I’ve been a keen follower of the Exodus series for a while now and I was looking forward to the latest instalment. It didn’t disappoint. The action was edge-of-your-seat thrilling, especially towards the end, with several threats facing the Exodus mission. Some very intriguing subplots were introduced, and I look forward to reading more about these in the next book.

As for the romance storyline, it was fairly secondary to the action. The chemistry between Thea and Caya was obvious in the previous book so I was really happy to hear this third book would focus on them. However I felt like they hardly spent any time together and their relationship developed rather suddenly.

Gun Brooke has managed to weave together a great tale. Plenty of adventure and fast paced thriller with emotion and love all mixed into one

This is book 3 of Gun Brooke's sci fi series. I haven't read the first two, but I have to say that after reading this one, I am planning on reading books 1&2. I think Gun is a master storyteller as I have read most of her other books. This book is a solid romance with the sci fi flare. I highly recommend it to sci fi fans as well as lesfic fans. All will enjoy the characters and plot. Thanks Gun for another awesome read!!

As with book two I give this one 3 1/2 stars, I liked both main characters, and I'm a sucker for age gap romances, so those were the pluses. On the minus side, Caya learns a lot about Thea (literally) but all Thea seems to know about Caya is that she's a Changer, that she's clairvoyant, and that she's 'mesmerising', which doesn't seem that much to build a relationship on.

I actually found the action/intrigue in this one a bit tiresome, especially towards the end where it was non-stop for chapter after chapter. There were also sub-plots that just seemed to go nowhere (Thea's husbands book for instance) but as this is part of a longer series, maybe they'll pop up again.

In any event this is an ok addition to the series, and keeps it moving along. It'll be interesting to see what happens now that all the characters will be on the new planet.

I simply love this series! As a sci-fi/romance, it is interesting as well as full of excitement. Having read the first two books in the series, I was eagerly awaiting the third book. “Escape…” did not disappointment me. The ending of the book leads me to believe that there may be another book in the series. I only wish that Ms. Brooke could write faster so that I would not have to wait so long between books.

Ms. Brooke has created characters that are rich with emotions. Her creativity in the sci-fi story line is great. As a reader, you are immediately drawn into rooting for the characters to succeed.

I give this book 5 stars out of 5. One would have to enjoy sci-fi in order to appreciate this book. It is a fast, well written book.

This is the third book in the Exodus series, in which the inhabitants of Oconodos must flee their planet looking for another one that might accommodate them. In the first two books and also in this third one, while we go with the different characters in his journey, we discover parts of the situation that has led them to leave their planet.
So far is the first book of the series that I have liked the most, although the second and third book I have enjoyed reading also. I look forward to the following book.

These books just keep getting better. I really enjoyed this one. It was exciting, to say the least. With each book being better than the last, I have formed an attachment to this series. I feel it can be hard to find good quality lesfic sci-fi, so I'm happy with how this series has developed.

This book is mostly about Caya, a changer who sees the future, and the president Thea. Thea has been keeping Caya under protection. Caya sees it as a prison. Thea only wants to keep Caya safe, but with terrorists trying to destroy their ship, Caya might be in more danger than even Thea can imagine.

In book 2, it is obvious there is a bit of a connection forming between Caya and Thea. I was not surprised at all to see that connection grow in this book. Can you say age-gap? I'm not sure but I believe Thea is in her mid 40's compared to Caya at 20. It is one of the bigger gaps I can remember, and I'm surprised to see that it worked as much as it did. Caya feels like Thea is keeping her as a prisoner, so there was a real frustration, love/hate thing going on. For me it helped produce some chemistry, and I wanted them to be together. I must admit, in this whole series, the characters are quick to go from like to love. This book was a bit of the same, except they went from annoyance to like to love. Maybe that extra step helped me more, but I found myself enjoying their relationship.

What this book was also great on, is excitement. I felt at times I could hardly catch my breath with so much happening. I thought book 2 was entertaining and filled with action, this book was even more. It is easy for me to say that this is the most enjoyable book of the series.

I would recommend this book to sci-fi fans and Gun Brooke fans. This book is very intertwined with book 2, so don't read this without reading that one. I really enjoyed this and can't wait for book 4. Brooke put a tease at the end, so we know more books are coming. The only hard part now is to wait.

An ARC was given to me by Bold Strokes Books, for a honest review.

While I am generally quite eager to delve into a volume by Ms. Brooke, specifically those which venture into more traditional spheres thematically like "The Blush Factor" and "Speed Demons," I have not been nearly as absorbed by the Exodus series. This latest entry, “Escape,” was crafted from a very interesting premise-a young woman with an extraordinary ability who is sheltered to ensure her protection, broader interstellar unrest and a romantic partner whose interests are divided, however, the published product was far less satisfying to engage with. While I became familiar with Caya’s tale in “Pathfinder,” the actual volume which focused on her journey lacked the complexity and plot depth that has typified much of the author’s earlier work. The romance felt clumsily handled and did not fulfill the expectations that were formed about the nature of the engagement between the two protagonists, specifically in smaller intimate moments, in the first two entries of the series. Ms. Brooke clearly has a great grasp on the science fiction genre-The Supreme Constellations quartet is evidence of those capacities-that has become muddled by world building that is attempting to do too much, the scope might be better served by a narrowed focus.
