So many plot holes and completely over-the-top situations really took me out of the story.
loved this book! Ginger and Saxon were perfect! I didn't read the other books in the series but after how much I loved this one, I can't wait to go back and read more!
4.5 Stars
As an avid watcher of world politics, this story is too on the nose for me, Otherwise, A+ for a really intriguing and engrossing plot! DEEP INTO TROUBLE is filled with action and intrigue, just the way I love it and was so much fun to read even though I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I've had this series on my TBR for a while but started with this book and while it wasn't an issue for me to follow the story, I had lots of questions that I think the previous books will answer, so I'll recommend starting from the beginning if you really want to enjoy the series.
I don't do horror anything but imagine watching a horror movie and seeing the blonde (why is it always a blonde?) go down the basement stairs instead of running away, knowing that the end is nigh and yelling into the void? That is exactly how I felt in the opening of this book.
Ginger Boyce is exactly what you expect a librarian to be, at least on the outside. Underneath that buttoned up facade is a fiery bundle of energy chomping at the bit to get out and where else could she be tempted to let down her hair than while on vacation in sultry New Orleans? But Ginger might have bitten off more than she can chew because her walk on the wild side just landed her in the middle of a federal investigation as the eye witness to a crime and the only person who can identify a mob boss who has eluded the authorities for about a decade. Which means Ginger has just become a liability with a hefty price on her head and only one person stands between her and certain death.
Saxon Hale is determined to keep Ginger alive for many reasons and his feelings for her are at the top of that list. But even he has no idea of the power and reach of the enemy they are dealing with and he'll need his wits, skills and all the help he can get to keep Ginger alive.
I enjoyed Ginger's sass a lot and like that even though she was scared out of her mind, she didn't curl up and become helpless, but was invested in her own safety and I also liked that she stood up to Saxon when needed. I guess the previous book will give a better idea of who Saxon really is, but I liked that he was flexible and willing to work with Ginger and that he respected her ability to keep a cool head.
I liked the instant attraction between Ginger and Saxon and imagine that the dangerous circumstances heightened the emotions they were feeling and the time they spent together strengthened their bond and made them an interesting couple, but I found it a bit inappropriate that with the hounds of hell nipping at their heels, they found so much spare time for all that nookie.
Before now, I would have brushed off this amount of political intrigue as hyperbolic but now it seems to be business as usual. If you love political and action thrillers or mysteries, this book and probably the entire series is definitely one you don't want to miss.
DNF. I couldn't really get into the story and the characters. This might be a book I pick up at a later date because the premise is everything I love about romantic suspense.
Ginger wanted some excitement in her life. Now she's in New Orleans for a librarian conference. Here is her chance to take a walk on the wild side. When she witnesses a murder, she becomes a target for a criminal mastermind, the Raven. Luckily Saxon Hale and some of his Shadow Opps force are there. Thanks to Saxon's quick wits, she's alive. Can he keep her safe? Saxon is a dedicated agent. He's determined to get the Raven and to track down ex-agent Tyler Martin who turned traitor. As Saxon protects Ginger, he fights their incredible chemistry. Do they stand a chance to find happiness? This exciting thriller kept me on the edge of my set. This story is filled with excitement and unexpected twists and turns. Saxon and Ginger make an amazing couple. She is strong and brave. She makes a great partner. Saxon is savvy agent. He will protect Ginger with his life. Their chemistry is combustible. The dialogue is witty and humorous. Their wacky wedding had me simultaneously laughing and biting my nails. I enjoyed the drama and the romance. The characters are well written and likeable. I wanted to know more about them. Dawn Ryder did an excellent job with this addition to the series, An Unbroken Hero. I can't wait for them to bring Tyler Martin to justice before he harms anyone else.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments are my honest opinions.
This was a good read for me. The story is fast paced with lots of suspense and drama. The chemistry between Ginger and Saxon was steamy. I found the story entertaining and action packed. I really liked it.
Deep Into Trouble' by Dawn Ryder is book 3 in the "Unbroken Heroes" series. This is Saxon and Ginger’s story. Ginger is a busybody with a good heart and kind soul. She is a librarian and research person. Her nosiness has lead her into trouble where she witnessed a murder that she is now being hunted by the murders to make sure she is killed since she witnessed the crime. Saxon loves the thrill of the hunt and is in New Orleans on a mission that is leading him to take down Raven. But in the mist of everything, Ginger walks into his mission which fouls everything up and now he is having to protect her from the murders. As he is protecting her, he starts to realize he is falling in love with her and Ginger started developing feelings for Saxon but there are many twists/turns that happen among also, secrets that are being hidden to protect Ginger but still have the power to hurt when the truth is releveled.
This book had everything that I was looking for in my book- action, suspense, thrills, romance , mystery and awesome banter/humor. This is a good book that you will get involved in and once you start reading, you do not want to put this book down.
My rating: 4.4 stars ****

Deep Into Trouble the 3rd book in the Unbroken Heroes series and the 2nd book I have read of the series was a pretty good read. I liked our hero Saxon but not as much as I like his brother Vitus the hero from the last book. I felt I didn't get to know Saxon as well. He was very closed off and professional for most of the book. I liked Ginger a lot. I thought she was fun, spunky, and brave. I thought Saxon and Ginger had some great lust and major heat but I didn't really feel the love. I liked the action in this book and I liked getting to know the other members for the team a little better too. I loved getting to catch up a little bit with Vitus. The bad guys Tyler and Carl Gawd I really hate those two jerks and can't wait for them to get their comeuppance Overall it was an entertaining read and I will continue with the series!
4.5 stars--DEEP INTO TROUBLE is the third installment in Dawn Ryder’s contemporary, adult UNBROKEN HEROES romantic, suspense series focusing on an elite Shadow Ops team. This is Navy SEAL Saxon Hale, and librarian/researcher Ginger Boyce’s story line. DEEP INTO TROUBLE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from previous story lines is revealed where necessary although some of premise continues from earlier reads.
Told from several third person perspectives including Saxon and Ginger, DEEP INTO TROUBLE is a story of murder, intrigue, corruption, power and love. Ginger Boyce found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time-a witness to a murder, our heroine is on the run with a man she knows nothing about. Enter Shadow Ops agent Saxon Hale, the man who will protect Ginger with his life, and the man who finds himself falling for the woman who calls to his heart. What ensues is the building relationship between two people whose lives will be tied together-‘for better or for worse-thank you, thank you very much’; the search for a crime boss known as the Raven; and the struggle to stay one step ahead of Washington DC’s power elite.
Once again, political aspirations and the ultimate battle for control are front and center in a story line where one woman is caught in a power struggle with the nations political powerhouse. Saxon’s team of Shadow Ops soldiers can no longer trust the people in charge as their safe houses are compromised within minutes of arrival.
The relationship between Saxon and Ginger is one of immediate attraction but Saxon knows that to get involved with a ‘job’ means placing Ginger in the line of fire. Not only do our couple find themselves saying ‘I do’ but the prospect of a happily ever after may never come to fruition if Saxon and his team cannot protect the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, intense and seductive without the use of over the top graphic language and text.
Once again, there is a very large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters who play intricate roles throughout the story. Saxon’s brother Vitus returns to help protect his brother and the woman with whom Saxon has fallen in love. We are introduced to team member Captain Bram Magnus whose story will be told next.
DEEP INTO TROUBLE is a fast paced, action packed story of intrigue and power; romance and love; family, friendship and a happily ever after. The premise is addicting; the romance is provocative; the characters are colorful, dynamic and real. DEEP INTO TROUBLE is the perfect read for fans of romantic suspense where the struggle to survive is a battle until the end.

Deep into Trouble was wonderfully action packed and full of action and from that point of view, it will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. However, this was the third book in the series and I don't feel that this should have been read as a stand alone. It was clear that there were characters and a story line that had run over from the previous books continuing into Deep Into Trouble.
The romance element for this new couple, Ginger and Saxon was a little too insta for me and I would have loved to have had more emotional depth from them, however, they had great sexual chemistry and the steamy scenes were great.
For me this was an ok read, however, I'm pretty sure I would have enjoyed it much more having read the previous books in this series.

I was provided with a copy of this book from the Publisher via NetGalley; there was no inducement or obligation.
I have never read a story by the author so I was a little confused at the beginning since this is part of a series. I quickly got caught up and this is an extremely exciting and heartbeat accelerating story. Great characters that are highly developed and it was full of surprises.
This is Book 3 in the "Unbroken Heroes" Series. Deep Into Trouble by Dawn Ryder.
This is the story of Saxon and Ginger. This book can be read as a standalone.
This story is full of action, suspense, angst, romance, sex, bad guys and everything I need to enjoy it since the very first page until the end!
Good characters, nice plot. Interesting read.

"Fire is base, baby. Play with it and you're going to get the animal."
Deep into Trouble started off with a bang and didn't slow down one bit. It was adrenaline fueled and packed with danger but also enough heat to scorch your Kindle!
Ginger was just at the wrong place at the wrong time - that's how she finds herself dodging bullets and running for her life down the back alleys of New Orleans with sexy Shadow Ops agent, Saxon Hale.
Locked inside of him was something very rare, the code of a gentleman. One that gave true meaning to the word honor.
Saxon's life's been dedicated to catching the bad guys and never getting emotional attached to anyone. Ginger was supposed to be just another asset but her sass and steel backbone stirs a dominate protective and possessive side of him that he can't control.
There was a little curve to her lips that matched the excitement shimmering in her eyes. Hell, the look on her face darn near took five years off his life because one good long look and he almost believed in happiness again.
This was a sexy read with two great MCs and I had fun reading it. I loved the sexual tension, the explosive chemistry and the instant pull of lust and love. The whirlwind marriage was spontaneous and I'm a sucker for marriages of convenience and this had that with a modern twist to it. The supporting characters were intriguing, the revolving POVs flowed smoothly and kept the story's pace fast and engaging.
I would definitely say this is insta-love since they literally spend a handful of days together. Time wise it was super fast but emotionally I felt their bond and I was swept away in the moment. I really did love them together as a couple. They were a perfect match!
Safety: There was no cheating, OM/OW drama or long separations. Does have a HEA and ends with an 8 months later epilogue and a baby bump! I love epilogues but babies are the cherry on top Lol!
This is my first book by this author and the story of Ginger and Saxon. It had some intense moments and the action was well written. Lots of bad guys and politiking going on. Ginger ends up at the wrong place and at the wrong time becoming an eyewitness to a man committing murder. It just so happens that Special Agent Saxon has been trying to pin down this particular bad man. After this incident, Saxon steps in and begins to protect Ginger., along with his team. However, he is instantly attracted to her and knows that he should not be. The feelings between the two start a push and pull scenario. Though I liked certain aspects of this read, the connection between Saxon and Ginger just did not do it for me. I did not feel that Ginger or Saxon was flushed out as a character. Don't get me wrong, once they did decide to act on their feelings of lust, the sex was intense and hot, but it just felt off. The secondary characters were interesting, Bram and Dare, but there was so much going on with the other characters in the story that it felt too much was going on at the same time. In my opinion you don't really need to read the other books to know the characters in this story., Ryder does a decent job of describing them, that I did not feel lost. All in all a likable read. 3.5 stars
Hang on for a ride on the danger rollercoaster. There is non-stop action, suspense, sexy times and great dialog. Everything moves so fast that if you do not pay attention you might miss something. I read the previous book in this series (but not the first one so am not sure if it would make a difference) and I personally think reading the previous book helps in understanding what is going on (that book is good also). Loved Saxon (and did you not chuckle when is name his said during the marriage ceremony). Despite his best efforts he cannot deny his being drawn to Ginger. A meek librarian Ginger is not – she can kick ass with the rest of them. Again, Tyler has evaded the team and who knows where/when he will turn up next. I actually like his character – yes he is bad but…..
I'm really not sure how I feel about this book. I've read all the books in the series this might be my least favorite. I liked Saxon Hale and Ginger Boyce. They had great chemistry and they were sexy as hell together. The story had teeth but there were times that it seemed cheesy.
Saxon and his team were set up to catch the Raven who's been filling the ally's of the French Quarts with dead body's. Ginger Boyce is in the wrong place and one of the worst times. Witnessing the Raven killing someone has put a death warrant on her but also she now knows who the Raven is. Taking her into protective custody has made it very hard for Saxon to keep his hands off her.
There's a few good twists and turns and the author sets up the next book rather nicely and now I can't wait to see what's next.
Romantic suspense is a hard sub-genre to review. If you are too vague, there is no point to the review, but if you are too specific there is no reason to read the book.
So, I am going to try for something in the middle.
Saxon and Ginger were, at first look, an odd match. He is a special forces soldier, she is a librarian. To say they live in different worlds is an understatement. But, it works. The draw they have to one another is compelling, and interesting. And, it is strong enough to make you willing to believe that both of them would have been willing to be involved with the other...even though the situation they found themselves in was one that would make a lot of people run...witnessing a violent crime is rarely the beginning of a romance.
But in this it works.
I enjoyed this book. The writing was strong. The pacing was mostly well constructed, which is important in a romantic suspense...you need to believe the romantic interludes and the danger of the situation. In this case, I thought the balance was a little too much toward the suspense...not enough to keep me from enjoying it, but it did leave me wanting more.
I recommend this book.
3.5 stars
This book is the third book in the series & I really wish I'd read the other books first as I feel they would have given better insight into some of the characters.
I did enjoy Saxon & Ginger's story. The chemistry between them was undeniable & I love a great suspense element to keep the reader on edge. However I did feel that the paragraphs suddenly skipped from character to character & that was a bit confusing at times
3.5 - "Bring it." Stars!
The third book in Dawn Ryder’s Unbroken Heroes series, finally gives us Saxon Hale’s Story. If you haven’t read the previous two books I would highly recommend you do before you start Deep Into Trouble as this isn’t a book you will understand otherwise.
IMAGE.
Just like the previous books, there is a huge amount of story going on with numerous POV’s, as well as dozens of characters some known and some new additions in the telling of this particular part of the story.
He couldn’t get personal with her, she was his witness…
Although enjoyable this is my least favourite of the series so far, but I only have one gripe really, in that I never really felt any connection between Saxon and Ginger until the very latter stages of the book, yes the sexy-times between them were hot, Dawn writes that really well, but together outside of that I really didn’t feel anything from them as a couple, they sort of went from zero to sixty without any real reasoning as to why initially.
"Think before you lie to me, Saxon Hale… No man crosses that line in my book."
Saxon has been a dark, secretive and brooding character throughout the story so far, and with the case against the elusive Raven and presidential nominee Carl Davis becoming more twisted, the last thing he is really looking to deal with is a witness that was in the wrong place, albeit at the right time in relation to his investigation, especially if said witness pulls all-sorts of emotions from him that he in the past has never really felt.
"I’m not a nice guy… There isn’t anything for you in my world except danger. You believe in happy-ever-afters, honey. They don’t exist in my world… I’m no good for you."
Ginger wasn’t afraid to stand up to our alpha hero in this respect, and I liked her sass with him on that front, Mr. Hale isn’t one used to anyone, especially women answering him back and questioning his actions. And around their fleeing the bad guys, things get more complex between Carl, turncoat Tyler Martin and Saxon’s boss, Kagan. Again I reiterate, you really need to read the previous books to understand what happens in this installment.
"You bring out the best in me."
As with all great Romantic Suspense series, while some questions are answered, others are raised, and more revelations are tossed into the mix, and I am looking forward to seeing which direction the fourth book; Take to the Limit (due for release in August) goes in relation to things that were revealed in the end stages of this story.
I also hope that the finished book is fully edited/spell-checked before publication as well, because there were a number of wrongly used words in the ARC, one had me chuckling for quite a while, when instead of resting her weight on her elbows, she used her eyebrows if true I think Ginger has huge potential as a circus performer in future books!

Deep Into Trouble is the third book in Dawn Ryder’s Unbroken Heroes series. It’s not imperative you follow the series order, but I think it helps. I didn’t, and I was a little lost at times.
The plot is fast-paced and full of action; this is definitely well-executed romantic suspense. Saxon and Ginger fell for each other hard and quickly -a little too insta-love for my tastes. Ginger’s a librarian and ordinary girl, but she held her own when she got swept into Saxon’s dangerous world. They had chemistry that translated into great sex. Deep Into Trouble is a sexy and suspenseful read. - Janet Reads Books
