Macey, you just feel so much for her. You just have your heart ripped out for her when she's in the casino. Enter Finn. Well Finn, is all mascueline. He is wonderful. The story reminded me a little of the movie Pretty Woman, but without Macey being a hooker. (lol) I enjoyed reading this book.
Finn and Macy run into each other when Macey is trying to double her money to make a better life for herself and her daughter. Finn is the owner of 3 hotels and is all about money and women and has a few rules. After 10 yrs of separation Finn is finding it hard to be away from Macey and trying figure out who she is. Macey is determined to keep her daughter a secret from him cause she afraid.
Heidi McLaughlin is an accomplished author and most of the time she delivers. This was an ok read but it wasn't my favorite.
I liked the fact the mom was trying to be the best mom for her daughter... even when she was in a difficult situation,.
The guy was typical rich and needed to be better in understanding what this woman had gone through.
I read a free copy of this book and this is my honest opinion. I loved the book. Macey and Finn are a great couple. They need to overcome some blockers to make it but they do.
Stripped Bare was definitely hot! I could not wait to get my hands on this book, and I was not disappointed. Heidi has a way of telling a story that draws the reader in from the first page and doesn't let go until the last, and Finn and Macey's story was one of those. Macey is trying to make end last meet by working two jobs in order to support herself and her daughter, one of which is as a stripper. Finn is a successful hotel and casino owner in Vegas, which is where they run into each other ten years after high school. I loved everything about this book, and I can't wait for more in the series.
I am going to admit, I had very low expectations for this book based on the blurb. I should have known better than to read the blurb and go to myself “Oh, this book is going to interesting (insert sarcasm here) to read”. I really should have known better…sigh.
Instead of getting two people just banging each other for the entire book and then “falling in love”, there was a story. And the love part of the story, which mainly took part over two weeks, was drawn out. Sure there was sex and sure it was mind-blowing but that wasn’t the whole story.
My heart did break for Macey during the book. She really got the short end of the stick in life. She got pregnant at 17 after a one night stand at a party, dropped out of high school to have her daughter and restored to stripping at night and waiting tables during the day to help pay the rent and keep a roof over her, her mother’s and her daughter’s head. She felt stuck because she couldn’t make enough money to move out of her mother’s apartment and she was upset because while she was working, her mother took care of Morgan, her daughter. Well if you called getting drunk and having strange men over all the time watching her. Macey feels awful because she has told Morgan to hide in the closet if strange men came over and that is not a way for a child to live. She also lives in fear that Children’s Services will eventually show up at her door and take Morgan away.
So, when she is told about how stripping in Las Vegas is so much better than stripping in the town she lives in, Macey decides to jump at the chance. She is desperate to get Morgan out of that living situation and feels that she has no other option but to go strip in Las Vegas. What a hard situation to be in and then to find out that when she went to the paternal grandmother for help, only to have the door slammed in her face, made it unbearable.
Finn, however, was a jerk in the beginning. When he saw Macey playing blackjack, he not only recognizes her as someone from his hometown but he tells Lamarr, his best friend, that he thinks he slept with her back before he went away to college and he pegs her as a stripper and maybe an escort. He then gets punched by Macey as she is leaving the casino in tears because she lost all the money that she earned. When he follows her, he propositions her. One week with him, doing what even he wants, when he wants for $30,000.
I found it funny that he assumed that Morgan was either Macey’s boyfriend or pimp. And I found it very ironic that Lamarr knew who Morgan was and if Finn had just asked, he would have known sooner and wouldn’t have put Macey through the wringer about it. I have to give her credit, though, she put up with his crap until the end and only because she needed the money.
Macey did get on my nerves, though, when she was dealing with Brandy. For such a strong woman, she was pretty weak about confronting Brandy and calling her out. She never thought to go to Finn and see if he actually said or did the things that Brandy said he did. She would just run back to the penthouse and cry about it until he came back and he explained things. Uggh.
I will say that the sex was very hot. Off the pages hot. I also liked that safe sex (because you know, I have nothing better to do with my life than worry about fictional characters sex lives) was used until almost the end. But by then, a lot of things had changed between Macey and Finn.
Like I said above, I thought the storyline was pretty reminiscent of Pretty Woman….except that Macey wasn’t a hooker, she was a stripper and she had a kid.
The storylines were wrapped up pretty good. I loved that Brandy got what was coming to her. I was in bed by the time I read that scene and I did a double fist pump. She was put in her place and then some!!!
I did figure out who Morgan’s father was by the middle of the book. I mean, the author didn’t try to hide it or throw red herrings out. So when it was revealed who it was, I was like “Yes” and “What’s next”.
The end of the book was a pretty standard HEA and the author made me jealous with the vacation location….lol.
How many stars will I give Stripped Bare: 4
Why: This was a hot read with a good but predictable plot. What I really liked is how strong Macey was. I also did like Finn towards the end of the book but I did think he was a jerk at the beginning.
Will I reread: Yes
Will I recommend to family and friends: Yes but with a warning about explicit sex.
Age range: Adult
Why: Explicit sex and language

This is the first book in the new Vegas Billionaire series by Heidi McLaughlin and I felt it was a solid first offering.
Macey Webster has been down on her luck for as long as she can remember. She grew up on the "wrong side of the tracks" and has always had to worry about not only having a safe roof over her head, but also where her next meal might come from. Since she had her daughter Morgan, she's wanted nothing but to give her daughter the life that she's never had. In order to do that, she's having to make some difficult decisions on how to bring in the money needed to move them to a safe place. Having starting stripping to bring in the money needed, Macey learns of an opportunity to go to Las Vegas for a week to make some quick cash. She entrusts Morgan's care to her friend Steph and heads to Sin City.
Finn McCormick is no stranger to women and one-night stands. He's sworn off relationships, love and entanglements. The last person he expects to encounter playing blackjack at the casino is a woman he had a one-night stand with back in high school. When he realizes she's lost every cent playing the card game, he makes an offer that shocks him and that she can't refuse - he wants her to do whatever he wants for a week and he'll pay her handsomely. With Morgan to support at home, Macey knows that while the last person she really wants to get involved with is Finn, she knows he's likely the answer to the financial quandary she's been in.
As Macey and Finn spend more time together, feelings begin to emerge, but will either one of them be able to, or want to, face them? Or will Macey still hold a grudge from so many years ago and will she try to turn the tables on him?
I enjoyed this book and think the Heidi McLaughlin did a great job telling this story. I'm looking forward to the next offering in the series!
loved the book and can't wait to read more from this author
I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. A new Heidi book always makes me giddy. Some will say this is a take on Pretty Woman and some may say it’s a take on Cinderella but I have to say it has some qualities of both but it’s a story of its own. It’s so much more. Stripped Bare was explosively hot and I devoured it.
Finn was a rich a$$. But he was a sexy a$$ and I couldn’t get enough of him and his angry unicorn. He was your typical male only wanting one-night stands and unlimited pu**y. Macey was a single mom just trying to make a better life for her daughter. Their chemistry was instant and scorching. Together they were combustible.
Heidi weaved a compelling story with intriguing characters full of sexiness with a twist. It’s a romance story with a little angst and a lot of hotness.
I love this book. A modern Cinderella fairytales. Beautiful love story. Macey make sacrifice for her daughter and Finn want to help. The power of love.
A Vegas billionaire novel where there is a second chance between Finn McCormick and Macey Webster. It's funny, sexy an sweet in all the right places. For me it was a take on pretty woman which is why I loved this book and had to read it in one go an couldn't put down lol can't wait for more of these books by Heidi McLaughlin and would totally recommend this book, you won't be disappointed I promise

I'm so sorry but this book isn't for me. I have no complains on the writing style, it's just that the characters annoyed the crap out of me.
Life is tough for Macey Webster. She's a single mother with a 10 year old daughter - Morgan and works as a waitress by day and a stripper by night. In the small town she lives, her earnings are not enough and she wants a bright future and a comfortable life. Her co-worker encouraged her to go to Las Vegas for a week because the pay / salary and tips are twice better. Things are good in Vegas until she lost all her money due to gambling and timely saved by an arrogant, rich guy Finn McCormick when he hired her as his beck and call. She didn't expect to see her long time crush after all these years since high school. As much as possible she didn't want this kind of job but she'll do it for her daughter and her dreams. Hopefully, she'll find a prince charming who will cherish and love her. The problem is, he's not into relationships and she doesn't know how to tell him the truth after their last encounter.
I may be slightly irritated with Macey for gambling her money (I won't take that risk if I were her.) but I applaud her sacrifices, perseverance and being a selfless mother. I ABSOLUTELY HATE FINN TO THE MOON AND BACK. He's a pompous jerk and I cannot stand his insults on Macey. He made her feel cheap which I find disrespectful. How dare he belittle her for being a stripper and assume she sleeps around men? That hit below the belt to me and I don't find any redeeming qualities on him. Macey deserves better than him.
Sizzling HOT! Strong characters, an engaging story, and the Vegas strip as a backdrop make this a must read for true romance junkies!
Finn is a billionaire who thinks money is everything and Macey is a single mom who can't afford a place to live. So Finn has a proposition for Macey and they both get more than they bargained for. What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. Erotic romance fun!
Holy hotness, the sex scenes in this book are very explicit and well written. Plus it has a great story line too.
Stripped Bare...WOW....What a fun read in this Second chance romance with a Pretty Woman flare. Macey a mom at seventeen, raising her now ten year old daughter is desperate to provide more for Morgen than she has growing up. Living with her alcoholic mother and working as a waitress during the day and stripper at night is told of more opportunities if she were to go to Las Vegas she could hopefully get her and Morgen a home of their own in a safer part of town..
Finn left him home town to attend UNLV in Las Vegas and never left. He has become a huge success on his own and has the life and women to prove it. Finn never plans to settle down and if he did there is a line of women waiting to catch the successful millionaire.
After spending some time in Vegas earning money stripping Macey finds herself in Allure Finn's Hotel. This is where their second chance romance begins, they both want to and knew each other from the same hometown. After only one night together they don't see each other again until she takes a huge risk and finds herself in a situation that has Finn and Macey together for a week. This story is fun and charming. You will discover secrets, manipulation and love in this book and it written to fall for no only Finn and Macey but her adorable daughter Morgan as well.
The book is easily a five star read, written in dual POV and flows page after page to keep any reader interested.
you will fall in love with the characters in this book from the very first page. This is an amazing story that will have you reading long into the night. I just couldn't put this book down till id finished it and I was left wanting more and more. This book has plenty of hot steamy scenes. This author has a fab way of bringing you amazing characters mixed with an amazing story that will keep you hooked.
Highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book
I enjoyed this book. I have read all books by this author, she never disappoints, that being said, this was not my favorite of hers, but if you enjoy this author you will wan to read this one too.
Heidi McLaughlin's Stripped Bare is a classic take on Pretty Woman.
In Stripped Bare, single mom Macey works as a waitress during the day and a stripper at night to provide for her ten year old daughter. However, despite her best efforts, the money is just not cutting it. Encouraged by a co-worker to go to Vegas to work for a week, Macey finds herself making more money in a week than she ever did back home in Spokane. Lured by the lights and sounds of the casino, and the memories of playing blackjack when she was younger, Macey decides to try her luck at doubling her money before leaving Vegas. When she busts, a distraught and visibly upset Macey, gets up from the blackjack table and runs, literally, into Finn McCormick. Finn and Macey are from the same home town and hooked up at a party ten years ago. After their night together all those years ago, Finn dropped Macey off at her house on the wrong side of the streets and she never heard from Finn again.
Finn remembers hooking up with Macey all those years ago, but can't remember her name. From a well off family, Finn graduated from UNLV and went on to become a millionaire and the owner of two Vegas casinos, including the one he finds Macey in, and is in the process of acquiring another property to develop. He's on his way to becoming a billionaire before the age of 30.
By the way she is dressed, Finn accurately pegs Macey as a stripper and based on how distraught she is after losing all her money in his casino, he feels the need to help her. Finn offers Macey thirty grand to be his for the week. Aside from needing a date to the events listed on his busy schedule, he also wants sex, something Macey promised herself she would never do for money. However, she's desperate and quickly agrees to Finn's terms.
Finn swoops her out of the run down hotel she is staying in and brings her back to his penthouse at his casino. He buys her the most expensive brands of clothes and beauty products, and Macey is quickly feeling as if she's been swept off her feet by prince charming. The sex she thought would be a problem, turns out to not be one at all, and Macey finds herself falling for Finn. However, Finn doesn't believe in love and even though he feels things for Macey, he refuses to believe it's love.
Finn and Macey's week together seems to be going perfectly. That is until Macey realizes she is in too deep and flees back home a day before their week together is up. Finn won't let Macey get away that easy though and he flies back home as well. There, he realizes Macey has been keeping a huge secret from him, one he never saw coming.
Striped Bare reminded me a lot of Pretty Woman as I was reading it. It was a quick and easy read with a happy ending. Yes, it's easily predictable, and the story line has been done quite a few times, but I'm a sucker for a happy ending and men who realize that love does exist. Overall, it's a cute and fun read, but if you're looking for something unique or profound, this one is not for you.
I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Heidi Mclaughlin never fails to wow me with her amazing characters and words that suck me in and have me begging for more. I read Stripped Bare in one sitting and Finn and Macey are pure perfection.
