Ginger and Karen were librarians. Ginger had a job with the state as a researcher as she was just nosy and now she gets paid to read through people’s details.CPS needed to know the dirt on people and Ginger was nosy. They were at a convention in New Orleans. Ginger and Karen had been cohorts in misadventures for years . they both had a passion for mayhem. Ginger was going to meet with Kitten- a stripper and give her the book she had. Karen and Ginger had met Kitten the night before and Ginger was determined to give her the book Kitten had been promised. But first Ginger stepped to get some different clothes that were more appropriate to party in. Ginger might have to toe the line during work hours but she setting in the lobby after when Bourbon street was a couple hundred feet away. Captain Brams magnus told Special Agent Saxon Hale that she goes by the name of Kitten. She poses as a stripper on the street when she is on the lookout for her boss. Saxon said tell him why no one sees the Raven’s face and still he runs a major underground empire Saxon had followed his tips there but the residents of the community were tight lipped. But it wouldn’t be the first case he’d cracked through persistence. Saxon was determined .
not to leave until the Raven was in handcuffs and evidence to keep him locked up. But he also had a personal reason to be there and it centered on the photos Brams team had captured of former Special Agent Tyler Martin. Saxon was very interested in taking Tyler down. Before he took another shot at hi, or his brother Vitus. Tyler was a rogue- a traitor- and he didn’t care who he so long as it got what he wanted. Saxon had once him a superior among the Shadow Ops team. Bram said he had surveillance on Kitten taking three of the most recent victims. Into various bars but half the bar owners swear she’s a atripper in their barit proves nothing and Bram and Saxton were trying to seal a leak that had taken men on both their teams. Their source was dead- Russian who went by Pratt. He’d been the Raven’s right hand man. Shadow Opps teams took the assignments no one else wanted. Dare Servant had been working the case for two months. Than Vitas had hauled in Congressman Ryland’s daughter Damasius who was being held in one of the buildings behind the famous Bourbon Street. It wasn’t the first time cases overlapped. Ginger stooped in a shop and got new clothes and was now on Bourbon Street looking for Kitten Bram and Saxon sees Ginger. Bram and Saxon see Ginger go in the place where Saxon and Bram had a mission and she went in the building and Saxon knew she didn’t belong there. The place Ginger was going into was a nest of underworld thugs. Saxon takes Ginger and runs with her and his team. Ginger had witnessed a murder done by the Raven. He had killed one if his men right in front of Ginger. Ginger is being hunted by the murders to kill her for what she had seen and could testify against the Raven she had been the only one that had seen the murder happen. Saxon had to protect Ginger and keep her alive. But he also found he was attracted to her. They had a hot chemistry. Saxon found he couldn’t trust the people in charge as their safe house are comprised within minutes of arrival. Saxon also is getting feeling for Ginger. Vitas even helps to protect Ginger and Saxon.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the danger, action drama, and suspense. I loved Ginger and Saxon together and how they interacted with each other. I advise you to read the other books in this series before this one for a smoother read and for information and background. I loved the plot and pace. I really liked that Ginger didn’t melt down after what she was going through but instead she wants to help anyway that she can. I didn’t want to put this down. I think Ginger and Saxon should have taken time to build a relationship. I didn’t really care for the changing POVs it was harder to follow the book. I really enjoyed the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.
Entertaining and interesting suspenseful romance with some action. I liked the premise for Deep Into Trouble, Ginger witnesses a crime, and Saxon needs to help keep her safe so she can testify. Saxon is part of an elite force, and his team is top notch. The crime Ginger witnessed happened by some really dirty bad guys, who happen to have some buddies in powerful positions, but they are all out for themselves, so that causes problems for everyone. The story moved a little too slow at times; the first 3 chapters seemed to take forever, and the transitions are weird sometimes; the story doesn't flow smoothly. There's too many POV scenes with the bad guys. Also, the whole beginning makes Ginger seem like an idiot, but luckily, she gets better as the story progresses. The sex scenes are hot, and I loved the action portions. I was entertained the whole time, and look forward to read the other elite team member's stories!
I enjoy Dawn Ryder's books. I have read a few other books and her writing is pretty consistent. Ginger witnessed a murder and now the murderers are after her, but she has Saxon there to help protect her. They both have feelings for each other. Saxon softens some around Ginger and it was nice to see. Another great read by Dawn Ryder. I can't wait to read another one of her stories.
This has been my favorite in the Unbroken Heroes series, though it suffers from the same fate as so many other books that are part of a long-running series: repetition. Repetition in storyline and in character use. However, I did like the development of librarian Ginger Boyce, and Saxon Hale is one of the better developed heroes in the series.
Saxon is a BAMF who takes charge whenever trouble comes looking for him. In this third book in the series, Saxon is ready to take bad guys apart. This third book can be read as a standalone. It would be better to read the books in the order written.
Ms. Ryder is quickly becoming an author I automatically want to read. For those who enjoy Maya Banks' KGI series, Ms. Ryder is the author for you. In this latest book with the sexy Saxon, there is suspense, betrayal and hot sex. Saxon is the quiet killer who showed up in a previous book. I liked his quiet manner of getting things done. He never really becomes riled up. In this book, as the main character, the readers get to see Saxon all hot and bothered by a sexy librarian. Yes, there is a reason why men have a fantasy about librarians and Ginger Boyce is a sterling example of why.
Ginger seems to be a sweet character who is totally out of her element. She's the shy librarian who goes a little wild for some fun and it comes to bite her big time. Luckily for her, Saxon is there to protect her. Their interactions are funny because Ginger is trying to understand this crazy dangerous spy world whilst Saxon is trying to behave and not rip her clothes off. Of course their sexual chemistry sparks and clothes do end up flying off. These two characters make the story as they are relate-able and fun.
The pace of this story is nice and fast. I liked how we moved through the suspense part with the right amount of tension. I enjoyed the slowdowns with the sexy scenes between Ginger and Saxon. Then when their lives are threatened again, it is go-go-go. Some of the secondary characters who back up Saxon are nice to see again. Overall, this book is a fun ride and recommended for romantic suspense lovers.
Deep Into Trouble is the third book in the author's Unbroken Heroes series, and to date, I've only read the opening novel, Dangerous to Know, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Sadly, I wasn't quite as taken by this novel as I was the first, and since I haven't read the second novel in this series, which left me a bit confused about the history of characters appearing in this novel who were introduced in the second one, it took me some time to understand who they were and the roles they played in the lives of the hero and heroine in this novel, and for that reason and several others, I can only give this one a 3.5 star rating.
This novel's hero is Saxon Hale, brother of Vitus who was apparently the hero in book #2, and the heroine is Ginger, a research librarian who is attending a convention in New Orleans, but leaves her hotel to catch and savor a bit of the true flavor of Bourbon Street, and to deliver an autographed copy of a novel to Kitten, a stripper she'd met. She even stops along the way to purchase an outfit more suitable to the climate and culture of Bourbon Street, and then begins her search for Kitten. What she doesn't expect to do is witness a murder, perpetrated by a man known only to the agents in shadow ops as "The Raven", but whom Ginger recognizes as Marc Grog, a man who's been reported to be dead for the past decade. She's now the only person who can identify him, testify against him, and break his underworld connections--and as the only witness to this murder, she's now his primary target. She manages to get away and is rescued by one of agents who have the area under surveillance, Saxon Hale.
This novel starts off like gangbusters and is peopled with a plethora of characters in shadow ops, politics, crime, even a Presidential candidate, all of whom have secrets, and who have no problem double-crossing and even triple-crossing one another. While the majority of the novel centers around trying to keep Ginger alive, there's quite a heated romantic relationship building between Saxon and Ginger, who, it turns out, has a lot more defensive skills than your average small town librarian. While I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters, there were so many changes of plans, changes of location, and supposed safe refuges, that the novel seemed to get so bogged down in those location changes that it lost much of its forward momentum.
I liked the fact that some of Ginger's skills were a surprise to Saxon and that she wasn't a frail and frightened, cowering, whiny damsel in distress, but while we got to know what Ginger was thinking much of time, Saxon's character wasn't quite as fully developed, nor were we given a chance to know what he was thinking and feeling throughout most of the book. Although I expected the sex between these two to be heated, and expected an HEA ending, I didn't feel that the ending was particularly exciting--it was certainly a lot less dramatic than some of the earlier chase scenes in the novel, and was a bit of a let-down.
There were certainly enough secondary characters to keep this series going for some time, and I will continue to follow it, but I do hope that the editors and proofreaders do a much better job on any subsequent installments.
Action packed and sexy to the core. Dawn Ryder keeps you turning the pages while hang on for what happens next.
All I can say is ... wow! Fasten your seat belts and hold on, DEEP INTO TROUBLE is one wild ride! This is book 3 of author Dawn Ryder's Unbroken Heroes novels but don't worry if you haven't had the pleasure of reading the other two, this is a stand alone. I loved the characters, Saxon and Ginger meshed together perfectly, seemed to understand each other right away and worked together as if they had known each other for years. The pace of this book is very fast, but at times, to me, it might have felt like a case of a bit too much happening. It could be because there are so many people after them ... killers, politicians and even some federal agents ... it just seemed to be a bit too much at times. Still they manage to have a bit of romance mixed into other action which is of course what we all want. If you are looking for a super hot, heavy action, intensely emotional book then DEEP INTO TROUBLE is exactly what you need.

Ginger Boyce is a librarian who is looking for a wild side to living up her life. After witnessing a murder she is forced into protective custody. Saxon Hale is part of a top secret group that is searching for an underworld boss known as the Raven. There is something about Ginger that is getting through Saxon thick skin and anti-girlfriend lifestyle.
A group of lethal agents who have been specially trained to protect and kill, a shadow ops team that not only protects, but is also the target. The next addition to the Unbroken Heroes series is here. We read about his brother Vitus, now it's Saxon Hale's turn. And just like the agents before him he is invincible and lethal. His priority is to protect Ginger Boyce, the only eyewitness to have ever seen the infamous Raven.
Ginger Boyce is a librarian who is attending a convention in New Orleans. All she wants to do now is have some fun and enjoy all that the city has to offer. The last thing she expected was to be drawn into a murder scene and be the only person alive who can identify the infamous crime lord, Raven. The FBI has been after the Raven, but with no clues or witnesses to identify him, they have no choice but to wait for him to make a mistake. They never expected to find a witness willing to help them. Much less one who is a sweet librarian with some unexpected sass in her. Ginger has never been one to trust easily, but if there is one person she can trust to keep her safe and alive, it is Saxon Hale.
Saxon Hale always gives his 100% to the mission. He will do anything to bring the Raven and his cohorts to justice. He knows that there are some very powerful and influential people who are backing the crime lord. Ginger is in grave danger. But what surprises him the most is the attraction and draw that he feels for the sexy librarian. She may be sweet but she has a spine of steel and won't back down from a fight. He knows that he has to keep his distance from her, but that just may be the hardest thing that he has ever had to do.
Another exciting and sensual read by Dawn Ryder. I absolutely love the shadow ops guys. Strong, determined and protective to the end, they are one hot group of men! Of course, I should also mention that there is a female member of the team, Thais. I truly hope that she will end up with Dunn Bateson and that their story will be next. Can't wait to read more of this electrifying series!
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book
Soooo I have to say that this is my favorite book in this series. Ginger Boyce is a librarian that is looking for an adventure and oh boy does she get way more than she bargained for
Saxon Hale already lives a life of way to much adventure and when he sees Ginger going somewhere she definitely shouldn't be... he cant help but try and stop her from going to the point of no return!
The real question that should be on everyone's mind is can Saxon keep Ginger alive long enough to even attempt to fall in love? Read and find out!
This book is action packed...romantic an hot hot hot!!! I can not wait for more! Great job Dawn Ryder
This book is action packed and the writing does it credit. Ginger is a librarian on a mission to be more adventurous and boy does she get it! Saxon is hella sexy and there's this instant attraction between them that sizzles. Though they meet under circumstances of rescue, they are able to build and develop what was sparked by their initial interest. I liked them together but also liked them as individuals.
The plot was fast paced but compelling and I don't feel anything was lost in the process. This is not always easy to achieve in this sub-genre where details might be sacrificed to move the story forward. The writing and prose was strong. All in all an enjoyable read. Safety: No others for either.

Wow what a fast paced read full of action, bad men, hot men and romance. This is the third book in the An Unbroken Heroes series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Though there was some violence in this book it is the kind that isn't in graphic detail so for me it is just the right amount.
The authors attention to detail in describing emotions and the scenery gives the reader a full flavor to the story and will enthrall the reader like I was. Her ability to keep up the fast pace till the very end is impressive and she leaves a lot of space for future books with the way she ends the story.
Saxon is a good guy with his head in all the right places but he is no match for librarian Ginger's hidden feistiness. I love this side of her personality and how she pushes Saxon's hot button ever chance she gets.
Ginger is quite a surprise as she hides behind her librarian facade. Watching her inner strong girl come out is fun and rewarding.
After reading and enjoying this book I want to go back to read Vitus's story, Dare You to Run book #2 of this series. Vitus is Saxon's brother and he certainly caught my attention with all the mentions of him and his wife.
This is the third book in this series but the first that I've read in the series and by this author. This story has lots of action, suspense, drama and plenty of hot and steamy scenes. The story will just suck you in from the first page. The characters are really well written. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Librarians have gotten a bad rap. Ginger Boyce knows she fits into the mold, but here in New Orleans she's ready for some sassy fun. Until she decides to dress up like the stripper Kitten she and her friend had met the night before. She's determined to bring Kitten the signed book they'd promised her--plus see a bit more of the New Orleans night life. Unfortunately, trying to find her led Ginger to a very bad place.
Hasn't Marc Grog been dead for two years?
When Ginger goes into the back alley room looking for Kitten, she finds Marc Grog instead, along with A crowd of lowlife gangsters who work for drug kingpin Raven. Who's also there, killing one of his men who'd made a mistake. Right in front of Ginger.
Oops.
Now, we know Ginger didn't expect to see Marc Grog, much less a murder. If Agent Saxon Hale can't get her out of there fast enough, she'll be next. She's their only shot at getting Raven. She's the only one who knows who he is. Her life expectancy is now being counted in hours, not years.
Combine a hot town, a cast of cool characters, smoking chemistry and a lot of humidity? You get the Agent and the Librarian, kicking butt and taking names.
Dewey decimal style.
Read it for the fun and fire! Thanks
