A cute book that will make anyone believe in love again!
2.5 stars. This story was very middle of the road for me. As weird as it sounds, I liked that I didn't like Xavier. It makes total sense in my head, but let me explain. Xavier is a spoiled rich kid. Everything that he says, does, and thinks supports this and while I don't like him for those traits, I liked that the attributes and prose were consistent. Was there enough development to give him some dimension? Sure. As he gets to know and like Mia, he has the opportunity to grow some. Do I like him then? Ehhh. He's alright. Definitely needs to learn to adult.
For Mia, what I felt most of was pity. The story tries to portray her as strong and for a bit, I buy it. Then she meets Xavier and starts to resemble a doormat. The insight into her psyche was done well in the beginning but it drops off and becomes inconsistent as she and Xavier begin a relationship. If you can even call what he does that. There were a few actions disguised as "love", "attraction", or "possession" that would've gotten the Xavier in my life decked in the general vicinity of the face or balls, perhaps both... The intimacy between them was ok.
All in all, I felt the story had potential but lacked in execution. Safety: No others. No sharing. No rape, though a vague attempted rape is mentioned as part of the heroine's background.

"The Billionaire's Virgin," trust me, the book isn't as cheesy as the title may suggest. I really did like this book. Both Xavier and Mia are likable characters and they are easy to relate to. Mia is homeless, has been since she was 13 and escaped her abusive grandmother. Xavier, he's the billionaire, is volunteering at a homeless shelter to make him public image look a little better, when he meets Mia.
Xavier is instantly entranced by her, not just an attraction, but he wants to know her and her story. Of course, he goes about it all wrong - kind of like a bull in a china shop - at first, but he genuinely wants to see Mia in a better situation. He basically forces her to come home with him and live with him.
Mia isn't as hardened a character as you might think, she still has hopes, goals and dreams and is trying to find a way to make them happen. Xavier worries her though, why is he interested in her and why does he want her to live with him? Of course she is afraid, but mostly of herself, not Xavier. Mia is worried that she will never want to leave him penthouse apartment. Also, she knows when she is forced to go back to the streets it will be harder that it was before.
Can these two people, the billionaire and the homeless virgin, somehow fall in love and make their completely different situations work? The author does a nice job in bringing them together in a believable way. There are some pretty steamy scenes between the two of them that move the story along nicely. Highly recommended, I believe this is the beginning of a series about the De Santis brothers and I want to read more.
This is the first book in this series The Billionaire Fairy Tale Series and the first one is Cinderella one of my favourite troupes and this one is beautiful I loved seeing Mia a homeless virgin go from the streets to a penthouse with the aid of playboy and bad boy Xavier De Santis.
Xavier De Santis is the bad boy in the family he works for the family business in security and protection but lost his mother when he was young and that leaves him scared and feeling that everything that is dear to him he breaks or hurts and now after a fight he is sent to a homeless shelter to help and for some reason he notices a young woman and for some even stranger reason the need to help her but it scares him as well.
Mia has lived on the streets for years she is a loner and sticks to herself going to the shelter for food and sometimes when it is really cold accommodation she feels that she cannot take anythingfrom anyone because she does not deserve it she has been through so much. She is very wary when she meets the new rich guy helping feed the homeless at the shelter and for some reason he seems to trying to get close to her and this scares her a bit.
Sit back and enjoy this journey between two people who are scared and vulnerable I smiled and shed some tears and got a bit frustrated with them both and Xavier and Mia open up to each other and join together in such a beautiful romance Mia is a lot stronger than she seems and the their love for each other is so moving give me a Cinderella story and I am happy this one is a must read and woohoo the start of a series thank you again MS Ashenden for a story that is going to stay with me for a long time.
3.5*
When I downloaded this book there were no reviews for me to check but the blurb alone sounded like a good read for me but with very little reading time before Christmas I now find myself playing catch-up.
I mention this because this book now has reviews and they're very mixed, after reading some of the 2* reviews I found I wasn't so sure about reading this anymore.
The reviews in question were detailed and well written and now I've actually read the book I can totally see where they're coming from but I have to say thankfully I liked this book more.
Mia has lived on the streets since she was thirteen years old and she's learnt that the only person she can depend on is herself but despite the hard, almost impossible life she lives she's not given up, there's a spark in her eyes and a steely determination about her and it's this spark that's catches Xavier's attention.
Xavier De Santos is a billionaire bad boy, youngest son to the second richest man in New York and after his latest fiasco, a drunken brawl with a paparazzo he finds himself serving meals in a homeless shelter where he finds himself drawn to a girl in an orange beanie.
Xavier is confused by his interest in this girl, it's not as if she's particularly beautiful or anything but she's not defeated or broken down like most of the other poor souls he's serving, that and the fact that she ignores him and women just don't ignore him.
The story slowly builds as Xavier becomes more and more intrigued with Mia who despite the fact that she hates attention in all forms finds herself looking for him.
Now I enjoyed this read but it's very much a book about these two characters and while two of Xavier's brothers and his father make brief appearances, just enough to make me want to continue on I would have liked more on his brothers, their relationships and history but I'm sure this will come in future books.
Anyway like I said it's Xavier and Mia's book but I did feel by the end that I didn't really know them as well as I would have liked, particularly Mia but then Mia doesn't even know her last name, she knows her mother left her at 5 years old with her grandmother and after suffering verbal and physical abuse at her hands she finally ran away at thirteen with no real education so it's difficult to get more on her.
It's a slow read, it has to be because Mia is so skittish but she slowly learns to trust Xavier and he in return comes to see himself through her eyes.
Like I said I enjoyed this book and I'm so looking forward to Nero's 'The Billionaire Beast' next, especially after the teaser at the end. Wow.

I loved this book, it was refreshing, different and I really enjoyed it!
I am so excited for more, full review soon!
A past is a hard thing to shake and the emotional conditioning the worst!
When Xavier, billionaire playboy and weapons go to, has to pull community service in a homeless shelter he meets Mia. Homeless at 13 Mia has been abandoned by her mother and then abused until she ran away by her grandmother. Now, after more than 5 years on the streets of New York she has caught his attention. Attention she does not want.
When Mia walked through the line and he saw her eyes he was hooked. The more days he saw her the more hooked he became. He admits, probably because she wouldn't give him any attention, at least at first.
Then it became about getting her out of the cold and then feeding her and then just taking care of her. Little did he know that what he was doing was way more than that.

When I read the synopsis for The Billionaire Virgin I was immediately intrigued. When I was able to get an arc of the book I was very excited to dived into the story and did so as soon as I could and I loved it. The Billionaire's Virgin is just so so soooo good!
In this book we are following Mia and Xavier and I loved these two together. This is the first time I am reading a story with a heroine who was homeless , I loved Mia, I loved how feisty she was, how determined she was to be a independent as possible no matter how bad her situation was.Xavier was such a good male lead when you get to know him you realize that he is a good person with a bit of a rough exterior. I loved the romance in this book Mia and Xavier are the two character who have definitely had there share of hardships in different ways and I felt they became safe place for each other which I think is what really made me root for them so much , I saw two people that desperately deserved happiness , they were just so cute together. If I had to describe this romance in 3 words they would be sexy, enchanting and heartwarming.
I loved this story I could not put this book down once I started it , it was so good . With a sexy romance and a plot that had me completely wrapped up in Mia and Xavier story . Jackie Ashenden creates an enchanting contemporary romance with The Billionaire's Virgin I cannot wait to get my hands on her next book
3.5 Stars
I found this book to be entertaining like the billionaires of old, but I also found the plot to be less than compelling.
This was a very light well written read.
Mia and Xavier were to broken people who didn't know how to fix themselves.
Xavier finally saw beyond himself with Mia.
We never learned too much about Mia's backstory. There were many components that I found fell short in this story.
But again, it was a nice and entertaining quick read with a cliche title.

A very sad tale of a emotional damaged billionaire Xavier and the homeless woman Mia he met while doing community service by serving food at a shelter. Mia had been on the streets since running away from her only family a abusive grandmother at the age of 13. It takes Xavier a while to gain her trust so he can help her. In the process he finds himself and discovers what is truly important in his life. Even though the book does had a HEA it was just too sad and unbelievable for me.
