I started this book and didn't want to put it down. Each time that I had to put it down to do something else I couldn't wait to get back to it, it was that good! I enjoyed the characters and the setting in wine country. I haven't read the first book in this series, but I'm putting at the top of my tbr list!
I will admit that this book surprised me. I wasn't sure that I would enjoy the premise of a wedding planner but found that I really liked this one.
The characters, the setting and the mystery kept me engaged until the end. You can't get much better than twists and turns and a killer that I didn't expect.
I am looking forward to additional books in this series!
I enjoyed this book, and the characters were all a lot of fun. I imagine that we will be seeing more of them in the future.
This was a lighthearted mystery with only a tiny thread of romance.
Though this wasn't a particularly intense mystery, it was far from predictable. I wasn't sure what was going to happen or who was responsible for the crimes. Because of this, it was fun following alongside Kelsey as she took the task of investigation on her.
I did kind of assume it was going to be much heavier on the romance (and from the first chapter I had guessed with the entirely wrong character oops) because it was about a wedding planner, but it was a relief to have a book about a girl who didn't necessarily find happiness through her own romance but was instead able to be genuinely awesome and take pleasure in helping other people with theirs.
I'm in love with Kelsey for her voice and her quick wit. I absolutely adored every interaction she had with the police; she's hilarious. I'm also in love with Laurel, and I love that the main character of this book ran her own business and still had an awesome assistant--normally books tend to be about the assistant and I hadn't realised how tired of a trope this was.
While I would have liked to see more travel, I really enjoyed the setting of San Francisco. Having lived there extensively myself, there were small details that really made me laugh and brought authenticity to this story. I also loved all the vineyards and experiencing all the wedding settings as Kelsey examined them.
This isn't the most novel or exciting book, but it was a solid read and I recommend it for anyone looking for something light that isn't necessarily a romance.
