While Stan Schatt’s writing style is good, and the story is easy to follow, the protagonists aren’t particularly relatable. Most readers don’t believe in psychics and while likeable, Josh doesn’t seem to be a viable character. The storyline is interesting, and the donut eating fat physician is a good bad guy. Death and Donuts is an okay novel, but the series isn’t one that I would like to read all of the novels in because the supernatural or psychic aspect isn’t tenable. This is one I would choose to skip.
This is the third mystery in this series. Detective Frankie Ryan is back trying to solve the murder of a well known Hollywood Actor. His murder is just a small part of a larger crime conspiracy reaching all the way to the top. To help with the Hollywood background Frankie enlists the help of her favorite psychic reporter Josh. I really liked the relationship between the two. The mystery was good and there were lots of twists and turns. This series should probably be read in order since previous mysteries are mentioned. Enjoy this exciting Mystery
