My first book in this series and I can't believe what I just read! There were so many details and things going on in this book that you need to have read the other books in this series. However, focusing on Dmitri and Faith they were hot, sexy together. Unlikely pair- well that's saying it midly- that are perfect for each other.

Thinking of starting at book 1 and I would have a better appreciation of this book.

Firestorm was a great romantic paranormal read full of action, twists, and turns, and I enjoyed it a lot. This is book 10 in the series and it gives us Faith and Demetri's story. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

This book was a best in series read as far as I'm concerned. Firestorm is book ten as Donna Grant continues her amazing Dark Kings series. The series hasn't shown any sign of losing it's edge either. This book is my favorite one so far because of all the ways it held me captivated for the entire story.

Faith is a driven archaeologist who finds a dragon skeleton. Con sends Dimitri to Fair Isle to destroy any evidence of the skeleton. Wouldn't you know these two end up being mates ? Their attraction is immediate but Dimitri held back until an attack causes him to reveal his true form to Faith. One of the things that I loved about Faith was how great she handled the truth. Then the past reared its' insidious head and brings danger from within to the Dragon Kings and their mates.

So many things happened in this book. I loved Dimitri and Faith and how everything is starting to unravel in the world of the Dragon Kings. The author put in all of the "feels" that get to me in a story and also threw in some much needed answers. The chemistry was so strong between Dimitri and Faith and of course they get put through the emotional wringer. That's all to the reader's benefit, you see, for the romance aspect. There was also a nice mystery that didn't quite get solved just yet with this one. The plot was just that intricate with more wild cards and a sucker punch twist being moved into play. Con played a huge part in the intricasies of this story as a couple of his secrets were revealed that made me wonder just who is the good guy and who will eventually win in this war. Con or Ulrik .... or is there something more in Donna Grant's deck of cards. She certainly leaves the door wide open and even takes an unexpected direction for the series. I am a happy reader since this means more fabulous Dark Kings for me to enjoy.

Firestorm is a true paranormal page turner ! I would call it a must read for fans of the Dragon Kings series.

Firestorm is an incredibly stunning and deliciously decadent romantic fantasy that will curl your toes while it captures your heart. This is a truly fantastic world that is meticulously crafted and wildly rich with wonderful characters and a sumptuously complex storyline. Nothing can deny the wonderfully addictive pull that this adventure will have your mind and your heart. I can’t deny myself a new adventure, but what a fabulous gift when I am presented with one that is completely out of the ordinary and passionately mind-blowing. This is one series that any fantasy and romance lover will undeniably want to discover and savor.

Dr. Faith Reynold has discovered something that his made her rethink everything she thought she knew. What her eyes see and her mind processes has her heart in a wonderful uproar as her soul pulls her closer and closer to it. There is something just out of reach that she absolutely needs to find. Never has anything sucked her in quicker or held her in a wonderfully delightful state of euphoria. Dimitri has one fixed goal in his life, and nothing will deter him from it. When that goal brings Faith into his path, he is thrown off balance, and he fight against it. She makes him feel things he has never felt before, and he isn’t sure if he wants to hate her or keep her by his side forever. One thing he does know is that her life is in danger as long as she stubbornly continues searching for things she has no idea how to comprehend. Will Faith open Dimitri’s heart to something that he can’t even imagine must less understand, or will his duty trump even his awakening heart?

I was literally swept away by this wondrous world full of remarkable creatures of myth and lore. They pulled me deeper into this story than I ever imagined, and I hated to see them go. I was entranced by the diversity and the beauty of each extraordinary character and how they enriched and drove this wonderful journey. While this is the first book in the series that I have read, and I had a lot of holes to fill in, I had little trouble in adapting to te back story and the many subplots going on. The sheer complexity of it all made my mind tingle with pleasure as my heart hummed with joy. What a truly epic adventure that I would absolutely love to read from beginning to end!

Donna Grant is a true genius in her masterful balancing act that never seems to falter. With so many characters and subplots, she made this breathtaking story come to life and flow so effortlessly. I was pleasantly surprise and held in awe of her amazing talent! I look forward to reading more spectacular stories from this master story teller.

The next installment of Donna Grant's Dark Kings brings us Demetri and an archaeologist named Faith Reynold. Sound familiar? If you have followed DG, then you know that her Dark Warriors, Aaron and Dr. Veronica Reid's story Midnight's Kiss had the same MO. Demetri is sent to his ancestral home of Fair Isle because reports say that an archeologist has discovered dragon bones. He hasn't set foot there since the Kings sent their dragons away centuries ago and he isn't too happy to be going back. With Ronnie's help he is hired on as protection for the dig site because "the crazies" have been coming out trying to get a look at real dragon bones; what he doesn't expect is to find Faith to be passionate, innocent of anything more malicious than a thirst for knowledge, and Fae trying to get to his dragon's bones. He sets out to find out how he could have possibly left one of his Whites behind to die alone and to protect the delectable and open-minded Dr. Reynolds. Once back at Draegan, things become more clear that there is a new enemy afoot and Demetri has to stop it from destroying his new-found true happiness with Faith. I enjoyed the story, but I always enjoy any DG novel. She blends passion, adventure, interesting conflicts, and she is great at blending subplots that don't leave you thinking "why can't she just stick to the yummy couple". It is fun from the first page to the last and this one didn't disappoint. I love the Dark world and am always happy to return to it.

Another off-the-charts read by Donna Grant. Firestorm is Book 10 of the Dark Kings Series and this is Dimitri and Faith’s story. I absolutely luuuuuurve this book...might just be my favorite yet. Ms. Grant does a bang-up job with her solid world building, wonderful characters and the kickass storyline she gives us. The chemistry between Dimitri and Faith is off -the-chain gang :p You will have a hard time putting this down.

WHO IS IT!!?? Who is Rhi's King? I need to know now :) Fantastic addition to the series. It again adds to the overall story arc while giving the 2 main characters of this book their own story without being overshadowed. I just can't wait for the next installment.

So it has been a few months since the last book came out, I think around 6 (I could be wrong) but it has been awhile. I forgot a lot of what has happened from the previous books but after a few chapters my mind did get refreshed of what has happened for the most part. I really did enjoy Faith and Dimitri's story. I don't know why but I always picture Dimitri to be King of the Purples or a form of Purples but he is King of the Whites so it took me a few to get my mind wrapped around white instead of purple but it wasn't that hard to do. Faith is archaeologist and discovers something in a cave on Fair Isle. Dimitri goes and helps protect the site and the item found. Their story of course evolves from there but I won't say more without giving things away. The biggest surprise I think I found was how well Rhi and Con were getting along and working with each other. These books still continue to hold my interest with each story. I can't wait for more from this series.

Another great book in the Dragon Kings series, Donna Grant writes a superb urban fantasy and this series is getting better with each book. I love how she intertwines her different book series into one world that keeps the reader guessing and wondering what will happen next, I am completely addicted.

'Firestorm' by Donna Grant is book ten in the "Dark Kings" series. This is the story of Dimitri and Faith. I have been jumping in and out of this series so for me this was a standalone book.
Faith is a Archaeologist who has found a Dragon skeleton. Dimitri has been sent to destroy the Dragon skeleton so that him and his people can keep their shifting Dragon history a secret. Dimitri and the other Dragon Shifters are pretty much immortal. So Dimitri feels that he had let his fellow Dragon down by leaving this one behind so many years ago. Faith's mother has had a love for Dragaon and now that she is gone but has found this skeleton remains feels it was meant to be. So she is very protective of the skelton. Dimitri find himself doing things he wasn't sent to do...like helping Faith protect the skeleton and not destroying it. In addition he usually is only attracted to Fae but can't seem to stop wanting this 'human'.
This book had the mystery and the sexiness that makes you now want to put this book down...which I did not! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Fantasy, romance ,deceit. Dragons, mortals, mates. Good, evil, dark fae, light fae, druids and more. This was a wonderful fantasy read. Rivaling books such as Karen Marie Moaning's the fae series and Jeaniene Frost Cat and Bones series to name a few. Donna Grant weaves fantasy so well you are picturing yourself as one of her characters while reading her stories. It was awesome how she brought up the McClouds and the immortal warriors in this book. I have read so many Donna Grant books and I am never disappointed! Four strong stars, Dragons are hot!

The prologue. This is the first time we EVER get to see a glimpse into the day that the dragons were sent away. And never had it crossed my mind that these dragons weren't only their clans but their families. That itself really made the feels come out.

Faith is an archaeologist who loves her job to the point of it being her life, especially now that her mother has been gone for 6 months now. On her new dig she comes across remains of what she believes to be a dragon. Faith's mother loved dragons. Maybe that's why this find is so important to her. She is fully invested in it to the point of being oblivious to her surroundings. She's one with her job and she loves it. It's everything to her so her gut feeling about it being destroyed is the one thing she wont allow. Which touches Dimitri to his core. He see's her resolve to stand between man and her bones and he can't help but respect that she'd do anything for his whites as he would. Alive or dead.

Dimitri... my god! His kindness towards Faith, his caring for his whites, and just him... he is amazing. With the intent of destroying the remains of one of his dragons he only had one mission in mind and at hand. But when Faith comes along more than one thing changes. His feelings for mortals and her but also the need to know how and why his dragon was left behind to die. He was so sure that he'd found them all so it bothers him to no end that he has "missed" one.

Though he was afraid to give in to her because all kings ended up coming back with mates, when it came down to it he claimed her with intent. Just outright and honest. And that was pretty sexy. He knew what he wanted and took it. Much like Faith herself. I loved these two characters to bits! They both are no nonsense people and need the truth no matter the hurt!

The power that held and controlled Dimitri is concerning. He hurt Faith and didn't even know it and what's worse is that with Con's own strength, it took him as well. So among the Dark Fae, Ulrik and Mikkel they now have a new player to protect themselves and the mortals from.

The emotions that are reflected upon the death of this dragon really pulls at the heart strings. I found myself getting teary eyed for a creature that was maliciously killed. For Dimitri who is taking it personally. For all the DK's and what they gave up. This book has probably been the MOST emotional of all because we are seeing more into these characters, their minds, and their pasts.

Truths come out and plays have been made... What will happen when everything is laid out in front of us!? I NEED to know!

Side notes:

Ulrik is angry that his secret is out and Mikkel knows he can shift. He now has to find ways to make up for what has been unleashed knowing his uncle will be furious. Ulrik is devious! Using V to help gather the mates. V is the only DK who now knows about Mikkel which gives him a lot of power and I want to know what he will do with it.

Rhi's confrontation with Con (who I'm finally going to believe ISNT her king) was very tame for it being those two! Civil I might call it. But now it begs to question, what will Rhi do to stupid Usaiel!? Con and Rhi getting along is definitely something else! Kind of nice but definitely weird from the things we've seen thus far. I think it's adorable that Con doesn't realize that he's good looking and even better when he asked Rhi if she truly thought he was gorgeous. It really made me smile! What if Con knew Rhi was his mate and her DK stepped down because it was right? What if Rhi's hatred towards Con is the only thing that makes him testy with her?

We learn more about V. His anger and need for his sword. But with everything coming to light he is last on the list of worries.

Mikkel is right in front of Con, photo and all, but they still don't know.

Con's inner turmoil really shows his strength as King of Kings to stay on the path of his vow. So now I'm at the love part of the love/hate relationship.

These books get more complicated as they go because of what the Kings endure. They always keep me on my toes and coming back for more. Now more than ever especially. There is so much happening and so much more that can be done!

great story. I loved how Dmitri hated humans so much before Faith. such a great pairing between them. so many new twists and turns now I can't contain myself. my heart broke for the fallen dragon. such cruelty. I loved seeing glimpses of the dragons that had to be sent away.
