Argyle just wants to play out side but the pesky wind is making it hard to enjoy a nice spring day. He keeps trying and trying, and when it seems totally impossible he still doesn't give up.

This book is a great way to show your young ones that you need to be flexible and adaptable when things change suddenly. I love how creative and imaginative Argyle was.

Argyle Fox has a whimsical and colorful style. The illustrations are beautiful.

Thank you Netgalley for the e-ARC

This book has beautiful illustrations. It is repetitive for young readers and shows a character that tries to do things but cant and experiences disappointment. Then gives a way to work through the disappointment. This would be good for a child who is struggling with things not going as planned and needing to be flexible.

A young reader that seemed to be perfectly OK, but also one that failed to hit the spot for me. Argyle the Fox wants to do anything and everything in his woodland home that the wind can completely kibosh. Towers of playing cards, out in the open air? Woosh! Football? That's gone into the trees. Pirates? Bugger, my hat! (NB he doesn't actually say that.) Mockers well and truly put on him, he has to come up with plan, well, it's about plan F at the time, but it finally works. The moral is clearly, then, think on't and you'll work out how to have fun/how to solve this problem/how to get what you want, but I found the way Argyle just shouted into the wind (literally) a bit one-note. Three and a half stars, but that certainly doesn't imply classic status.

Very cute little story. Love the illustrations (fox stories are my fave) and how engaging it is. My daughter was able to follow along and guess the ending. She also liked to “whoosh” with the wind.

Wow, this one was quite the cute adventure. I really loved that the characters were forest animals, and yet were so very relatable. I liked that it demonstrated how wind works, and how strong it is. I also enjoyed how it teaches kids not to give up, but to keep on going, and seeking out fun, no matter what. It's also nice how it encourages kids to seek out fun in the wilderness, the outdoors, because kids nowadays have become quite glued to their screens. The art was really cute and nice, and the writing was cute as well. Overall, I loved this one.

Argyle is a little fox, who lives with his mother inside a tree in a forest. It tends to get windy there in springtime, but Argyle consistently wants to play outside in ways that may be difficult in windy weather.

His various ideas are presented in cute and detailed drawings, and show Argyle to be quite persistant in the face of windy defeat. Then our intrepid little manimal takes all his ideas and synthesises them into play that should easily take on the weather. A moment of learning leading to moments of happiness.

Argyle is a young fox who simply wants to play outside. Every activity he plans, however, is thwarted by gusts of the strong Spring winds. His mom and animal friends repeatedly try to dissuade Argyle from various types of play which, they are certain, will be ruined in the rushes of air. When one plan after another fails, Argyle resiliently moves to his next imagined adventure. Ultimately, the fox comes up with a solution that is sure to be enhanced by the weather at hand and the nay-sayers are invited to join the fun.

The book would be a useful tool to show how a tenacious attitude can overcome difficulties and to set an example for kids that some situations can be conquered with a degree of independence. More importantly, the point could have been made (but wasn't) that listening to good advice in advance could help one to avoid difficulties in the first place. At times, Argyle was a tad disrespectful in the continual resistance to heed the warnings of those looking out for him, and his sudden inclusion of those same creatures at the end was somewhat confusing. Is willfulness by nature an obligatory companion of perseverance?

Argyle Fox is a lovely picture book for young children about a fox child unhappy to be interrupted by the bad weather all the time. This is such a great topics for little ones taken outside no matter the weather and sometimes feeling frustrated about it. The little fox has to think about a solution and come up with an appropriate game, and the rewarding of that thinking process is what I really enjoyed. It is an important message for little ones: think, try and find a solution, things will look up with the right attitude. The friendliness of the last page, when the fox shares his solution is perfect.
I really recommend that book to all parents wanting to grow those feelings into their own little ones. The pictures are cute too, with lovely details and lots of creative games the kids will recognise or get their imagination rolling.

"Argyle Fox" by Marie Letourneau is a beautiful picture book about Argyle Fox trying to play outside on a windy spring day. I love the spirit of adventure, and kids everywhere can relate to wanting to go outside and play, but they have to adapt to days that are too cold, too hot, or windy in this case. The little fox is determined to have fun and it learns how to adapt to the outside elements and have fun at the same time. Love it.

Fun, Cute Story about a Resourceful Fox

This is a superbly Illustrated and cute book about a resilient and resourceful young fox who is determined to play in the wind. The bulk of the book is all of his wrong choices and what happens when what he plays with blows away. He comes back to the house dejected, but his mother suggests there is an activity that he can do in the wind if he just thinks about it. He figures it out and ultimately has a grand time. It was fun to see him work through all these ideas you knew just wouldn't work out. The author used a similar “scene” pattern where the fox goes some place to do an inappropriate activity, a critter there tells him it won't work to do that in the wind, he tries anyway, and then “wooosh,” was he's playing with gets scattered by the wind. The illustrations are cute and colorful. All in all, this is a fun book a child who might be a little frustrated by not being able to do certain activities in certain weather would enjoy. It's also just a fun book to be enjoyed at any time.

I loved it! Artwork is amazing and the words just flow. I love that the mom didn't tell the child what to do, but let him figure it out.

Illustrations can make or break a picture book and these make this picture book big time! A story about working with your circumstances instead of against them, this book is full of imaginnative play and lessons learned.

A little fox wants to play outside but every game he chooses is unsuitable for the weather but he keeps trying until he finds something that is perfect for windy days outside.
The book is full of lovely illustrations, and it is a sweet, simple and fun story about perseverance and creative play.
I'd recommend for kids up to age six or seven.

This book was so cute, I love how Argyle fox continues to choose the wrong activities for a windy day and then gets frustrated with the wind for blowing away his playthings. Overall a really fun book that I think kids will enjoy reading.
