Unfortunately I didn't like it as I couldn't get into the story.

I received an E-ARC from netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed the book quite a bit, it's a little slow to start and my editor brain was on the entire time, so it could use another editorial pass.
That said, the story, characters, and worldbuilding is intriguing. The sex is steamy and enganging.

Well worth the time to read.

The Grizzly’s Tale begins in the virtual world with a hot and steamy scene between two game players, Katy and Grizz. When the game abruptly ends, their steaminess continues via a phone call and that’s when we learn there is more to Katy than her gamer personality. She’s cunning, secretive, and able to hide in an instant. There’s a lot more to the smart and sleuth-y Katy. Her real name is Katya and she has secrets she wants no one to find out.

Grizz isn’t alone in his wanting the sexy woman. His two brothers also yearn for the human female and they want to make her their mate. Together. The trio creates a virtual game that they hope will win her over and make her their mate.

I found this story to be iffy at first. Yes, the beginning was sexy and steamy, but it was an intense beginning and I was afraid of a letdown. However, the story kept on and held my attention all the way through. I did think parts of it dragged only because I wanted more excitement and action, but with that said, overall it wasn’t lacking in that area. I think that was just me, as a reader, wanting more.

I really did enjoy this story and the unique aspect of the game involved. The shifters were sexy, strong, and smart. Katya/Katy was a strong and kick ass heroine who did not turn to mush when the men swooned. Love that and where this story went.

I read an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review. I liked the book and story line but felt their could have been more explaining the backgrounds of the characters. While this was an advanced copy their were still a lot of spacing errors between words.

I just could not get into this book at all. There was nothing to grab your attention and keep you there.

This is a short story.
But I had a real issue with the characters not having enough background.
I just did not like it.

This was a intriguing story with a interesting premise. Unfortunately it fell just a teeny bit flat, hence the three star rating instead of four. It was occasionally hot, but in sections it was strange as well. This wasn't a bad read; quite the contrary. It just needs a bit more explanation behind the characters and the story

I had high hopes for this novel. I find that I've really loved shifter stories with bears in the past, but this one started out so confusing that I had trouble finishing it. I did like the concept behind the shifter community but it was written strangely so that the prologue had a jarring ending and I started the story feeling off balance. Then the Katya and Virginia backstory wasn't told or explained in any way that made this easy to follow along. Something about them being products of experiments but their mother was from somewhere else and traveled through mirror portals??? Katya's interactions with Oso, Grizz and Kodie were the only good things about this confusing story.

I loved the chemistry between characters. Looking forward to read more books from this author.

I was drawn in to this book by the blurb. Once I started reading it I did loose a little interest in it bc of the technical side. The book is very well written and is very interesting once I gave it a chance. I am glad that I finished it and didn't give up on it. The chemistry between the characters are off the charts and there are plenty of steamy scenes. Over all this book is a pretty good read.

Very interesting, original, storyline. I think if a VR game like that really existed, it would be pretty awesome, and I would probably never leave my house. I would recommend this book, but I don't think it is for everyone.

The story was interesting. My problem with it is that in the beginning of the story you find out that she and her sister are in hiding. It leads you to believe that this is going to be a major point in the book, in the end it is kind of a let down when nothing develops from this.

**I received this book free from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.**

Disclaimer: This book includes graphic sex scenes and minor BDSM practices. If that bothers you I would skip reading my review along with the book.

“’What do you long for, Katy?’ The thought was there. Something real. She could never say it. Could never have it.”

The Grizzly’s Tale has a lot going on, there’s a virtual world, shapeshifters, weird genetic alterations, creepy maybe someone is a serial killer stalkers and dragon Bermuda triangles. But it’s awesome! It has so much depth. I really enjoyed it. In fact I kinda wish there was more to read. Which is okay because there is going to be a second book in the series!

Katy has met three men through a virtual reality game called Quarterz. Quarterz is all about being either hunter or prey. Katy is the prey and Grizz, Oso and Kodie are the hunters. In Quarterz you can do anything, be anything, including bear shifters. But Grizz, Oso and Kodie actually ARE bear shifters in reality. And they have found their mate: Katy. They just have to convince Katy to meat IRL (in real life).

But Katy has her own secret, she’s genetically modified. Which is why she has a secret identity and the only way she can get close to people is through Quarterz. But she’s about to leave for Antarctica and she will sure miss her bears. Which is what finally convinces her to meet up with them.

“How do you explain to your lovers that orgasms make you disappear?”

Most people who read the description of this book will think it’s just about sexy times and a ménage relationship, but a large portion of this book is about the science. And the paranormal elements. It’s an interesting combination and it’s very detailed. There are a couple times the science takes over and it gets a little dense but I think it’s a great premise and very interesting.

Katy has been genetically modified, along with her sister and many of their pets. So they have to hide their true identities in case anyone comes looking for them. It seems there are a couple things that affect how Katy and her sister respond to different situations but the biggest consequence of their modifications is when excited they vanish/disappear for a couple minutes. And yes, by excited that means when Katy orgasms, she disappears. Katy avoids that problem by immersing herself in online relationship through Quarterz where no one can witness her disappearing.

The Grizzly’s Tale had just enough plot and mystery to keep me engaged throughout the whole novel and I’m intrigued enough to read the second book in the series. Katy was a great main character the only place this book was lacking was in the depth to the three main men. The potential was there, they each had distinct personalities, but there just wasn’t enough time to get to know them incredibly well. Because this book takes place AFTER Katy has met them in the virtual reality, you don’t get to know them at the same level as Katy does. So if there was anything lacking in this book that would be it. I wish we got to see more of how Katy met the bears and built those relationships.

The Grizzly’s Tale comes out January 13th if you’re interested in purchasing it, I recommend giving it a chance.

Please let me know if anyone has any questions or thoughts, I would love to hear what you think.
