I enjoyed the book the plot and character entertaining and it kept me interested the whole time would read this author again
Thank you for the opportunity to read Entwined. I no longer read the erotica genre of romance and decided to not download this title before it was archived in January 2017. I did not read nor plan to read this title.
Jess and Morgan were high school sweethearts and shared a once-in-a-lifetime and all-encompassing type of love. Tragically, her father died and she was overwhelmed with guilt and grief and fled to London. Miscommunication, misdirection, and malice contributed to Jess staying away for five years. But now her cousin and best friend is getting married and she refuses to disappoint her by not attending. Even if it means coming face-to-face with the pain of the past. Even if it means trying to be around Morgan again, as he's the best man and she's still very much in love with him. She can definitely survive the next couple of days. But will her heart?
I'm a sucker for a great second chance romance and Entwined delivered. These two characters suffered so much pain and unfortunately most of it was unnecessary. However, it was real and the author did a remarkable job of exploring that pain and moving her characters through it. It wasn't easy and thankfully it wasn't made to appear superficial. I only wish Jess' mother had some sort of comeuppance for the part she played in the misery.

I got completely swept up in this second chance love story and loved every moment of it! Stories like this are my book crack and me a very happy little book junkie.
Morgan and Jess were in love as teenagers and as far as they were concerned, nothing would ever break them apart. Until Jess’ father died suddenly. Jess left Swansea for London and hasn’t been home in five years.
Her relationship with her mother is toxic at best so she has managed to steer clear of her as long as she could. Here is the thing about family, you don’t have to like or love everyone you are related to, if they add nothing positive to your life then stay away from them. This is something I have personally learnt over the years of my life so far and it works for me.
Now Jess and Morgan are about to be thrust together again at her cousins wedding, where he will be in the wedding party. However, that is not the only thrusting that will be happening in this book, not by a long shot! The moment these two see each other again everything is temporarily forgotten as passion takes over. Morgan is even more handsome now and Jess is remembering how it felt to be his with every kiss and caress he gives her.
Jess thinks that they just need to get this wild attraction between them out of their systems and then they can both move on with their lives. Morgan is not thinking the same way though, now that he has had Jess again he is determined to show her why she should stay.
There is a big elephant in the room though, the reason behind Jess leaving is the only thing anchoring her in London and there is no way she is going to tell Morgan what she has been holding inside her heart for five years. He would never look at her the same way again.
This was a book rich in emotion and feeling, I felt all the pain and sorrow between Jess and Morgan as they struggled to deal with their past and the reality of their now. A beautiful second chance love story.
i really enjoyed reading this title and hope to read more :)
this is one of the better second chance romances, that actually worked well, and was believable. Sometimes these types of stories seem forced and leave you to wonder how in the world the main characters connected in the first place, but not with this book.
It is a quick read, that I finished in one setting. Not too much fluff, to get distracted by, which is nice and refreshing. I really enjoyed this book.
Entwined is an enjoyable second chance romance with a couple who never truly let go of their affection for each other – yet other things got in the way and prevented their younger selves from staying together. Now as adults they are meeting again under the love filled time of a wedding, only to discover that the past really isn’t in the past for either of them.
This story is filled with that “mis” emotion or word – misunderstanding, miscommunication, mistakes and one big secret. While the love that Jess and Morgan still share may be burning hot right now, they still have a lot to get past or through to their happy ever after.
I enjoyed this one for various reasons. One was the clear feeling of seeing the younger couple vs the adult couple. Youth is such a confusing time to begin with, add to that a love that feels as strong as anything an adult would experience but without the maturity… and you will find misunderstandings and separations that probably wouldn’t have happened. It’s easy to play the what if game, but reality has put them together and it’s up to them to make this work between then in the now or walk away for good.
I believe most Romance readers would enjoy Entwined, it’s a solid story, an engaging couple and full of emotions.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
A reasonable story and some good steamy scenes, for those looking for them!
We all need a light read sometimes. There was a bit more to this than the usual will they/won't they get back together story. It seemed clear from the outset that they would. But there's teasers all the way through about a big secret. I half guessed what this was, and when it was revealed it made sense of Jess's reluctance to leave London. I hadn't read the first book in the series, and indeed, had I known there was one, I may have looked it up before reading this. It worked as a stand alone however. My feelings on the characters changed throughout the book, at times I went off Jess - Morgan was always a likeable character, steady but with more than a hint of wildness about him. In the way they reacted to each other the book was a more modern version of a frothy romance. A reasonable story and some good steamy scenes, for those looking for them! And another lesson on not listening to other people's interfering - it can wreck lives!!
Steamy romance, good characters. Everybody wants to go back to their hometown, catch up with their true love/crush and connect and take look at what could have been. Harroway does a great job of drawing you in and making you care for the characters. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I can tell you it will not be the last. I loved every minute of Jess and Morgan's story and when I was finished, I immediately went and downloaded the first book in this series....
This is a story of second chances and the author did a fantastic job of capturing all their emotions and feelings. In the beginning I was not 100% sold on Jess as I could not understand why she had hurt Morgan the way she did, but as the book progressed and you find out more about what happened it all starts to make sense why she did what she did.
They basically meet in high school. They are 17 years old and madly in love. They are together for a while until something happens and Jess leaves Morgan. He has no idea why and he is terribly heartbroken. The book takes place years later when Jess comes back to town to attend her cousins wedding. The minute these 2 are in the same room again, all the feelings and emotions they managed to push down all these years resurface until they have no choice but to deal with them. Jess is determined she is only staying in town a few days and then going back to London once her time is over. Morgan is angry and he wants answers. He wants to know why the girl he loved more than life itself could hurt him like that.
The book is wonderfully written and as I said all their emotions and feeling are beautifully captured. The author truly has a way with words and I look forward to seeing more from this talented Kiwi author!!!
**I received this book free from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.**
I’m going to start my review by saying that this book was not bad. I know a lot of people that would love this and I enjoyed a large majority of this book. The reason for me rating it so low was because of the number of tropes that I absolutely despise in romance novels being present in Entwined. And honestly, I probably should have chosen a little more carefully when looking through the Netgalley selections. I just had no idea how many tropes would pile up and would make me cringe.
Entwined is a “second-chance” love story about Jess Bellamy, who has returned to her hometown for her cousin’s wedding, but she has not been back in five years. Jess must come face to face with the best man, Morgan Price, who was her high school love. Only of course it wasn’t any high school love, it was the explosive, passionate and unforgettable high school love that ruined both of their prospects of moving on within their five year separation. Do I sound slightly annoyed?
To be honest, I love cheesy romance novels! I love happily ever after’s and meet-cutes and all of those things so I had no way of knowing that I would only feel slightly mediocre about this one.
Of course the romance isn’t all there is to Entwined. Jess has a strained relationship with her mother and it is one that I would find completely unforgivable as well. Her mother doesn’t seem to have a grasp on reality, just listens to her own version of the truth and that plays out in unfortunate ways throughout the whole book. Carol is an easy villain in our story but she doesn’t play as big of a role in the story as we would think.
Entwined is told in two perspectives, Jess and Morgan’s and while I found Jess’s perspective to be more informative, I loved Morgan’s point of view. Without his inner monologue I would not have found him to be an enjoyable hero. Jess’s memories of him are sweet and intriguing enough but based on his present day actions I would not have found him compelling in any way. He was indifferent and harsh and so stubborn he completely refused to hear Jess out for the majority of the book. He was this way every time Jess and him met but when we were given his inner monologue we finally were given access to his true feelings and his concealed vulnerability.
Morgan was my favorite part about this book. And unfortunately there isn’t a lot else I loved. Jess was likeable enough but her insistence that she keep secrets (even from the reader) was the most annoying part of this book. Others might not find that a downside, but lack of communication and unnecessary secrets is by biggest pet peeve in ANY book, not just romance novels.
I’m going to put the spoiler header up for this next section because I need to talk about my biggest frustration with this book, but I want people to be able to opt out.
Pregnancy is my least favorite romance trope. It’s cliché and so common, if I see it in the description I automatically skip that book. Now Entwined did not include only one pregnancy but included two. I think the happy ending pregnancy was better handled than the past pregnancy between Jess and Morgan so I’m going to spend my time on that one.
I had predicted about half way through the book that a miscarriage was what Jess had been hiding from the past and played a role in her leaving Swansea. And I think Jess’s grief and confusion as a young pregnant teenager who had just lost her father, made total sense, except for one big thing. In the prologue of Entwined it mentioned that Jess’s relationship with her mother was not great. That was set up from the very beginning, it was the one piece of information I held onto from the prologue. So why oh why would she trust anything her mother said about Morgan in the past. Especially knowing how unhappy Carol was with the pregnancy. That is something I wasn’t able to get over and why the rating dropped so low for me.
I found Entwined to be interesting and a nice quick read and I did enjoy most of it, however I don’t think would be able to recommend it without talking about some of the bigger downsides in my opinion.
I would love to talk to other about what they thought of the different plot points and characters! Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
Genre: romance,
I loved, loved JC’s first book so was pleased to get an ARC of this second story. Its tough though following such a great start, so I wondered how it would stand up to that one.
Recovery, JC’s debut story was set around one of my weaknesses –the film star/rock star trope – so it already had an edge, but this one is a second chance romance and I enjoy those too, so I was ready for another cracker.
It was a good read once again, with very believable people and realistic plots and settings, (but as an artist can I just say that though you Can paint with watercolours on specially treated canvas, that's unusual and paper is the norm...) It didn’t quite have the magic for me of the first book though, it was a fun read but didn’t quite hook me in the same way, keep me gripped to the page, wondering what was coming next.
I loved Jess and of course Morgan – and who wouldn’t?? When we do finally know the reasons for their split, the big secret that gets taunted to us all the way through, it seems a bit light, a little naive, almost implausible. What we have to remember is they were still very young, still teens and judgement and decisions made then aren’t always the best. Don't you look back at some teen times and wonder how on earth you thought that, did thingst, belived others when we the passage of time we can see it was all wrong...Of course there was no real reason then to distrust, that came later with time and distance, the ability to see through people.
I loved Melissa, Jess friend and cousin, too though was a little puzzled that the priest pronounced Melissa and Daniel man and wife, when it was Gary she was marrying ;-) I’m reading an ARC though so this hopefully will have been corrected, made me smile though!
Its really centred around why Jess left, what happened, why didn’t she tell anyone what was wrong, especially poor Morgan who thought they were so in love. Now she’s back for the wedding, and they’re both still feeling the pull of the past, and trying hard to just get through the weekend and be civil, never mind how they feel inside. Its really easy to pick up on the fact they still share an intense passion, the air around them crackles with it and there’s some well written steamy scenes between them.
Its an enjoyable read, but felt a bit simplistic in a way, I was sad when the story came out, understood that teens don’t always have a good overview and are not always able to make the best decisions but it still didn’t really fill the story for me.
Unlike the first book, which I could and have re-read, this one is a one off read only.
If you’re looking for a feel-good, light read with a bit of a sad story in the background this may be perfect for you, but for me the drama side was a bit lacking and flat.
Stars: Its more than a three but not quite a four, so three and a half.
