Only after finishing Shafir's work do I feel like I finally have a grasp of the Israelis-Palestinian conflict. The book is packed to capacity with detail in order to give the reader the full scope of the situation, but information overload is avoided do to Shafir's organizational work and his breakdown and separate explanations of the myriad of factors of the conflict. As a result, the author is able to very successfully take one of the most complex subjects of the last few decades, untangle it, and provide plenty of very badly-needed clarity to readers (such as the writer of this very review).

One of the driest most poorly organized books I have read on the subject.
