I've enjoyed the other books in this series and I've been waiting for Ronan's story, so I couldn't read it fast enough.
And yep, Ronan is just as stubborn and sullen and moody as I expected. He's also adorably sweet, sentimental, and loyal af. Hope is smart, personable, and amazingly good at her job. At times she comes across as flighty, but after getting her back story, it all makes sense.
The plot line was intriguing. I did see a few things coming, but I loved seeing the couples from the previous books. The ending was fantastic and the epilogue was even better.
I'm sad that it's over, but can't wait to read what's next.
**Huge thanks to LoveSwept and NetGalley for providing the arc free of charge**
I have loved the O'Donnell brothers so far in this series & this book doesn't disappoint. Ronan is the oldest O'Donnell brother who has just returned to the Buoys after being away (married, divorced, worked in job he hated, etc.). He has begrudgingly agreed to be a part of the Hooked show for his family. Then he meets Hope who is producing the show & doing the interviews. Hope is a woman who's always prepared (with her giant bag of miscellaneous items) & doesn't really have a home or family. She admires the O'Donnells & is attracted to Ronan. Read this book to see what happens. You won't be disappointed!!
I am so happy that Ronan finally got his book. This series has captivated me from the beginning and book 3 was no different. I loved the writing, the story and getting to see the O'Donnell brothers one more time. I highly recommend this series if you are looking for something sweet and sexy!
I enjoyed book, Holly was hilarious with the stuff that she would pop up with. It was also sad at times, with what Ronan and his brothers went thru, however he needed to wake up and stop being so hardheaded at times. I was proud of Holly and how she stuck up for herself and did not allow Ronan to treat her like crap, after a huge misunderstanding. Was happy they resolved and ended up together.
This is Ronan’s love story. He’s my favorite of the three brothers. He’s been hurt by two women (his mother and ex-wife), he doesn’t trust women, and doesn’t do relationships (hence his “Catch & Release motto regarding women). He’s the quiet, stay in the background brother but can get loud and explode when needed. He’s the oldest and bears the responsibility of having to take care of his brothers at a very young age. As with his brothers, he has deep hurts. This is a sweet, heartbreaking, story. I adored Hope and her big bag of almost anything you might need, spouting crazy trivia when she’s nervous or uncomfortable, and her guts to go after what she wants. I love that Ronan wasn’t good at the “flowery shit”, his inability to put into words what he feels (one of my favorite scenes is his flashcards), his feelings towards Hope keeps him bewildered and off-balance, and his cooking talent was a surprise. Hope is the ideal match for Ronan as she notices things about him and his family, she’s sincere, she respects that the Buoys is more than a fishing lodge but also their home. Their relationship is paced perfectly. The plot twist near the end was surprising but much needed for the brothers to continue their healing. Very emotional but just perfect for the completion of this series. Laura Drewry writes in a way that makes you feel that you are a part of the story and her descriptions of the setting makes me want to visit the Buoys for a fishing vacation. The brothers each have a different and unique personality and a strong brother bond. Their relationship with each other shows that while they’ll fight like crazy, they have each other’s backs. Catch and Release (and really, the whole Fishing for Trouble series) has the perfect blend of family dynamics, romance, emotional and fun moments. This is a wonderful conclusion of the series of the three O’Donnell brothers getting over their turbulent childhood, finding their happiness in adulthood, and focusing on their future with the women that taught them to trust and love.
This is the third, and last, book in this series. I've read both the other books and whilst you don't have to have read the other two books, as usual it really helps with the back story about the brothers.
Ronan is the last single brother now, after both his other brothers Liam & Finn, have met and fallen in love in the last two books. Ronan was married before, and badly burnt by his ex, so very relationship wary.
Hope and her crew arrive on the island to film 'The Buoys' for a reality series and whilst there is a little reluctance from the O'Donnell brothers they realise it is really going to help their profile, and bank balance. Ronan is the most against it, but knows it is for the best, but wants definite boundaries in the filming.
Hope is lovely, she has beaten eight other people for this field-producer job and she wants to make sure all goes well. But she has a 'thing' for Ronan before she even meets him, feeling really attracted to him just from the photos. Hope is alone in the world, her parents have died and she has no other family to speak of, and she goes from place to place in her job with no particular ties, so she really envies the close-knit O'Donnell clan.
Ronan gradually lets down his barriers and starts a relationship with Hope, but events near the end of the book throw a spanner in the works - a big surprise and lots of highly charged emotions! But of course things work out for the best in the end.
I've really enjoyed all three books in this series, but I have to say I think Ronan was my favourite. A lovely end to a very enjoyable series.
I have to be honest, a romance series about a trio of off-the-grid, Canadian, professional fisherman is not usually in my wheelhouse, but something about Laura Drewry's Fishing for Trouble books worked for me anyway. That something is her completely adorable, likable, HOT, and vulnerable characters. I want to buy a ticket to the buoys today and I don't even eat fish...or like the outdoors. While Liam and Kate's story in the first of this series remains my favorite, this third installment was still great.
Ronan is the hard-headed oldest O'Donnell brother but even he can't resist the charms of Hope. You won't be able to either.
Catch and Release by Laura Drewry
Fishing for Trouble #3
4.5 Stars! - Right off, I love the movie quotes at the beginning of the chapters, reminds me that I am reading a Drewry book and how much I love them!
Ronan is a fairly quiet guy (as in, keeps to himself when he's not yelling). I loved that Hope throws him off balance the minute she steps off the plane! Hope’s quirky habit was awesome! It made me laugh often, and in parts, let out a contented sigh with how Ronan reacts to these quirks. The two together had fantastic chemistry, and I loved their banter. Even the stray “guest” made for some cute/funny scenes.
This book finished off the series perfectly! (Well.. I assuming it's done... anyway.. I will miss these O’Donnell boys and their ladies. Guess I am lucky as I can revisit them anytime I want!
If you haven't read this series I would highly recommend it.

~ Paragraphs and Petticoats ~
As the oldest O’Donnell, Ronan took on the responsibility of caring for his younger brothers after their mother left and their father drowned his pain in alcohol. After his brothers were old enough to fend for themselves, he got out, got married, and set himself up for a great life. Or so he thought. Next thing he knew, Mandy had turned him into someone he didn’t recognize, and he hated what he’d become.
Back at The Buoys, his family’s fishing resort, for the filming of the reality tv series Hooked, Ronan would be happy to stay in the background. He’d prefer it if the cameras and Hope, Hooked’s beautiful producer, would just leave him alone. He has no desire for fame or fortune. He just wants to get back the parts of himself that he lost.
Since his painful divorce, Ronan has been a proud member of the “catch and release” club, never staying with one woman long enough to develop any real feelings. But there’s something so honest and unassuming about Hope that makes him let down his guard, and soon he’s falling hard. Maybe Hope could be the woman to finally convince Ronan to give love another shot.
Laura Drewry’s Fishing for Trouble series was a highlight of 2016. Both Off the Hook and Lured In were amazing, and I loved getting to know the two younger O’Donnell siblings. While Ronan was mentioned in both of these books, the glimpses we got of him were far from flattering. He came across as angry, gruff, surly. Not the kind of guy to do emotional heart-to-hearts. Not really the romance novel lead, if you get what I’m saying.
And yes, that’s how he appears. That’s certainly the first impression that Hope gets. But that’s not really who Ronan is. The real Ronan, once you strip away the heartbreak and pain of his divorce, is a sweetheart. He’s the kind of guy that finds out what your favorite dessert is and surprises you with it after dinner. The kind of guy to bring you a mug of tea when you’re working overtime. The kind of guy that would protect those he loves at all costs.
Going into this book, I was sure that Ronan would be my least favorite of the O’Donnell brothers. Turns out he’s actually the best. Anybody would be lucky to find someone like him.
And let’s not forget Hope. Hope, who is always prepared for any situation. Who regularly keeps safety goggles and bungee cords in her purse. Hope, who spouts off random facts when she gets nervous. Who is honest and warm and loving and still a grown woman who can handle herself. Hope, who makes the first move, because she knows that Ronan won’t.
I loved these characters. I know I say that about every book that Laura Drewry writes, but I just absolutely adore her characters. Can I move to The Buoys? Can I be friends with them?
Catch and Release was an amazing ending to a great series. All three books are fast-paced, engaging reads that will easily keep you up all night. The first two books were good, but Catch and Release is in a league of its own. If you haven’t yet started this series, I can guarantee you that it won’t disappoint.

Thanks to Netgalley and Loveswept for the ARC!
Sassy little book in a series about brothers who run a scenic fishing destination business and a television reporter who wants to do a story about them.
Hope and Ronan are a delightful couple whose paring is as unlikely as it is charming and I'm happy to recommend this sweet little beach read to friends and listeners. Thank you.
I've read the other 2 books in this series and sadly non as good as the first. I just didn't connect with the heroine of this story and was really looking forward to reading this one but it was still a good story and I appreciate the opportunity to read it, with thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Quick Summary: Now I get it! It all makes sense. The three brothers suffered a great loss, a betrayal of sorts, which led to their hearts being broken by the one who should have protected them most. No wonder they had trust issues.
I liked all of the brothers in this series, but Ronan was my guy. He was strong and yet vulnerable. He was a protector, a provider, a scarred individual who cared...hard. He loved fully and completely. That's why he was hurt so badly by the events that happened to him and his siblings. I could say more, but I'll simply sum it all up by saying that I'm glad he found his forever.
Lastly, two specific things touched my heart in this book. First, I loved how the author touched on depression/mental illness. Second, I appreciated how she addressed death and the loss of loved ones. Well done. Actually, it was beautifully done. Bravo.
I have greatly enjoyed this series and this book has been no exception. There were parts where I laughed and several parts where I cried. The chemistry between Hope and Ro was amazing. The sexy parts were so well written.
4.5stars
Catch and release is the first book that I read from the series and I really enjoyed reading it. Both characters very lovable and well develop. It was not a typical love story, the attraction between Hope and Ronan is instant but they made baby steps before they made steps toward relationship. Story is funny I like Hopes rabbling about random facts a lot. Jd is also a funny story. So the story is not boring at all has moments to laugh but also moment to cry, moments that are romantic and moments of joy.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly
A wonderful ending to a great trilogy.
The main characters have both experienced bad in their lives, yet live with different attitudes.
Barriers break, hearts mend and love deepens for the whole family all while keeping the place running smoothly all summer, with a TV crew in the way.
I loved this return to The Bouys and I'll miss the banter and family that reigned supreme in this series.
A fabulous read.
My favorite of the series. The O'Donnell brothers have grown up here at the Buoys. A place built by their Da, a place that holds some pretty rough memories for these three men. Their Mum leaving them when they were young, their Da turning to drink.
This can be read as a standalone without any problem, but you get a deeper glimpse at each brother ( and their women) starting with the first book.
This story is about Ronan, oldest and I dare say coldest and roughest of the crew. Ro has no filter at all and has always carried the burden of looking out for his younger brothers, even though they are now adults. Hope is a TV producer who has come to the Buoys with her crew of two to film a TV show to actually promote the fishing lodge and the experience of being there. Prior to her arrival they had some rough negotiations and that was because of Ronan. Cameras rolled all the time, interviews with the guests etc. Each week the show was sent to the network and they would gather together at the lodge to watch the show. Everyone seemed happy. Initially Hope was afraid of Ronan because of his angry reaction during the phone conference but as they got to know each other, he slowly let his guard down, became friends and then the two steamed up the sheets rather nicely. I had to laugh at Ro several times as he would look at his brothers who were both tied at the hip to their respective mates and thinking and saying aloud that wasn't happening to him. Ahh, but the mighty, they fall hard.
There's a blistering twist in the book, Ronan is explosive, the boys band together the family closes ranks and Hope is exiled. She quits her job and holes up in her apartment absolutely devastated by what has happened and how when she was beginning to feel included in a family, she was once again alone. Alone and very hurt.
I loved these two, Ronan and Hope. Laura did a great job with all the emotions and dialogue between them. She's a very visual writer and I really like that in a story I am reading, where I can see in my minds eye the place and people the writer brings to the pages. The plot line in this was great, you get the backstory and a lot of what's alluded to comes out in this one. You get the big picture and the micro version here. My heart broke for Hope, I wanted to nut punch Ronan more than once and even Liam was walking the line with me at one point with this one. It's a sign of great writing when a book does that to you.
I'm giving this book a 4.9... why? I wanted to see Ronan grovel. But hey, that's just me.
Great story Laura!!
