He had a plan for her. Her getting under his skin wasn't it.
I’ll stop at nothing to get what I want. It’s the Dyson way.
Ruthless? Maybe. But it’s what’s put me on top. And it’s what’s going to help me get revenge on the woman who put my family through hell.
I’m going to ruin Sienna Roberts.
My plan has been in play for months. She has no idea I’m the mysterious benefactor commissioning her artwork, or that the downfall in store for her will be the end of her career.
But there’s something I didn’t plan for—the way her smile and touch starts to make me forget all I blame her for…
Lexxie Couper never fails to give a reader a book that leaves them breathless.
Lexxie Couper does not disappoint with The Stubborn Billionaire. She has taken a controversial trope, an angry and revenge driven alpha male, and turned into into a romantic love story which thrilled my heart. And I confess I approached this book with much trepidation because it revolves around a trope that's not a favorite of mine - the revenge trope. However, because this is written by Lexxie Couper and I'm a fan of her writing, I decided to give it a shot.

The book starts with James wanting revenge on Sienna for his brother's death. I didn't think I would like James but James turns out to be very lovable. As I got to know him, I discovered funny, charming, sexy and adorable in his confusion over Sienna. Underneath all his bluster, he seems to be a really caring and compassionate man. Ms Couper also handles his need for revenge very deftly and for those of you who are not a fan of this trope (I'm definitely not!) don't be put off by it. Ms Couper deals with it brilliantly.
Sienna on the other hand, I was predisposed to like what with her being an artist and all that. I expected her to be quirky and fun, but she's also responsible, genuine and trying really hard to build a stable home for a surprise teenage brother who has invaded her life. She has so much heart and so much kindness in her. I loved her warmth too. Surprisingly, I did not expect her to be as sexy as she was and that was just an added bonus because she was as natural and uninhibited as she was sexy, and all without any artifice.

Kudos to Ms Couper for handling one of my least favorite tropes so well. Usually, I'd stay away from the revenge trope but Ms Couper has managed to make me love this story. This story is incredibly well written, and while it's different from Ms Couper's usual works (for those of you who have read her work), this will not disappoint. It's hugely sexy and the sexual tension between James and Sienna will knock your socks off.
Finally, special shout out to Zach, Sienna's teenage stepbrother. What an awesome kid! I want to hug him to bits.
I can't wait for the next book, which I think is going to be Thomas' story and I loved Thomas in this book.
Author Lexxie Couper always offers up hot and sexy romance and she’s done it again in The Stubborn Billionaire, her first offering from Entangled Indulgence. Two people with a difficult history, a plot for revenge, and a connection like neither has experienced before made this one exciting and intoxicating romance.
When her father is put in prison for multiple crimes, Sienna Roberts has no choice but to take in her 15 year old half brother who is not only grieving the death of his mother, their father’s incarceration, but his lavish lifestyle. Zachary’s latest stunt puts her in a deeper hole and needing money she doesn’t have, so she has no choice but to accept the commission of her benefactor and paint James Dyson, the brother of her deceased friend and the man who not only banned her from his funeral, but blames her for his death. So begins this twisted and entertaining story…
Talk about opposites attracting; Sienna is an artist and at 18 shunned her father’s money and his style of living and went out on her own to make it through art school and find work as an artist. She doesn’t trust people with money and she especially doesn’t trust James but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to lick him from head to toe. James has had a plan to ruin Sienna since the day he found his brother dead. Wealthy, ruthless and use to getting his way James is stunned when he sees Sierra again and can’t help but think she’s put some sort of spell on him. I loved the way these two reacted to one another from the start and given that the first time they met there were sparks as well, it is a pretty good indication that they might not want to like one another, but their bodies feel very differently about the matter. There attraction was undeniable, but I also enjoyed watching them really see one another beneath the exterior they put on for the world. There was a mutual admiration and while they didn’t want to like one another, they both fell hard and fast and their sexy times…whew, even the reader needs a cigarette when they are done.
Things I really loved about this book was them both being able to move past their past together and not dwell on it and I also loved seeing Sienna and her brother Zachary form a special bond. Watching Zach go from petulant teenager to protective brother was really quite beautiful. The emotion from both the romantic and sibling relationships really added a lot of depth and feeling to this story.
Exciting, sexy and full of the witty banter I’ve come to expect from Ms. Couper, The Stubborn Billionaire was a delight to read.
I am usually a big fan of this line of romance books, but this one left me feeling nothing. Mostly, I just finished reading it because I wanted to know what happened, but not necessarily because I cared about the characters. The story was written fine, it just didn't grab me enough to care about what happened to these two. Which is a shame.
I was mostly surprised by how fast the guy (I don't even care to look up his name) ended up getting over his "anger". I'm not against reading a vengeful story, but he did not hold up to his convictions lol. The story was definitely steamy, sexy, and all that. If that is what you're looking for, look no further. I guess I just like to care about my characters AND have sexy times.
James and Sienna have history. This little gem of a story is an enemy to lovers story. Now we all know, those are the best stories for sizzling chemistry. If done correctly, you can feel it brewing even before your leads know it's happening. Lexxie Couper did it correctly! She did an exceptional job of not only maturing both James and Sienna individually, but also as one. The story unfolded without a flaw. It is exactly what you should expect from this trope :)
Another great aspect to this story was the side story of Sienna and her brother. It's worth mentioning because there was a lot of growth and heart there and it added to Sienna's growth with James as well. It was perfectly layered out by Lexxie.
I'm highly impressed with the unpredictability of the predictable. And what I mean is that yes, the whole revenge thing is going to get figured out, that's a given, and on the surface you could say it was predictable, but if you read deeper between the lines, it wasn't so predictable ... Maybe that's just me LOL
Anywho, excellent enemies to lovers story. High praise from this reviewer!

The Stubborn Billionaire is the first book in the Muse series and one that I liked. I was able to read this in an afternoon and I think others could as well. I do tend to read fast but I think it’s one that once you start reading it you will continue to do so until you stop.
Dyson and Sienna are likeable characters and the story is one that easily sucked me in. The chemistry and passion between Dyson and Sierra was believable and hot. This was just a fun read for me. I am looking forward to reading more in this series in the future.
Ruthless Billionaire was a book full of hate, lust and passion. Lexxie Couper has woven an intense story of revenge, with well-developed characterization and an entertaining storyline.
Sienna Roberts is a talented artist in a difficult situation. Her father is in prison for embezzlement and she lives with her half-brother, a moody and spoiled teenager. The bills are piling up and she desperately needs to sell some of her artwork. Unbeknownst to her, one man has sworn to destroy her career and her life. Media mogul and billionaire James Dyson is bent on revenge. Sienna was his brother’s muse and he blames her for his death. James is broody, arrogant and entitled. He is the embodiment of everything Sienna despises, she questions his intentions and doesn’t trust him.
James is feeling unsettled and confused. His Machiavellian scheme is going awry. In this twisted game of hate and lust, he is bound to lose. He doesn’t do weakness, but he can’t control Sienna or his attraction to her. James is complicated, angry and tortured by his actions. He was not easy to like at first, but he was redeemable. The push and pull between him and Sierra was delicious, I found myself craving their interactions. I loved them together, the playful interactions and flirting. Sienna is a heroine I liked from the beginning of the story, she is strong, kind and selfless. James makes her feel again and gives her hope, despite her doubts about him.
I could not read this book fast enough and yet, I never wanted it to end. To be honest, I would have enjoyed it more if the author had taken more time to develop the backstory and the ending. I guess I needed more groveling and an epilogue. But overall, Stubborn Billionaire was an entertaining read and I will definitely follow this new-to-me author in the future. This book is part of a new series, but it can be read as a standalone.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher, via NetGalley.
This book was a different approach to the often seen billionaire romance trope. And that is, in part I think, because the story was built around revenge and not his money. And yes, it was still an enjoyable read.
The characters which Ms Couper created were three dimensional and engaging. Their back and forth pull with each other was a treat to read, and the supporting cast of characters provided an extra layer of colour to the narrative.
And the ending? Loved it.
This is a promising start to the series. I look forward to reading more.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Sienna is raising her half brother Zachary/Zach who is fifteen. Zach is angry, sad, and moody. Sienna had no idea how to raise Zach. when Zach was with their father he gave Zach everything he wanted and never disciplined him, and Zach’s mother was always in a drug induced fog until she overdosed and died. Sienna’s mother had at least had tried to instilled some morals in her. Then when Sienna was fourteen her parents divorced and there was a custody battle until her mom was in a car accident and died/. Zach had to find out by Facebook his mother was dead and his friend told his dad had been arrested. Zach had been raised by nannies that were picked for their looks not their parenting skills. Sienna had just got a call from the private costly school Zach attended and he had been kicked out he had been in a fight and broke an expensive violin as well as Sienna would probably be sued as a girl's wrist had also been broken. Zach was the son of Platinum Joe who had once been the most successful and outrageously talent agent around but now Joe was in jail. For extortion. Mr. Fenchurch told sienna there was no antisocial behavior accepted at Point School. The violin was going to cost Sienna three and a half thousand and they will probably be sued by the little girl who had her wrist broken parent’s. Sienna had cut any ties from her father and his life style eight years ago’ Sienna’s father had a gambling addiction and was in jail for embezzlement. So somehow Sienna was responsible for her father's high court fees . Sienna had a trophy wife step mother who was Zach’s mother until she died from overdosing. Sienna had a one point a very promising art career sienna had planned to do a portrait over the next six weeks that would hopefully win the National portrait prize and restart her floundering career in art. Now Sienna wouldn’t have the money to pay the fee to enter the national contest and pay for materials, framing and entertainment for a prominent Australian figure while they sat for her. It didn’t help that Sienna nor Zach had any kind of normal upbringing. Sienna’s mother had at least tried to induce morals into her. When Sienna was fourteen her parents divorced and there was a custody battle until Sienna’s mom was killed in a car accident. Sienna had to try to rebuild her career . the only thing helping was Sienna’s mysterious benefactor Mason Xavier who still wanted her work. Carrie was Sienna’s best friend and that was who she thought was knocking at her door even if it was a little early for Carrie. Jason Dyson- who was a ruthless billionaire and Australia’s Business man Of The Year- was at Sienna’s door but Jason and Sienna hated each other. Then Sienna asked Jason why he was there and she reminded him how six months ago he had told her never to come near or speak to a member of the Dyson family again. Jason said he had changed his mind. The first time Jason and Sienna had been this close he offered to buy Sienna a drink and they had flirted with each other until he found out who she was. Jason stood for everything Sienna hated: money, greed, and power. Clint was Jason’s dead brother who had committed suicide and Sienna was blamed for his death. According to Clint Sienna was his muse and Clint was a talented artist. The second time Sienna had seen Jason was at Clint’s funeral that Jason had refused to let Sienna attend or even pay her respects to her friend. Then Jason brings up how broke Sienna is and how important her benefactor Mason Xavier was to her who was Jason’s good friend and had arranged for a unique birthday present - a portrait done by a very talented artist Sienna. The way Sienna was acting was not like the gold digger tease Clint had described should act. Jason had plans of revenge by using Sienna then destroying her like she did Clint. Jason called Sienna Clint’s girlfriend but Sienna said they were only friends and when his family turned on him for choosing art school instead of following in Jason’s shoes and joining the family business. she let him stay with her. Jason’s friend Thomas was a famous author and had wanted a picture done by Sienna and Jason arranged it and Thomas now had a portrait in his office Sienna had done. Now Thomas is determined to meet Sienna. Thomas was a good looking, rich and charming man and usually had no problems with the ladies. Jason was bothered by Thomas’s interest in Sienna in Thomas’s eyes. Son told his friend Jason to back off..
I loved this story it was a very enjoyable read. The plot was absolutely great. I loved the person Sienna was and how independent she was she left her father behind her because of his lifestyle and the people he was with. Sienna took in a man whose family turned their back on him because he wanted to follow his passion and he attacks her when she turns down his marriage proposal yet she forgave him and even felt horrible with Clint’s suicide. She was doing the best she could with her teenage half brother without any idea really how to raise him. Eventually Sienna does reach Zach. I also liked Jason as he almost immediately sensed he may be wrong is his assessment of her as he believed his brother. Also realizing half his problem was the guilt he felt for not sticking up for his younger brother when Clint needed him. But he does realize his mistakes Jason is a very intelligent man,. So to all this is well written story that I loved reading. I loved the characters and how they interacted and the ins and outs and Highly recommend.

The Stubborn Billionaire by Lexxie Couper was a very good read.
The storyline enjoyable, the characters Sienna and James were passionate, stubborn and had amazing chemistry.

Quick easy read but not without its pitfalls. Revenge is always a matter of viewpoint. This time viewpoints changed and the fire burning for revenge just may need recitations. Everything is not always as it appears.
His plan was in place. His mind set for the kill. He had every detail accounted for. Or so he thought. He never counted on Sienna not being what he thought she was. He never counted on her smile. Her story. Her charm. Her allure.
Steamy passion, fiery anger, twist & turns, lavish luxury, spoiled siblings, dead siblings, pointing fingers, and more. There was a lot here to keep you engaged in the world of wealth, power, privilege, and revenge. It all does not turn out how its planned to.
Looking for a read that will captivate you, engage your senses, keep you on your toes, pick up The Stubborn Billionaire.
This was a tough read for me to get my head wrapped around as somewhat plausible. I did find some of the characters intriguing and some worth the pursuit to find out how they wrapped up in the end. I was surprised that the sister and father string never really got resolved and how they now would handle Dyson's newest love. I did like the supporting characters. This was my first read by this author so not sure if this is her style but I did learn that this was not my style and that's ok. All sorts of readers out there in the world, just gotta find the right niche.
same story different names. no surprises, just ok way to kill an afternoon.
The Stubborn Billionaire is a nice change from the the formula of ruthless billionaire taking on younger, naive heroine. It is a billionaire story, but James and Sienna are realistic characters, with a realistic, physical and emotional connection. James Dyson, the billionaire in question, has plans for vengeance. Vengeance upon Sienna Roberts for what he thinks is her part in his brother's suicide. So he sets out to ruin her by tricking her and seducing her first.
Sienna is an artist with a jailbird for a father and an insolent, angry 15 year old half brother whom she is now raising, thanks to their father landing himself in prison. She doesn't know it, but her patron, Xavier, who has commissioned the art that is keeping her and her brother clothed, fed, and with shelter over their heads, is none other than James Dyson himself. So she is merrily (or not so merrily, considering her financial and familial situations) creating away when James comes to her studio and lets her know that her latest commission is to paint him. While she's painting him, they get to know each other, and fall for each other along the way. Their chemistry is really hot, and I like how real and normal they are with each other when not out in public. He finds she isn't really the person he had thought, and that she hadn't caused his brother's suicide, and she finds he isn't really the ruthless, cold shark she had thought he was.
But what, or who, rather, I love most about the The Stubborn Billionaire is Zach, Sienna's younger brother. He's witty and once he's allowed to express his anger in a more productive way, he's very sweet. Not to mention, his musings about James, Sienna and their relationship are spot on and really funny. But, of course, something bad is bound to happen, and when Sienna finds out that James had planned on destroying her, she is understandably upset, and cuts James out of her life. But when James apologizes (grovels, actually), it is so swoon worthy and sweet that I couldn't help but fall in love with James just like Sienna did. Because, damn, his grand gesture of apology is perfect!

The Stubborn Billionaire is the first novel I've read by Lexxie Couper and all I can say is bravo. Bravo for creating characters that will make you laugh and then curse out loud because of their ability to overlook the simplest things and frustrate the heck out of you because of their stubbornness. Then you have to wonder just which of the two is more stubborn as the story unfolds. Dyson had it all planned out when he commissions Sienna for a piece of art - take her and her store down before she could realize what was going on. What neither expected, through the hate and constant fighting was for an attraction to form between them - on that neither could deny.
4 breath taking dreams
It was a very good book that kept me captivated from the very beginning and I really wanted to find out just how the situation would work out: how would Sienna react to Dyson's carefully thought out plan? Who would fold between them and admit how they feel for one another first? Would they make it together once they realize that they've played one another? So many questions that needed answering and I couldn't wait to find out just how it ended.

I received this ARC copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. I give this book 5 stars. The hero Dyson is ruthless and the heroine Sienna is a down on her luck artist. He thinks that she miss lead his brother and she knows that he dislikes her for it. But they have instant attraction. This book has no cheating, some betrayal, no abuse. I recommend this book.
This is Book 1 in "The Muse" series and it was a nice read. James Dyson has a plan for revenge against Sienna Roberts who he thinks is the responsible for his brother's death but as soon as he meets her, he realizes that the woman he met has nothing to do with the gold digger and manipulative person Clinton described to him. Now he will try to really know Sienna and find out the truth.
Nice read! Very entertaining!

The Stubborn Billionaire, IMHO, should have been titled The Stupid Billionaire. Honestly, the whole premise of the book just didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. From the hero's idea of getting revenge for his younger brother's unrequited love for the heroine by deciding to have sex with her, to her just coincidentally being a talented painter who just happens to master in erotic, smexy paintings sometimes featuring orgies, to her always answering her door in a tank top and panties, which by the way is her favorite way to dress while painting. Throw in the cliche daddy dearest figure who the hero is a chip off the old block that you just know is going to meddle into this scheme, likely just when the hero decides to back off from destroying her painting career. At 20% into, the plot just seems silly to me. Sure, he's going to fall for her, probably find out his younger bro was being treated for a psychotic breakdown due to their dysfunctional family, but his original accusations will be discovered and others will jump into the fray and destroy her before he can stop them.
Here's to hoping others enjoy it. I'm not so stubborn that I don't realize when I'm just not a good fit for a book. The plot and writing just wasn't agreeing with my idea of a well-written romantic read.

James Dyson is looking for revenge. His brother committed suicide after a woman broke his heart, and James believes he's got to deliver justice. Sienna Roberts, an up and coming artist is the woman in question and he's got a plan to destroy her one step at a time. It doesn't matter that the first time they met, before they knew who each other was, the sizzling attraction between them was the most real reaction he'd had to a woman in months.
Sienna is keeping things together one day at a time. Her father is in jail, a once wealthy man who owes money to disreputable characters, and her teenaged half brother is struggling, living with her reluctantly while going to school. The only thing keeping them financially afloat is the commissions for erotic paintings she's been getting from a mysterious benefactor. When James Dyson, billionaire businessman shows up on her door with orders from her benefactor to paint a portrait of him, she's stunned. The last time she saw James was when he turned her away from his brother's funeral. With no choice but to accept, Sienna agrees. James's plan to get revenge hits a snag when he finds that Sienna is nothing like his brother described, making him question his plans. But as these two draw closer together, will the secrets that come to light break everything apart?
I love a good enemies to lovers romance! James thinks he knows everything about Sienna from the one sided tale told to him by his frankly mentally unstable brother and has his plan in motion almost right away. When his brother initially left the family fold to become an artist, no one supported his choice, and it's the guilt he feels about that, and his brother's subsequent suicide that make James believe he must do something to atone for it. Ruining the woman who destroyed his brother seems the best choice. Of course it's not long before he realizes that he's made a mistake and Sienna is nothing at all like he thought.
Sienna is a great female character – compassionate and patient with her teenaged half brother who has been thrown into her custody, competent and talented as an artist and a fiery and passionate woman. She'd rather have nothing to do with James, a man who pushes all her buttons but who is off-limits because of the awful circumstances surrounding his brother's death. She still feels the pain of that, her one-time friend having much stronger feelings for her than she realized and her rejection of him leading him on a destructive path. But the chemistry between her and James is too strong, and it's not long before neither of them can resist diving headlong into an affair.
Some of the story is predictable. Obviously Sienna is going to find out about James's plan at some point and the consequences of that are going to affect them both (and that's going to lead to grovelling on the part of James, the best part!). But even knowing where the plot is heading, the story is a very enjoyable read. I liked the interaction of Sienna and her brother (who came across as a very realistic teenager). James's character, despite all his bluster has a gentler and protective side too, so while he's mostly got the alpha male thing going on, there are some scenes that belie that and make him all the more attractive to Sienna (and the reader). All in all, it's a great story for the Indulgence line with some super sexy scenes, an entertaining plot, and interested and conflicted characters that find their way to a happy ending.
