Dating The Undead is certainly not the usual vampire-human romance we’ve come to expect. In this world vampires are no longer a hidden mystery but out and about in society quite openly. The thought that the vampire’s mesmerizing talents are not used to find them the perfect match is endearing for thinking of a vampire on a dating site simply tickles my need to laugh out loud, in a good way.

Quite simply, I had such fun with this story. Logan is worthy of every swoon moment I had while reading his story. He’s old world, a bit of his heritage flows through in his words and actions. While he may have a particular job to fulfill with the dating site, it’s Silver who draws his attention in ways he never expected. Due to the life he’d lived because of his maker, Logan doesn’t expect good things. Silver is the exception to that rule of his life and he has no intention of letting this beauty get away. He may not have expected to find a life mate on a dating site, but giving up Silver now is out of the question.

Silver is… gosh, she’s so unlike any other heroine I’ve read. She’s got absolutely no filter from her thoughts to her mouth… none. She’s witty, full of snarky banter and she takes no crap from anyone. (there is one other character from a Shifter series that even comes close to Silver’s way of speaking her mind without thought or care) From the first scene to the very last word I simply adored this character. Although she may at times seem to have a death wish, her own personal knight is there to protect her. (and I didn’t overlook the obvious delight at her name as pertaining to vampires either – that brought about a startled chuckle)

All this lighthearted fun is not to say that there aren’t some very dark moments in Dating The Undead. There are definitely villains afoot, mysteries to solve and danger to avoid if possible. There were some twists that didn’t truly make sense for me, however, I’m reminded that this is the first in a series so those may play out further down the series line.

In all, Dating The Undead is a fun, secy, dangerous take on the vampire lore and the dating site scene. I would definitely recommend this story for any Paranormal Romance, Romantic Comedy or even Romantic Suspense reader. A solid story, a villain to hate, sensuous moments, interesting secondary characters and a world that is easy to fall into and believe what happens there. That’s pretty much what I expect from a really good Paranormal Romance. Now comes the wait for the next story in this series, due I believe sometime in the Fall of 2017. Definitely looking forward to continuing this series.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This was such a fun read! DATING THE UNDEAD is the first book in Juliet Lyons new paranormal series, The Undead Dating Service Series. The series title tells readers exactly what it's about, a dating service for vampires and humans. I really enjoyed this one. It was a fun and sexy romance that had me smiling, rooting for the characters and flipping the pages. I'm adding this author to my buy list and I'll be grabbing the next book when it releases. I recommend this series for paranormal lovers looking for a fun new vampire series.

Dating the Undead was a contemporary romance but with vampires. And it was fun and sexy and totes fangy.

There is a good amount of vampire lore in the book, but it's shared in a way that it doesn't get boring or get a "let's look back in history" vibe. I loved both main characters, Logan and Silver. They were edgy and entertaining. Plus, their chemistry was so fun. I just really enjoyed this book. I can not wait for the next book in the series. And now all I want to read is paranormal romance.

Dating the Undead started strong. There was humor, fun characters, a quirky storyline, hot sex, some intrigue… But after the hot sex happened, it just sort of stalled and I got bored quickly. Definitely worth a read because I like different and this is a new twist on vampires with the dating website and all…

If you enjoy PNR that isn’t like all other PNR, with some wit and humor, check this one out.

Holy smokes, this book is sizzling hot! It had two things that will instantly make me love a book: snarky tough chick and sexy vampires.

Silver (I know, you get over the name) is still reeling from her latest dramatic breakup on New Year's Eve when she finds herself face-to-face with a super sexy vampire. Yes, in this world vampires are "out of the coffin," but that doesn't mean they are universally loved. Silver, however, is willing to take a walk on the wild side, especially since this vampire is giving her more chemistry than her latest date. This unlikely couple ends up being the key component to both their worlds, whether they want it to or not.

For Logan (the sexy vampire), it appears that Silver is somehow linked to a police undercover operation that he has been tasked with forcibly removing from her memory. After their meeting, however, it is simply impossible for him to do so. Silver, for her part, hides her own secrets from Logan, while continuing to live in denial where there relationship is concerned. Oh, and there's a bad guy (or girl, rather) that's looming over Logan's head (more secrets). I think that about sums up the odds against them. Of course, I loved every second!

If you're looking for a super sexy and super smutty paranormal read - you'll love rooting for this unlikely (and completely snarky) couple. I couldn't get enough of Logan and Silver, flaws and all.

A very unique story. After catching her boyfriend with another girl, Silver has had it with men. Then she meets sexy vampire Logan who sweeps her off her feet and had their first kiss on New Years eve . It's fun, sexy, and full of surprises.book.. There are steamy hot scenes as well. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Silver and Logan, a vampire, meet and kiss on New Year ’s Eve. As a result, Silver decides to join a dating site that is for vampires. Unfortunately, it’s not really working out for her. The police have a proposition for her that she accepts and suddenly Logan is back in her life and things get a little sticky.

Silver is not my favorite heroine. She annoyed me and it felt like she tried too hard to be a tough chick and it just didn’t work. Logan was a pretty decent hero but not really all alpha the way I like. I struggled with this one for the first half but the second half seemed to smooth out and I was suddenly very invested in this couple and their situation.

Told in dual POV it moved pretty well, especially the last fifty percent. There is no abuse or triggers to speak of unless violence by and to vampires isn’t your thing.

5☆  Dating with Bite

When I see the cover for Dating the Undead I loved it... the blurb was exciting.
It didn't disappoint!

The whole concept for a vampire dating site where humans and Vamps can meet & mix is fantastic... it's fresh, and so different from the "normal" dark vampire books.

V-Date is the name of the Vampire dating service.
However it does attract attention from all kinds of people... including those with influencing power! As to why they have an interest.... well all will be revealed!

So when Silver joins up to meet her Vamp, she never believes she will meet Logan again.
He's sexy, hot and intriguing!
Both feel a connection instantly..... was it by chance Logan is to meet Silver again or just fate??

Dating the Undead kept me hooked the whole way through.
There is so much packed into the first book it's exciting, plenty of twists to keep the reader enthralled.
Lots of chance encounters, plenty of risks, an undercover plot, sizzling passion and sexy vamps.... what more could you need!

I loved Silver, she has a lot of determination and isn't scared easily. Her fear of nothing often got her into plenty of mishaps which was great!
She was the perfect female lead. Her character had me laughing out loud many times throughout the book, with her no filter, Witty attitude.

Logan was everything you want from a sexy vamp. He was mysterious, but had a kind heart, he oozes masculinity, yet he was charming, and the spark between Silver and Logan was sizzling.
Plenty of steamy sex scenes to get your pulses racing!

Can't wait for book 2. I have a strong feeling this series is going to be a big hit!

Would I recommend this book...... 100% YES!!!

A fresh and exciting new Vamp book. I love reading new vampire books with a difference.
This one is no exception it has it all a mix of fresh new Vamp action and the charms of the old school vamp ie, glamourising humans to forget!

I Recommend to readers who love Vampire books, fantasy, Paranormal Romances, Stong lead characters.

This is a great book; this is the first book in the V-Date.com series written by Juliet Lyons. When Silver Harris kisses sexy Irish vampire Logan Byrne on New Year's Eve, she knows other humans just won't suffice. Convinced she'll never see him again, she joins the uber-popular vampire dating site, V-Date.com. What Silver doesn't know is that the site is more dangerous than she could ever imagined, and soon she's in over her head. When Logan returns, sparks fly and attraction sizzles, but they'll have to escape some very real demons if they have any chance of lasting forever. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Sammy’s review of Dating the Undead (Undead Dating Service, Book 1) by Juliet Lyons
Paranormal Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 02 May 17

I have been on a Vampire book binge lately. This book looked promising and I have never read this author. I figured I would give it a chance, and with a blurb by Katie MacAlister, it was a no-brainer. I have been on such a winning streak reading new-to-me authors, I was very excited to dive right in. Unfortunately, this book was just not my cup of tea. I only read 25% of the book and skimmed the last few chapters. I’m really glad I didn’t force myself to read it to the end, because the ending would have had me throw my precious Paperwhite against my stone fireplace.

Silver Harris is at a bar with her date on New Year’s Eve when her date ditches her for another chick, and she was having none of that. A big scene is made and she storms off, stealing someone’s Chanel coat and forgetting her purse inside. As she runs out of the bar, she bumps into the very handsome Logan Byrne, who happens to be a vampire. He knows she stole the coat and goes in to retrieves her purse for her. They share some banter and he walks her home. Of course, there are some drunk guys being rowdy, making lewd remarks, and Logan, the very old gentleman vampire, is having none of that. Let me make note that Silver has red hair and she’s sassy. When I typed that, I rolled my eyes up into my head. Silver is very sarcastic, and at times I really thought sassy was the wrong descriptor. Her tongue is probably equipped with barbed wire, the red hair just added to the cliche. I just didn’t like Silver from the moment she stole the coat. She’s petty and mean. Silver and Logan do share a hot kiss and that kept me semi-interested.

Logan is a low-key vampire. He’s lived for hundreds of years and he chooses to live in a hovel, because it’s where he was raised and reminds him of his human life. He also has a Sire he has to answer to. The big bad vampire owns a bar where humans go to be the appetizers. These vampire bites are very addictive and it’s a lucrative business. So is the V-Dating website where humans can hook up with vampires. While Logan is off the page, Silver is really into the bite Logan gave her and her sister talks her into joining the V-Dating site. After she fills out her profile, she hooks up with another vamp and lets him bite her. The next day at her job, the police show up wanting her to be a snitch about how the vampires work. Meanwhile, Logan’s Sire knows that they are sniffing around and tells Logan to open an account and check out what’s going on with that website.

Finally, Logan and Silver are back on the same page and they meet up. She’s playing coy and hard to get, yet she lets him into her apartment when they start to get frisky and we are in Logan’s head.

“When I look down and see my swollen manhood thrusting in her exquisite, ivory hand, I lose it completely. Shouting her name as I fall apart, I hold her to me, burying my face in her hair.”

Swollen manhood just doesn’t work for me. I mean, we are in 2017 and I don’t care how old this vampire is or what nationality, swollen manhood is just a big NO. Just yuck. He now how his hands down her panties and her phone rings and instead of letting it go to voicemail, she answers. It turns out to be her childhood friend Ollie. She tells Ollie that she was still coming to see him and Logan tells her she’ll be coming all over his face. Ollie is asking her who’s there and she tells him it’s the television and hangs up. Logan asks her who Ollie is and she asks him if he’s jealous, then he plays it off like it’s no biggie.

“I scoff. Jealous? Me? What could he possibly have that I don’t?” She shrugs. “A heartbeat.” I slap a hand playfully to my chest, as if mortally wounded. “Low blow, Silver. Even for you.” She stands swinging her arms beside her. “I should get ready.” It’s hard to believe that only moments ago, her hand was in my pants as I unraveled around her. The air has turned fifty shades of awkward.”

After this I had enough. I can honestly say I just couldn’t stand Silver. I skimmed to the end chapters and after reading how things ended, no, no, no, no. Not for me. I like my immortals to stay immortal. Of course, your mileage may vary.

Dumped by her date and thrown out of a New Year’s Eve party, Silver Harris is feeling down on herself. Then she meets a charming vampire on the way home and they share a memorable New Year’s kiss. But Silver doesn’t get his name, much less a phone number. So, hoping to find him again, she signs up with the vampire dating site V-Date.com.

The London police have a plan to use the site to gather intel on vampires, who while out to the public are still not big on sharing, and they plan to recruit Silver to spy for them. But the vampires are on to the plan and Logan Byrne is sent to glamour the informant before she can pass on any details. Of course, the spy turns out to be the woman he kissed on New Year’s Eve and hasn’t been able to get out of his head.

Dating the Undead is not the first instance of a supernatural dating service I’ve ever read about, but it certainly used it in an interesting way. That basically sums up how I felt about the vampires too. Their powers are more or less what you’d expect, but there’s just enough newness in the mythos, mostly involving how they’re turned, to keep it feeling fresh.

I really enjoyed Logan and Silver’s whirlwind romance. Her quirky personality and her oddball family make the story lots of fun until all the serious vampire business intrudes. Yeah, I totally saw that part coming. What I didn’t predict was how their HEA would come about—I pretty much had it backward.

I did have a few issues with the story though. The goal of the police investigation isn’t really clear and Silver’s role sounds more like an undercover cop than a civilian informant. And there was really no plot-related reason for Silver to work in a jewelry store, so it would have made so much more sense for her to work in with the police department in some capacity. There’s also some backstory involving Silver’s mother that didn’t quite work for me.

But overall I thought Dating the Undead was a fun way to get a quick paranormal romance fix. (I have sudden vampire cravings sometimes. Don’t you?) I’d certainly be willing to read more in the series.

This was an ok read. I really couldn't root for Silver, she wasn't that likable at times. The chemistry seemed off since she was lying to him throughout most of the story. It was well written, had some humorous and hot moments.

It’s Bridget Jones with vampires in this fresh and funny paranormal romance from debut author Juliet Lyons

That blurb really does a good job of giving the feel of this book.

It is a little fun, a little sexy with a little mystery thrown in for good measure. Silver is awesome! Loved her spunk and inner voice and she can kick butt when needed. Logan has such a sad and tragic past before meeting Silver, from his start in life to becoming a vampire. I loved the ending for the two of them, I thought it was perfect a wove the story complete. Silver and Logan have great chemistry too. The suspense and mystery's that are going on throughout the story with regards to Silver's mom and with the V-Date.com were unique and fun to read.

Loved the story and cannot wait to read more by this Author!

Read me my Miranda rights because I'm DANGEROUS!

I think I'm going to lurk around corners on New Year's Eve and offer my neck to devilishly handsome vampires. Haven’t you heard?... It's a thing now.

We first meet Silver Harris on New Year's Eve. Her date is snogging some trumpet *snort* so she justifiably kicks him in the groin and gets kicked out of the party. I'm surprised she doesn't Carrie Underwood his car... oooh but I'm sure she's thinking about it! She doesn't need him anyways. What Silver needs is to find a quick, easy, no-strings-attached fling. Lucky for her she doesn’t have to look far because her "New Year's kiss" finds her. Goodbye tall, dark, and blandsome. Hello Logan Byrne!

Logan Byrne --

Sorry, I lost my train of thought because I PASSED OUT. *fanning face*

Logan Byrne is a VampyVamp hunk of a man. Too bad he’s just looking for a fling. Oh wait… so is Silver! What a coinkydink! Except... after having a taste of Silver Harris, Logan is officially transfixed; he suddenly doesn’t want short-term.

So now we have Logan - this dreamy specimen - chasing after Silver who doesn’t want commitment. Aye! The conundrum. She can still look, though…

"If he’s going to cruise the streets looking this sexy, he should expect a violent eye assault or two."

After the thrill of meeting Logan, Silver decides that dating vampires might bring her some much needed excitement. She registers for a dating site called V-Date where VampyVamps and humans mingle. 😏 Finally she can date and have no strings attached! Because who in their right mind would ever think a vampire and human could work long-term? (Answer: Logan)

“'I mean, you were making all kinds of noises. It sounded like you enjoyed it.' Oh great. He’s clingy."

Silver just shouldn’t date. Period.

Entering: our major conflict.

Logan's job is to chase down suspicious humans on V-Date because there are rumors the police are using its users to gather information...

Uh-oh… it looks like Silver is going to have some more interactions with Hotty-Drink-My-Blood. Wait… Silver isn’t working with the police, right? How are Silver and Logan going to build a relationship if she’s using V-Date the entire time spying for the popos? Talk about betrayal! Isn’t drama what Silver was trying to avoid in the first place?

And who is this Anastasia woman who thinks she has rights over Logan? Is she going to expose his little... err-“fling” with Silver and amplify this mess?

Things just went from bad to worse and what started as an innocent romance is now much much more.

"Would Anastasia have told him already? Is he suspicious that the report of my happiness with a human has coincided with my mission?"

Dating the Undead is riveting, lyrical, and totally captivating. Silver unintentionally steps into a world of trouble and Logan’s unconditional love for her keeps her alive. You know how it goes: an eye for an eye, a life for a life. Logan gives it all in order to protect Silver. Two people with their minds elsewhere end up on the same path to heartache. Juliet Lyons, spare me!

"Whatever he’s done in the past, whoever he works for, I know I’ll never have it like this with anyone else. Ever."

Sacrafice, temptation, and fate. Juliet Lyons paints us an impeccable portrait of unexpected love. Let’s not even talk about the dreamy ax man waiting to hack away at our hearts! Dating the Undead is. life.

Gaawd just gargle my blood, already! *waiting waiting* 🙄

'Dating The Undead' by Juliet Lyons is book One in the "V-Date.Com" series. This is the story of Silver and Logan.
Silver and Logan happen to meet on New Year's eve when Silver is kicked out of a bar and Logan was coming by. They talk and they 'kiss'. Logan asks for her name but he doesn't give his. Silver knows he is a Vampire and thinks the bind blowing 'kiss' was because he was a vampire.
This was a good vampire romance story.

Didn't live up to the premise. Humorous, but bordering on mean. Heroine trashes other women. Deus ex machina ending.
