I Hear Your Voice tells the story of alt-youth culture in South Korea as it manifests in motorcycle gangs. Specifically, it focuses on one of their leaders. A Christ-like figure, Jae feels the pain and happiness of the people and things that surround him - but given the abundance - mostly the pain. Born to an unknown homeless teen and raised by a patchwork cast before striking out on his own in adolescence, Jae develops his own sense of justice and being in the world. He gains a following with his 2 oldest friends Donggyu & Mokran. The group gains the attention of the police as they gather unprecedented numbers in motorcycle rallies that disrupt the entire city of Seoul. Couched in fiction, the story is based upon Jae's story as told to the author by an old friend and Donggyu himself leaving the reader to parse out the facts and draw their own conclusions.
