This is a wonderful addition to the Blessings, Georgia Book series. When I received an invitation from the publisher to read and review A Piece of My Heart, I eagerly accepted. I had read Saving Jake, another book in this series, some time ago, so I already was familiar with Ms. Sala. This book is a delight to read!

Mercy Dane has no memory of her family. Now an adult, she is no longer involved in the foster care system and glad of it. When she receives a call on Christmas Day to donate her rare blood to save an accident victim, she jumps on her motorcycle and races to Blessings. Never in a million years did she expect to find the victim is her long-lost sister, one she had no knowledge of. A further surprise is finding out the police chief is the same man who comforted her when her apartment was broken into years before.

Lon Pittman has never forgotten the young woman he helped several years before. When he finds her at the hospital, he’s prepared to rein a riot act on her for reckless driving, instead, he is stunned to see Mercy Dare again and to learn she has just saved a close friend’s life.

When Mercy returns to Blessings to be with her new-found sister, Lon is determined to earn her trust and love. Will he be able to convince her to give him a chance, or will her past keep her from giving him her love and trust?

I thoroughly enjoyed A Piece of My Heart from beginning to end. The romance is sweet, the characters are delightful, and the plot is realistic. I’m so glad I had a chance to read this amazing story. The ending is one of the best I have read in a while, and the suspenseful elements are “grab onto your seat and hold on.”

Mercy is an endearing character. She has not had an easy time of it, having grown up in the foster care system, shuffled from one foster home to another until she aged out. This did not keep her from caring for other people. I was so glad to see her find her much deserved happy ending, not only with Lon but with her sister, Hope, as well.

Lon Pittman is a great hero. I loved his gentleness with Mercy, which in no way diminished his masculinity. He’s an all-around good guy dedicated to keeping the folks in Blessing safe, be it a runaway girl or a child caught in a flood.

If you enjoy small-town USA novels with a great array of characters with wonderful American values, then you will love A Piece of My Heart as much as I did. This is a good series and does not need to be read in order. Happy reading!

A Piece of My Heart by Sharon Sala is the 4th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series. Having read and enjoyed the earlier books, I thought that A Piece of My Heart was the best one yet. An awesome story all the way through.

Mercy Dane, our heroine, grew up in various foster homes, not really having a family. She works in a bar as a waitress to be able to pay her bills, and drives a motor cycle. One night, she gets a call to give her rare type blood to an accident victim in Blessings, Georgia. Lon Pittman is the Chief of Police in Blessings, and follows a blur passing by at high speed on a motor cycle. When he arrives at the hospital, he finds out why the need for speed. Once Lon sees Mercy, he recognizes her from a number of years ago, when he helped her; and they had a one night stand. Lon has not forgotten her, and immediately feels a rekindling of attraction to Mercy.
The accident victim was Hope Talbot, who desperately needs blood to survive. Her husband and brother in law are in the waiting area, when they meet the women who is helping her. They both notice a tattoo on Mercy, and the resemblance to Hope, who lost her sister years before in the foster care system. Mercy becomes nervous when they ask her to submit a DNA test, and heads back to Savannah. In a short time, Mercy will discover that is indeed her sister, and will return to Blessings.

What follows is a beautiful emotional storyline that will change Mercy’s life for the better. She will finally find herself with a family, and seeing Hope and Mercy meet again was very emotional. Love was something Mercy did not allow herself to feel, until she finds herself becoming more trusting and happy. The town of Blessings has also opened their heart to the women who saved Hope, and who also is a great baker, and thinks nothing of putting herself on the line when helping others.

Lon and Mercy’s romance is fun and sweet, as they both fall in love quickly. Once Mercy accepts she is part of a family, with a new job she loves, she will openly accept Lon as the man she wants to spend her life with. There were a number of emotional moments, especially near the end that almost brought us to tears. This is a fabulous small town romances, a wonderful couple, and a sweet storyline revolving around a young girl whose hard life changed dramatically. A Piece of My Heart was a wonderful read, written so very well by Sharon Sala.

Sharon Sala continues her Blessings, Georgia series with another title sure to please fans, although readers new to the series would do better to start with book one. While the titles do stand alone, they also intertwine enough on some characters to make more sense when read in order.

I love Sharon Sala romances. This story is part of the Blessings, Georgia series and a revisit to the Curl and Dye is always fun. Marcy is a product of a dysfunctional foster care system and when she saves an accident victim they are stunned to discover they are sisters. Marcy is also delighted to find the chief of police is Lonnie, the man she left years ago because she was afraid of commitment. A great story that makes you happy to be back in Blessings.

I hadn't realized that I read another book in this series, which turned out to be a lovely coincidence. Which was ironic considering this book starts with the whopper of all coincidences.

I loved this story- reunited sisters, romance, suspense and danger...this book has it all. Sala wrote a winner!

Mercy Dane has been on her own her whole life. Raised in the foster care system she has no family and doesn't trust easily. She works in a bar to earn a living and bakes for the bar as another source of income.
Mercy has a rare blood type and on Christmas Day is called to do an emergency blood donation to save a woman's life. This act will change Mercys life forever.

This book is part of the Blessings Georgia series. I love the Blessings series and would recommend any of the books in the series. If you are looking for a feel good romance set in a small town this is the series for you. There is a colorful cast of characters and humor throughout the book. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
