Mrs. Rachel Van Dyken is one of my favorites authors! This book was awesome with amazing main characters as well as secondary characters and I can't wait to read the second book.

Don't let this title deter you from reading this book. I know some people have issues with reading books with cheating in it or a love triangle. This is not the case.

Lucas Thorn wasn't always a whore. Lucas was set to marry one of the black sisters. The problem is, he was in love with someone else. For years he has been fighting his feelings. What do you do when you feel trapped. When you aren't in love with the person you are supposed to marry. Well.... Lucas made sure that the wedding didn't take place. He cheated!! Or did he????

Lucas wasn't born a cheater. He loved women. He loved fucking. So when he has a woman lined up for each day of the week, wouldn't that be considered cheating? Well..... it isn't if they all know about each other. Lucas Thorne doesn't commit. He doesn't profess his love to these ladies. He simply wants one thing..... TO GET LAID.

Avery Black is an angel. Avery scores a new job. But when she finds out who her new boss is, things get complicated. She HATES her new boss. She has ZERO respect for her new boss. But why does her body crave him. She wants to spend as much time with him as possible.

Lucas was set to marry one of the black sisters. The problem is, he was in love with someone else. For years he has been fighting his feelings. What will happen when the one girl Lucas couldn't have walks back into his life? Will he continue with his calendar of women?

Avery knows Lucas is a cheater. She hates him for it. But what will happen when Lucas opens up to her? When the truth is revealed, will her feelings change toward him? Can Avery let go of the past or will Lucas be branded with C on his chest?

At times I wanted to strangle Lucas. I wanted to wrap my hands tightly around his neck and squeeze until his face turned red and he was gasping for air. That's how much he infuriated me. He is his biggest fan. Lucas loves Lucas, but when Lucas actually realizes that the world doesn't revolve around him and that his actions have consequences, I began to like him. I loved how Avery didn't take any crap from Lucas. Lucas dished it out, and Avery gave it right back to him. I was routing for these two. I loved how ONE woman can change everything for a man. Lucas just needed to realize, which WOMAN was the one that could change it all for him.

Rachel Van Dyken has done it again! I absolutely adored this book, and CANNOT wait for book 2! I was completely consumed, from beginning to end!

While this was a first book of Rachel's that I read, I think I picked the wrong one. I liked the cadence and I liked the writing of the story itself, but the actual content was NOT to my liking.

I can enjoy many "forbidden" aspects of a story -- in truth, forbidden is a favorite trope of mine, but when I start reading that a man has slept with all three sisters, and there doesn't seem to be a problem with it, I definitely won't be reading it. I just didn't enjoy the actual immaturity and the product within the pages of this story. I will most definitely be giving Rachel's books another shot because I did like how she wrote, but just not the content in this story.

Thank you for the chance to read/review this one. I didn't feel that I had to post a review online because I didn't particularly enjoy this one and it was a personal dislike and most definitely not a professional dislike. I will be checking out more by Rachel in the future. Thank you!!

"Cheater", by Rachel Van Dyken is exactly what it sounds like, it is about a cheater Lucas Thorne , but Lucas is not just a cheater he has taken it to a new level ; manwhore extrodanaire a different women every night. So what's different than a cheating trope, which may turn some people off?

Well, it's what leads Lucas to that point, his fear of dissapointing freinds and family, one too many drinks and the wrong bedroom door. Their is also the Black sisters, Kayla, Brook and Avery and let us not forget to mention along Lucas's journey second chance, a second chance at redemption, a second chance to tell the truth and if everything goes his way a second chance at a future with the Black sister he has always loved.

Ms Van Dyken as always has written a engaging story with an intresting cast of characters and blended it all together giving the reader some drama, humor some sizzle and a character or two to have a love hate relationship with.

I enjoyed this story of Lucas and Avery, one time good friends when he was engaged to her sister. After he is caught cheating, Avery and her family hate him. When Avery encounters him again years later, she can't hold on to the anger she's had for him. As their relationship starts to change and sparks start to fly, these two have to see what is ahead for them. Good characters and an interesting storyline!

It was my first Rachel Van Dyken book. But why??? Why haven't I read her books yet? I loved her style. I have The Matchmaker's Playbook on my kindle, but I haven't read it yet. I will read it as soon as I have time. 😊
So about this book... I LOVED IT! It was so funny! I enjoyed reading it! And I couldn't put it down.
"Nobody ever tells this side of the story - but it's important. Cheaters aren't born, they're made. Never forget that. You don't wake up one day and decide to cheat, you don't make a career out of it, and you sure as hell don't want to end up hurting an endless number of people for your own psychotic reasons."~Lucas
The Prologue was so perfect! It made me curious, and I couldn't wait to dive in!
I knew Lucas was a 'cheater', and I couldn't be one of his women, but I couldn't hate him. YES I loved him. He was so hot and funny. And I think finally everyone fall in love with him. 💓 I didn't like his lifestyle, but I found it interesting. What I didn't like his past. He was found in bed with his fiancée's sister before his wedding. And from this time, he decided he was a cheater, and started his new lifestyle: he had 6 women, different woman every day.
"They say every man has a story. Mine started the night I was found in bed with my fiancée's sister."~Lucas
"I sleep with a different girl every day of the week - except Sunday. That's God's day, so I hand out with my sister, Erin"~Lucas
Avery is Lucas' exfiancée's little sister (not the one who was found in bed with Lucas). She is much younger than Lucas, she is only 22. Lucas is 32. Sometimes this bothered me a little, because we could see she was young from their conversations. But she was a likeable character too.
"Hating him was difficult. Being attracted to him was inevitable."~Avery
"That's the thing about crushes - if you're lucky, they go away and you find someone so incredible that the whole crush is laughable, a distant memory you think about or maybe dream about once every three years after having too much sangria." ~Avery
I loved them together. I loved their 'fights'. I was laughing a lot! And I couldn't wait Avery to let Lucas have her. The sexual tension was so thick. They wanted each other, but Avery was afraid. She didn't want to be one of his partners, she didn't want to share him. Understandable. And Lucas was afraid too, because he didn't know whether he was capable of being in a relationship. He was afraid that he want others too.
I loved to read about how their feelings were developing.
"I love you. When you love someone, you let them win - not every battle but at least the ones that matter." ~Lucas
I loved the whole book, I couldn't say anything bad or negative about it! One of my favorites in 2017!

Lucas Thorne.... ahhh Lucas. So, I wasn't 100% sure how this book was going to go down. Not fond of cheating in books so I went into this book with an open mind and clean slate. It certainly wasn't what I thought it could have been. I actually enjoyed reading this book, unfortunately I started it right before and out of state soccer tournament for my daughter, hence the delay in start to finish is skewed. I actually picked up the book in my spare moments I had. I actually loved the book. Lucas is that guy that you want, from a distance because he just looks like trouble, however you cant keep your distance, he has that much magnetism about him. A moth to a flame. Well you just need to read this book and see that for yourself. I loved Avery and Austins friendship oh and Thatch and Lucas's as well. Think they would be fun friends to have.

This book was very well written and very entertaining.

Let me start by saying this is a review I never wanted to have to write. I have been a huge fan of Rachel Van Dyken's for a very long time, and for the most part I love her books. But occasionally she writes some that just don't work for me, and unfortunately Cheater was one that didn't. I still love her and am a huge fan, this just wasn't the book for me.

On the night before his wedding Lucas Thorn was caught in an incident that changed his life and reputation forever. Branded a cheater after being caught in another woman's bed, Lucas decided to own his new reputation. Now he has a different girl for every day of the week (except Sundays of course!) and he doesn't do any kind of commitment. But when Avery Black goes to work for him, he finds himself wanting more. Avery hasn't been able to forgive Lucas though since he betrayed her family and ruined everything, but she quickly learns that she just might want more than revenge when it comes to Lucas.

I have to admit that a huge part of my issue here were the characters. They were immature and over the top, something that I have had problems with from RVD before. Sometimes her humor just doesn't click with me and gets a bit too much, and that was definitely the case here. While there were a few things I found funny, for the most part it just felt so forced and didn't do anything for me. Lucas also continued to act as though nothing had changed and I wasn't okay with that when there were feelings being developed. I understand his reputation was the main point of the book, but he continued to have all these girls that he was with right in front of Avery. Once feelings start to develop or return, that is the kind of thing that ruins a book for me...especially considering that she worked for him and she had to manage his "other" calendar. Because of all that it just made it hard to really believe in any kind of connection between these characters.

Besides the character issues, I felt like the story itself was just a bit too over the top and unbelievable as well. Like the humor, there were so many things that just didn't sit right for me and I found it hard to actually believe that they were possible. Lucas was engaged to his high school sweetheart, Kayla who also happened to be Avery's sister, and the night before he was to marry her he was found drunk in bed with their other sister Brooke all the while he hadn't actually loved Kayla but was in love with Avery...it just didn't work. I thought maybe I could find something that would change my mind about these two and their relationship as I read, but honestly I just didn't see it and couldn't get past all the issues I had with the story. For me, Cheater was too contrived and immature for me to ever get into and unfortunately I was disappointed with this one. It won't be the last I read from Rachel Van Dyken though as I do love a lot of her stories. If it sounds like one you might like, give it a go but be prepared for the over the top and immature characters and humor.

I have read all of Rachel Van Dykens book so there was no way I would not read this.
Cheater had great characters that I found I connected easily to. Lucas and Avery were well thought out characters. Their chemistry was smoking hot which I loved. The connection and chemistry showed all the way throughout the book which was fantastic. It definitely helped me fall in love with the characters and the story overall.
Lucas made a very bad mistake when he was younger. He was in love l love with his high school sweetheart and was planning to marry her. That was until he got very very drunk and ended up cheating.
This incident changed him and turned him in to the a bad boy who slept around so he didn't need to make way connection to anyone or risk getting hurt again.
I really liked Lucas despite his faults. He was messed up and really frustrated me at times. I found myself having a love/hate relationship with him.
Reading both POV's really added to the overall story which I enjoyed. There was great banter between t gem both which had my laughing throughout the book.
This was a fun fast paced story. It was funny and enjoyable with good twists.
If you want a light book to read this would be perfect.

Cheater was a great 5 star read.

Avery is starting a new temp job to avoid having to move home. She is shocked to find out that her new boss is none other than her sister’s cheating ex fiance.

Lucas is shocked when the beauty in his office turns around. Avery is no longer the little girl he remembered, she is now a woman in all ways and he is finding it very hard to resist her.

Avery is appalled at Lucas’s lifestyle and still has a lot of hatred for what he did to her sister. However there is also a feeling of jealousy and lots of dirty thoughts of the man she swears she hates. He also knew just how to push her buttons with his comments.

Chill, I don’t hit on children.

When a false story takes an unexpected twist, Lucas isn’t sure how to handle it.
I couldn’t shake the feeling that bad things were coming.

I have to say it gets even better from here. I had several LOL moments, especially when they have dinner with Lucas’s parents. There was literally nothing I could do other than watch the train wreck. “Oh, do go on, sweetheart:” I winked. - Lucas
Not to get too personal, but does ED run in the family? - Avery

Avery was a quick favorite of mine, I loved her no holds bar attitude when it came to Lucas. She really knew just how to get him with her comments. I don’t think I have laughed so much while reading. And all of the secondary characters were great and added a lot to the story. I loved the mothers. If you're looking for a fun, what I would call second chance romance than I suggest you 1-click and get started.

3.75 Stars!

If you think you know what this book is about, you’re probably wrong!
And if you’ve trashed this book but haven’t read it, you just look like a fool….

cheat·er
ˈCHēdər/
noun: cheater; plural noun: cheaters
1. a person who acts dishonestly in order to gain an advantage.

Although Cheater wasn’t a 5 star rating for me, I definitely enjoyed reading this complicated and somewhat controversial storyline. It has a bit of an icky factor. It has a touch of a taboo-ish factor. And it definitely has a major manwhore factor. But even with those aspects that some may shy away from, I found it entertaining and often very humorous. This author really knows how to make me laugh out loud with hysterical and flirty banter. And I loved Lucas and his "cheating" ways right from the start. I like a good unconventional romance read from time to time!

So what didn’t I like then? Avery. She is quite immature for my liking and just rubbed me the wrong way for most of the story. I didn’t hate her, I just had trouble relating to her. And the over-the-top food obsession? A bit much for me. Lol.

Overall, I think this book is worth the buy. I’m pretty anxious and curious for the second book in this installment. I’m sure it will be interesting to see how Thatch will explain his cheating ways and eventually win over Avery’s friend, Austin.

3.65/5 stars
Are you in a mood for a quick romance? Well... This is one of them. And do not be fooled by the synopsis, there is so much depth to the story. Ahhh... I want to use "and" again... I think the synopsis together with the title are kind of misleading . Yes, the guy practices polygyny (= one male having more than one female mate). Yes, he cheated (observe the past tense here). Also, all his "lady friend for every night of the week" gave their consent for this type of relationship and knew from the beginning that there are other women. Oddly enough - in a good way - Lucas wants companionship and offers companionship to these women, not just sex.
This story is more about two people who, by fate, meet again and reconnect. They receive a second chance to confront the truth about their past and feelings for each other.
What bothered me the most were the parents. Lucas and Avery were unable to say no to them. And they were so... soooo... or how the naughty side of me wants to actually say it... ANNOYING as f. I say no to my mom even when she is telling me to eat bread even though I am masticating bread in that very moment. :)) I value my mother's opinion very very very much but I will be unable to accept her to control me the same way Lucas and Avery are controlled by their parents.
And Lucas' parents! I am only going to say this: Come! On! He is your son. He is more important than your BFF's.
Also, take in consideration that they, all the parents, appear briefly through the book and are used as a tool to drive the story to an end.
Other than that, they seemed nice enough. (^_^) :D
Ha-Ha-Ha!
I liked this story a lot. It was sexy, sweet, and bitter due to so much heartache. Cheater came this close - B L A N K S P A C E B L A N K S P A C E - to reach the complexity of Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard.

This was my cuppa tea.

This is my sole opinion. ^_^

I have loved everything thus far written by Rachel and this one is no different. I love when females can tame the boy boys and vice versa

I love Rachel's books just didn't care for this one. 3 sisters in love with the same man. Lucas is engaged to one gets caught what looks like he's cheating with another one but is in love with Avery the youngest one. So Lucas is called a cheater so instead of saying the truth he turns into a manwhore really? Lucas annoyed me and Avery deserved better! Yes it was funny at times like all Rachel's books are but I couldn't get over the whole sister thing. 3/5 stars *** I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Copy of this book ***

Rachel just has a way of making you love the guys you want to hate but can't! Really seriously I wanted to hate Lucas Thorn but I fell in love with him instead, definitely the Lucas Thorn Effect! This is really a great book and got me out of my reading slump! Plenty of humor and a whole bunch of angst!
