town and Anna is dreaming about marrying and her life with Noah until she gets fed up with his controlling ways. She breaks it off with him and he moves away like he had planned to before their breakup. Anna runs a quilt shop in town and enjoys herself. She meets and is friendly towards new in town, Amish man Daniel. He fixes things at her shop and around town and makes himself well known around town. The towns folks enjoy his company. Innocent and naive, Leah, Anna's younger sister is starry eyed over an Englisher who as she quickly finds out isn't what he makes himself out to be. Beware of danger! When, Noah comes back to town it causes Anna, to have mixed feelings towards her former fiancee and her current one. This book kept me reading and I hated to put it down. It was just that great! Tender caring community and some surprise happenings will keep you glued to this book! This is my first book I've read by Molly Jebber and I especially want to go back and read the earlier books in the Keepsake Pocket Quilt series.
I highly recommend this book to lovers of Amish and Historical fiction.
Publication date January 31,2017.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington books for providing me with a copy in exchange for my honest review.
This story is about the Plank family, a mother and three daughters living in the early 1900’s in an Amish Community in Berlin Ohio. In particular the story focus on Anna the oldest, and her romance with Noah, a man that is set to change her, and wants her to move to Lancaster PA, but things cannot remain smooth, and before he leaves a new settler moves to their community, Daniel Bontranger.
Ok you are going to find yourself rooting for one over the other, and found that with the things that are happening you are definitely swayed to choose one. There are some serious and sad events that take place, and they make your choice even more evident. While we do have some moments that will make you smile, especially the ones with pets.
You will be on a yo-yo ride, when first one and then the other of this special couple cannot make a major commitment, you will be page turning and looking for answers here.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Zebra, and was not required to give a positive review.
A sweet story about a widowed Amish mother and her three daughters. Anna, the oldest is being courted by Noah but has a lot of misgivings about the relationship. Noah likes adventure and things done his way but Anna wants calmness and routine. When Daniel moves into Berlin, he is interested in Anna. A few twists in the story keeps the reader wondering which suitor will Anna choose. Highly recommended.
This book is #3, in the Keepsake Pocket Quilt series. I am not certain if I have read the first two or not, although I have read some of Molly Jebber's earlier books. However, it can easily stand on its own.
The story of Anna and the two suitors vying for her hand in marriage was a sweet Amish romance story. There are some trials and struggles in the storyline that make it interesting to the reader. The writing was perhaps a little more simple in style than some of the other Amish authors that I have read. I kind of noticed thoughts and feelings of the characters repeated several times just in slightly different wording making some parts feel a bit repetitive in nature.
I enjoyed the story. It was a sweet, clean romance and a pleasant story.
I received an ebook copy from NetGalley for my honest review.
This was a great story that had quite a few unexpected plot twists. However, that was overshadowed a bit by the elementary writing. It is in good need of being re-edited. I was also distracted by the author's misuse of the word "glimpsed" in several place, where it should have been "glanced". And the puppy, Cotton, is referred to as both a he and a she in different places, so you never know its correct gender. Although the simplistic lifestyle and manner of speech were portrayed wonderfully, in some parts it tended to make the characters themselves seem more simple-minded than simply a simple, "no frills", down-to-earth people.
I was a bit torn in how to rate this book. The wordsmith who is OCD about the "details" (rules of grammar, sentence structure, etc.) was going bonkers, but the reader in me was fascinated and thoroughly captured by the well-crafted story. For that reason, alone, I bumped the rating from what might have been a 3 star review up to a 4 star review. I would definitely read more from Jebber. But, for future reference, poor editing can sorely discredit an otherwise wonderful story.
*I received a complimentary ARC copy of this book from NetGalley & Kensington Books in order to read and provide an honest review.
This was simply a beautiful story I did not want to put down! And I enjoyed being "reacquainted" with Grace from previous installments of this series. It was interesting to see that "love triangles" take place even among the Amish! Anna, her sisters and their mother have a beautiful bond that is extremely tight knit. I highly recommend!
